We celebrated our 32nd anniversary on the last night visiting NYC for the week. Lips was just right. Heidi Ho was hosting. She was fun, energetic and engaging! The food was amazing. Seriously, the BEST Salmon Ive ever had in my life! Our drag waitress was Lauren and she was very hospitable and attentive. She also did a great drag number! Will visit again next time we are in NYC!
A fabulous experience! We went for the Saturday brunch and show. I had expected the food to be mediocre and the drinks watered-down. But to my delight, the waffles that came with fresh berries and syrup were delicious. My friends omelet was in point. The drinks were strong and kept coming. The show was a lot of fun with sashaying and dancing queens and risque banter. Miz O was my favorite. She embodied Whitney Houston! The staff was friendly and attentive. The hostesses will exchange larger bills for one dollar bills for you to give the dancers. People who were celebrating birthdays and engagements were given crowns. It was a lot of fun and I would go back.
Came here with my friends for their Christmas show it was an awesome vibe food was great drinks are great everything about this place was really fun
We went to Lips for their December Christmas Broadway Brunch, and it was an absolutely fantastic time! Every visit to Lips is a celebration, but this one was extra special as we brought my 81-year-old mother for her birthday, as well as my son and his boyfriend. The talent and energy of the performers are always incredible, and they never fail to get the crowd engaged and excited. Lips is truly a place where everyone—from 8 to 80—can feel included and have a blast. The atmosphere is unmatched, filled with laughter, joy, and fun. What makes Lips stand out even more is the warmth and kindness of everyone who works there. From the busboys to the floor captains, every single person is welcoming and attentive. A huge shoutout to Ginger Snaps and Shiny Penny, who went above and beyond to make my mom feel special on her birthday. They even assisted her when she needed help moving around, which was so thoughtful and kind. The Christmas Broadway Brunch was nothing short of magical. The festive performances, vibrant atmosphere, and attention to detail made it an unforgettable experience for everyone in our group. My son and his boyfriend had a fantastic time too—it’s truly a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can feel at home.If you’re looking for a unique, inclusive, and joyous experience, Lips is the place to go. We’ve been here many times, and every visit somehow gets better and better. Highly recommended for any celebration—or just a fun day out!We can’t wait to come back! 💖
I cant say enough good things about LIPS! i went for a friends birthday with a huge party of people (19) and they were so accommodating to all of us! the show itself was so fun, great music selections and had all of us DYING of laughter. the food was amazing too! everyone in the place looked absolutely beautiful and you could tell how much love, care, and passion is put into every performance. 10/10!!
I had so much fun at Sundays broadway drag show! They kept the drinks coming and the queens were fantastic. So much fun and would love to go back! #LipsNYCFood was just alright but we were there for the drinks and the drag so no complaints from me!
Girls weekend must see. The meal was great, the drinks were on point & the show was absolutely fabulous. Great vipe & so much fun. It is what NYC is all about, an all around great time.
It’s impossible to not have a fun night out here. The food was surprisingly good, with something for everyone. Drinks were popular, too. They also bring shots around. The entertainers were all super funny and did a great job riffing with my kids for their birthday.
We went in with no expectations because it was our first drag show but wow was it a super exciting experience! the food (in reference to the main entree, the salad and cookies on the other hand, were nothing special) was surprisingly very delicious and so were the drinks. drinks were a little expensive but as are most places that serve alcohol at a show. you also get a cute lip shaped shot glass to keep as a souvenir. a super fun first time experience, definitely recommend going with friends, as a girls night out, or events like birthday/bachelor/bachelorette parties as they have a special moment for brides, grooms, and people who are celebrating their birthdays. our host was lovely and all the staff were very attentive! just note the mandatory 20% gratuity added on the bill already.
Came here for the NYE drag show. It was very fun, my first show in New York. The food was good, it came out quite fast and the steak size was huge but undercooked. I had the salmon (although it said char on the menu) and it was quite good. The polenta was the best Ive had. We did feel rushed as the show was going to start but it was a good hearty meal. The show was good, all the queens had playlists that were themed.Afterwards the celebration for new years was quite fun and the staff looked to be having a fantastic time.
My First time here and it was a cool experience. Went for a buddys Birthday Celebration. The food was good, hot, fresh the space was a little tight on the evening that I was there but it appears that everyone was having a nice time. The drag host was kind, funny and continued to ensure our needs was met. The bar is located to the right and the bathrooms was located upstairs. A comfortable place for All
I’ve been to LIPS 4 times now and every experience has been great! Not one show has been identical - so it’s a great place to bring friends who have never been.Food is good! It’s not a 5 star experience, but for a pre fixed menu, it’s fantastic! I’ve always finished every meal. Staff and performers are so much fun and so talented! We dance, laugh and thoroughly enjoy ourselves every time!
This place definitely has great crazy vibes lol! You definitely come here for the unlimited mimosas and show! I had a blast and definitely recommend it if you’ve never been to a drag queen show.
The Broadway Brunch was so fun! Ginger Snap was a riot and so talented. We celebrated my upcoming wedding and she made me feel very special. I went with family members and it was a lot of their first time seeing drag and they all LOVED it. The drinks are nonstop, the food is nothing to write home about, but the queens are stellar. I couldnt recommend Lips more!
Oh my God I had such a great time celebrating my birthday, 58 years old. My sister flew in from Florida took me there because she knows I love to be extra hence that’s why my name is Miss Diva.😌 I got up there and sang even though I can’t sing🥴 #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
I loved their show i just went on my bday which was Xmas eve they made my day feel so special I felt upset because only one person from my party showed up I will be back the other ppl next to me made me feel special as well the food was ok thank u guys so much
Love being there for the Drag show. Amazing performance. Its awesome for celebrations but its prices. Prepare to dive deep into your pocket for this amazing experience.
We visited to have some fun, and we did! I loved the burger i ordered. The drag queens were such a great treat, giving us so much reason to be happy and feel great! They exude a cheerful vibe and share a lot of tummy aching humor 😂
LOVED IT!!! Such a fun dinner. Food was better than expected, drinks were strong and reasonably priced. 20% tip is automatically included but you can ask them to remove it (but honestly those ladies deserve every penny!!!) Minimum age to enter is 16 for anyone wondering.
Lips is happening! If your celebrating a birthday, why not celebrate it here. Youll get a gold crown and get to get your photo taken with 2 lovelies. Our gorgeous waitress resembled Marilyn Monroe, we tried the steak and eggs, cheeseburgers and chicken and waffles. We were satisified and happy with our Brunch. We will definitely be returning. Lips is open for dinner and Sunday brunch. Reservations are required. No deliveries Lips is located at 227 E. 56th, New York City. Dont forget to bring $1s :)
On 9/22/24 I got together with my friends to celebrate my BFF 60th Birthday. Tonya Boone and she had a amazing time. The entire staff were amazing and she had a blast. Thank you for making her trip back to NY a memorable one
The food is amazing the drag queen are your servers, and they do perform as well .. my favorite drag queen is the Puerto Rican queen .she preformed Jlo songs . She is wear the light green dress I’m not sure her name but she amazing .
Had a wonderful time with my family. It was there first time my second n it didn’t disappoint. These women work really hard to perform in front of a crowd I’m all for giving credit and the support it deserves!! Ladies always do fabulous! And for those people in the comment nit picking get real! I love lips and will of course come back for a 3rd time!!! Thank you ladies for your service and entertainment!
We’ve come here a couple times and it’s just the most amazing experience. Everyone works so hard to make it such a great show, amazing drinks, and great food, all within such a fun, eclectic, sparkly atmosphere. Worth the trip!!!!!
