After a long day of exploring, we were ready for a satisfying, high-quality meal to wrap up our adventure. Strolling through the streets of New York, we happened upon Tailor Public House. Thankfully, they had a menu displayed outside, so we quickly skimmed through it, and everything seemed promising enough to step inside.Once inside, we noticed the place was packed—especially the pub area downstairs, where people were engrossed in the game and enjoying their drinks. The staff directed us upstairs, and here the atmosphere shifted: it was much quieter, nearly empty, offering a more relaxed dining experience. We settled in, received our drinks promptly, and reviewed the menu once more before ordering.I decided to go for the red velvet waffles and fried chicken, which sounded like an inventive take on a classic. Unfortunately, I quickly realized my mistake. The staff didn’t seem knowledgeable about the menu and couldn’t answer our questions clearly. They rarely checked on us, giving the impression that attentive service was low on their priority list. When the food arrived, my hopes sank. What I received was a half waffle, paired with a thin, unseasoned chicken patty that looked hastily cut in half. For the price, I expected much more in terms of both quality and portion. The waffle was flavorless, like it came from a box mix, and the chicken was so plain that it was difficult to take more than one bite. Despite the server walking past our table multiple times, they didn’t acknowledge the untouched food or offer any alternatives. In the end, when my friend finished their meal, I still had to pay for mine, which I didn’t eat.I’m not sure if the service issues were due to an off day or if this is standard here, but if it’s the latter, I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience. The atmosphere was nice, with a lively pub vibe downstairs, but if you decide to visit, I’d suggest coming for the ambiance and maybe a drink or two—skip the food if it’s anything like what I experienced.
Very busy pub, we only managed to get a seat once, the other time it was to packed to the rafters so no seats available. The alcohol free menu option was one lager which I think was Heineken 0.0, the worst lager out there in my opinion, so I ended up have a coffee. The lady who served us was very friendly.Staff didn’t stop working for a second.Would recommend this place.
Live music and great atmosphere! the peanut butter espresso martini is one of the best cocktails i’ve ever had! our server was super nice and they are open until 4am. i want to come back and try their food too
Stopped in before a concert. Went to the upstairs bar. Ordered calamari which was delicious and had some drinks. All were reasonably priced considering the area. What made this place was the bartender. Great conversation and service. Bathrooms were immaculate. I will definitely be back.
A fun place to have a big party! Celebrated here with Andy the Highlander and friends after Tartan day parade. Spacious party room, good buffet, great selection of ales and beer. Conveniently located near Penn Station and Broadway theatres.
The tailor has been my go to spot for the past few years! More specifically the cutting room where it really gives off a dive bar. If you are looking for a place to have great drinks, eat, and be with friends the cutting room is your best option. And let’s not forget the best staff Marc and the rest of the bartenders making it a great experience every time.
Despite being so close to penn station and being mobbed by tourists, food is excellent, bartenders are AMAZING, and servers are great, too. Fantastic place to hang out while waiting for your train. Burger ordered medium rare was perfectly medium rare, which is rare in the US!
Great food selection and daily happy hour deals. Also have daily specials. Staff is great but can get crazy busy so plan accordingly when you head there! Fantastic location too! Jack and Connor are always fantastic when at the bar! There is also an upstairs area.
It was very crowded here when I went which made the service a bit wanting. The food was also alright. However, it was festive especially with the game on. The food is passable when youre hungry and the black and blue was not well made. Its okay if you want somewhere to grab a drink and some ok food.
Let me be clear, I love coming to this place after seeing a show. However, the other day I was verbally harassed by the person who operates the music for the bar that left me rather disappointed in how the staff handled this (which was to ask what I did to make HIM act in a verbally violent manner and said that they were too busy to handle this - a situation that ultimately made me feel unsafe as a customer and could be avoided).
Staff was great but might of been short staffed because it took along time for someone to come over and take our orders/drinks and food took a while to come out.
The food here is awesome and cheap for being in Midtown Manhattan. The staff was welcoming and was on top of their game. Sports were playing on the television, but was not overwhelming because it was muted. It has a beautiful atmosphere and vibe.We were able to watch the marathon while we ate. We were not a fan of the french toast. The crust was too hard.
For two consecutive days after work, I went to this bar to watch the 2024 European Championship matches, eat, and drink beer. The ambiance was great, and the service staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very delicious. I had chicken tenders and fish & chips, along with Belgian beers. Everything was perfect. I definitely recommend this place.
This is a great bar to go with big groups. They have ample seating, and a nice vibe. Sometimes though the service can be slow if there’s only one bartender on a Friday night. But I’ll definitely go back!
We stopped in on a whim and we were not disappointed. Amazing service, fantastic food and super fun people watching. It’s amazing how busy the staff is but they don’t miss a single beat.
