Nobu has come to define the fine dining experience in Japanese cuisine, and its use of innovation in combining flavors continues to raise the bar.Our experience was largely positive, except for slightly sluggish service and some forgettable dishes (vegetable sushi and veggie tempura to name a few).Apart from that, the service was hospitable, and food and drinks were great, and the ambience was exceptional.Overall, i enjoyed my visit to Nobu and look forward to being back again!

I have been meaning to try Nobu out for a while and tonight was that night. Its a beautiful spot for a date night or special occasion. The food was solid, the cocktails were amazing, and the service was quite good.Nobu Sidecar (fantastic cocktail)-Toro Nigiri (amazing. One of my favorite bites of the night)-Unagi Nigiri (very good. Melts in your mouth)-Yellowtail w/ jalapeño & cilantro (although it had some kick to it and the cilantro flavor was pronounced, it is a very good dish)-Crispy Rice w/ Spicy tuna (spicy tuna spread was great. The crispy rice cubes were ok. I personally think this appetizer is skippable)-Shishito Peppers w/ sea salt (solid appetizer. Id love them blistered a bit more but they were still solid)Nobu Tacos (Tuna & Salmon. These were the perfect bites. The salmon ones were my preferred option)Scallops with spicy garlic (super flavorful!!! Just needs some rice or something to sop up the sauce)Black Miso Cod (solid piece of fish. BADLY needs more of the sauce, instead of the 4 dots they give you. Also does not come with a side of rice or veggies. Just the piece of fish.)Soba-cha Brownie (a solid dessert option. Felt rich but light at the same time. Id get it again)Overall. My experience at Nobu was nice. The food was quite good (with some room for minor improvements). The cocktails were the stars of the show. Thank you!

Food tasted great (except the wagyu dumplings but my friend thought they were amazing) but the portions are so small. Feels like snacks almost. Fish is comparable to other sushi spots. Expected fish to be better because of the hype. Still good though, except the wagyu tbh. Toro was great! The tuna tartar as well. Yellow tail was great. Eggplant great. Miso soup great. Just wanted bigger portions but I guess you pay for the atmosphere, which was also comparable to other spots

Went to Nobu for my birthday dinner and ordered the Omasake with wine/sake pairing. All the plates were not only stunning but unbelievably good, I couldnt pick a favorite amongst them. If you are not so much of a drinker I would order just one wine pairing instead of two, for us it was a bit too much alcohol per plate but overall definitely worth it!

Came here and got lucky to sit at the sushi bar. I got two rolls of the vegetable sushi and tofu new style. Tofu new style was so bad. Just no. The vegetable sushi was so good. It was so fresh. I also got the donuts also very good. The lychee martini was delicious as well. Service was good but a bit slow. The interior is beautiful as well. Such a nice time.

I had high expectations for Nobu, given its prestigious reputation and the fact that many VIPs dine there. We were excited to celebrate a special occasion, and for the most part, the service was excellent. However, things took a turn toward the end of our visit. After our original waiter finished their shift, we were handed off to another waiter named Chris, and unfortunately, that’s when the experience started to decline. We felt rushed, as Chris quickly handed us the bill and then stood right behind me while I was reviewing it. It was uncomfortable, as we were not given the time to discuss the bill or our experience in peace. I had to ask him to give us a few minutes to talk amongst ourselves. While I understand that it was later in the evening, there were still large tables with guests enjoying their meals, and a few couples were having drinks and chatting. Yet, we were made to feel rushed when others were clearly not.Additionally, I was disappointed to see the entire crew standing and watching the guests, which felt a bit off for a high-end restaurant. It gave a cheap impression rather than the luxury experience I expected. This experience left a negative impression on what should have been a memorable evening, and I hope the management takes this feedback into account.

Went here for a dinner with some coworkers. The place is all about the experience. It big, chic, and modern. The place to see and be seen for sure. The rest is less than impressive- the portions are small for the price. The food was good but nothing to salivate over with the exception of dessert which I will say was a must. Get the donuts and bento box.

I have eaten at this location three separate times over the last year. The reason I’m giving it such low stars is because the food quality is extremely inconsistent. The first time I ate there it was dismal; and I was shocked at how much the food cost versus its quality. I’ve eaten at other nice restaurants and this did not come close on the first visit. The server and service was amazing though. They second time, the food was also not good I have tried the Omakaze and I’ve also ordered off the menu. The third time was definitely a charm, and the food was pretty darn good, however I think for the price the food needs to be more consistently good (or amazing); some of the flavors don’t work so well together either. The really cool thing about this restaurant is you have the chance to glimpse Taylor Swift, George Clooney or Rihanna, lots of A listers here but other than that, I don’t think that it’s worth the money.

