Went to this place for dinner. They really got a big place inside also have outdoor sitting. I ordered gnocchi pasta, seafood soup. The food served at good temperature. Also the taste was good too. However, they made the place so dark with low light that it’s not giving a good ambience.

Came here on a cozy Thursday before Christmas. We had a reservation but they make you wait until your entire party is there. Our full party arrived and they had a wait an additional 30 minutes until a table was ready for us which was ridiculous. The tables are also VERY small and close together so you may be constantly bumped into and not enough room for plates on the table. However the food came out fast and was absolutely delicious. We ordered mushroom bruschetta, fried artichokes, truffle gnocchi, eggplant parmigiana, and seafood stew. The food was good enough to go back but experience may be disappointing.

I needed to visit one more Italian restaurant to redeem myself from having had a bad experience at a restaurant yesterday, and Uva did not disappoint!I was greeting very nicely by who I assume is one of the managers and was sat in a nice cozy corner of the restaurant. Big kuddos to the owners; the atmosphere of this space is PERFECT for a date night or a nice cozy solo night. It is a Monday night so I decided to go with their meatball Mondays special, which for $48, you get an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a glass of wine. Not a bad idea at all! I was full after my first two meals so I skipped out on the dessert. My waitress was very very attentive and so friendly! She patiently guided me through the menu and made my experience much more enjoyable.I definitely will be returning here in the near future. Thanks Uva!

Beautifully dim lit dinner date location. We made a reservation in advance due to a large party, which ultimately got crammed into a corner due to the tables being so close (large shouldered people beware). The menu is very much a “plain” Italian menu. I can’t say that anything got me too excited. We started with the burrata which could have used some additional flare- prosciutto, arugula? For my main I got the truffle gnocchi. It was good but hard to justify the price point. Overall not over the moon but not disappointed.

Food 8/10Solid traditional pasta, a very local spot on the UES. The gnocchi was fluffy and chewy at the same time, super filling I couldn’t finish it. Calamari turns out wasn’t fried, but came in a salad, which was really good too.Atmosphere 8/10Definitely a place you come for an authentic Italian experience, loud yet elegant, a lot is going on but it’s organized and makes sense.Service 8/10Good recommendations.

The truffle gnocchi is to die for! We liked it so much we ordered another plate of it, and it arrived fresh and hot, like biting into a warm cloud. I’d come again and again just for if. The pesto pasta is also great, tastes very freshly made. Came as a close 2nd to the gnocchi. The burrata appetizer is also good and beautifully plated.Only downside is that it does get very noisy when packed and the tables are very close to eachother, making noise unavoidable. However, the great food makes up for it. Definitely one of the best spots in NYC.

The vibe of the restaurant is like a cozy old town, Irish pub with the decor to match. Luckily, we arrived and there was there no waiting time. We were seated right away, and the food came extremely fast, which was great. Unfortunately the bread was cold, the food was bland, and the staff was extremely inattentive. Overall the sangria was ravioli were ok.

Will probably come back on dinner time to make better opinion after reading the reviews. My experience is 3 on 5. I had appetizers, because it was for a solo light lunch. The taste is good. I really loved seeing this very wide and diverse menu. Which is really different compared to Italians in the city usually with the same menu over and over again. But this one was sooo different makes you want to come back; plus many of the options are vegetarian and mouth watering. BuT I was left on an average impression because I felt that the staff didnt care that much about the customers, I am not talking only about myself but even other customers. Really I was left with an impression of not that good service. Almost felt like I was disturbing the staff on their personal time. 😳