Great atmosphere and is one of the best KU bars in NYC. We came here before the KU vs Duke game during the Champions Classic and it was awesome. Figuring there would be a crowd so we got here a few hours before the game to snag a table and eat. Their food was good, we all ended up ordering the hamburger and it was tasty. The KU crowd started rolling in around 3pm and the vibe was crazy energetic! The servers were amazing all night and still took great care of us, and everyone else, once it started getting packed. It was a few short blocks to Madison Square Garden so it’s a great spot to go before any event or to watch any sporting team!
A cozy nice place on 8th and 35th. I loved it! The service was amazing, the girl was so sweet and nice. The food was good too. They have soup which I like. Reasonable prices and good interior.
Excellent pub, food was fantastic, well worth a visit..dishes to suit everyone ,Bangers and Mash with onion gravy was top class..5 of us had lunch there with drinks- cost 150 usd plus tip…
Great bar and service was super quick. Nice selection of beers and Whiskey. Me and my coworker had a great time. Didn’t have any food but looked like the usual pub fare.
Great food and service. One star knocked off as I mentioned twice that there was no soap in the gents toilets and it was never refilled. Worrying really when there is a sign on the wall reminding staff to wash their hands before going back on duty.
We had the BEST server in New York tonight. Zoey was an absolute blast. Good was great too. Such a great memory tonight with good friends and great atmosphere.
Check your bill. The food and drinks were good. The ambience was great and location is perfect. Now the reason I decided to knock some stars off was that there were 2 of us dining in, but we had an auto gratuity for large groups of 18% automatically applied to our bill. I pointed this out to the waitress who immediately apologized and took it off, but I’m extremely wary of such practices. It could have been a genuine mistake, that would have simply slipped had I not checked the bill. But all I’ll say here is just make sure you check your bill.Nice festive decor.
Great bar, and great food. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our visit.
When it comes to a Saturday and youre in Manhattan, I prefer a fine Manhattan cocktail in Manhattan and thats what I did the same on a beautiful Saturday evening. Loved the drink as usual. To go with the second I asked server to surprise me with some cocktail in whiskey, she served Tailor special. The drink is really good made with pineapple juice with spiced whiskey. I would like you guys to order the same at the next time you visit the place. When starve from hunger go for the flatbread if you see in the menu. Thats my preference though, but we have a vegetarian option here, so I was happy.Hospitality is good. Our server was cute! Ambience is great! Looking forward to visit again!
Great location to eat if you are on the way to an event at Madison Square Gardens. The service was good, but a bit slow at times, but the restaurant was very busy. The food was good and I would definitely easy there again.
Beautiful restaurant with very lovely layout. I had brunch with my team in this restaurant and the food was amazing. Theyve got the most courteous and responsive waiters in this place. The place is family friendly with wheelchair accessible entrance for the differently able. Its also pretty close to the road and be easily noticed from a vehicle in normal traffic.#Food #Coffee #Restaurant #FamilyFriendly #WheelChairAccessible #NYC #AmericanStyle #Friendly #Classy #Manhattan #LetsGuide #LocalGuide
Food portions were perfect, and prices were great. Staff worked quickly and very friendly.
It was my first time being at this establishment. The place looks great. The drinks were a decent price. I didnt try the their food yet. The atmosphere is amazing.
Ordered a drink .... out of brandyOrdered a beer .... didnt carry that brandOrdered the calamari appetizer ... residual grease lined the plateOrdered the fish and chips ... pretty bland fishSorry but when you spend $175.00 I want exceptional something and we just didnt walk away with that feeling
Holy cow this place is amazing! The beer selection and the food is out of this world. I got a fried chicken sandwich and it literally brought me to another world! And the price is outstanding. The chicken sandwiches is only $15!!! (With fries)
Amazing bar, great food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend
Tried one of their popular dishes the lamb burger...it was very gamey and had way too many onions...it gave me a stomach ache and I paid for it all night. My drink was horrible...asked for gin and tonic...she gave me the smallest shot ever and filled the tallest glass with tonic...I gave feedback but it fell on deaf ears. On the positive my friend loved his salmon and his drink (think it was Washington apple)
Hosted a cocktail style dinner here after an event at the Javits Center yesterday. I am so glad we came across this gem! Its very spacious with different rooms and a great atmosphere. The staff was incredible and attentive to our party. The drinks and food were great. I highly recommend coming to the Tailor Public House!
If you going to see a. Concert at Madison Square Garden try Tailors which is a short distance from the Garden. Prices are reasonable and the drinks and menu items are a treat. Service was slow but, picked up.
The place always looked lively and I inviting - I was waiting to try it out. Disappointed though. The interiors are nice and spacious. However, nothing special about today’s lunch special - blackened Mahi mahi; the pork chops were just ordinary.
Thank you, Tailor Public House for giving us a good meal, cold drinks and immediate service after a nightmare experience at another resturant. We came in frustrated, hot, thirsty and hungry to be met with kind servers, AC, water and good food!
A good bite in a good location. Our server was not great (very slow and rarely checked back), but the food was good and the brunch cocktails were tasty. What I did not care for was that they charged for EACH cup of coffee. $2.50 What??? Who in this world doesnt just refill your coffee. So ridiculous. The tables are all VERY small. See photo.
