Beautiful and comfortable environment. Enjoyed the delicious food, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Love the caviar. The vegetables are tasty. My sister and I had a wonderful time dining and chatting. Had fun taking photo by the stair with my sister and owner Miki. Great for families and friends gathering. Love to come back again and again.

Things I liked: even on a busy night the restaurant was still quiet with well-sized tables and nice decor. The bar is very cute. Presentation of dishes is nice. People liked the lobster risotto.Things that underwhelmed me: the gnocchi was more generic in flavor It had mostly slightly sautéed button mushrooms and a slight truffle aroma but nothing that carried through into the taste.Service was fine.

Me and my husband booked a table for 13 for a post wedding lunch last October 11, 2024. I have nothing but positive to say for our lunch event. We had a nice and quiet table on the second floor and all our servers were very professional and friendly. They gave us a free champagne and came out with two sparklers for me and my husband. We found this very sweet and got really nice photos out of it! The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal from the starters to mains and desserts! They far outweighed our expectations and we are very content and happy. I have no regrets choosing them for our wedding lunch. The ambience was also perfect even though it was lunch time, the lighting inside made us feel like we were having a nice relaxed dinner which we liked and was exactly the ambience we were looking for. Overall, I highly recommend and want to say thanks to the events team and The Consulate!

This place has it all! The brunch menu is fantastic, with everything from perfect omelets to indulgent Eggs Benedict. The avocado toast is fresh and satisfying, and the pancakes are fluffy and sweet. For dinner, the burgers are juicy and delicious. It’s a great spot for big groups with a welcoming, easy-going vibe.

Went with work colleagues. I am not a great fan of French cuisine being vegetarian. This place was great though. The set meal option was great. Wine and drinks were awesome. Loved the service and the ambience. Nice and easy midtown location. Highly recommend.

We had a nice little lunch here in between visiting the Zoo and the MoMA.My young daughter had an excellent chicken sandwich here which they kindly modified to her preference. I sampled some of it and it was very good.My wife and I each had a French onion soup and their version was the best we have had so far on the entire east coast. Very savory and flavorful, and quite filling as a snack since it was a bit early for us for a proper lunch.Cocktails were excellent, I enjoyed both their take on an Old Fashioned (it included Mezcal) and the Lola. The latter I really enjoyed and while our waiter refused to procure the recipe when asked (boo...), the bartender immediately obliged (yay..). Ive made it at home and am thankful for making the visit there if just for this new cocktail addition to my library of favorites.Beautiful decor inside, brimming with the polish and charm of an elegant brasserie without any aloofness. The winding staircase is quite impressive.

I need to start this one with a negative. We ordered appetizers and dinner and our dinner was served while I was still eating my appetizer. This is such an issue for me. I said we were still eating the appetizers and the server just looked at me. Unfortunately this clouds my review because if a restaurant doesn’t think service and the guest experience is important then my opinion of the restaurant falls. We were there at 5:30 pm on a weekday and while the restaurant was busy it was no where close to full. The food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely but unfortunately I can’t get past the poor service. Amuse bouche was very good but thought it should have been served before the appetizer and not with it. Lamb tartare was delicious. Might be my palate but I wasn’t really able to discern lamb vs beef but still a very good tartare. Grilled artichokes were good but could have used a little salt. Kale salad was great, fresh crisp and not overdressed. Burger was also good. Cooked well, juicy snd flavorful. Fries were perfection for me. Crispy and not at all greasy. I feel badly giving the rating of 3 but for me service really matters.I appreciate the owners quick and thoughtful response to my review. Makes me think I will give them another try.

Service was a bit slow to start. Very narrow seating and therefore a lot of noise. Beautiful restaurant. I had the salmon and it was excellent. Competitive prices. When I visit New York City again, I will be stopping by this restaurant again for the flavors!

We went for the restaurant week dinner for our anniversary and everything we had was really good and the atmosphere was classy modern. My steak was cooked perfectly and my husband really enjoyed the scallop risotto. Cardamon PanaCota was delicious. Cesar J was our server and was very attentive and courteous. Rest of the staff was very pleasant as well - even gave us a little photo souvenir for our anniversary.

