Out of all of the bars we visited this little gem became our local.Very busy bar.Some people may say this is a dive bar. It is, and it is an awesome one at that.Cheapest drinks in New York and you can’t go wrong with a free hotdog.The non alcoholic options is only Athletic, which after two or three, they taste ok.They have a larger seating area at the back, but a seat at the bar is what your really need.Nice simple price list.Highly recommend this bar.

Loved this place so much! In NYC 5 days and made sure we visited every day...Yolanda is amazing and a force to be reckoned with! Only on our second day did she remember what we had to drink, she made us feel very welcome, we felt like locals straight away! This place gets very busy but wait for a seat and soak up the atmosphere, its so worth it! I loved the Rudys Blonde beer and dont forget your free hot dog! Lovely locals too.

This is a fantastic (and famous) bar a couple of blocks away from Times Square in New York.Its well worth visiting, as the beer is cheap and good, and you get a free hot dog with every purchase.I bought a beer, a shot of whisky, and a Coke for $8, and got two hot dogs thrown in for free. They were decent too.If youre in the area while visiting Manhattan, be sure to pay Rudys a visit.Please note that its cash only, and its better to visit during the day when its quiet. Otherwise, you may have to ask for the free hot dogs.

Great bar, good vibe and awesome atmosphere.I never thought we could get drinks this cheap in NYC, also the free hot dog! We been there almost everyday of our trip.

Ended up going a couple of times. After getting bent over by New York prices it was a pleasure to find a place with cheap craft beer. Boisterous place, but a couple of local let me rest my beer in between them. Bald barman looked after me very well. The limited edition Rudy’s Grapefruit Summer Lager was a pretty good drop. Would be my go to if I stay in that part of New York City again. A fabulous dive bar.

Best deal in NYC!!! My buddies and I split a pitcher for $12 and got 4 hot dogs for free! Amazing! Hebrew National dogs too!This place has a fun/chill atmosphere! Don’t be surprised if you spend 2-6 hours here!

Our favorite bar in NYC. You cant beat the prices, our table had four beer, four shots of whiskey, and four hot dogs for $20! Its amazing this place is only blocks from Times Square because its like a completely different world. Its dark and has the perfect atmosphere for a bar. Weve been to many bars in NYC and this is the one well come to every time we visit.

The papier mâché pig never lies! Long-standing bar in Hells Kitchen eclectically mixes locals and tourist-transients. Lots of regulars, as the beer is good (about fifteen on tap) and fairly priced. There are frankfurters at the bar. Ribald country music and other classics play on a juke box. Bathroom narrow and full of historic stickerfiti.

I can’t get enough of this place! Such a vibe! The All American is what you need to order! Beer, shot, and a hot dog! This place is such a needed stop to make when you’re in the area! You won’t be disappointed…. Unless you’re not into crowds… it can get a little stuffy in here but totally worth it!

Still gonna give it five stars even though it was very crowded during the week. When I went the cheap $3-4 beers were gone but they had plenty off over drinks and hot dogs available to the costumers. Lots of people coming in but the people working seemed to take care of everyone simultaneously!

This was the best bar I visiting in NY. It’s has a wonderful NY atmosphere, and the staff are brilliant , and the free hotdog was lovely. The beer is the cheapest in the city that I found (by at least half) with a wide choice.It can get busy and cash only - but it’s worth it.

YES! True drive bar. Extremely reasonable prices. Not just reasonable for NYC but reasonable for ANYWHERE. Got beer pitchers and shots and could not be more pleased with the price and the quality. Service was attentive. The atmosphere is super cool. Dark, all times of the day. Free hot dogs. Cash only. This is the best bar in NYC midtown area.

A real New York insider tip: great beer at an unbeatable price - and every beer comes with a free hot dog. The atmosphere is a bit nostalgic, but thats what gives the place its special charm. After a few minutes of waiting, we were finally able to get a seat at the bar. Its definitely worth a visit!