Where to start with this place… we flew for a quick business meeting and decided to go out for a bite and a drink. When we walked in the front door, the hostess was chatting with what appeared to be the manager who is casually leaning against the window. I did not, was there for a minute, but they had a conversation until she finally turned to me, and looked at me like I was bothering her. We asked for Table for two and then just looked around and said it’s pretty busy then we might have to wait a while. We didn’t mind waiting and appreciate restaurants get busy. The table did open up. I took another 15 minutes for her to finally come over and get us.Once sitting server came by after about 20 minutes and dropped off a menu and then had an incredibly lengthy conversation with the table next to us for close to 20 minutes. Look like she was getting the number of the gentleman at her table. We had to walk over and ask her if we could order. When she came to the table, I asked her how long it would take for food and drinks and she thought I was making a reference to the fact that she took forever to come to the table. If I’m being honest, it was a really sour experience.I am a chronic reviewer and rarely have I ever left a bad review because I appreciate being able to sit down and have a meal regardless of quality. That said, this place literally struck out everything with exception of having a cool ambience. If I were the owner of this establishment, I would really think long and hard about my staffing options. I can appreciate finding people who want to work today is difficult in the service industry. Poor service in my opinion is unacceptable.I haven’t even touched all the food which was beyond terrible. The beer was good but it’s hard to screw that up 🤦🏻♂️
Fantastic bar that, when I found it, dealt with a bar crawl situation spectacularly and was the only one my friend and I could even manage to get seats at. Ive seen couple times later on and service was excellent!! Food was good, and especially the drinks!
The atmosphere was cool even on the second floor. But I reserved a table hoping to be part of the action. The food was decent, but nothing special. I got Shepherd’s pie, but my husband got the bangers and mash. It was not as good as some others I have had. I’d probably not go again…but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t decent.
One of the best bars to have Experienced! Had the pleasure to be served by Branden!
Promising on paper, disappointing in practice. The lackadaisical wait staff was slow to respond to the fact that we ordered clam chowder and brought out a watered down chicken soup instead: “sorry, they changed the soup after you ordered,” says the automaton we got in place of our waitress who was nowhere to be found! Then the watery chicken dumpling appetizer was…unappetizing. We only got a halfhearted “sorry” not even looking at us as the waitress walked away. Even the busboy claimed “This IS clam chowder,” but maybe his height did not allow him to see past the edge of the table. Needless to say this was our first walk out in five years from a restaurant. Sad sad.
Very happening place with a great atmosphere Food was delicious with lots of choices.
Good vibes. Friendly bartenders. Yummy beer. Loved the atmosphere and music.
Great music and atmosphere, the upstairs bartender was great! Incredible bar curry too!
This was a nice place to get away from the chaos of the city and enjoy some cold ones while watching the world cup. It has a really cool set up with three different bar areas. Each bar had very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders that could tell you about all their craft beers.
This place is crazy popular so if you actually want to come here for a meal I recommend coming at off-peak hours. I got turned away at the door the first time I tried coming here because they were just too busy. I came back for an (early) lunch the next day, like around 10:30am. I had the Reuben sandwich plate and sampled regional craft beers, plus had a nice Guinness in a pint glass with a Harp on it. Much better use of my time than chowing down on convention fare at the Javits Center!
Such a fun Monday night vibe, the bar is very welcoming and fun
I came here for a quick drink. I was served promptly and the bartender made my Long Island in a short amount of time. It tasted good and was better than I expected.
This bar is beautiful, but unfortunately we stayed at the top, which was very empty and bland! The fries are delicious! The bar service was amazing!!!
I ordered a steak with fries and asparagus and everything came out cold. It came out so quick but I figured it was already cooked before I ordered it. The waitress was horrible rude as can be in the whole bar smell like water. I’ve been here a couple times, and every time the wait stuff was awful and rude. Go somewhere else if you want decent food. There are tons of places in the area that are willing to give you a decent meal. Waste of 70 bucks
Horrible service , food and drinks. I do not recommend this place and Im from New York so I know what is good and not.
Great place with very welcoming staff. We tried tacos with steak and it was one of the best we ate! Highly recommend!
Exactly what you want from a pub.The sandwich was excellent, and for NYC the price was fantastic as well.Best of all they are still open late (even post Covid, where everything else seems to shut down at 10 PM even in NYC), and had their kitchen open. Loved it, and plan to return.Edit 2024: sadly I have to edit my review to update it. I know a place might not want to seat a solo diner, but telling a lone person “maybe find a seat at the bar” when there is clearly no seats there and refusing to add the name to the wait list just isn’t acceptable.
Nice spot to meet friends, service is great. Food and drink are your standard barely edible beer bar type. We ordered so many things flat bread, mozzarella sticks, pasta, wings and i can say it was not good. Edible if youre hungry. I had a moscow mule and it was juice. Stick to the beers and order some fries and youll be ok. The service was very good and ambience nice to talk to friends and relax.