First time here and its definitely one of Midtowns best kept secrets! Decor made us feel like we were in France💗. Nikola, the Bartender was very welcoming and created two amazing cocktails. Well definitely be back👍🏻

Let me start first with the 5/5 stars on the service and the specialty drinks. The food on the other hand is uh questionable at best. The salads are what they are just alright, the French onion soup is mediocre at best and last but definitely the least were the steaks. Every steak that came to the table was over cooked, the server did offer to bring the steak back and get us new ones (one person in my party was a bit more vocal then the rest, the rest of us just ate it begrudgingly and held our tongues)but when you are charging 50$+ steaks why are they all coming out over cooked? The back of the house really need to temp their meats much better.

It’s my fourth time coming here and every time everything is perfect. My favorite plates are the short rib pasta and the gnocchi one, but the bone with fig jam appetizer is delicious, their mushroom pasta is phenomenal, and the service is excellent. I would recommend this restaurant 100% and for sure come back many times.

The first thing I found myself telling my server every time he passed by was, WOW. From the moment I walked in on Thursday night to the moment I left, I was in awe of the food, service, and atmosphere. We were served primarily by Nemo, who was an incredible server and I cannot recommend him enough. If youre lucky enough to get him, youre in for a treat.Now, the food and drink. We started with some cocktails and mocktails, each one had a great flavor profile but my favorite was the last one - the Amy. A great take on a G&T with a dragonfruit twist.Our appetizers were the bone marrow and the crab cake. Both cooked to perfection, but it was in the details that you could see the care that was put into it. The crab cake was stunning with the sauce pairing, and the bone marrow paired with the fig garnishes on top was a sweet component to the umami flavor of the perfectly-cooked bone marrow.Our main courses were the steak frites and the burger, both of which were cooked superbly. I ordered my steak medium rare and they got it perfect. The fries were also really really good!For dessert, we ordered the creme brulee and the burnt cheesecake (a special of the night). The creme brulee was probably one of the best Ive ever had with a sufficiently cooked AND thick sugar crust on top, and the custard being phenomenal on the bottom. The burnt cheesecake was also a delight, with my fiance noting that it wasnt too sweet (a good thing!)The atmosphere was stunning and super romantic. They even had a live jazz trio playing when I went, which added to the great ambiance. Overall I cannot wait to come back here - it was one of the most delicious meals Ive had in a while!

Correction... went to the UWS Location:My wife and I had a wonderful experience on Tues. 3/26/2024 (our 13th anniversary). Everyone was pleasant... from the hostess to Petra, our server; and the busmen. We ordered oysters and the wild mushroom Pinza bread with truffles for appetizer, and for our entree filet mignon, and hanger steak (perfect medium temp).The food was incredibly exquisite, and the drinks were also amazing (Kiss of life, and Old Fashion). It was our first visit, but we will be back soon (cant wait :-)

Loved the two-story restaurant!! Looking from outside , it had class. Decided to check it out after hearing about it’s opening in Midtown. We had sat upstairs , beautiful dining room. We ordered few appetizers like Shrimp Toast and Grilled Octopus, both were great. Decided to go with the Tomahawk for 2 , asked for Medium felt like it was Medium Rare but no issues we enjoyed it. We were with my brother and his family in NYC we were there just for 1 night came down from Montreal, We picked this restaurant as reviews were very good and we do enjoy French cuisine (we do live in Montreal) and we’re really surprised and throughly enjoyed dinner.We were a party of 6 we ordered 4 starters to share as we wanted to share and enjoy and for my brothers family to experience different food starters were snails, octopus salmon flatbread and artichokes me and my partner enjoy snails and well wanted to see how comfortable other people are yes it’s a an acquired taste but snails are really good.The rest of the meal was great the waiter was really nice super polite and professional atmosphere is very relaxed.