Roxy our server was so sweet and attentive. Then when she took stage she was fierce! We loved everyone that performed and that was working that night. The made my daughter’s 18th birthday so fun. The food is so so, the drinks are strong and tasty, but we all know you are there for the show and they don’t disappoint you! We did the glamour show on Saturday night. I highly recommend it!
100 percent recommend this place for brunch, the food and unlimited mimosas isn’t awesome but decent. However the price is all for the awesome drag queen performance, they are talented and entertain to watch. I really enjoy the performance. Remember to bring a bunch of dollar bill to support the drag queen. If you don’t have dollar bill, no worries you can exchange for dollar bill at the counter
We walked in as two people on a Saturday night and they kindly seated us with no drinks minimum but the drinks were so good we ended up getting many anyway! The queens are amazing, the bartenders are so kind.
Had an amazing time at Lips during my bachelorette weekend celebration and can’t wait to go back in the future!
Queens were hilarious, talented and so very kind! They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome, especially my teenage boy and girl. When my daughter gathered all of her courage to sing karaoke for the very first time ever, Shiny Penny handed out tambourines and Freeda Kulo gave her a prize. They made her feel like a million bucks. January and Avant Garbage took good care of us too. Small intimate venue felt like hanging out with old friends. Food is delicious. I recommend the chocolate cake for dessert! Fun and memorable night. Well be back for sure!
One of THE best drag brunches I’ve ever been to! The queens turn it all the way out. Mz. O was just outrageously talented, an absolute highlight of our trip!
Had a really bad experience my first time here. We werent last in line, but for some reason my group of 4 was seated way in the back of the room, past the bar. We couldnt see the show, the drag queens never really came back to our corner during the dances, our view was constantly blocked by people standing at the bar getting drinks. The queens were great, drinks were good, food was ok. But our experience was really awful due to where we were seated and I cant believe they would charge full price for the seats we got. Would not return based on this experience.
1000000% love love love - we came here to have some fun and leave all our stress behind to be entertained by a few girls and that we did - price is extremely fair for the entertainment and food we got - Tiffany and co was our host and she was absolutely gracious and welcoming and checking in on us all the time - really enjoyed it - this is a must for anyone visiting New York especially for birthdays and bachelorette parties - will definitely come back
Lips was such a great experience! I went with a bunch of my friends and family for my nineteenth birthday and we had the best time! When you book a reservation for your special occasion, you get to go up on stage and two of the queens usually crack jokes and then you get to take a picture with them and receive a brownie with a candle! The music and dancing were super entertaining, and the food was great—everyone in my party was pleased and we generally have high expectations so I’m not sure what all the fuss is about in some of the other reviews. I wasn’t old enough to drink at the time so I cannot speak to those. The staff was incredibly friendly and the queens were so much fun to be around. I can’t wait to go back once my friends are all twenty-one!
This place was absolutely amazing! I loved every minute of the show, the host kept us laughing, and the bartender kept us ordering! parmesan crusted chicken, pear martinis! Everything was amazing! Must return for brunch #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
SUCH A GOOOOOD SHOW!!Had so much fun with my girlfriends. The food was surprisingly really good!!MAKE SURE TO TIP!!!!
What to sayAmazing showSoSoSo funnyI loved everythingThe only negative thing is that the show finish early around 22:30To do if u are in NYC
It was amazing… Ginger Snap, Empress and Penny were Top Tier… A time was had…,
Why can’t I go above 5 stars for service and atmosphere?! This was such an amazing start to a Sunday! Amazing music choices and performances!! Shiny Penny was the sweetest and amazing table service while also performing an EPIC song! Ginger Snap, the host, was hilarious. Will be back to NYC strictly for this show.
This place was recommended to us, and we thought it would be fun.It was awful, the food was rushed, and bland, the entertainment was a joke, and the whole thing is just about how much money they can get off you, i.e tips.Classic, have a drink u didnt order for free but it will be on the bill at the end? However the icing on the cake was the 20% additional surcharge, that is discretionary, however if you dispute this, all hell breaks loose.Dont waste your time or money!
Does anyone even come here for food? Which was nice anyway. We went for a late night show for my birthday, it was amazing! We couldn’t stop laughing! It’s a must visit place when you’re in New York. It was one of the best moments of our trip. And I don’t think it’s expensive, prices of food and drinks are same as in different places around.
Amazing experience, atmosphere, queens, drinks & food! thank you so much lips nyc 💋
The atmosphere was so gorgeous, Performers were great. They brought around dollar bills so that you could tip the performers- I didn’t have to worry about stopping at the ATM, which was great. The Caesar salad was tasty. Our server was “shiny penny” She was fabulous we loved her! I would definitely go back
I enjoyed myself. The wait to get in was longer than expected cause of how packed the last shows were. You have to order drinks and food before the show starts. Yes you have to pay a cover (dirty show 11:30pm $15) but it will be on your bill instead of paying at the door. The food was basic but necessary cause the drinks are ON POINT AND STRONG. the show was fun, lots of jokes, skits, and singing. I will go back and bring others too but expect to spend about $50+ per person and thats 1 meal 1 drink and the entry fee plus if you get any extras throughout the show. O plus to go up on stage to interact with the queens it is $15. enjoy luv
The Queens and all the staff were AMAZING and top notch! I came to NYC to celebrate my Bachelorette Party and we came to LIPS for dinner! An AMAZING show was performed and the food & drinks were so delicious! We will DEFINITELY be back! Thank you QUEENS and staff 💖
I took my work child for their 21st birthday. This show was GREAT!! The food was OUTSTANDING! The girls were gorgeous and Morgan was hilarious 😂MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW!!
We had a great time! So much fun! They were all talented and funny! #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
DO NOT GO HERE!!! I would not recommend, our bill was over $400 and the show was literally just the drag queens collecting money to bills.
I had my 23RD birthday celebration here tonight and I had the time of my life. I enjoyed the show and the dinner. I went solo and thought it would be awkward but it was not. Everyone was so kind and the food was delicious.Thank you Lips NYC for a great time, my birthday night was the best!
The experience was astonishing was my first time here with my girlfriend chai it was her 24th bday I honestly wasn’t expecting this kind of entertainment and enthusiasm it was off the charts we plan on coming next year for her 25th so see you guys their
If you like food and drag queens, this is the place for you. The food our group got was great. The show was entertaining and had lots of crowd participation. Would definitely go again next time Im in the city.
Fabulous! So much fun, so many laughs, so many mimosas! We went to Lips Broadway Boozy Brunch for my girlfriends 50th Birthday party. It was nonstop fun through the whole experience. The place is set up with the typical tight, long tables- if youre claustrophobic you should sit at the back. The waitresses tease you in the way only a drag queen can, but all in good fun.The MC who kept everything interesting and moving along was a good comedian AND one of the (lip) singers. All of the waitresses were also (lip) singers. They were entertaining, funny, and very happy to accept tips- so bring a bunch of singles! If youre not inclined to that, they have a tip bucket at the end of the show.So we had a party of 12 and guess what- everyone LOVED their food! The menu had assorted breakfast and lunch options (brunch, duh) and they were all good. Did I mention mimosas!? Unlimited with brunch.Lots of people were there celebrating birthdays and bachelorette parties. Crowd was mostly female but some guys too (the guys definitely get more attention from the singers!) Parking at their partner lot was only a block away and only $15 with the validation. Very safe area.I cant wait to go back!
SO MUCH FUN. The Queens here really know how to put on a show! It was a great experience and I only wish it lasted longer! Price for value was spot on for Sunday brunch and I wish I could come more often but we are just visiting! Thank you for an amazing time especially to our waitress (I think twiggy? 😬 dont hate me for not remembering your name please!! You were amazing and made our experience perfect)!