Nice Irish pub near Penn Station. Service was fast and friendly, food was tasty and there was a good selection of beers on tap. Lots of TVs to watch your favorite Premier League team.
At first sight it looks great. Unfortunately there was a staff change and my order was treated as if they were just flinging my plate at me. Delivered by a sweaty guy from the back kitchen. First try was the wrong table. No utensils no condiments no napkins. Had to point this out as he walked away. Fine. He’s a kitchen guy. A random server came over and was impolite and said, “That’s where the condiments are kept.” Pointing to another section. When paying I used cash. So amusingly she gave back the exact change to receive her 20% and withheld the change. Whatever. P.S. Even though there’s an Irish flag outside the front door…no Irish charm or humor. P.S. The bartender needs to be left out of this review. He’s good.
We visited from Ireland for 4 days. We ate here every day the food is absolutely amazing. No matter what side of the city we were on we would make our way back here for dinner. Staff was so friendly and atmosphere was lovely. Definitely a hidden gem. I don’t drink but my partner said the Guinness was 10/10 :)
Great place to watch soccer. Well staffed even on busy game days it’s easy to get a drink.
Checked in for a quiet Saturday evening bevvie, and the place was taken over by a post-engagement party party. Got busy and wild.Good selection of beverages, attentive and efficient staff, plenty of sports screens.
Very clean place…wish the paint wasn’t peeling from the ceiling. Design and layout of the restaurant is very cool! Food came out in a timely manner and staff were pleasant. Food overall could’ve used some zest, but presentation was 10/10.
Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was great I highly recommend going there
We were a complicated group. Eight people, some with bad food allergies. They setup a table for us and went above and beyond making sure that everyone got their food. Ive rarely seen a waitress run up stairs three at a time to correct an error, but I did tonight. She was awesome. Its a bit loud, but its a pub.The food is uncomplicated because its a pub (the steak was well cooked and the chicken curry was good, and the cheesecake was very good).Id go back in a second.
Pretty busy spot but staff gets you seated quickly. Service can be slow at times because of the tourists talking the staffs ear off. Great staff, good environment, and open til 4am.
Sweet young ladies who provide great service. Food and cocktail average.
Fast and friendly staffsConvenient locationI will be back again
Nice place, horrible service, horrible service. We arrived at night and ordered a sandwich, soup and a salad. The food simply took more than an hour to be ready. The server was serving a birthday party table and forgot our table. Terrible experience. Only another employee who was not our attendant helped us. Another detail, we requested a refund and they refused to give it to us.
My wife needed a Manhattan drink in Manhattan and this was the perfect place, a nice bar. After a year again👍
This place was a find. We were heading to the Theater in the snow and rain and came upon The Tailor Public House. We were trying to read the menu outside and people with their hustle, bustle, and umbrellas bunping into us kinda forced us to go inside. The Hostess lol, didnt speak very good English. We asked if there was a Gluten-free menu and she said sit here for eat lol. Our Server came over and she was a Diamond in the ruff. Helped with getting me a Gluten-free grilled chicken Ceasars salad, a beer from the bar, an Angry Orchard, took my wifes order and Wow, what a great meal. Our Server not only knew about Gluten-free, she also knew about Celiac Disease and the damage thats done to a person if their food or drink is contaminated. I cant speak for all Servers there, but she was Amazing. Thanks for a Great stop for food and drink, and the Entertainmant. Ill stop there again for the next Show we see.
Great vibes, great drinks, and a bartender who knows how to keep the party going. Branden was super friendly and made the experience even better!
Its a nice place, especially where its located. Good for a happy hour meet with buddies or a before concert drink, since its only a short walk from MSG.
Great fresh food. Excellent service. No issues with unsalted request. Easy walk from Penn Station.
Our Irish waitress was excellent, she had recently arrived in the USA
Larger, brighter (big front windows) Irish Pub with a diverse set of patrons and attentive staff. Fair pours and price points for Manhattan. This is a pub to come to simply pub - not to impress or part of a dive bar tour - to pub!Great energy here! It builds as the day/evening progresses.
Fantastic 2-story bar right 5 min walking distance fron Hudson Yards. The waitstaff were very friendly and took excellent care of our 20-person group even without a reservation. This is a great spot for a corporate happy hour. Looking forward to going there again sometime soon.
Great place to have drinks with friends. We were served by Natalie that did really a great job in following the whole group.
Amazing Bar!This is our favorite place to hang out for all the time!Friendly stuff, huge selection of beers, foods are fresh and delicious all the time.Five star
Really nice place to relax after a long day/week. Great drinks and food. My friends and I will definitely be coming back soon!
Service and food were were very well executed. Loved the decor of the establishment.
I was there for a late lunch/ early dinner on a Saturday. Service was great as was the food. Friendly crowd, servers and bartenders.
Johnny was an awesome bar tender! Incredible service and hospitality! I completely recommend coming in here for both just drinks or dinner and drinks! Quality and service!
For Santa Con therr was so muchdisorganization no communication with security and door men. 35 min wait to go upstairs. And overly packed people 🙄 cutting lines and the music 🎶 not good. Staff was not friendly. Will notbe going back at all. We went to other venues much more organized and space to move and friendly staff.