Quality dining experience! Another great meal at Nobu! I love the “family style” or encouraged sharing nature of their menu. This way diners have the opportunity to share and try multiple things on the menu (because everything is amazing) The staff are all so energetic and emphasize on the happiness of the customer. The lowlight atmosphere gives it an elegant vibe adding to the overall experience. The crispy rice with spicy tuna and lobster tacos are my absolute favorite dishes!

We had an early dinner reservation and ordered quite a few dishes to share for two. Its a Saturday night, and you could clearly tell that they served our food in a rushing manner and were eager to replace our plates to make rooms for the next dish. While the meal was more expensive than my usual outings, I found the pace is a bit rushed and didnt fully enjoy the experience. The ambiance is somewhat dimmed, with a mix of patrons dressed for special occasions, while others are more casually dressed. It looked like a good place for family as well. The food is top-notch. Its on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. Each dish is interesting and unique in its own way, though if I were to return, Id definitely reorder the Black Cod Miso and Toro Tartare with Caviar.

Had a wonderful dinner at Nobu over the weekend. The dishes were plated to perfection and the cocktails were also delicious. Highly recommed the oysters, yellowtail jalapeno & the toro tartare for appetizers. For entrees, the black cod miso & the shrimp and lobster dishes were filled with flavor and cooked to perfection. Our server Henry made our dining experience amazing and made sure to read over our reservation notes. We will definitely be back to Nobu very soon.

Had a late reservation on NYE. I have not been to this Nobu location before and I wasn’t a huge fan of the dining room layout compared to other NY location. We had a group of 4 and ordered Omakase. There were some very enjoyable bites but I was surprised how many I did not like. Several dishes were overly sweet. Sushi, sashimi, urchin were the highlights. Chilean sea bass and the dish with several things together included wagyu and egg (I do not know the dish name) were the low lights. Fish was cooked perfectly but 3 out of 4 of us did not like the flavor. The bowl dish was very sweet and heavy. Very expensive meal for 4 out of 5 food. Service was just okay but I’ll give them a pass considering NYE.

The WORST dining experience of my life.I made a reservation weeks ago for my best friend to celebrate her birthday - little did we know her birthday would get ruined by the Nobu staff. The only time available was 9pm for a reservation - hint : DO NOT make a reservation at 9 unless you want to be rushed out of there, given dirty looks by the employees, having to listen to the staff yell at each other and curse at each other, and lastly have a male employee follow you into the womens bathroom. Tip for Nobu: do not offer 9pm reservations if you cannot handle it.First, the table was only my best friend and I and we chose multiple items from each course plus drinks and dessert.Mid dinner the waiter told us the kitchen was closing, we respected that. While continuing to get food, one of the employees pulled another table over because we ran out of room for plates. He then proceeds to ask do you have more food coming? we said yes and you can tell by the look on his face he was not happy.Next, while trying to eat our food fast (with no choice), one of the employees SCREAMS across the whole dining room to reprimand another employee, and then followed by using the f word while walking past our table. My best friend and I were shocked by the unprofessionalism!Next, the waiter comes again to tell us we need to order dessert while still having 6 plates at the table, and while chewing on our dinners. So we ordered dessert to respect the waiter.Throughout the whole dinner we respected every staff member, followed all of their rules and did not cause any problems in the establishment.Dessert came from an unenthusiastic waiter that just wanted to go home, and my espresso was an embarrassment to all Italians. Truly the worst espresso of my life. Do not sell espressos for 6$ if you do not know how to make one.We had one bite of our dessert and had all of the employees staring at us so we decided to pack up our dessert to take home because we felt uncomfortable.A different employee came to ask if we can pay our check (our waiter never came back, and never said thank you, - why would he care? He knew he was getting paid and his tip taken care of anyways right? Totally wrong mindset) but anyways we paid our 600$ check (between 2 of us) and gathered our belongings. While putting our jackets on the employees were standing not even a foot behind us waiting for us to leave...totally unnecessary because of the concept of being on top of us and also there were 2 water glasses to clean from the table - calm down. The behavior from the employees shows lack of empathy and I would not be proud to work in a place like this.On our way out we went to the ladies room, being in there for a total of 1 minute we hear VERY LOUD banging on the door. A man comes in to tell us they are closing. This was the most disrespectful, unnecessary, and unacceptable gesture. Question for the ladies: would you feel comfortable if a man was banging SO LOUD on the bathroom door then proceeded to step foot into the bathroom and tells you he will LOCK THE DOOR?Truly the biggest waste of 600$, they showed NO HOSPITALITY!!