We had the cheeseburger and the chicken breast. Both were very delicious.Great Upbeat atmosphere the cast is awesome.
The food was okay, the mimosas werent that strong but they give you the refills right away. Other than that, the show, ambience, attention was EXTRAORDINARY. We had a lot of fun. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANY OCCASION.
I was here yesterday. It was my first time and I cant describe how great this place is. My friends and I had a great time. I will definitely be back. Thanks for making my birthday the best. Cheers to all the drag queens. Ill be back soon. Sincerely, Margie.
Always such a great time and great drag!!!
Absolutely amazing performances. I highly recommend. Oh, and the food is good too.
Parmesan Chicken was good I’m recommendingSteak wasn’t tenderDrinks - okayAll was funny but we don’t come back 😋
+ food was ok- felt like a ripoff. 90% of every show consisted of the drag queens walking around collecting money from the audience- super loud- some of the staff members were rude. We didn‘t feel very welcomeAll in all, a very underwhelming experience for that price. It feels very awkward to sit there while the drags keep running back and forth to collect tips from the audience after what felt like a 20 second performance
Great time here, the ladies of the show are awesome and entertaining.
We had a really good time here.. our hostess skyler was the best !! Good food great drinks and lots of laughs
A tad expensive for a drag brunch, but fun atmosphere, good performers and thankful to have it in the neighborhood!
Great drag show. Over the top decorations everywhere. Good performances. Good costumes.
Everything about this place is wonderful and amazing. The synergy when you walk in is off the charts. Jessica was just as excited to be there as we were for our first time. Shinny Penny was the bessssst I loved their performance and their service. They are so funny and GORGEOUS !! Best show ever. If you’re hesitating don’t do it. It’s worth it!!
Was so much fun! Brought my mom and her friends here for her birthday and we had a blast! #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Lips is my happy place :) I have been coming to lips since I was literally 10 years old I’m 25 now!! This place is everything to me. Give these queens all your coins. The queens stay slaying, the food stays slapping and the atmosphere is boots down. Miss Tiffany Anne Coke gagged my whole existence I love her she’s a real one fr
The show was great and funny. The food was great except for my main dinner, the curried vegetables. They had no flavor, but that was the only downside. The drag queens were great and all had different talents from dancing to comedy to singing.
It’s not cheap (you kind of need to order a drink on top of the $59 dinner, and 20% gratuity is automatically added), but it’s worth it! They’ll make sure your birthday/bachelorette is well celebrated. Also don’t worry about not having small bills, they’ll offer exchange before the show.
We went here yesterday for my girlfriend’s birthday and we had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! The queens were fabulous and so much fun!! We will definitely be back!
I brought my nieces here since it was their first time in New York, and they wanted to go to a drag queen show. Everyone there was nice and our server was great. We went on a Firday night so we did the $59 special which includes the show, a salad, your entrée, and a dessert. At first I thought the price was very reasonable especially since it included three different courses. No complaints with the salad and our entrées. The desserts consist of cupcakes and cookies. The cupcakes were good. The cookies were good but it did have a fondant on the top that took away from the taste of the cookie. It was unfortunate that the price did not include a drink besides water. My nieces absolutely loved the show. It was all they talked about after we left. The only downside was 20% gratuity included in our bill. Most places Ive been to include gratuity for larger groups such as 5 or more people not for 3 people. Our bill came out to $233 for about an hour and 15 minute show. This includes an added on ginger ale and no alcohol beverages. I will say as much as my nieces enjoyed the show and the food was good. I cant justify taking them back and paying that price again. The taxes and mandatory gratuity were a huge turn off.
A great way to celebrate a special occasion with lots of laughs, music, audience participation and lots of pizazz!
AMAZING!!! Chicken ala vodka was very delicious and the show was fantastic. We enjoyed our time here. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good time
We had an absolute BLAST at Twisted Broadway! Penny was our server and she was Devine, so attentive, genuine, welcoming and beautiful! The show was FUN, we enjoyed the vibes!! It was a very hot day/night so my son and I decided to have a night out on the town with the most Fabulous Queens in NYC!!! We had the meals with the show, and we each had a few drinks. Of course bring cash or get it there to tip the talented performers! I had The lobster ravioli, the sauce is so delicious. My son had the chicken parm with mashed potatoes and he absolutely loved it absolutely loved it! We each ordered a specialty drink which we both enjoyed! The only reason I give the food a 4 is because Ive had homemade lobster ravioli and the salad although tasted great, could have been better with fresh shaved Parm. But it was so good though!! I will go back if Im able to when visiting NYC!!🪅👑🏳️🌈🫶🏼🍹💞🧁👏🏼😋
I LOVE LIPS!! This is my second time coming to this show. My waitress was beautiful and fabulous! The show was excellent and so was the food, and drinks. It was my sisters birthday and ( for an extra fee) she was given a crown, called on stage during the show for a birthday shout-out. They gave her a cupcake with a birthday candle and she took a picture with the performers. My girls and I had a great time.
I visited here for dinner for my friend birthday.Let’s talk about the food…the food was not worth $79.00.I ordered the jumbo shrimp Alfredo it was cold and half cooked 🤢🤢. The dessert was stale cookies . The show was pretty ok to me since it was my first drag queen experience we had a back table near the entrance so we didn’t have a clear view of the performances but we still had an enjoyable time . We received our bill at the end and noticed that we had a $121.00 gratitude added without our permission, we asked our waitress ‘ ALL BEEF PATTY’ to remove it and she did . When we were getting up from our table to leave we was told by ‘ALL BEEF PATTY’ not to come back because she did not receive the tip amount that she expected to. P.S THE GHETTO
The show was great. I was laughing and dancing the whole night. The girls looked so beautiful. The food was okay that’s why I gave it 4 stars. We did the prefixed menu which comes with Caesar salad, entree, sugar cookies and red velvet cupcakes for 42 dollars drinks not included. I got the salmon for my entree the sauce on top was very good but the salmon itself could have used more seasoning. It was supposed to come with jasmine rice but it came with potatoes which were very good. The drinks are not included except water. I ordered the cosmopolitans they said it was sweet and it was not kind of bitter actually. The red velvet cupcakes were good but the sugar cookies did not they fondant icing on them that tasted nasty and made the cookies really hard.
I absolutely love this place. Celebrated here for my bday. Food great, drinks great and the entertainment is fabulous. I will definitely be visiting here again.
You will be taken care of here! The performers are obviously skilled and polished in their acts, and everyone is warm and accepting and welcoming. If you were looking for a drag brunch, you will not be disappointed by going to Lips. We were in town for my birthday this weekend and where we had made our other reservations, unfortunately had to cancel our reservations last minute. But Lips immediately got us in and from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left treated us like we were special and welcome guests. Even giving me a Birthday card with a printed photo with the host and another of the performers. The wait staff and bus staff were like a well oiled machine and the mimosas and bloody Marys were truly bottomless! Will absolutely come back the next time we visit.
So many firsts the last few days!! Its a wifey vacation for the books!! My bestie gets me on the plane for the first time, New York for the first time and she takes me to my very first drag show (even thought Ive lived in Portland FOREVER!) 🤣 . Lips and all the lovely ladies and staff hats off to you ALL!!!! Thank you for making my cherry popped memorable for all time 💚 If you want to have a fun night with food worth while come to lips for sure!
Listen. I LOVE drag. But this was terrible. Someone in my party was assaulted by the queen Heidi. We were having a fun time before this happened, but our experience was ruined. She grabbed him by the face near his eye and pushed his contact out of place. It could have turned into a serious injury. We also filmed it! So if youre the owner and you would like to see, we can provide that.I expect banter and profanity from drag queens, but it is absolutely unacceptable to be physically assaulted! Especially if someone is literally pulling away from you. Also, the food was very bad and overpriced. We spoke to the manager about what happened and were thankfully offered a. refund for the entire dinner and tickets.Dont go here!