Nice place to come and kick back on a Friday night. The food is great and drinks are always chilled. Super close to the trains near Penn Station. Go and enjoy 😉
Music too loud, turn it down a bit. This is not a dance club.
Friendly bar, table service (paying at least) quite slow
Excellent evening with friends. The service was the best. I have food allergies and all of the staff were very attentive. The food and drinks were great and the ambiance was warm and welcoming.
Nice place with tvs so you can watch sports while eating!
Reuben was very good. Fries were standard and no salt. Steak sandwich was decent, flatbread was good, poutine was thinned canned gravy, and melted cheese, not exactly poutine and we barely touched it, not good... And the fish was terrible. Soggy and yuck breading, not crispy at all. Might as well have been undercooked from my freezer, Mrs Pauls for how it was... Tea was not free refills, just thought Id mention and it came in a wine glass...
Excellent service.great for sports and some of the best food weve tried while been here. Had the steak twice and going bback before we go home today .the most satisfying food weve had while here and weve ate plenty.service is very good the atmosphere is great but not quite times square but we know that so thats fine . For anyone viditing from anywhere its a must steak is some of the best n whoever supplies/sorces it is doing a great job
Ate here tonight with family. Super loud atmosphere. Fast service but the food was not good. I had the Shepard pie… not great. Soup of the day had too much corn in it. Salmon was dry. Wings were flavorless. Calamari was mid asf.
Great Bar in Manhattan. Good beers and food very close to the Manhattan Center in Madison Square Garden
Natalie is the best. What a wonderful server!! She was so helpful and kind and witty. I enjoyed her being our server. Please ask for her, she’s the best!
1st time there. Not my last Conveint location for travelers using Penn or GCS. Ordered food for the table and just picked. Server was fine with it. Gave us all plates a napkins. There is more formal dining at this establishment. Definitely going black
Not too crowded here but the location is nicely setup. Had a great time chatting with the bartenders Conner and Kaitlin. The location also has a lot of TVs for watching sports. The garlic chicken wings I ordered were way too sweet but besides that I did enjoy my little time here. So nice Im here again actually. I would suggest if you have some layover time before your LIRR train, that you stop here.
We had the Buffalo Macn Cheese, delicious. Good service.
Burger was delicious. Lobster fettuccine was very tasty. The ranch appears to made in house, as it doesnt taste commercial. Very tasty. We are going again for lunch tomorrow!Pricing is VERY reasonable, and the food surpassed all expectations.
On holiday with my wife in NYC so went in for a drink and paid cash.We left and we’re walking down the road when the barman comes chasing after us, shouting for us to go in and pay for our drinks. We’d already paid him cash.I told him that and he said we hadn’t. He was very rude and aggressive and kept insisting we had not paid even though he was the person who took our money. This went on for a bit so I showed him the receipt and he apologised.Don’t know why I kept the receipt but glad I did.
Nice pub with fast bartenders. Live music was also super fun.
Very nice place ! Perfect for drinks after work with your friends and colleagues. Great largest place for an Halloween or office events . Loved the vibe, atmosphere and the decorations , really great place. Good selection of drafts on tap and the food service is great. Clean and organized. Friendly staff and professional.
Best atmosphere we experienced our entire trip in New York would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a warmer bar scene and great food.
Its a cool spot, but I was here for a corporate event and while the food was pretty good for catering style, the bartender was rude and lazy.
Visited 3 times during our 4 day stay in NY. Great friendly service and atmosphere. Even just to pop in for a quiet one to get away from the bustling 8 Ave. @Jack - thanks the great service.
I stopped by today for the first time for lunch. This place is awesome. I was so warmly greeted when I walked in and my waitress Madison was very friendly and attentive. Everything I ordered starting with the Bloody Mary to the Lobster Fettuccine was utterly fantastic. Everything is made to order and I didnt have a long wait time. The restaurant itself looks immaculately clean and well maintained, which is important during these times. I recommend this place and I will most certainly be back again!
Fab place, great food and atmosphereNatalie our waitress was brilliant
I attended this bar for a private party (upstairs). Downstairs looked a bit small, but was much more roomy upstairs (upstairs was AT LEAST double in size/space). The outside area surrounding the establishment (Saturday night) was quite trashy, but that likely has to do with its extremely close proximity to Penn Station, and the establishment shouldnt be punished for that. Inside, was nice, clean, and spacious. Almost an oasis from the chaotic madness going on outside.
Solid spot for watching sports. Fresh beats by DJ Jedi
Florida Gator bar that’s super close to MSG and Penn Station which are major pluses. It clean and spacious with two floor and a private room. The food was typical bar food (nothing special). Check it out!!
Lovely place .. busy at peak times and Ryan our server was amazing definitely worth a visit .Food was reasonably priced
Solid Irish Bar. Reasonable prices.
Good food. Quick service. Reasonable prices. Clean.