Perfect spot to celebrate hubby’s birthday. The ambiance is nice but the staff is even nicer. Initially we wanted to order the T-bone steak but they were out. We tried the following:-the tuna tartare served with avocado, yuzu, crisp shallots: hands down the best tuna tartare I’ve ever had. Must order.-short rib cavetalli: enjoyed the dish but needed a hint of salt to pull together all the delish flavors-steak frites severed with fries and peppercorn sauce: fries were superb - loved the crunch. The steak was cooked to perfection.-filet mignon served with mashed potatoes. This was the most underwhelming dish - just meaty but lacked taste. Needed a bit more butter, salt, pepper…anything.-crème brûlée: an excellent version, highly recommend it.Although on the reservation I specified we were celebrating hubby’s birthday, the restaurant did not bring out the dessert with candle/birthday message.

Went here for my Moms birthday. Everything is amazing the moment you come in. Everyone in the staff was nice, accommodating and attentive and we had Javier especially help us throughout the night.Since we came on a Thursday night, there was a live jazz band playing which makes it feel extra magical.Food was tasty and well prepared, we had the escargot and grilled octopus for appetizers. My mom got the special which was a scallop dish and I got the short rib cavatelli and we ended with a burnt cheesecake for dessert. For drink I got the Oui Mademoiselle which I recommend. The serving felt more than enough because we were already feeling full by appetizers.Overall, one of the best places I tried in New York especially after the pandemic. Definitely recommended and will come back (especially on a Thursday night or perhaps a Saturday brunch for the jazz)

Went for dinner with a friend and had an amazing experience.Our waiter Kenan was very attentive, discrete and a real pro. He knew all the menu and was very helpful with recommendations.The food was delicious from the starter until the desert.The manager Marco was very friendly and made sure we had the best experience.I would have love seeing few more white French wine in the menu but the cocktails were delicious enough to make me forget about it.Will be back.

Do not go here for a pre theater experience.We came 2 hours before our show (the restaurant only recommended 1 hour and 45 minutes before). We informed them of the show and asked for the pre theater menu. The staff the whole time was slow as molasses, it took 20 minutes to even take our order. We had to leave 20 minutes before our show started, and even though we had kept reminding the waitress (who we had to flag down), we left without any word of our desert being close to ready.I’m not one for leaving reviews or for getting upset at restaurants, but it really didn’t seem like anyone there cared at all about committing to the theater times they get people in the door for.

This is an amazing restaurant in midtown. The décor inside is great, you have a feeling this is a very classy restaurant with a wonderful ambiance. The service is exceptional the cocktails well made with quality ingredients. I forgot to picture the shrimp cocktail and the dozen oysters which were VERY fresh and were gone in a minute. The Branzino would just perfectly cooked, and the Tomahawk steak that folks in my party had was to die for. They did share a small piece for me to enjoy.Just a real classy establishment, great service and for the quality of food it is very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to be back!

Proper higher end French restaurant with gorgeous internal decor and excellent service. The color scheme works really well.The food however, was not a straight flush. Lets see:Shaved brussels sprouts salad and kale, 8/10, the Parmesan and green apple actually worked well in tandem, slightly on the tangy side but balanced by the dressing. The weakness was the texture, it was overall too rough, needed something else to balance that texture.Shrimp toast, 9/10, the shrimp and toast were both perfectly done and the flavor was good. Nice and crispy.Crab cake, 7/10, the disappointment of the night. What a shame. It had generous crab meat but the flavor was just flat. I could almost just as easily find a similarly mediocre crab cake at a Jersey Shore restaurant.Crispy Maitake, 10/10, I think this was the highlight of the night. Crispy at the outside and tender on the inside and the sauce was perfect for it.Halibut, 8/10, while the halibut itself was perfectly steamed, the flavor was again, too subtle/weak. I wish they could have either top it with some capers, or do some reduction on the sauce to concentrate it and give more punch to the halibut.Oui Madamoiselle, 9/10, good drink, slightly on the dry side, looked gorgeous and good balance.Value is ok, prices are slightly high but not outrageous and serving size is decent.All in all, its a good offering for a proper French restaurant, but perhaps just shy of bring creme de la creme.

Came here for lunch with my wife, we both loved the restaurant. We really liked the interior decoration, the music and above all the way staff treated us. Our waiter was Renan and he was very helpful and kind. He knew the menu very well and I went with his recommendation, (Prix Fixe Lunch Menu 3 Course) Crab Cake as the appetizer, Consulate Burger as the main meal and Bread Pudding for dessert.The Crab Cake was delicious. And I highly recommend the Consulate Burger. My wife and I loved the Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream.We are definitely coming back next time we find ourselves in NYC.