Yaaasss queen! Will come back in a heartbeat! Amazing atmosphere and energy from all the staff. Love it!!
We attended the dinner show. I made reservations prior to arrival which stated $15 for show and $20 minimum for food. Upon arrival and being seated, we were told we had to get the $42 meal option which included salad, entree, and a cookie. Alcohol is an additional charge which was fine. The show was pretty good. There were only 3 performers and the show only lasted a hour. We tipped the dancers pretty good throughout the show. It was also my gfs birthday so she went on stage with all 20 other birthday people. We received our bill $167.00 which I expected as we got food and alcohol. They also charge $15 if it’s your birthday. Our waitress took it upon herself to add 20% gratuity which was an additional $30 on top of what we tipped her throughout the performance. I fixed my card to where the exact $167 (excluding gratuity) would come out. I was then told my card declined. I asked her to take out the exact amount and not try to charge for $197 and I would leave a cash tip. She said I had to leave the cash right then and that she was ready to go home. I explained I was not leaving an additional $30 ontop of the tips I gave her during the performance. We left a $12 tip which was generous considering I felt I was trying to be bamboozled. I say all of this to say watch your checks when you cash out. The tip is not required but they will try to make it seem like it. Also, the small charges for random stuff. Overall the experience was okay.
A fun drag performance that will entertain you. Recommend including the food in your ticket as it was very tasty and adds to your experience very well.
This was one of the highlights of my trip to NYC. I went to the Sunday Broadway brunch and had a blast! The food was awesome and I got unlimited mimosas, all for a good price. My server was the best, and took excellent care of me. The entertainment was amazing! First, Ginger Snaps is hilarious!! All the queens were super talented and made sure we were all having a good time. I honestly hadnt laughed that much in a long time, and everyone around me was also having a great time. Loved the over-the-top decor. The next time I visit NYC, Ill definitely go here again!
Amazing nighttttt the best 24th birthdayyyyy ever I love it and celebrating me in the right way go here they will hype you up and the performances was all phenomenal. The food was good the drinks. I laughed and laughed and smiled all night. They really made me day.
Great drag brunch on a Sunday afternoon, as much mimosa/cocktails as you can drink. Food was ok, performers were friendly entertaining and attentive. (Special mention to Shiny Penny) always keeping the crowd happy and singing along. 💅🏻💃🏼
The performances are great, but the customer service is even better! Each employee is super attentive and personable. It made the experience that much more enjoyable. I would definitely come again and will be recommending.
OMG this place is FABULOUS! Went here for my daughters 21st birthday and had a great time. All the Queens put on a great show and our server Chandelier is amazing on and off the stage. Went for the 6pm dinner and show. Its a prefixed menu but with enough options theres something for everyone. Drinks were just as great and packed a punch too. Been here a couple of times to and cant wait to go back
Definitely fun atmosphere!!My first time going and i absolutely loved it!!Everyone was very nice from the managers to all the queens there.. the lady at the door ariana was very sweet..I had such an amazing time.. all performances was greatThe food was good. I will definitely come back here agian.Such a great vibe !!!! And special shout out to our server/drag her name was ALL BEEF PATTY!! She made sure we was good with everything .
Me and my coworkers went here yesterday the ambience was very nice the show felt very rushed the food was OK I will agree with some of the other reviews that it is very money driven they do expect tips and they do you charge a 20% gratuity. The only positive thing about the whole time we were there was Empress Vizcaya, she was incredible and if I could just go there to see her perform I will pay all the money in the world. Would I give them another shot probably not I feel like it’s very overpriced for what they’re giving you and it felt very rushed and to be honest most of the performers seemed annoyed with us even being in their presence. And let me make this clear don’t nobody come for me and these comments when it comes to reviews I’m a huge supporter of the LGBTQ plus community but they all had a nasty attitude in this building and I don’t pay any money for nasty attitude is the same feeling I would have if somebody worked as a cashier at a grocery store if you don’t like your job by all means get another one and they seem very annoyed with the fact that they were even performing for us so again I would not spend my money here go elsewhere there are plenty of other wonderful drag shows throughout Manhattan and the performers probably actually care about performing
Yesterday was my 32nd birthday and I came dressed to impress with a group of 12. I looked and felt like a princess and the ladies of lips were Fantastic. Our host who was also celebrating her birthday and our waitress were both so funny, engaging and sweet. They also both performed and were both amazing. All the performances as a whole were outstanding. The food was so delicious and the ambiance was just perfect. The decor of the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and perfect to take pictures. Thanks to ladies of lips this years birthday has been my best birthday yet and will be one of my most memorable.
Such an amazing experience!!!! The girls were so welcoming and entertaining. Cant wait to come back!!!!!! #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Came here end of July 2024 for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. There were 12 of us, and we had a blast. The food was great, generous portions( most of us had the chicken and waffles)and the bottomless bloody Mary’s and mimosas were good too! The service was good. Show was fun, the main MC and performer was the best-great comedian. The rest of the “girls” were okay. Just to advise there is no so going here just lip singing and some dancing but overall a really good time.
This place was amazing. Every single person that worked there was extremely nice. The bartender was amazing as well. She was nice to everyone, made great drinks, and she was working hard all night as was everyone else. The show was so entertaining. Would 100% recommend coming here. I know I’ll be back soon!
Had my 21st birthday party here. Everyone was amazing and made me feel so loved! I will definitely be back. Thank you my loves ❤️ - Luka
Had a great first time here with my partner for his birthday. Yall made our night ❤️.Sorry that we almost forgot to pay for the second show, we were a bit distracted talking aboow fun it was!
So much fun. The staff are amazing and so very talented. The food was very good and the drinksalso. The only issue was the bathroom being upstairs. My friend has MS and needs help to walk etc. The stairs are impossible for her. A bathroom mainly for patrons with as disability on the lower level would be great. She lived the evening but wont be able to return because a bathroom is a need for her. That was the reason for 4 stars.Otherwise the show was Absolutely Fabulous and you Rock.
The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular, but for the price point it’s well worth it! the bottomless mimosas, charismatic staff, and decorations were all top notch! would definitely go back
Visited NY for Dragcon and they had a table. Had to do the dinner show! Me and my daughter had a blast ! And the food was good also.
I had such a wonderful time with my friends, can’t wait to go back. Everyone was so fabulous and so sweet. The show was amazing, the mimosas were flowing endlessly, and the food was quick and great.
Shiny penny was our server and one of the queens!! She did amazing. This was my first show ever and it was just downright fun, hilarious and overall entertaining!
Perfect for a nice evening …
It was such an amazing experience even for a group of 3!! So interactive! #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Very entertaining, meal was good with a decent range of entrees options for the saturday show. Did seem like the queens were more tip oriented than focusing on the performance but understandable.
BIG WOW! I was brought to Lips to celebrate my upcoming marriage. Our party had the immense pleasure of being seated with Ms. Tiffany Anne Coke who brought the joy and a level of glamour to our brunch that really set the stage for the the spectacle that was to follow! She even gave me a crown! And bobby pins! The performances were incredible! I also loved getting to feel like a star myself when I got called on stage when they celebrated the brides. It meant so much to have something so huge for me (getting MARRIED *eeeek!*) celebrated in front of everyone. So thank y’all for that. And honestly… the MC made my day… she was freaking hilarious. Crying laughing was a great way to end my bachelorette trip. I can’t wait to make my way back to Lips ❤️
What a great time! The food was better than I expected, the wait staff are really fun, and the show is unbelievable! I love the interaction and the music, and they are fantastic at getting a crowd revved up! I highly recommend going there for your birthday or bachelorette (or bachelor) party! They make it so fun and special!