I recently visited Uva on a Friday evening with friends. Having had a great experience here before, I was excited to recommend it to them. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of expectations. We had a reservation and were squeezed into a two-person table (party of four, anyone?) which wasnt ideal, but hey, were flexible people and rolled with it since the place was busy.We started with appetizers—the vegetarian platter and bruschetta—which were both delicious. The Gavi white wine we chose was the perfect partner in crime for these starters. For the main course, we ordered three Melanzane alla Parmigiana and one Polenta. These dishes were good, though nothing exceptional. The real disappointment, however, came with the service. From the moment we finished our main course, we felt rushed. Instead of being asked if wed like dessert, we were immediately offered the check. When we decided to order dessert—a tiramisu and an apple tart with ice cream—things only got worse. Within minutes of being served, three different bus boys came by repeatedly, asking if we were done. This happened four times in just five minutes. To make matters worse, the check was brought to us unprompted while we were still eating, interrupting our evening further as my friends had planned to order espressos. When we brought this up to our waitress while paying, she explained that it was due to managements instructions and offered to have the manager, Giacomo, speak with us. Plot twist: Giacomo ghosted us! This kind of standoffish behavior from management was disappointing - apparently, addressing customer concerns isnt on their rushed menu!Look, I enjoyed this places food, but being treated like were in a dinner-themed escape room isnt my idea of a pleasant evening out. If theres a time limit on tables, just tell us - were adults, we can handle it! Until they figure out that good service means more than just rapid plate clearing, my friends and I will be taking our appetites elsewhere. The Bottom Line:Food: Pretty goodWine: Even betterService: More rushed than a packed 6 train during NYC rush hour ;-)Managers response: Missing in action

Popular neighborhood staple for dinner, date night or brunch! Consistently excellent food, service and atmosphere inside or outside. The homemade pappardelle ragu and the homemade gnocchi are always popular and delicious, as well as the frisee poached pear salad. Nutella lovers, save room for the Nutella sponge cake with ice cream for dessert!Ive been coming here for years, prices have increased, yet fair for the area and is reflected in the attentive service and good food. Without reservations, a busy bike lane and neighboring businesses, be prepared for a crowded wait during peak times. Get here early to avoid long waits.

Uva is a hidden gem in the UES for Italian food. Perhaps it’s not so hidden anymore since the pandemic, as they have the largest space for outdoor dining I’ve seen so far...Pre-covid they were always busy and I had always had to make a reservation in advance, but now they have so many tables set up that you can go without making a Rez. I went on a Tuesday night and it was packed, having to wait 15 minutes, which wasn’t so bad at all.The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. Also since Covid, they have you scan a barcode to view the menu which is nice.I’ve tried a few different dishes here but most recently had the Bigoletti di Barbabietole and tried the Rigatoni alla Siciliana, with the Brussels sprouts as a side. All were delicious.Regarding drinks, my friend and I tried the Red Sangria and the Pinacolada first. I wasn’t a hugee fan of the sangria as it just tasted like regular red wine, and the pinacolada was on the average side - wasn’t really a fan of the coconut flakes in it. We also tried the margaritas, which were good. They weren’t like a classic margarita but I did like them because they were a little bit different. The food is what really stands out here, and would recommend to anyone in the area looking for delicious Italian food.

Aesthetically beautiful restaurant and food definitely solid not amazing. Cool mocktails though. But service, highly trash. This is literally a block away from my place. Just stopping by after a long day of shopping and sudden blood sugar drop. One might say medically iffy. My would be waiter was out front...I reiterated do you have outlets? Seriously, no biggie inquiry, right? Right...The lady who seated me was chill about it. Made sure I had an outlet for my dying phone and my hefty bags of stuff. Cool beans. I ordered the recommended veal by my waiter since no substitutions. I get it and I respect it. Came out fast which I jokingly commented... Yall microwaving, lol. They give me pepper and some fresh cheese. Dope. Anyways, this is when it goes left. Mind you only there for an hour max. I get you have to flip tables to make your money. No rush of people or line but an eight table reservation on the way but it was empty and one gentleman. Literally just me and him on this patio. This gentleman was loud as hell on the phone saying weird incel/Andrew Tate misogynistic stuff like... Im just trying to eat and regulate my body. I dont know if my waiter was on game with what he was saying. But I just wanted out. And I told my waiter if that guy was leaving. Who wants to hear all that? I dont know if that was distasteful and hurt his sensibilities. But then my waiter disappears. And three different people ask me if I was finished consecutively. And the last waiter who asked me said that it was a shift change but I seen my waiter still there? 🤷🏿‍♀️🙄 Its cool I know whats up. So ✌🏿 and youre not getting a tip.The upper east side has plenty of Italian restaurants respectfully. Skip this one.