The Consulate NYC is a trendy, romantic, upscale restaurant with immaculate service. Everyone including patrons and staffs are dressed to impress so you better dress nicely as a respect. Booze & Blues is super rich in flavor with a smoky and nutty taste changing flavors as it goes down your throat. Delightful! Oui Mademoiselle, literally “yes miss” in English, tastes like a fresh puréed blueberry soda with a nice kick. Refreshing! The mussels is tender and bursting with flavor. Escargot is simply delicate and delicious. Sorry cute lil snails. Both the branzino and chicken is fresh and juicy with perfect seasoning. One bite and the word wow comes out automatically. This is the perfect place to fill your picky stomachs with your significant other. Don’t forget to finish the night off with desserts that taste better than a dessert shop.

I had an incredible experience at Consulate restaurant in midtown Manhattan. The escargot and bone marrow were amazing, offering a true taste of French cuisine. The restaurants beautiful design and atmosphere added to the overall experience. Okan, our server, was incredibly hospitable, and KAT, the manager, was fabulous and even helped me book an event. I also have to mention the fantastic Martini made by bartender Kiril. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

Visited The Consulate for Sunday brunch for 4 - had a wonderful experience! The vibe of the place is adorable and the food was very tasty. The coffee was the best of our entire trip to NYC! Thanks Cesar and the rest of The Consulate crew for a fantastic experience.

Terrible. The hostess is low key rude and then we were seated downstairs, instead of upstairs. This group of people who came in after us, asked if the area we were in was bar or table service. The dinner came out to over $250, and we were basically sat at the bar area next to the bathroom and kitchen. Service was very slow and the steak frites were chewy, not tender at all. For that price the food should have been superb.

We had a kale and Brussel sprout salad and cocktails. Just a quick bite. Sat at the bar. Only downside was they seemed to be out of every wanted. They were out of French onion soup? The bartender said the kitchen staff was mostly gone. It was about 1:30pm…

Everything was incredible! The food was unique and it exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was nice with classical music and dimmed lighting. The decor was well thought out and it flows well. The service was incredible. Our server Renan was consistently checking in and had good suggestions for orders. Would 100% recommend!

Very mixed feelings. We went for brunch and the food itself was delish. Ordered the croque monsieur and benedict; would strongly recommend both.However the atmosphere was overly stuffy and our server was almost entirely absent. After taking our order we didn’t see him again for the rest of the meal. Had to ask for our waters to be refilled multiple times, for plates to be cleared and the check to be brought. While I would love to return for the food the ghosting of our server and overly formal vibes are deterrents.

Onion soup was tasty but a bit too salty to my taste, more like a sauce than a soup. Drinks were good. Tomahawk for two was incredible, perfect medium rare, with super flavorful crust on the outside. Service was excellent. Nice ambience. Overall exceeded my expectations.

Loved the atmosphere definitely my kind of place. Great for big parties. I had a ton of wine with some friends & went to straight to dessert. The tiramisu needed a little bit more coffee it was too dry for my liking* I never write negative comments but I’m such a sucker for tiramisu I hope they fix it bc I really like this place & most likely end up ordering it again. The DJ was also really good I didn’t get her name but I really enjoyed the songs it wasn’t too loud at all which I appreciated and I sat directly in front of the DJ booth. Thanks for a lovely time!

Absolutely loved saturday jazzy brunch at The Consulate! The croque monsier was one of the best I’ve ever had- very moist and rich but not too heavy. Also loved the nutella french toast, although I would not get the side of fries again. The jazz band was wonderful, the service was great, and the decor was on point. Would definetly come again. I recommend getting there at 11:30 sharp (when the jazz starts) and reserving or trying to get seating upstairs. It was not crowded at all so you could get away with either :)

Welcome to here new neighbor. The interior is pretty beautiful, but. But. the food is really bad. i was ordered old fashion is too sweet and cant finish. the food is tasteless, $50 filet mignon too dry. There is no match. The service is very good. Honestly, food like this, wouldnt want to come back. total cost $130 included 25%tip.