Great food and wonderful service. Actual Irish bartenders who know their stuff. Totally recommendable.
Great place to meet before a show at MSG.
Great spot, Kaitlyn helped us out. Cant miss going here if you have tickets to an event at MSG.
Pot pie was good and the restaurant was really nicely decorated for Christmas. However it was really busy and we were in the middle of dinner when they roped off the section we were sitting in and started a company Christmas party. Pretty awkward end of the evening with random strangers standing all around us and socializing while we tried to flag down a waitress for the check.
Bangers and Mash was great (the first Ive had), as was the Fish and Chips.Service was attentive and polite.Overall a very good experience.
The food and service were excellent!! I had a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado, tomato, lemon aioli on what may have been a soft sourdough bread and side salad with a balsamic dressing. It was all super delish! The chicken was marinated to perfection and the other ingredients were very fresh. Who knew a sandwich could taste that good. My husband had the nachos and said they were great. They also had a soccer game on the TV monitors and it wasnt disruptive to our dining experience. This is a really nice and clean casual place to eat near Penn Station. We will be back.
Place nice and clean only had a drink .Tip service very high had choice to pay 25%,20%or 18% lot to pay for one drink .
We came here to have a lunch before visiting the city, the food was good but I think we came at an unlucky timing, the service was very slow : more than 30mins to get our food but thats still ok (slow, but ok), the worse is the dessert : we litteraly waited more than one hour just to get told that they dont have apple pie anymore. Since we already waited 1 hour we ordered something else and asked for 3 espressos to be served with it, that was another 30mins of waiting, and the espressos were served cold... But we spent enough time here to ask for hot coffee... At least the check did get to us fast.I still gave full tip to the waitress as she wasnt faulty for all the issues, but considering how bad the service was most businesses would have offered the coffee as a compensation... Here we only got apologies from the poor waitress that couldnt do anhthing about it.Its probably a good place to drink, the bar has a great atmosphere, but to eat I would not recommend it, the food is pretty good but its not worth the wait.
Drinks were good. The truffle fries are regular, cheap bagged fries from the supermarket, deep fried with parmesan on top - not real grated cheese. The fries got cold and we didnt even eat them ($ down the drain). The goat cheese pizza was simple and lacked taste. The clam chowder had to be canned soup or bagged soup since Im sure they buy in bulk. Maybe the dinner option is better but the bar food was terrible.
Amazing calamars and the pasta lobster! Don’t miss this Place
Great location to gather as a group. We do happy hours as a team and are always able to reserve space. Good cocktail and food selection as well
I checked out this place at the end of the night for a quick drink. The bar is large and elegantly decorated, with a number of TVs along the walls playing sports. They have an average selection of beers on tap.
Great Irish band playing when we visited July 2024-and Angry orchards Cider!
Ive set up several events for my community here. They are by far the best place Ive worked with! They are wonderful, accommodating, efficient and all around amazing. We have had 3 parties and a Christmas social so far and all of them a great success. I love the easiness of the location as well, members from all over the 5 boroughs can easily make it. Yey to more parties here!
We stopped here on one of our expeditions around Hells kitchen and it was just the pick me up we needed. Clean, friendly wait staff with a modern flair to a historic dive bar. Definitely a Manhattan style dive bar. If I lived in the city this would be a definite go to place to meet up and get started.
Had a big and tasty order of fish and chips at the U shaped bar. The upstairs is surprisingly spacious, with two rooms and two more full bars (would be great for parties). Fantastic new pub. I hope it goes well.
Im an old guy. A place teeming with loud, already fairly drunk 20-somethings doesnt appeal. I walked in. I walked out.My understanding is that at other times of the day its quite welcoming, and food and drink of a decent standard. But for happy hour, it was too happy...
The food tonight was really great! The lobster pasta was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. Very cool atmosphere too. Will definitely be back
Good food and great atmosphere. There was a band playing at one of the tables.
Great food great service and very attractive waitresses
Food was mediocre and overpriced. Service was not any better. Would not go back they again.
Nice pub with a relaxed feel, just outside of the main hustle and bustle of time square and Broadway.
Great Irish/American fare in a good atmosphere. Solid drinks and service staff. The place to be.
A trip to New York for business with a colleague, and friend. We found ourselves here for the final night, afyer eating out, sat at the bar on stools, exchanging stories and drinking draft beers 🍻. Excellent bar, lively atmosphere, terrific service. Will be back, one day ... I hope. 🙏
Caution - server will offer you a refill on your Coke. Each one is not free, its $3 plus tax and tip! Lesson for me - $27 worth of soda. Fried chicken sandwich incinerated beyond recognition. Tourist trap.
Good location and service. It’s an Irish pub/restaurant setting so nothing too fancy. I’d come back again.
Nice food and beverages. Several TVs with sports channels. Friendly service. Gets noisy on a Saturday night 😉
Friendly place! The staff is great!
Great place to enjoy before the game...
A great pub, with a nice atmosphere and great hours. A truly nice place to head into when its late and everywhere is closing or closed. Great value too.Nice wines and great tasting Negronis.