About as close to a neighborhood bar vibe as you can get in this utter tourist trap area. Free Pizza with beer. Pretty chill. If you cant get to anywhere South of 14th St or North of 96th, then give it a go.

Honestly the best deal in the city when it comes to beer and a hot dog!! Bar tenders are always nice and pleasant even when its busy ! If your a bit tight on cash and want beer and a hot dog , come on to Rudys!!! Ill definitely be back !

This place is simply amazing. 10 minutes walk west from Times Square where you will pay $12 for a beer, beers here start at €3 and a double whisky and a beer for £5. If that wasn’t enough, you get a free hot dog with every point. The atmosphere is superb - it’s an absolute MUST visit!

Cant rate food we didnt have any but great bar. Definitely gonna start coming more often. Lots of history. Many celebrities have enjoyed a drink or 2 here. They have their own beer and a nice backyard for groups.

Rudys offers hands down the best value in the city for a beer and a hot dog! The bartenders are always friendly and welcoming, even during busy hours. If youre on a budget and craving a beer and a hot dog, this is the place to be. Ill absolutely be returning!

Rudys has been around since the 30s and still has an amazing vibe. Their house beer is really good and the price is even better. Theres an area in the back if the main room is full. Dont forget to get a hotdog while youre there!

Super Bar with a good atmosphere. Went in a couple of nights while on holiday from England. Keith working behind the Bar is a Top Bloke, very friendly and knowledgeable about New York City. One of the best dive bars in midtown. You get a hot dog free with each drink purchase. The prices are ridiculously low. It gets crowded quick so dont get there too late in the afternoon. Bartenders are very cool and the regulars are usually pretty friendly. They even got two of their own beers on tap. It has become one of my favorite spots for a drink n snack, highly recommended (if dive bars are your thang)

I absolutely adored this place! Throughout our five days in NYC, we made sure to visit daily. Yolanda is amazing—such a dynamo! By our second stop, she had already memorized our drink orders, making us feel as though we belonged, just like locals. While it can get busy, its well worth the wait to experience the vibrant atmosphere. I couldn’t get enough of Rudys Blonde beer, and the free hot dog is a must-try! The locals are wonderful as well.

I love this place with all my heart. Truly an amazing place. I was born in the Bronx, so I avoid all the hype tourist locations with every fiber of my being. But this place is truly perfect. A mix of all different types of people and a cozy bar with amazing bartenders (be nice and be patient; they are doing the best). I love to go late nights on Sunday (less people), or if I’m looking for a fun night of meeting some good people, I go Saturday. The beers are cheap (get the blonde worth it) and taste good. The hotdogs are per drink, but I mean, if you drink a lot, you’re going to have a lot of hot dogs. If you go, make sure to tip; the beers are cheap, but don’t be cheap to the person serving you. Sometimes it can be a bit rowdy, but a few beers down, youre going to feel bliss. Just go and enjoy yourself worth it.

We had the best time at Rudy’s. TJ was very helpful and shared the history of the bar and made us great FREE hot dogs. Another group came in and left because that’s the only food they serve. What a bunch of fools. It doesn’t get any better than a free hot dog with purchase. The drink prices are inexpensive and clearly marked on the wall so you know what you’re getting. Best dive bar ever. Will be back!

Thats one of the best bars ever been. The attention. Atmosphere and people make this bar very relaxing. If you get hungry, they offer you a free hot dog. Nothing special but something for the stomach they dont rush you. Fair prices good drinks and excelent deals and offers. Good rudy

One of my favorite dive bars in HK that has cheep beers that come with a free hotdog with every drink. Or 4 when ordering a pitcher. It’s a straight bar in the middle of all the gay bars which is nice. One star off since sometimes the lady bartender unfairly tends to some patrons and ignores others as many people wait to order. It gets rowdy, they play sports, and people are generally friendly which is my kind of dive bar.