Everything about the Consulate is amazing. Great food. Great service. You will have a far better meal here than at most of the big name spots in Midtown. Props to Cesar, our server and to the chefs for the best ribeye Ive had in a long time.

Excellent service, food and vibe here. Stunning two-floor restaurant. Came here for lunch on a weekday, with one of the guys that is part of my team. Had a table on the second floor, as it was way nicer and quieter than the first floor. Both of us did the prix-fixe lunch menu which consists of 3 courses. Enjoyed every single minute of my lunch here with one guy that is part of my team.I had the grilled octopus appetizer. Well plated, as presentation of the dish was stunning, all the components came together well. Very tasty. Second course, had the short rib cavatelli. Excellent, the best item of the meal. Super flavorful, my favorite, as the cavatelli pasta, shredded short rib and the other components blended perfectly into the dish. As part of the lunch prix-fixe, the grilled octopus was an additional $9 while the beef short rib cavatelli was an add on for $7, despite the additional cost, it was well-worth the extra money.The other person thats part of my team had the steak frites for the second course. The hanger steak was cooked to perfect medium. Also, the fries were extra crispy and well seasoned.We shared the herb-roasted fingerling potatoes side, as it was very crisp, flavorful and tasty. The exterior of the fingerlings are crispy, as the interior of the potatoes was very soft and tasty.On the presentation aspect, the presentation of every dish ordered is stunning.The staff was very attentive, non-intrusive, quick and informative, ready to handle requests.Will for sure come back for the delicious food and top-notch service.

The Consulate Midtown provided a truly lovely evening for my family. We enjoyed the bone marrow appetizer, duck, short rib cavatelli, bronzino, and pesto pasta. Everything was delicious! We also enjoyed the Lola and Oui Mademoiselle cocktails. Finished the meal with their cheesecake special. It was light, for me the prefect consistency. Similar to ricotta cheesecake. The atmosphere is warm and intimate. Our waiter, Cesar, was very attentive. Well definitely be back!

Came here for a spontaneous dinner and absolutely loved everything. This is their second location (the first is on UWS) and it’s absolutely beautiful. We ordered the short rib cavatelli, bone marrow, tomato salad, ribeye steak with peppercorn and bordelaise sauce. The flavor, the smell, the presentation… everything was to die for. I cannot wait to go back. This is the new best spot in Midtown.

I had one of the best dinning experiences at The Consulate. I started off with The Amy an exquisite drink of Gin, dragonfruit, and elderflower (I had 2). The Tartar trio is the perfect starter, light flavorful. OMG THE SHORT RIB Cavitelli is silky and sensational. I must commend Javier, Petar and Gerardo for their attention to detail and the warm friendly service. This place sexy and beautiful.

This place is a treat for all of your senses. Food is very delicious, service is perfect, staff is very knowledgeable of the food and drinks they are serving. If I have to highlight on thing that wood be the perfect Roasted chicken with spinach! I also tried Steak tartare - perfect, Muscles- perfect, gnocchi with mushrooms - perfect! We decided to try the $24.95 luncheon special after seeing an ad that listed various options for the week. The setting was posh with mirrors and comfy seating, and we had quick service with our food arriving in about 12 minutes. The green salad was standard but tasty with a creamy vinaigrette, and I enjoyed my burger, though the American cheese wasnt great. My friend and I loved the fries and shared a delicious bread pudding for dessert. Overall, it was a pleasant meal, but wed check the soup of the day before going again.

My husband and I traveled to the beautiful city of New York to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We had a recommendation to have dinner at The Consulate. We loved the place, it has a beautiful decoration, the lamps on the tables gave it an original touch. The music is very suitable and with a very good volume to listen to pleasant music and at the same time have a conversation. We were attended by Renan who was very kind, we could see that he is aware of what he is doing in addition to being patient with us while we decided what we would choose, he gave us recommendations that then ended up delighting us. The corn soup was a sensation for me and the Grilled Branzino Filet shaved Frennel was lovely. We can summarize our visit as the best option in all areas to have a nice and delicious dinner. Thank you very much to everyone who thanked us, especially Renan. We are definitely be coming back when we visit NYC again.