Nobu lives up to its reputation. This place is perfect in every way. The services, atmosphere music with the low light setting and phenomenal food with dessert. If you never had Nobu before, it is a must try at least once to know what a fine dining is. We had the prime steak, sushi and sashimi and to no surprise, it was delicious. They have a wagyu beef dumpling that is out of this world but it’s not on the menu and is exclusive to New York Nobu, so if you stop by, please make sure to order it, you won’t walk away disappointed.

I had the pleasure of dining at Nobu New York in October with my boyfriend, and we were both thrilled for the opportunity to experience an elevated take on Japanese cuisine. Without question, this was the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. The service was impeccable, and the cold sake was absolutely delightful. Standout dishes included the king crab tempura, the wagyu dumplings (so exquisite they nearly brought a tear to my eye), the hand-rolled baked snow crab, and an assortment of sashimi. Each dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. We were seated in a cozy, romantic two-person booth that offered a lovely view of the entire restaurant, adding to the ambiance. Our server was attentive and ensured the evening was unforgettable. We can only hope Nobu decides to open a location in Seattle someday so we can relive this extraordinary dining experience closer to home!

We had an amazing meal at Nobu. The upstairs bar felt a bit unusual on initial entry, but once we got to the main dining room downstairs, we understood the full breadth of what this place was... impressive. Weve had great Japanese food prior, but the unique fusion and presentation of the dishes prepared here was definitely something special. The black miso cod was definitely the standout, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. But all of the other dishes were also amazing: Toro Tartare with Caviar, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, A5 Wagyu beef - tataki, King Crab Tempura, and the Caviar Tacos were all perfectly cooked and delicious. What also surprised us a bit were the desserts; gor people who are often western/Europe oriented with our dessert preferences, the options here were amazing and equally delicious. The service was also great, very attentive and pleasant all around. We had a bottle of wine for the evening which was kept chilled nearby and glasses filled regularly. The atmosphere of the place as I mentioned above was impressive. Dark and trendy but not overly dark. Was definitely a great people watching place as well, as a wide variety of party types were present. We will definitely be returning.

I love attention to detail. The downtown location is located inside of an old bank so there are high ceilings and columns that are eye catching. There is additional seating in the basement. Even with 2 floors of seating this place was full and getting reservations the day of isnt always promised so definitely make reservations.I cant deny that the food was good, but the prices were simply astronomical.I enjoyed my meal and my time here so Id definitely recommend for a special occasion or even better, a business meal that a company is paying for. I was excited to dine at Nobu Downtown during restaurant week. The food was delicious. The service was efficient without any courtesy or interest in providing warm customer service. Since we had restaurant week reservations, we were seated in the bar/lounge and not the main dining room. Although there were empty tables around us, several servers hovered and tried to rush us out. Each server made it a point to check if we had left our credit card in the check folder. A nice meal spoiled by the over zealous service to rush us out.

I recently had the privilege of attending a private event at NUBU, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this establishment is in a league of its own, blending impeccable service with a sophisticated ambiance and culinary excellence. The private event space was elegantly designed, offering an intimate yet spacious setting that was perfect for our gathering. The attention to detail in the décor was evident, with tasteful floral arrangements, soft lighting, and beautifully set tables that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The evening began with a selection of exquisite hors doeuvres that showcased the chef’s creativity and skill. Each bite was a delightful fusion of flavors, setting high expectations for the meal to come. As we were seated, the attentive staff ensured that every guest felt welcome and well-cared-for, providing impeccable service throughout the night. In conclusion, NOBU exceeded all expectations, delivering a private event experience that was as luxurious as it was memorable. The combination of exquisite cuisine, flawless service, and breathtaking views makes this restaurant a top choice for any special occasion. I highly recommend [Your Chosen Restaurant Name] for anyone looking to create unforgettable memories in a truly remarkable setting.

Given the hype and massive prices at this place this fell below expectations. Overall, it’s worth a try. Although, lower your expectations for your hard earned $$$$ that you’ll pay.We sat in the bar area and the service was somewhat slow which was understandable since they were understaffed. Servers were great and friendly even though they were busy.(Aside: what’s with the scantily clad servers? I noticed almost all the female servers were dressed to go clubbing. Is it in the uniform requirement to wear skimpy skirts and low cut tops? Perhaps, they cater mostly to business men. That gave the dining experience a yuck factor.)In terms of food, the rock shrimp, as is often mentioned in other reviews, was delicious. It reminded me of honey walnut prawns that you can get from most Chinese restaurants but a bit more tangy and spicy and not sweet. Then, we got the house special roll which was also good. Honestly, I’ve had better at far less expensive places. The rice and avocado was meh. It was more of an experience to eat but the crispy rice square and avocado was missing an umami-goodness.