Quiet Irish themed bar and pub near The New Yorker hotel. Many tvs with live sports.
I love this place and will miss it so much ! ❤️
Happened to walk past one day and decided to stop in. such a beautiful bar. Collum was super nice and he even gave me a tour of the upstairs. i came in really late after work so i dont know what the food is like but the drinks are awesome. definitely coming back.
Arrived at 11 being referred by our concierge who informed us that the kitchen at Tailor closed late. We were ignored by waiters for 20 min after sitting at our table. We finally asked for service and were informed that we need to order at the bar. We speak to the bar tender who starts busy asking what we want to drink and mid sentence rushes off to get us drinks befor we can tell him what we want to eat. He returned with drinks and when we tell him we also wanted food he tells us kitchen is closed.
We visited a few times as it was very close to our hotel, very good fast service. We didnt eat here but looked good when served to others.
Received the wrong drink. I pushed on it but ultimately just kept the drink as the waitress insisted it was correct. I passed it around the table and everyone agreed it was not what I ordered. (I don’t like carbonation. I was brought a Sierra Mist instead of a lemonade.
I am a security officer who works next door to this bar. There would be a customer or group of customers who would block the doors where I cannot access to the building every weekend. If there would be a fire, and must have an evacuation, I am hitting their heads with the door! It’s common sense to loiter somewhere else and not block a business building.
Good place for having great beers!
I ordered poutine fries and french onion soup. Both was good, the soup was a little bit salty
Decent pub/bar spot in Times Square area. The food was ok and good portions. Our server didnt know they had garlic bread. The runner gladly got me some when he forgot to bring out the bread the waitress ordered. The crown was older, with some younger adults sprinkled. Wouldnt make my first option next time, but I would go back for drinks and bar food.
Maryland crake cake not worth it had better more filler than meat but tasty Pot pie had lot of rosemary taste chicken was dry, truffle fries was ok but not impressed, chicken sandwich good, bangers and mash was tasty price was ok
The food is mediocre. I got the chicken sandwich that had very little taste. The fries were completely unseasoned. It then made sense why the waiter asked if we needed ketchup.
Very nice bar , lovely cosy interior, nice friendly staff, drinks on the pricey side considering its in a really bad area, and we didnt get a buy back, so we left
Good for the mahattan price.Fresh and delicious
Absolutely great Irish gastro pub...Great location...fantastic friendly staff...food was flauable ☘️☘️☘️
The food was hot and delicious. Service was fast friendly and attentive. Great value too!
Just a wonderful atmosphere. They have a few good bars they are very friendly.
You have good places to enjoy your drink.Lives music with good artists, tv for watching sports event, and enjoy your drink
Went into this bar recently to see if we could have seats and watch the Boxing, there was a young women who welcomed us and nothing was to much trouble.Really lovely place and food was banging! Will definetly recommend 👍
Went here at 02:52, bar was closed and people were sitting inside. Nobody let us in
My sisters and I were searching for a spot to eat lunch. We stumbled upon this restaurant and figured to give it a try.We ordered wings and mac n cheese with lobster. The wings were tasty. However. The mac n cheese is legit boxed Kraft mac n cheese. It was disgusting! Has the manager tasted their entire menu? Um, probably not!For lunch, I ordered Italian sausage flatbread. I asked the waitress to add cremini mushrooms to the flatbread. Yall, I ate 4 bites on purpose to find where the italian sausage was placed. It was nowhere to be found?? (Was it minced lol) there was no seasoning on the eggplant, etc. I was hugely disappointed!! Do not. I repeat do not eat here. This establishment has no idea what their food taste like. NYC is too expensive to waste money on tasteless food!
Staff were rude and unprofessional. Very very disappointing experience. Will not be returning.
Great place for a drink and bite.
Theyre very courteous and an outside peaceful setting.
Great turkey burger, 4 stars for the burger, it was delicious! Draft list fine, all the beers tasted a bit stale… wouldn’t go back
This place was so on point I went back for a second meal there in a week. The chef doesnt just deliver bar food you would anticipate, he elevates your experience by offering fine dining caliber Lobster Fettuccine. It was incredible delicious and perfectly prepared. Drinks were delicious as well. The staff gave great service both visits and each visit had its on challenge. The first visit it was packed down and upstairs on a Wednesday night. The next visit was a Monday night and they were training a new bartender thats all we will say about that. Maybe skip the Flatbread and go for the wings. We will definitely return if and when we find ourselves in NYC. Highly recommend.
Went here for a few drinks and some snacks. Prices are really good. We got a seat at the bar and it gets really packed. So packed that some people behind us offered to buy us a round to get the seats after us. I’m not hinting anything though…
Johnny was great during outdoor dining and drinks during the pandemic. He entertained and made those drinks the way an Irishman should. Was a regular while living in city and will return one day.