The service was impeccable: our waiter - though I unfortunately did not catch his name - was very friendly and professional, and gave excellent recommendations for our cocktails, appetizers, and mains.Lastly, the atmosphere inside this restaurant was absolutely fantastic, with small paintings on the old red brick walls, a beautiful staircase in the entrance, confortable seating, and warm dimmed lighting. I loved that the service and food set a high standard for this place, but the atmosphere didn’t feel too uptight like some other places try to be.10/10 experience, we’ll definitely be back!

We went here for brunch and the food was just so disappointing. The caramel French toast just had way too much going on that the flavors didn’t work and the bacon avocado toast didn’t have enough flavor.

Caesar was especially excellent- we have eaten at a lot of good places in NYC, and this was a standout by far. Food was FABULOUS, we were so happy- the T-bone steak was especially yummy and tender, and we have had steaks at some of the best places around! They brought us birthday dessert for one of the kids and so kindly made it an extra special night. Could not have better things to say. This place is a 10/10. We traveled from Maryland to New York for the weekend for my sister’s birthday! The food, the ambiance, the service—everything was 100% perfect! It’s an upscale, classy place with delicious food and well-crafted cocktails! Our server, JJ, was wonderful; he made sure my sister had a special night. Overall, all the employees here were pleasant. From the moment we entered at the host stand, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Additionally, they provide towels to clean your hands before your meal, and they also play sweet, soft music in the background.

The place looks very nice, as well as the food presentation, but the food quality and teast wasnt up to my expectations and pricy.

This was my first visit and what seemed awkward was the fact that the chef was preparing photogenic dishes for someone taking pictures. Thus the order kept getting screwed up, but luckily the bartender was my waitress and she was excellent. I think I would like to give this restaurant another try I had a very good Impossible burger. I’m not sure which brand it was, but it was very good. I asked for no sauce and it came with sauce just one of the things that’s got screwed up. The oysters were very good and the salad was very nutritious. I think if the focus of the restaurant was more on me then on taking the pictures I think the order would’ve been accurate. They would serve me something that I said no before they set it down and then realized it was for someone else. I really like the restaurant and I definitely will give it. Another chance. I was just sort of confused how things kept getting screwed up. I could tell that the service was excellent, but I don’t think it wasthe way it was intended due to distractions.

After visiting this location twice, I can firmly state that it is ideal for both business and family gatherings. Without a doubt, the food and service were outstanding. The best part about the restaurant, in my opinion, is the servers. They work well and are always willing to help. If you ever need anything, a good server by the name of Tamara (if I spelled her name correctly) will be happy to assist you.

My wife and I were in town and decided to have a nice sit down dinner before catching our train home and The Consulate didn’t disappoint! They had a great selection of food/drinks and very friendly staff. We were actually almost late for our train - and the staff was very accommodating and boxed our meals/gave us the check ASAP. Would definitely visit again.

The filet mignon was good. The truffle fries were terrible! Very oily and garlicky and have no substance!

We went there at night, and were seated immediately upstairs without having a reservation. We had a short rib cavatelli, gnocchi with mushroom and truffles, and the french onion soup. The french onion soup was very good, and the gnocchi was one of the best I’ve ever had and at a very reasonable price. Caesar J greeted us nicely, and gave us a very good dessert recommendation. He was really accommodating. We enjoyed the pineapple upside down with the passion fruit sorbet.

I went for dinner with my mom Friday night and it was fantastic! The mussels I ordered were so fresh and my mom loved her salmon. The service was amazing too. Our server, Tamara was very knowledgeable about all the drinks and all things regarding the menu. Not to mention the restaurant is beautiful!

Hostess’ disposition was unprofessional in handling dress code. The place is visually stunning and as a guest would expect to receive friendly service and an honest inform that a dress code is in place. Instead, the hostess untruthfully told my guest and I we couldn’t be seated because they were closing early for the day.It’s unfortunate that this fine restaurant handles these interactions leaving guests with any despondency.