The place was absolutely incredible! We enjoyed the food as it was mouthwatering, entertainment was fabulous and drinks were of high quality. The staff were friendly and accommodating too! Best place to have a gathering or celebration. Will recommend to a friend whos birthday is coming! Thank you!
We went with 11 girls for a bachelorette party and had an AMAZING time! We were seated front and center which was so much fun, we were all crying laughing and had an absolute blast. Strong drinks, good food, the girls were awesome and all gave great performances. I highly recommend going with a group for a special occasion (as long as you arent too prudish or easily embarrassed). We were a somewhat rowdy group looking to have fun and we definitely made the right choice!
Came here to celebrate with family for a birthday. Its was just ok. The food was cold, the desserts were stale. The pre fixe meal is not worth it. The salad offered was small. The performances were short and nothing spectacular. The servers were nice and had good attitudes but this place is just a money pit. Be prepared to spend at least 85 and up per person. Would not go back.
Genuinely had the time of my life during a brunch visit. My party went early afternoon so we got the cheeseburger and fries and berry waffles. The food came out incredibly fast and was delicious ! Large beef patty cooked perfectly and crunchy fries. They contuinally refilled our pitchers mimosa. The entertainment!!! Oh my goodness I havent laughed or sang so loudly in my life. Everyone was having such an amazing time. The song selections were fantastic and the performances were beyond !Do not hesitate, go there immediately.
I been wanting to go to lips for my birthday since forever but something always got in the way. I finally made it to the taboo showing and it did not disappoint. I had the best time I could go here all the time. The queens were definitely Queens! This is a bday I will never forget.Twiggy was amazing !! Love her!!
Celebrated my best friends bday here over the weekend. The staff was very nice. We had lounge seating. Which is kind of the outcast seating but our waitress Gusty Wings was very accommodating. She was very attentive and never left us out of the loop. The food and drinks were pretty good. There was a ceiling leak mid show. Yeah nasty but it was taken care of quickly. My friend had a great time we will return but never again to the lounge
I just had my first lips experience, with my best friend for my birthday (its tomorrow) and I dont know how I feel. I honestly didnt hate it. The ladies were full of energy except this one queen that was super boring. The show was engaging and pulls you in. The Queens really do a great job of exciting the crowd. As I am a super huge foodie I would give my dish which was the RuPaul an 8 1/2 out of 10. It was really delicious and the portion size shocked me in a good way. It was huge which can never be a bad thing!! My drink was the summer rumer and that was delicious as well. I had only wish that you got more show for your money spent. I think the show was very good and when it was really getting to that climax it ended abruptly. If I had gotten at least another half an hour to an hour it would have been amazing. Was my experience bad no but Ive had way better in Vegas. Would I come back, well thats left to be seen!!
I had the most amazing time celebrating my birthday at Lips!!!! The Queens made me feel so special and their performances blew me away!
Been here twice and I loved it. The show is great. But just in case you didnt know before going there. There is a cover cost per person of $15.00 and if you sitting at a table you have to order food no ands, ifs, or buts about it. No sharing plates at a $34.95 a cost. You can only order the appetizer of $18.95 with your meal, not as your meal. So bring plenty of money.
I want to start this off with a warning disclosure that I am a straight white cisgender man: or for short “SWCM” (the most beloved of all the combinations these days). I knew my other SWCM friends would never accompany me to Lips for a drag brunch. So I pitched it to them as an all-you-can-drink brunch in the Upper East Side and they quickly all agreed to come. I am not going to lie there was a bit of a shock factor when we walked in and they were most definitely a bit confused and concerned but by the end of the brunch, everyone was throwing money like they were at Sapphires Gentleman’s Club. I tell this tail for two reasons: first, its funny as hell. And second, to illustrate that lips are a place for everyone.Besides the provocative name, you would pass lips on the street on any given day and have no idea of what lies inside. Very poetic when you compare it to a closeted gay man. Once you enter, you are no longer in NYC, you are transported to another dimension where rules dont apply and nobody judges.I would highly recommend getting to know your waitress well because once they are done serving you they transform into the talent that you will see dominating the stage. They aren’t working at lips because they have a deep passion for service. They are there to perform. So tread lightly when you are ordering or else they will put the sass on you quickly, and once they start they don’t stop. Just like the service youre not going to drag brunch for the amazing cuisine so dont come hungry. You will be fed but hopefully, you took advantage of the open bar so much that you wont remember what you ate. I got the chicken and waffle which is my death row meal and the obvious winner on the menu. While it wasnt the best Ive ever had I have had much worse. The open bar as previously mentioned almost steals the show from the performers. Its all you can drink and you have all the standard brunch options. Feel free to Mix and match cocktails, but brunch is for mimosas.I made the mistake of not thinking they would have dollar bills to give out so I went down to the local corner store at 9 am and asked for a whole stack of ones. You can skip this step and save the humiliation of looking like a strip club addict. Before the show starts they walk around and have endless ones that you can trade for.Now on to the reason you are at Drag Brunch, the show. I was a drag brunch virgin before lips, and I couldnt imagine a better place to pop my cherry. The dances are eye-catching, to say the least. There is a reason this place has been around for so long. Everyone in the crowd gets some type of attention from the performers and if you’re lucky you may be a part of their crowd work. You may be thinking of doing this for a special occasion. If so, you wont be alone. Just about everyone is celebrating a birthday, bachelorette, or other special occasions; And dont worry everyone gets celebrated. This place is the real deal. Maybe not for all ages, but great for everyone else. I give this place a solid 8.9. I will be back for the special shows… but I may pack a lunch.
Was at Lips for a birthday party today. Our group definitely had a fun time and the drag show was a hoot! GingerSnaps comic timing was the highlight for me. Some things to know: Lips packs the room and its extremely tight seating. The food and drinks that I had were mediocre - average dinner theater - youre coming for the show. The sound system was way too loud-bring your earplugs if thats an issue for you. Otherwise, the queens of Lips were a lot of fun! A great place to celebrate adult birthday parties! Lips, please bring back the naughty balloons!
Came from the UK and was not disappointed. Ginger Snaps was just a riot. Skyler was our server and was so welcoming and funny. The food was surprisingly good and the portions are massive. Cocktails and drinks great. Entertainment was 10/10. We went on Wednesday so there was a cover of min $15 on kitchen. Skyler gurl, if you are ever in Brighton, look me up!
Took my cousin here to celebrate his birthday. The service was good and organized it felt like a well oiled machine and routine for the staff. The food was surprisingly good but not hot enough, everything came out in a timely manner but was lukewarm. We attended on a Saturday which is a mandatory prefix menu providing a caesar salad, entree, dessert and a show. Everyone was served Caesar salads that tasted pre made with soggy croutons, possibly to save on time.for dessert they gave mini red velvet cupcakes with chocolate pieces inside and a whip icing. The cupcakes were crunchy and not good either. My cousin had the stuffed lobster ravioli and I had the jumbo shrimp scampi, which we both enjoyed. (Appetizers are not included) We also purchased the coconut shrimp appetizer which was good as well. We couldn’t try any alcoholic drinks bc I am expecting and my cousin is underage so no deets on that. Overall the service was great but rushed I think bc they have to keep to a tight schedule and the show was great and entertaining but be prepared for close contact dining and minimal space to move if you are attempting on a Saturday. This place has many seats as they can fit in this popular venue.
Personnel charming, food portions large, however chicken dry. Prices reasonable so are drinks. Drag queens come out to sing and collect dollar bills from audience. Show not too entertaining as no audience participation,, only when individual singers go for money. Place is much nicer than their previous location. Very busy even during the week.