Sept 2021: The ortolana frittate was good, but the potatoes were disappointing. The adult lemonade was delicious and refreshing, but it was really tiny, like a 4-5 ounce glass. I’m assuming it was the brunch special size. Service was great and they have an outdoor covered structure which was handy in the rain.July 2022: Came for dinner this time. Had the appetizer special - roasted tomatoes with stracciatella cheese over arugula and balsamic glaze. So simple and so good. The bread took a little long to come out and I had to keep asking for more water, but overall service was good considering how busy they were.Gnocchi was delicious. It literally melted in my mouth. You can add truffles on top but honestly it was perfect without it.Only downside is you can’t sit outside if you’re dining solo - only the bar or lounge area across the bar. It was fine and service was still excellent, but I would have loved to be outside so I could people watch while enjoying my meal.

I would not recommend this place, the food is very disappointing. Baby artichokes were too fried, oily and not salty, truffle focaccia was cold inside and and the bread was not tasty. Truffle gnocchi was too creamy and fatty, did not like the taste as well. The Ragu was the only dish that was okay, but the meat amount there was negligible. Mulled wine was too sweet, I couldn’t even drink it. The price is high and the food is just bad. Cozy interior though.

We got Polpettine di Vitello (veal meatballs), which was $16 for six of the tiniest meatballs Ive ever seen in my life. They tasted overcooked and dry. For mains, I got the Petto Danatra (duck) and everyone else at my table got Gnocchi di Ricotta. All four of our dishes came out lukewarm and everything tasted bland and underseasoned. When we ordered, the waiter tried to upcharge us (Would you like to add truffles to the gnocchi? Yes. Ok that will be a $16 surcharge.)Finally it was extremely loud and despite being at a tiny table where we were all constantly bumping knees, I could barely hear my friend across the table. Conclusion: overpriced, below average quality food. Avoid like the plague.

I came here a few days ago to have dinner with 3 friends and I really liked the atmosphere (like Europe) but I must confess I felt a bit unsafe in terms of Covid. It was pretty crowded and I dont think the tables were socially-distanced enough. The waiters were definitely wearing masks and they were great (clean, fast, helpful). But maybe the restaurant could reduce the number of tables. In terms of the food, I shared the ricotta gnocchi and a salad with a friend and they were good. The restaurant was flooded with people and they have three areas - main dining area, garden and wine cellar. We had a reservation so we were instantly seated in the garden area. The place is little tight a d was bit noisy but it was still pleasant. Now for food - I order gnocchi and penne and they both were great. My favorite was gnocchi and I am definitely going back to have it. Gnocchi was very soft and the truffle oil in the sauce was absolutely amazing kick to the dish. The dessert was a let down. I ordered Nutella with sponge cake I believe and it was straight from the refrigerator and hence was quite hard plus it was very normal. The meal would have been perfect without ordering the dessert!

Service was fantastic. We ate outside but the inside is beautiful. Food was a split bag. The polenta tartufata was wonderful. I would order this 1000 times over. The entrees left much to be desired. I ordered the Cavatelli al fior de pesto. I ate about a quarter of it before I had them take it away. The sauce had a really bad after taste, almost like the cheese had gone bad. I’m not one to waste food, so it was really hard for me to not try to finish it. I didn’t ask for it to be taken off the bill and the server didn’t offer, but it still always sucks the pay for bad meal. My partner had another dish that wasn’t bad, but was a situation where less is more. I would come back an app, a drink, and maybe to try a cheeseboard but I don’t think I’d do dinner here again based on the entrees.UPDATE: Bumped from three stars to four stars for the response to the review. Its good to know that the restaurant cares about your experience, and to be fair, they cant fix what wasnt asked of them.