I visited this bar with high expectations for a great experience, but unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The service was notably poor, primarily because the bartender was seldom behind the bar, seemingly overwhelmed with tasks elsewhere. This resulted in frustratingly long wait times for drinks, which, while amazing in taste, did not compensate for the delay. Additionally, the apparent short staffing only exacerbated the situation. The interaction between the manager and the staff was also concerning, as it was uncomfortably tense and conducted in front of guests, which I found inappropriate. Overall, while the drinks and atmosphere were a highlight, the service elements severely detracted from the overall experience

After visiting a consulate in Atlanta last year, I had to check out the New York location and it didn’t disappoint. Ambiance was impeccable. The dim lighting, music, decor was everything I was looking for in a early evening dinner. I ordered the French onion soup, mushrooms, and roasted chicken. Everything tasted delicious and was served promptly. I highly recommend the french onion soup which was packed with a lot of flavor. The roasted chicken was cooked to perfection. I would recommend pairing the chicken with one of their signature sauces. Also, the Excise Moi mocktail hit the spot. Shout out to Cesar who gave me amazing customer service all night. He was very attentive and proactive. I’ll definitely come again and will probably bring my partner.

My sister didnt like the short rib cavtelli meal but we did like it. She felt it tasted like a gourmet hamburger helper 😂. Me and my nephew thought it tasted good. I had the dry aged tbone cooked medium. The small half was like butter but the bigger half was tougher to cut even cooked to a perfect medium. If the whole steak was consistent to the smaller half, I would have probably given it 4 stars. My nephew had the steak and frites and was juicy even cooked to well done(well done is not my thing). The tbone was about $63. The steak and frites was about $53. The shortrib was $37. What brought this whole experience down to a 3 stars was the ceaser salad. I basically was given lettuce boats and slices of anchovies and ceaser dressing. This is my first time at a french restaurant. So maybe Im just not cultured to this type of food but my ceaser salad should not be 6 lettuce boats with some dressing and slices of anchovies. For that, I would never spend 25$ on a poorly made salad again

I hesitate to write a review because I want to be selfish and keep this place a secret, even though I know that is impossible! This location opened up recently, and we came for drinks a couple of times (great martinis). This time we came with our daughters fiances family from England. What a great choice we made, everything was great. We all enjoyed the food, and the service was amazing. Perfect evening.

My friends suggested we go here and I was a worried it was going to be pricey and not delicious or filling and I was so wrong.We had the oysters, the escargot and the crab cake which was actually more crab than cake worth the $30.I had the short rib cavatelli. She had the steak and fries (theyre double fried super crispy) and then we split the Brussels sprouts and the pineapple upside down cake (was heavenly).I really couldnt believe how delicious everything tasted.I had an old fashioned and she had something called the mademoiselle.We split the bill in half. My portion was $160 and honestly it was completely worth it.Obviously thats a special occasion meal for my budget but I loved it and the service was A1.The staff was very attentive, very fast. Very courteous. Very informative.

I visited this location for the first time today and was astounded by how fantastic it is—not just the setting, but also food and service. I may claim that the quality of filet mignon is such that I can live with it. Tamara, the service provider, was excellent and very kind to us. We appreciate everything she accomplished today, as well as the chefs who prepared our meal.

Great venue, beautiful & classy space, great attention from staff, unfortunately this is a restaurant and the food was hit or miss. In our case the big miss was the heirloom tomato salad. For $25, regardless of which restaurant, if the star of the dish is bland, too firm, and lacking any sweetness, thats a problem. This dish was poor, had one or two small strawberries cut up in it (the summer fruit part) but ultimately it was the tomato that was lackluster. Not once during the meal did the staff ask how things were. It was at the end it came up and I shared it was not good. To my shock after telling the staff and while walking out another staff member, maybe manager, tried to explain these were expensive tomatoes and sweet tomatoes is only one variety with questionable means to sweeten them. Not sure where hes from but across the US farm after farm produces delicious, colorful and flavorful tomatoes. A trip to Union Square markets may not be a bad idea. The other food we had was good, not complaints about the food. I think for the price it lacked being special but this rating would have been a four if the tomatoes were delicious or the staff cared enough to address the issue instead of excuse it.