Went for Sunday Drag Brunch and had a blast! The steak and eggs was surprisingly good and the show was wonderful! Such a great time. Highly recommend.
We absolutely enjoyed our dinner at Lips. My friend had a birthday, so he was crowned on stage and got the photo postcard, which was so nice. The food was okay. There’s one vegetarian option and they made one vegan option for a friend. It’s a great place for a celebration.
Absolutely incredible!! I have never been to a drag show begore. Ginger snap was hilarious! Of the 7 days in New York I am so glad we decided to come here this was hands down my favourite night in New York City. The food was amazing. The crab cakes were some of the best Ive had. All of the staff was attentive and the servers were involved in the show and still attended well to the tables. If youre visiting NYC this is a have to see. I recommend everyone give them a visit so worth the experience!
Unbelievably fun!! The broadway and show-tunes were all bangers- the servers/performers were VERY talented! Shiny Penny and all of the other beautiful queens that work there made our day! THANK YOU!!!
I went to Lips for the Thursday night show and had the Queen Shiney Penny for my waitress who provided by great service to my table. It was first drag show and was a great introduction to the scene. It was very enjoyable making me wanna check out other shows. The food was actually good and so were the drinks. Due to the prices of the door, food cost, drinks costing $11-$17, plus doors to tip the Queens dont expect to pay less then $50-60 a person but its worth it.The show is designed around people celebrating births, bachelorettes parties and divorce. They ask this at the start of the show and mark the person at the table with a crown or tiara to bring them on stage later for more things later which makes it a night to remember. Its great and very inviting to people underage as their to my shock alot of people under 18 there but nothing raunchy was done. Its good clean fun
Best dinner that Iv had in all during our stay in New York, the show was so good and funny, the night we went was Twisted Broadway & it was fantastic. All the staff there went above and beyond, would recommend it to everyone
Best birthday ever!! My friends and I went to celebrate my 26th birthday last Friday here, and OMG what a great time we had. Ginger our waitress was fabulous and friendly. All the queens were divine! The show was so so soooo funny! Beautiful venue! The food was also very delicious. I got the steak and fries and it was yummm. Prices are very fair. Definitely worth it, I will be sure to go back! Thank you for making my 26th birthday extra special :)
We were sitted behind a column all we saw if the show was the column and occasionally the side of the entertainers in the back ..horrible view but others at the show appeared to be enjoying..I sat and took selfies since I couldnt see the stage at all
We went here for my friends birthday. It was just okay. The chairs are packed tight and you dont have any room to move and the drinks and food are just okay. I know you dont go to these places for the food but I expected something at least decent. The ladies are good but seemed very low on energy. I dont know if they had a show before this but the guest shouldnt be able to notice that. There is a food minimum which is normal, but I wouldnt pay extra for anything. Its just not worth it.
Went here for a bachelorette party. Most of the performers were boring. One performer sang with her own voice and sounded terrible. Other performer sang 2 songs about being Italian and loving Italian men, weird. Other performer almost fell off the stage. Food took forever to come for one of the girls in our group. Food was edible, they also brought out an appetizer platter that noone ordered. We thought it was complimentary but no, we were charged for it.The bill was outrageous. Its an over priced show with mediocre talent. I definitely would not go back.
I loved this show. It was my first experience going and ther performers were excellent.
Pretty entertaining , I was expecting more dancers and a little more upbeat music though. Food was pretty good ! Our server Nichelle was phenomenal ! She had a great performance as well. Definitely a great place to bring groups or celebrate parties .
The food was disgusting, nothing was seasoned. The food came out so fast Im guessing its all precooked. The show was ok seems like its for a older crowd, they should consider updating their repertoire. All in all I felt like I spent a lot of money on a whole lot of nothing. It was for a dear friends birthday so no love lost but I think Lips needs an update before I ever consider going there again.
Sunday Broadway Bruch: Love the concept. Very entertaining. The mimosas were flowing. The food was ok. I ordered the eggs benedict, it came out luke warm and almost cold. My friends ordered the steak and eggs....it was like a diner steak. Very fatty. When the bill came there was an insert saying they didnt automatically add gratuity, but yet the bill showed 20% added. We heard others around us complaining about the same. The drag waitresses were very attentive to the guests.
The ladies were great and they put on a great show. The food was good and so were the drinks. However, if you attend on a Saturday, beware when they call you to the stage for your birthday. IT WILL COST YOU $15.00 ON YOUR BILL and they do not tell you, that is cost untill you see the bill. Also the $12.00 per person COVER CHARGE IS PUT ON YOUR BILL MAKING THE GRATUITY HIGHER. Im accustom to paying the cover charge at the front door before I am seated.
Wasnt a really good experience, but the group had fun. My friend and I had a burger, which was so raw we had to send it back, only to get a burnt burger. We had a table in the back so we could not see the show. Definitely make reservations in advance to get a good table. Not sure its worth the price.
My partner and I are in town from the Midwest and decided to try ‘Lips’.Food was pretty decent, but we had great service from Morgan and the other staff. The show was very enjoyable too. Thanks you for a fun evening.
Came here for a bachlorette celebration. We all had a great time. Good food, strong drinks, great show — have some fun for whatever celebration or just a night out!
Lots of fun!
Very nice place to celebrate and just have fun
The singers are very talented... very professional and well trained you could tell. All the entertainers were great actually. My sister and I laughed so much, which is great because we both wrnt through recent breakups. This place definitely cheers you up! It just has a great vibe. As soon as we walked in we were smiling and singing along. When we went to the bar the bartender told us to sit and shell serve us. We waited 15min. And then went to another bartender who was so sweet and insisted we stay even though we were an hour early for the show. A few minutes later the other bartender came back to our table and apologized. She had an emergency in the back but wanted to say she was sorry and gave us free Lip shaped shot glasses LOL. My sister and I had a Malibu Bay Breeze and it was sweet and delicious. You could taste the alcohol but it didnt kill the sweet drink. Overall, a very fun place... definitely worth checking out!
We had my daughters bachelorette there in May. We had 13 women and we had a blast. food was good entertainment was outrageous. My daughter who didnt know where she was going was skeptical at first, but she had an awesome time. very professional drinks were great. Taking my friend for her birthday! cant wait.
I went to Lips earlier in the month for a girls night out with my mother. Since it was just the two of us we had a table right next to the stage. Theres a $15 minimum per person which is very reasonable and a $12 cover charge. The drinks were strong which I was very surprised by, I thought they would water it down. The food was good, we just got starters and shared it. The performance was great and these Divas really did their thing. My waitress Eva was a doll and the service was great. If youre looking for a good drag show to go to Lips is the place.
This place is unabashedly about milking you for your money. Extremely expensive for dinner that includes three courses. The salad is only pale iceberg lettuce ONLY (no croutons even), and they even skimp on the dressing. The main course I had, a vegetarian dish, was diner-quality. The third course was a mini red velvet cupcake and a mini cannoli that would embarrass a grocery store bakery. Even throughout the show the MC would be talking about giving tips and getting money from the crowd. I get it, its apart of the shtick and irony, no problem. But during more than half of the performances it was so damn obvious that the men/women just did not care about what they were doing. It was a lot of fun, dont get me wrong. But the tab came out to $100. And theyre asking relentlessly for tips? One bill is enough.
I spent a beautiful night at Lips 💋 the food was delightful, Chandelier did an amazing job thank you beautiful!!! The vibes & the shows were outstanding, I can’t wait to come back, thank you ladies!!!
My friends and I had the most absolute best time today celebrating two bdays! These queens are over the top fabulous, entertaining and hilarious. We’ll be back soon!