Overall food and ambience was very nice! The garden section in the back is beautiful! I did have one issue. I have a gluten allergy and I usually never expect a restaurant to accommodate me but I called ahead to ask about gluten free options and the person I spoke to said they could do gnocchi and fettuccine gluten free and that there should not be an issue. When I arrived and spoke to my server, who was lovely, informed me that they actually boil the “gluten free pastas” in the same water as regular pasta (which defeats the whole purpose). If you’re going to say you have gluten free option for pasta dishes they should be actually trying to not contaminate it with gluten. In my opinion, I don’t think it should be be hard to have a separate pot of water. My server was super great and I was able to have the short ribs which were pretty good and all of my friends said there meals were great!

I feel like I really need to go here for dinner to get the full experience. Most of the 5 star reviews I have seen rave about dinner. As far as brunch goes I would love to make this my go to spot when I occasionally visit the Upper Eastside...I just wish they could make a few minor adjustments. When we arrived today for brunch (I requested we sit out on the lovely garden patio...even requested it in the reservation I had made ahead of time). The hostess gave me grief about sitting out there because we were only 3 people. But the gentleman actually conducting the seating (unclear if he was a manger or not) was very kind and graciously seated us out there. We were very grateful for that. I had the brunch special and chose strawberry mascarpone pancakes with a side of sausage. It is just one huge pancake...and it is was PERFECT!!! Crispy edges and thick, fluffy, and light in the middle. The sausage was also very tasty. But the cocktail that came with it left much to be desired. It was tiny and watered down. Maybe next time I should get a glass of wine. I even ordered a second cocktail (because at least it did taste really good...prosecco, St. Germaine, and grapefruit juice). Since this additional one was not apart of the special I was hoping it would not be tiny and watered down...but it was...VERY DISAPPOINTING! My friend had a frittata with bacon, asparagus, mushrooms, and mozzarella and rosemary potaoes... both were VERY GOOD!!! And I have ordered the frittata in the past as well...VERY GOOD. My other friend ordered warm focaccia with nutella...DONT ORDER THIS!!! It was a major waste of money and not good at all. Overall my own food was great and the atmosphere is incredible...charming, quaint, and just a little bit rustic. Just wish the drinks were not so weak (especially for the price) and the service was just a smidge better (as my friend got the brunch special too and they totally forgot to bring her cocktail to the table...she had to ask for it).

We arrived at our table and we were a bout 6 inches from the next table ( its New York ) who unfortunately for us were doctors discussing a graphic case they had seen earlier in the day. Nowhere to sit and nowhere to stand without constantly having to try and maneuver yourself out of the way of the servers who were trying to get by and deliver plates. Waiting 30 min after our reservation time, checked in with the hostess again and she told us that we are on the list and our table is going to be ready soon. Another 30 min goes by and still no table. Around an hour and 10 min after our reservation time, we see people who walked in well after we did, being seated. We find out that their reservation time was 30 min after ours. We finally decided to leave. It would have been nice if they let us know upon arrival, “it’s an hour wait even with a reservation,” so we could have made our own decision. But honestly, why bother even taking reservations if you can’t manage it?

I have been to Uva many times, but this last visit will be our last sadly. Service was fast, but basic things like letting us know the servers name when we were greeted would be great. And not pouring our wine glasses to an insanely high level when we purchased a bottle would be nice. But the icing on the cake is we are now 2 days into massive stomach pains and not feeling great after eating there. Maybe it was our cheese plate which took LITERALLY less than 1 minute from ordering to reaching our table? I mean did they have the cheese just sitting outside? Whatever the reason, this is not the same place as we have been multiple times. And Id rather eat Wendys then come back here.

I recommend ordering a lot of different items, a glass of wine and sharing with your friends. The back patio offers the best seating, although everywhere inside is lovely and rustic. Just don’t settle for outside in front, you lose the atmosphere that really makes Uva one of the best places to enjoy an Italian meal.