We stopped for a late lunch after touring Central Park. We all ordered off the prix fixe menu so we could try more dishes. What a great decision! Everything was excellent, the food, the decor, and especially the staff. Renan and our staff truly made us feel like VIPs! If you find yourself in midtown near Central Park, definitely check them out! (If pumpkin soup is on the menu- get it!)

Wow! This place is just breathtaking. Starting from the ambiance, the interior, the decorations to the food, the drinks, the service from the staff.. no comment. Everything was perfect. The music was nice slow french genre that relaxes you and allows you to have an even better experience while enjoying the food and the drinks.The cocktail Amy and Mademoiselle were so delicious and we had the crab cake, bone marrow and tomahawk for 2. Everything was perfection and i recommend this place so much!

First time at The Consulate and it was amazing! The service from the front door to the table was phenomenal and friendly. Our server Javier was very knowledgeable on the menu items and even provided us with the best recommendations. I could not recommend this place enough for a group of friend or for date night as they have live music every Thursday and Saturday. I had the ribeye with the truffle fries and I got so full so it was definitely worth the money.

Delicious food, good vibes and welcoming atmosphere. Our waiter was nice and helpful. We went there for brunch and it was fun.

We had a date with my boyfriend in midtown, the staff was so attentive and food beyond excellent, will come back soon!

Our experience at the Consulate was made extraordinary by our server, Caesar. From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Caesars recommendations were spot-on, and he effortlessly accommodated our needs. His passion for providing an excellent dining experience shone through, turning a good meal into a great one.

Met friends here for a pre show dinner. Beautiful setting with a dramatic staircase. We sat upstairs. For the price, the food was fine but certainly not memorable. The bone marrow is not worth it. The French onion soup and Caesar salad were good. The short rib pasta was very rich. Friend ordered the duck special and they accidentally gave her chicken teriyaki. The manager made it right by quickly getting her duck, giving her the chicken to go, and all dessert on the house. The desserts were very good.

Horrible experience. Waited 30 minutes after being seated. Once we saw a mouse we left immediately!

Try this restaurant during Restaurant Week, and it’s definitely worth the visit. The dishes on the Restaurant Week menu were already quite good, and the snails ordered à la carte were excellent. Caesars service was also great.

The food was EXCEPTIONAL. We started with Mamalama & Espresso Martinis. We ended up having the tuna tartare, wild mushroom flatbread and crab cakes to start! Super bomb. We then shared the branzino and roasted chicken with a side of fingerling potatoes and broccolini. We finished the night with some reposado shots and bread pudding! 10/10!! Great for a date night, girls night or big events. The establishment is gorgeous and the customer service was supreme. The owner is also very involved and such a kind person!!! Go!

The female receptionist displayed extremely rude behavior. Despite booking an upstairs table, she led us to the 1st floor. When I inquired about the discrepancy, she sighed in response. Such unprofessional conduct is entirely unacceptable. Additionally, the quality of the food was disappointing. The fish lacked freshness and was overpriced. Given the abundance of superior alternatives in NYC, I strongly advise against dining here.

Phenomenal! The service is impeccable and Cesar and team was very accommodating and attentive.i will be back the next time in in NYC!

I went to celebrate my birthday on December 2th . Everything was fine food and drinks. I have bad experience with the waiter , not attention at all , I requested my check with another staff because the waiter never came to the table after dinner. But i saw him with others customers, laughing and having good time. maybe he thought weren’t going to tip him well . Never assume

Absolutely incredible! From the moment we walked in the door, the service was perfection. Genuinely surprised we managed to get a reservation same day. Our server, Cesar was an absolute delight. Were I a local, this would absolutely be a regular spot.

I just wanted to say that I am beyond impressed with this place; the food, the service, and the place itself all amazing. I came here tonight with 2 other friends of mine and we were speechless. I want to give a shoutout to the best service that we recieved tonight from Tamara!! She was great, very attentive to us, and so friendly our entire dinner night. I definitely recomment the Steak Tartare that she had recommended us as an appetizer, it was delicious. Thank you so much for having us! We will definitely be coming back!