Loved being there, there used to be a bartender named Vicky she used to make tuna sandwiches. For the good tippers. Atmosphere is of the old dock workers. No they’re all retired waiting for their social security checks. Walls or covered with captains of their time. Old jazz music. Perfect.

It’s a pre booze place I would say amazingly cheap drinks the beers are standard but other drinks are dirt cheap.. the place is small but it really gets crowded on the weekends like no place to stand kinda crowded.. they always have a $5 shots which can get you drunk super easily and they do have a jukebox for music… only the service is a little slow coz of the crowd

Best secret in Manhattan-Hells Kitchen. Cold Beer and Hot Dogs this is your place. Drink specials crazy cheap too. If youre a 1st time goer, here is a tip.....bring your manners to this fine establishment and show respect for the folks slinging drinks or find out where Kitchen got its 1st name! One of my favorite places while visiting Times Square.

Great spot, but had issue w bouncer who was refusing my ID.Loved the ambiance and wished we wouldve stayed longer.. The place was PACKED on a Wednesday evening. Friendly bartender. Cheap drinks. Loud music. Everything youd expect from a good pub. Theres also hot dogs cooking behind the bar. Didnt know we were supposed to get a free hot dog w the drinks we ordered ! Well be sure to ask next time we come by. Well be sure to give this place another chance, just not on a Wednesday night and hopefully a different bouncer will be there.While i understand New York can be strict when it comes to letting ppl enter in 21+ areas, the bouncer who refused my ID was unprofessional and on a childish power trip w me. The bouncer refused to let me in because he claimed my government-issued/government-recognized Quebec ID i gave him isnt a valid form of ID because he was convinced I was giving him some unrelated medical insurance card. Our official government-issued and government-recognized ID also has the words regime health/sickness insurance written on it. Our Healthcare is free so yeah our gov ID does double as a health card, which we present to doctors/hospitals/etc if ever we need to... so i can see where the confusion came from. On the other hand , our ID card is also the card we present to clubs,bars,the bank, police officers, schools, delivery pickups, etc. I asked him to Google it. I feel this guys never met a Quebecer before because he was not budging.My complaint isnt about the ID verification itself, its about the lack of professionalism in how the bouncer handled the situation and then made us feel very unwelcome after letting us in. Im almost 30 years old and found this interaction was made overcomplicated and unnecessary.Finally he let me in and warned me to bring a real id next time. Thats where I felt unwelcome and thats where I found he was being childish/power tripping. That comment was unnecessary and again, implying false things.... needless to say we left within 5 minutes of going inside. Bouncer killed the mood for us

This place is AMAZING!!! The overall atmosphere is super friendly and the music is great! The prices are unbelievable!!! I paid 7 dollars for two local beers and each beer came with a free hot dog! I love this place. Will be back every time I am in NYC.

Was here with the Fiancée back in March and loved it. cheap beers, free hotdogs and great staff. dry sense of humor but very nice. jukebox was an added bonus and they also had live football on (soccer) all in all 10/10

Great bar in Hells Kitchen with a great range of beers. It was very busy when I went in but the wait was almost non-existent as the bartender was very quick. I tried 4 different draft beers, including their own (a blonde and a red), the blonde being my favourite of the two. At $3 a pint with a free hot dog, its kind of a hard deal to beat! The prices for a pint on draft ranged from $3 (the aforementioned Rudys blonde) to $8 for a wicked weed sour.Definitely somewhere Id drink in again if Im back in New York.

My only regret is that I found this bar only on my second trip to NYC: this place is awesome! Fairly priced drinks and combos and something youll not find easily these days: they give you hotdogs for free on purchases! Place is totally no-frills and yet its cozy in a punk way: youll be greeted by a giant plastic pig (Rudy, their mascot) stationed in the sidewalk by the bar entrance. Very classy in a real NYC sort of way, a time capsule, a must-see!