SO MUCH FUN!! Definitely an adult outing. The waitstaff was amazing! Your waitress actually performs and you get to cheer for her! It was an amazing experience. The food and the drinks were also amazing.
The service was great and the performers were funny and entertaining. The drinks were great and strong (we got some pomegranate cocktail) but the food was bland (penne alla vodka & shrimp Alfredo). The food is overpriced. The bill was higher than we predicted. If you are planning to get an entree & cocktail, be prepared to spend atleast $50 per person.
Lips is the best drag queen show I’ve ever been to in NYC! You guys so entertaining, hilarious, very very funny and fun to watch! We had a good time. Love you Ginger Snaps & the rest of the queens. What a Brilliant show! Well done!
I had a ball at lips 💋. The hospitality there is out of this world everyone is so welcoming especially Jessica she definitely made my night one to remember!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JESSICA
Had a blast here for my birthday! Everyone at my table was laughing, drinking, eating, enjoying! The performers are talented and funny, the food and drinks were very good, and the birthday cake was yummy!
This was a fabulous time, i really really enjoyed this. The ladies was amazing, great costumes and funny. The food and service was fantastic and highly recommended spot. I will surely be back with more people .
Very excited and heard great things! Drinks were good which is the ONLY reason Im giving this 2 stars. Made reservations for the 1130 showing and my girlfriend and I got pushed into a corner and pretty much forgotten and ignored completely! Not only forgotten and ignored but we were actually discriminated against because we were not black or gay! We sat at the bar for almost an hour before our reservation and saw more at the 18 amd up show in those 45 minutes than we did the ENTIRE time of our supposedly 2 hour show that lasted MAYBE 40 minutes. Will never return! More entertained by watching the clock tick away....
Generally.the atmosphere is fun and vibrant, but my boyfriend and I had a sub-par experience. Everyone who had a birthday was able to go on on stage, sit in the throne, talk about where they were from and were sent well on their way. My boyfriend was not permitted to sit on the throne and was subjugated to a larger deal of sexual humiliation than the women on stage. I do understand and can appreciate the humor of the venue, but when you treat one gender above the other, it is not indicative of a safe space.
The Ladies put on quite a show! Theyre energetic & hysterical, and kept us laughing all night long. The food was great, as were the drinks, and reasonable. My family and I are looking forward to returning.
Omg SO AMAZING!!! 100% coming back again for fun and my sister’s bachelorette. Everyone is nice and funny. Show is spectacular
Literally can’t sleep because I refused to go to bed tonight without leaving a review! Best night of my life. The queens were all amazing, the food is tasty and the atmosphere is gaudy. What more could a girl ask for on her birthday. I even got a personalized card for my birthday.
Lips NYC is always a blast. The Divas are fierce and always make sure you have a good time. Whether youre celebrating a special day, getting tipsy for brunch or late-night hanging. LIPS is the place to be. #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Had such an awesome time @ Lips tonight!! My second time here! Celebrating my dear friends 50 bday!! Highly recommend this place for a night out, dinner, show and drinks!
We were there for my Birthday! We had a fabulous time. Food was wonderful. best Burger I have had in a while. I would definitely go again! Than you ladies for a great time!
Ah-Mazing!!! Incredible experience, uber talented Drag Queens, delicious food and tons if fun! Lips New York was a highlight if my first trip to NYNY 🙌
Highly recommended!! Thank you for such a wonderful time. It was my best friends first drag show and first time to NYC and we couldnt ask for any experience better than with you! From the the fabulous greeting upon arrival, to the front row seating, to the tasty food, and glorious hosts-- we had an absolute blast. Come visit Lips for ANY occasion. Its a truly special place and an amazing show. Make sure you bring some singles for your lovely queens-- they work their butts off!! Much love from Portland Oregon ❤️ we will visit again!A special thanks to the lips manager for making this all extremely special. They were an absolute delight upon arrival and even managed to get a group photo for us, which truly made my evening. Thank you again!!
Had a great time at this show. The food was pretty good. The show was fun. They are very tip driven, but just let go and have a good time
Great atmosphere, lovely staff, and a fantastic night out to celebrate birthdays, bachelorettes, etc. The food was actually surprisingly tasty as well!
Such an over rated drag bar with limited talent and almost all songs are lip synced. In comparison to Jacques drag in Boston to Key West i’d never recommend this place to anyone. The food came out cold, the drinks were bottom shelf liquor, and only god knows what the kitchen actually looks like. I could only have a few bites of my food because i was turned off by the entire experience. The dinner is soooooo overpriced for what the show delivers and the entertainment lacked enthusiasm. I could have gotten on stage and swayed side to side and brought a better experience than the queens at lips. Sorry I’m not sorry 😐
The best experience ever! LOVE IT ALL..
Went for the 1st time. Not impressed. Entire experience felt rushed. From moment I walked through the door, being seated, to food order and drinks. The food was surprisingly very good as was the drinks. Drinks not cheap and for the size, not really worth it. The performances were not that good. Cheesy best described them. Over all not worth the price.
My childs birthday we had an amazing time thank you
AMAZING SHOW, FOOD AND AMBIANCE .!! 4 stars because we arrived early for the show however even having a reservation still waited well over 40 mins. Once seated, greeted by our FANTASTIC drag server..kept us laughing the entire night. Gave us food and drink suggestions and Mann was it DELICIOUS. Only downside it wasnt many drags there performing. So servers were performing as well. That night it just seemed a bit chaotic but it wasnt disappointing at all. I will definitely go back. I had an AMAZING TIME.
Sooo much fun!!! The show was great. Everyone was so nice from the people at the door when you come in to the waitresses and everyone else. The food was cooked to perfect texture however you ask, unlimited mimosas all night for six dollars. All the birthday people got to go on stage and feel special as did a bride to be celebrating her bachelorette party. I would definitely go back, and definitely recommend this place to my friends and associates. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
PERFECT EXPERIENCE!. I recommend the lobster ravioli it was amazing. Show and staff were amazing and cant wait to go back!
Had a great time! The ladies were attentive to your needs. Polite. Show was wonderful. Interaction with the crowd. Lively. Will be going back.
We came for our friends bachelorette party and had so much fun! All of the girls were fantastic! They were hilarious, so nice and definitely helped make our friends day special. Can’t wait to come back!!!
I was pleasantly surprised!Taejah is a fantastic host with a sense of humor that eve your grandmother would find humorous!
It was actually my first time and it was definitely more than I expected! The QUEENS really put on a great show! The food was also great! OVERALL it was a awesome experience! Lots of fun!
The food was rather mediocre and the liquor seemed cheap given that myself and a handful of my guest woke up with a splitting migraine after having no more than 3 drinks each. It was my actual birthday, everything was rushed and did not meet my expectations. I was glad to share my day of birth with the other women in the room, but Im sure that none of us actually felt special. I was underwhelmed and will not be attending or recommending Lips to anyone again.
We went to the Broadway brunch show and while the food was delicious and the show was a top notch drag show, we waited for about thirty minutes after the show to get our bill corrected and paid. They started seating the second show before we had even received a correct bill (the unlimited drinks were added to our tab when we didnt choose that option). Other than that hiccup, I would definitely recommend their brunch show if you love drag and you love Broadway. Ginger Snapt and the Lips girls made our NYC drag experience unforgettable!
The atmosphere and show are spectacular. The food is mediocre. We absolutely loved the show & the interaction with the customers!