I saw this place as I was walking to my hotel from Penn station, and after I checked into my room I dropped in for dinner. I was delighted to find out that they had live Scottish/Irish music (a pair of fiddlers,a guitar and a clogger, apparently a new Tuesday night thing), and it was really quite good! The food was also delicious (I had a burger and a Guinness), the service extremely quick and attentive, and the ambiance that of a typical pub.
Great food, great service, warm atmosphere, and the televisions were not over whelming. Sports were playing but not with audio. Instead, the music selection was upbeat and fun. Loved it!
I love this place because its very close to the garden the people are friendly the guinness is cold and the services great We had 45 minutes before the billy joel Concert we were able to get In-N-Out thank you again Ill be back. :)
A typical pub. Loud and a lot of people. Hamburger is good. Just the beginning of n is boring. Waiters are very nice. Beers are good.
Great bar! Ivan is an amazing and attentive waiter that kept us happy all night. Great music and service. 10 out of 10. Will come back again and again!
Good atmosphere! Just got drinks and French fries. French fries were not very flavorful.
Nice atmosphere but im 50/50 on going again. Drinks are pricey and the drinks were wrong twice. Idk if I will go back maybe last minute. But not first choice.
3.5 really. Its new, need to iron out some kinks and make the food less bland. Dont get me wrong, food was good just not seasoned. Theyve only four months in. Ill go back in a few and post progress. Staff great. Worth a stop in
Stopped off on my way exploring the city for a quick appetizer and drink. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. They recommended some of the small plates and I chose the crab cake. It came with one and a small salad so the plate wasn’t so lonely. Food was great and selection of bourbon was decent enough for a quick stop.
Great server but average food and a rowdy atmosphere
Nice place. Had a private event upstairs. Little hard to find where it was on second floor, but did.Mens bathroom sink faucett was broken. Had to use other bathroom to wash hands. Disappointed.
Great pub with Freindly helpful bar staff jackie and the other girls where easy to talk to and it was right next to my hotel so called in several times on my visit to the big apple.
The Salmon with Spinach, dont remember the name on the menu. However, it was delicious and I cleaned my plate. Service friendly and helpful on a Saturday afternoon.Super awesome.
Been here 4 times in our 9 day stay, fantastic place😊😊
That’s a good pub, unpretentious, comfortable. Not many craft beers, but pretty good ones.
Good food, happy people that just want to watch a game and have a beer
Great place to hang out and wait for your train. The Manhattan was good and the chicken pot pie really hit the spot. The bartenders were really nice and attentive. Would stop in again.
The drinks and service, and atmosphere were excellent.
Chicken sandwich was good, though a little dry. Steak sandwich was also good. Effective waitstaff and reasonable prices for that part of the City
Nice place. Clean and well appointed. Menu could be better, possibly more options. Bartenders very friendly.
Ordered a Moscow mule and received the flattest Moscow mule Ive ever tasted and the worse part is that they told me and my fiance that they didnt have mint for Mojitos and less than 30 minutes later they literally passed a Mojito in front of us, so either they lied or they somehow grew some mint in that time frame
Great food, excellent service.
Probably the best kept beer in New York, plus friendly service from the bar staff.
Solid midtown pub. One of my “go to” spotswhen in the area.
Been to this spot a few times before various events at MSG. Good food. Good service. Never feels too crowded even when there are lots of people inside.
I made reservations for 12/13/19 for my birthday, and when I arrived with my guests was told still had to wait! The whole point of making reservations is so you dont have to wait! Left and went somewhere else where I didnt have to wait or need a reservation.
Food and drinks were excellent and the service was great! So refreshing these days!! Highly recommend!!
Amazing food, great atmosphere, the bartender and server were so great!! Went to get food late on the Sunday before Labor Day, 1030 pm just before close. Service was fast, food was 10/10 we ordered blackened shrimp tacos, crab cakes, and medium rare burger which was done to perfection. We shared all of the food and will definitely go back and recommend this place to everyone. Casual clothes or you can dress us and either way youll fit in great. Sports on TV but also low lighting and romantic feel. Perfect combo in my opinion. Only thing I recommend to the restaurant is to put a seat yourself sign when appropriate because we werent sure about that when we walked in (there was a hostess stand) and we saw a couple leave and comment that no one ever sat us so they left.
Food was phenomenal and staff was fantastic! Went twice in 2 days. Would highly recommend.
Last night a group of my friends who have frequented the Tailor for about three weeks ago and to go.One person who was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt was denied entry because he didnt fit the dress code. However immediately after that they let a person who was wearing a wife beater and shorts was allowed entry. He, however was white and our friend is a person of color. Later we called to ask if there was a dress code. There is no dress code. Then another friend of ours tried to come into the bar to fetch those already inside was denied entrance. He is visually impaired and walks with a white walking stick. He was told he wasnt allowed entrance because he might run into other patrons. The bouncer and then the manager told us these are both Tailor House policy. The bouncer then almost hit someone who wasnt even trying to get in.The management of this establishment is both RACIST and ALBEIST. Both these actions taken are illegal and immoral.DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS.Also their gimlet sucks.
Good british pub in Manhattan. Enjoyed my Sheppards Pie.