Easily my favorite bar in New York. They dont have a large selection of craft beers, but receiving a whole beef hot dog with every purchase is the nicest part about this restaurant. It was a perfect pit stop for me as a hot dog aficionado while traversing the streets of the concrete jungle.

Rudys bar and grill is cash only. one of the best happy hours in Hell Kitchen neighborhood. Their house beers are actually quite decent. They serve hot dogs with a beer purchase. Bar is awesome and the mustache bartender is a very cool guy. But the short bald bartender was EXTREMELY RUDE when I was buying my beer. Not coming back because of him.

What’s not to love about Rudy’s? Buy a cheap beer and get a free hotdog…I came in and was helped by Franko who was super friendly and knew how to chat. I tried both their house beers and they’re honestly pretty good! Also for $3 and $4 respectively they’re probably the cheapest drinks you can get in the area if not all of Manhattan.The hotdogs honestly hit the spot and make the experience even better. A fresh hotdog with a line of ketchup and a line of mustard is all that’s needed.Also to note that this is THE Rudy’s from the Steely Dan song Black Cow. Apparently the guys used to hang out there in the 70sDefinitely a must visit if the vibe of this place interests you and they’re open 8am-4am basically every day so there’s no excuse

This was a big highlight on our NYC trip because we love checking out unassuming ‘hole-in-the-wall’ pubs. Big cartoonish pig-statue out front (great for photo ops). Grungy atmosphere with a loyal local customer base, and great service. Rudy’s has a wide variety of beers, and very decently-priced, plus you get a free delicious hot dog with each purchase of a drink!! The booth seating has layer upon layer of red duct tape (if that’s not unassuming, I don’t know what is). We would 100% visit here again.

Excellent dive bar on 9th avenue - prices are very reasonable ($3 for a pint of Rudys Blonde!) and it has a fun atmosphere. There are a lot of stools at the bar and a couple of booth along the wall. They play sport in the back and by the bar. The service was quick and friendly. Would highly recommend for a drink or two away from the touristy pubs/bars of Midtown.

Happy thanksgiving Rudy’s, thank you so much for hosting a thanksgiving dinner. Everyone here was so friendly. The people serving at the buffet were a hoot. The beer prices were very reasonable. $5 for their Rudy’s ale and a shot of seagrams 7. This is going to be added onto my favorites list. A real gem.

Such a chill bar. Keith was definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to bartenders in the city. He was attentive all night! We never went without a drink, even though it was super busy. He was friendly, and that was a great surprise due to him being pulled in every direction by customers. Keith, thank you so much for making our night! Well definitely be back!

Great spot for cheap drinks where local beers are on tap and local ciders offered. They also have wine and mix drinks. You get a free hot dog (Hebrew national) with your drink order. We went early on Saturday (9:30ish) with no wait to get in. They card you at the door. It was very busy but we only waited 5ish minutes to order drinks. There is some seating inside but first come first serve. When we left there was a line to get in. Overall a great dive bar in NYC!

Travelers beware.I was really looking forward to going here after seeing a lot about it on social media, however I couldnt even get in, the bouncer at the door claimed that my ID was fake. It certainly is not. I live out of state, I got this current ID nearly 9 years ago at the DMV and it is valid for another 40 or so. Ive been to hundreds of bars with it, gotten through TSA a dozen times, etc, My ID is valid. The boncer refused to even question an issue with the machine that checks the ID. I was worried that he was going to try to keep my ID since he was insistent that it was fake.

A classic in Hells Kitchen.You can’t miss it…just look for the giant pig outside the door. Cheapest draft beer in town and always packed.Cleaned up quite a bit while closed for Covid, it’s still the same fun place it’s always been. A family tradition in my house we must go at least once when in town.

I wanted to check if reddit rumor about Rudys hospitality is true.Exceeded my expectations- had a good chat with a few people, got fresh beer+shot combo, free sandwich and cake to top it! Judge Judy was smiling the whole time from a huge projector TV.New York hospitality at its best!