This place came highly recommended to me by friends that know I love sushi! Again, this was my first time in NYC so of course I had to try it.I was reminded by it in the afternoon and realized that I hadn’t made reservations yet. I got online looking for a number to dial to call in reservations for the next day after our broadway show, lo and behold, they allow you to make reservations right from the google screen! So I tried to make reservations for that evening. I was able to do so and quickly set up a via to get me there within the hour (it was 8:00 and reservations were for 9:00). Via got me there within 40 minutes and I checked in with the very friendly hostesses. They offered to take our Jackets but we were okay with keeping them on...our table wasn’t ready as expected since we were 20 minutes early so we were seated at the bar. There the friendly bartenders whipped up a few drinks for us and got us to try some new sake, delicious by the way. I wish I remembered the bartenders names but I don’t. Extremely friendly and very informative. We then got seated at about 9:00 and were taken to the table, the table, although a little snug and close to the next table, (the back bench area with pillows) was still comfortable and private enough for my wife and I to have our own conversation. As the food rolled out we fell in love with every dish that came out. I couldn’t say anything bad about this place! The atmosphere was awesome, the live dj, the bartenders, the waitresses, everyone was on top of their game and we loved it. My recommendations is the sashimi yellow tail and must try the “diablo” sake (I’m guessing at this point as to the name of the sake). All in all, it was a great night and I would definitely go back! 🙌

My first time dining in Nobu and it was mostly great! The bench seats arent the most comfortable and left me feeling slightly too short for the table. The service was great and the servers were pretty attentive. My table decided to order a bunch of things off the menu to share, and they came out as they were ready, which took a bit of time understandably. I definitely wouldnt recommend coming here when youre tight on time though. I wish I had known that the sushi we ordered came with a bit of Wasabi hidden under the fish, seeing I have a low tolerance for spicy. Or maybe been asked if we wanted with or without Wasabi added to each piece. Not a major issue as the food was still pretty darn good and quality was great. The drinks were very expensive but it is nobu after all and they tasted good. We also ordered some desserts and I was pretty blown away by the mini doughnuts. The entrance is annoyingly difficult to find if you rely on Google maps since the sign for nobu is not as big or visible as I hoped it would be and Google maps just tells you that nobu itself is [somewhere on the block].

My husband and I had the Omakase. My only suggestion is to come up with a better way to tell us what we’re being served. It’s chefs choice so you don’t know what you’re getting. The wait staff tells you but it’s a bit loud and also you’re served a couple different items at a time, so it’s hard to grasp. But, what an absolute perfect experience. Was here for date night and could have been 5 stars but was disappointed in our waitress and the most expensive dish we ordered was way below our expectations. It wasn’t super noticeable at first but eventually it was clear our waitress didn’t really care about our table. When we were looking at the dessert menu another table was sat next to us and she checked on them 3 times before coming back to ask us what we wanted for dessert. She then chatted with them and making suggestions when she had barely said a word to us. Our bill was ~$300 but she obviously didn’t think that was enough money to give her full attention, and we eventually asked another person to close us out cause we were waiting so long for her to come back.Miso cod, lobster tacos, rock shrimp and buttermilk donuts were all amazing. Spicy edamame was good but overly salty. Ribeye with truffle sauce ($68) was very disappointing, super chewy and tough, wasn’t cleaned up good so the end pieces were a lot of tendon and fat. I would eat there again but hope for a different server and stick to seafood.

Made reservations for my partner’s bday since this is one of his favorite restaurants. Neither of us had been to this location so it was a bit of a gamble but we had so much faith in the brand we didn’t foresee an issues. We had 5:45 reservation on a Sat which is literally 15 mins after they open. Keep this in mind when you view the videos and photos of what the entrance looked like at the time of our arrival. I was sure we were in the wrong location, using the wrong entrance but as you can see it clearly states “NOBU” and front embrace. We saw dirty bottles, garbage, spilled fruit and all kinds of garbage on their steps. Not the streets, their steps.Once inside, the establishment did live up to the standards we expected. When we brought the filth outside to their attention, a tall Asian guy curtly responded “ that’s the neighborhood we’re in”. 👌🏾Once seated, we ordered the jalapeño yellow tail, he had a Bailey’s and I had a lichee martini. It was perhaps the worse I’ve had. His drink was fine. We got the miso cod, grilled chicken, Brussel sprout salad and edamame to share. My favorite was def the chicken which must have been sous vide because it was so tender and juicy with a slight char on the outside, seasoned to perfection.Towards the end of dinner they brought out the bday surprise which he enjoyed.Overall, a highly underwhelming dinning experience for $350. I’m sure folks will say that’s not a lot but I’ve been to other places with more delectable cuisine, better customer service and an overall quality culinary experience for less.Do better Nobu Downtown. Im pretty torn to leave this review because the service was excellent and the black cod was one of the best things I have ever eaten, the buttermilk donuts were great too. But everything else we had was aggressively mediocre, like exactly the same as any mediocre midwestern sushi place.