This is a difficult review to write. The honest truth is that Lips very much underwhelms. Maybe not if you are a tourist, maybe not if you have never experienced any aspects of the gay community or are going to a drag show for the very first time; then you may be so razzle-dazzled by the novelty of this experience that you are willing to give the place four or five stars and forget all about the seriously subpar food and drink. This, of course, is precisely what Lips counts on, thrives on, and very likely would not be in business without: tourists; one-off visitors. Because while the food is not exactly inedible, it is close enough to make me never want to go back. Chicken tenders, the easiest of basics which youd think they would have down to a science, were thrown on the plate in a disconcertingly large pile with their tips and many other areas overcooked to the point of being burned black. Gross! Served on the side with the kind of honey-mustard that requires no refrigeration and was probably squeezed out of a plastic packet. Mushy mushroom ravioli sitting in a soup of salty sauce that likely came out of a bulk-purchased ten gallon can or similar. And, yes, I thought to myself going into this that you dont go here for the gourmet food. I know! But after you receive the bill and realize the $$$ you just dropped on this food, not including multiple tips handed out during the show to the performers (in addition to the presumptuous inclusion of a full twenty percent gratuity already written onto the presented check) it is difficult to not feel resentful. And difficult not to remember that, after all, this is not a Broadway show, it is still, ultimately, a *RESTAURANT.* If the plates were ten and twelve dollars, then fine. But at the current prices, I do not understand why Lips cannot manage to get their kitchen together and serve something better than what amounts to the quality of a frozen TV dinner that you can buy for $5.99 ($2.50 on sale) at the local supermarket. Equally true for the bar. The cocktails are a ripoff primarily composed of sugar-water and food-coloring. Whatever bottom-shelf alcohol was thrown in there with it I do not know because booze was undetectable on my palate. For all I know, there was none. I did not finish the drink or my plate of food. I imagine to-go bags here are the rarest of requests. Needless to say, the drag queens do save the place ... but, lets be honest: only barely. The humor, wit and energy is there. I laughed. I was entertained. But the outfits are unpolished; hastily thrown on, bunched up, wrinkled, looking as if they were pulled out of a musty old trunk in the back. A sound system which makes you cringe a bit, turned up too loud, crackling. How do you explain this? Almost the entire show, which is lip-synced, relies on this crucial equipment. It should be fine-tuned and well invested in! The carelessness in these areas is exasperating. In short, Lips needs a major refresh in the QUALITY department. At these prices, there is no reason that management cannot do better than the current standard of eh, good enough. I am guessing this will not happen, however, because Lips has been surviving for this long with their shtick and it seems to work for the target audience so why put in the time, effort and cut into profits in order to provide more quality, right? As long as there are tourists, there will be Lips, which is the epitome of a place that locals shun. What I have described here is why. Again, in summary: overpriced for low quality, relying primarily on novelty mixed in with some decent wit and humor.
Surprised my daughter with a night out at Lips for her 21st Birthday. She was so excited she had always wanted to go and she had a BALL!! It was great fun! Just absolutely fantastic! I would definitely recommend Lips for a great time out!!
I arranged a bachelorette for one of my sorority sisters here and the show was a lot of fun. The ladies know how to throw a party, and I just wished that it could have lasted an additional 30-60 minutes. The drinks were strong and good, but the food was not that great. I ordered a chicken Marsala for my main course (during the Saturday night show). The chicken was dry and the vegetables were not that great either; the only thing that I enjoyed on my plate were the mashed potatoes. In my opinion, the venue is good for a fun show, however the food is not that great.
It was the best experience EVER! I loved it, the atmosphere is amazing! #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
You make a reservation in advance, then pay for your food and drinks and enjoy the show in person . Bring singles to tip!! Food was good ! I had the salmon! Drinks were ok, not that strong to me. You’ll notice that the performers where different hats -they may take your food order, perform on stage, and work the bar. The one who performs as Beyoncé and Ariana Grande were decent performances. Some moments were nice but definitely felt rushed, such as the birthday shoutouts. This could be a better place if they varied the dancers with fresh faced more energetic ones. I still had a good time, but I would not return.
I didn’t like how they rushed people to Order things and and if they person was there they made you tell them that we would have to order for them also one of them was very rude , and ignorant
The food was yummy and the ladies were AMAZING! Each one brought their own flavor to the show and I loved each and every one of them. So entertaining and fun. Not for the faint of heart!
I enjoyed the show so much. Plan your birthday dinner party here you’ll have an unforgettable birthday.
This was hands down the BEST drag show I’ve been to in NYC. The food was incredible (I got the Ru Paul chicken dinner) and the employees were amazing!! It’s such a safe environment and shout out to Twiggy for being the most awesome substitute bartender/drag queen around!! Twiggy put on the best show I’ve ever seen (the dancing was phenomenal and the performance as a whole was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed live). I cannot wait to come back and see more performances soon!! Thank you to everyone for being so kind and entertaining!! :)
We celebrated my cousin, a bride to be. We had a ball. The show was great, the queens were amazing. The food was delicious and the drinks were too.#LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Celebrated our niece 21 birthday Sunday brunch. Great show. Definitely going back for another shows
I went yesterday for my birthday for a party of 10 on a Friday night where everyone is required to pay $40 for a Prie Fixe meal on top of a $15 cover each person. The food took forever to arrive, I came in at 8:45, the show and most of the meal did not even start until close to 11.My bill came out to $600 without taxes and tip. When I saw the bill, I couldnt pay the %20 gratuity bill for an extra $100 one of the drag queens Heidi Ho kept badgering me to pay the tip claiming this is the only way she gets paid. Even if that was true you dont ever shame or pressure someone to give you a tip.The performances were dry, and would go for maybe 30 minutes. It was not worth paying $700 for 10 people for poor entertainment & food and constantly wait to be served and start the show. For years I had high expectations coming to this place. Next year I will try Lucky Chengs instead. TOTAL RIPOFF!
Personally the show was awesome, first of all you are overpaying for that is nasty secondly a club should be concerned why the fact the food is being taken and no one is barely eating .. thirdly get a real chef to cook your food. Too damn high
Excellent show! All the performers are very funny and professional, good menu and a lot to drink. Great place for group of friends, you will laugh all the time!
It was my first time there, the show was beautiful, the place is beautiful, food delicious and we had an excellent time there. Its worth every penny.
ABSOLUTELY fun..strongly recommend for a girls night...the laughs are non stop, the drinks are good...the food is tasty(although the show is the focus, surprisingly the food was not bad)...also worth mentioning, the staff was very attentive..my group felt like real mvps..I definitely will return
Tasty food and a smashing performance! Thanks for giving me a good first drag show experience #LipsNYC #buzzybooth
Small tight cramped place, overpriced drinks, and microwaved food, (really should keep the DRAG on stage), and hire real sexy waiters and waitresses to serve the patrons..- The Gargantuan Crossed dressed men are alarming and vulture over the seating like buzzards. ( Very uncomfortable seating in which * drag HE-men are taking your orders*., its like ordering your meal from the crossed dressed marines. -( I swear the person taking my order had the manners of a belligerent navy seal on a secret mission) . - Id prefer to see a gogo boy take my order and observe the entertainment on the stage, not ringside at my meal. - made the experience feel rushed and shady and desperate. (NO CLASS/NO FILTER.. complete imbeciles).., - the waiter - was the performer, - the bouncer, -the entertainment, - the cashier, - the store manager, -the ticket dispenser, - the dishwasher, - the bartender!!! ) - . felt like an overpriced, under staffed, low budget, rushed experience.
MY sisters took me here for my 30th birthday we had a blast. It was entertainment the entire time. Raunchy and delightful. The food was ok but i asked my sisters to make this a birthday tradition. LOVE LOVE LOVE
I went here with a few other ladies. The show was awesome! I loved the vibe. The Queens were fun and full of energy. I had shrimp alfredo with green peas it could of been better. The drinks were nice and strong I had a great time.
The food, drinks, performances, ladies, and overall vibes were immaculate. Like, I’m stunned and you should not miss out