Everything was disappointing. Service wasn’t it, food was mid. Not luxurious at all

We chose the downtown location. I would have given 5 stars since the drinks and food were very good. I guess I expected a more polished service. Although the service was good coming in with the high expectation of Nobu I felt that the service was average at best and they weren’t very refined. The food was very good. I found the menu confusing but after going there this first time I would go back again and would be more prepared. We ordered multiple appetizers with only 1 main dish and shared. On the bright side I was expecting a much larger bill but that is partially due to the server under selling. Where if I made my own choices without his suggestions the bill would be much higher.

We ended up at Nobu after deliberating over several restaurants while in the city this past weekend. We were pleased with the overall experience. It’s a Japanese/Peruvian fusion restaurant as per the server we had. This is our third attempt to go to this restaurant after canceling our Vegas reservation due to some bad reviews and the NY reservation due to other obligations. We had a warm welcome and were seated downstairs which felt more like a fancy lounge. The ambiance is relaxing but we did experience some noisy diners nearby toward the end of our evening. Our server was informative and seem to know the menu well. He made some decent recommendations. Service was a bit lacking given we had to look for him a couple times and he never returned with an item we requested. The bus person had to bring the item. The bus person was hovering to take our plates while we were still eating. It must have been real busy. The Cocktail (believe it was called a sidecar) was on the lighter side lacking alcohol. We ordered the crispy rice tuna, miso soup, cod, sea bass, chicken skewers and edamame with Peruvian corn and a few sushi rolls. Everything was fair in taste but nothing that impressed. I enjoyed the scallop rolls the most of the sushi rolls. Both hot fish entrees were tasty. The crispy rice tuna had more creativity in appearance than taste. Our expectation on the edamame and corn as well as the chicken skewers was a bit sub-par. I don’t see the value in this restaurant given the pricey cost vs the food. I guess you’re paying for the name and location. We will try the Nobu in mid-town next time to see if the restaurant is worth repeat visits.

It’s not a place for Japanese food. The sashimi is very mediocre, it’s fresh, but not grade A fresh. Regular sushi restaurant quality. The decoration is leaning towards modern fine dining. The service is good but not great because the place is too crowded and servers are too busy to watch over their customers. The cocktails very nice tho. Overall good place to get some cocktail and maybe a few pieces of sushi to hangout with friends.

The food.. The service… Everything was on point… It’s pricey but the food was really good. We celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place. The ambiance was a little dark but romantic. If we are able to save some $$$ and feel fancy this is the place we’re gonna go back.

Beautiful space. Romantic for couples. I had a spinach salad with scallops and it was amazing! Pricey though. Service was not that good...my waiter disappeared after delivering my meal. Never checked on me and I had to flag another waiter to get my check.

I have been to several Nobu restaurants here, uptown, Miami Beach, Tokyo, and the original in Malibu. The quality and consistency are maintained in each one. The Rock Shrimp Tempura is simply my favorite dish in the world. The Miso Cod in Butter Lettuce used to be a secret, glad its on the regular menu now. Add some great Sake, extra sushi (which you order after) and a Bento Box for dessert and you will have a perfect meal. Expensive, but so worth it. I once took a first date here and the bill came to over three bills. Then again, we had a LOT of Sake and the date ended up lasting three days so again, well worth it.

Having been to London and Malibu Nobu restaurants, we expected the same level from NYC. The food was fantastic, really good. However, the service was rushed, robotic and impersonal, almost rude. Hovering around with the card machine when still drinking our wine. Really poor showing. Definitely better options for sushi in the city. Feeling really disappointed we wasted an expensive dinner out in a wonderful city. Would not recommend and will not be returning. Do better Nobu.

Great Ambience and very efficient and diverse staff members . The wait staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The food was good but very small portions so be prepared to order a few things . The bento box was amazing ! Nothings beats warm molten chocolate cake with ice cream !