I went here the other night and let me tell me this restaurant is not welcoming towards African Americans. My friends and I were sat and didn’t get any service for about 15 minutes which was after we ASKED for some service. From that point on we had 2 different servers come up to us and just give us menus then disappear. We had to then wait once again another 15-20 minutes and ask if we can order now to a completely different server. Now we have no issue waiting if it’s clearly packed but there were two bigger parties of white family’s that walked right in about 5-10 minutes after us and was serviced IMMEDIATELY by a server and got real service. All we got was menus that we ASKED for and service that we ASKED for. Food is good but service is DIRT!!!!!!!

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Uva on a Saturday night. We were told on the phone that reservations were not possible. We arrived around 9:30pm and were told that there was a 40mn wait. I left my phone number and after 20mn, I received a text message saying that our table was waiting for us. We had a table in the back room, an adorable place with authentic toscan atmosphere. Yellow cob-made walls with climbing plants and vine shoots creeping along the ceiling, we felt just like in Italy. The menu is simple but the starters and entrees are so different from one another and so appealing that it took us a while to make our choice. Dont expect pizze or cheap pasta here! After a nice starter made of flat bread stuffed with a mixture of ricotta cheese and truffle cream, we went for gnocchi with gorgonzola and beet roots and fettuccine with shrimps, tomatoes and zucchini. Such a delight! We were too full for a desert afterwards but Ill definitely come back to try the tiramisu. Prices are more than correct for the quality and the neighborhood, and service was excellent, both careful and discrete. Our new Italian go-to!

I usually dont remember the waitstaff but on this particular experience I was served by our waiter Kevin and he made great conversation while keeping on top of not only my order but several large groups who stopped for brunch. A real stand up gentleman - if you have the opportunity to have him as a server hes great and I threw him the deserved extra tip. One thing I can say is I wish I got more bacon and that the location for the outdoor seating leaves you in a prime position to get bodied by a bike - but even when that happened our server made sure that me and my friend was properly attended to. Highly recommend and if this review gets you to go Id ask that you specifically ask to be served by Kevin for your best experience possible.

I wish I could give this place zero stars because I was completely underwhelmed by the food and the service. I will start off by where I was seated. The restaurant was half empty and I was seated at the very back patio away from the music and the ambiance. The patio was completely empty. It’s almost as if I was profiled just by the way I was dressed. A group of two girls who were dressed similarly to me were sat down at the patio as well. When I received my food it looked unappetizing and with the first bite I was immediately disappointed with the lack of flavor. The waiter didn’t even have the decency to come back to check if I needed anything else or ask how everything was. While I was eating, I heard one of the servers talk to another server look at the two girls sitting at the patio and called them “fat” in Spanish which I thought was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. This was my first time eating here and it will certainly be the last.

What kept it from being a 5 was how fast the dinner entrees were served - and they tasted like the had been sitting under a heating lamp. The duck breast would have otherwise been very tasty but had gotten dried out and chewy; sauce was congealed on the plate. The pasta was a generous portion; the calamari primi was lightly fried and tasty. Interestingly, they didn’t rush us out after the meal so perhaps a case of being overly efficient with food service. A manager came over a view minutes later and said flatly, I heard you found a hair in your dish. No one in the kitchen has hair that long. What do you want me to do about this? Very nice service, good place. Went for our engagement dinner, they surprised us with a heart shaped piece of bread. Is a very crowded place, waiting is long, made our reservation at 9.30pm, got there 9pm and we were sitting down at 9.45pm. But other that this, its a nice place and good food.

Delicious food, maybe slightly overpriced. Waiters are good, but it is annoying there is no consistency with the mask wearing. I dont care about your vaccination status, if you are serving me food, I expect you to wear a mask in this day and age. Host is kind of a jerk. Only saying this because I go there a couple of times a month, and he is a little rude every time.

Incredible food and great COVID-19 precautions. We sat in the greenhouse and were far enough away from others to feel comfortable. The greenhouse heating is warm and there are open panels to ensure that there is ventilation (so many other restaurants have basically just built indoor dining outside with no air flow).Great charcuterie, wine, and gnocchi! I’ll definitely be back!

Cozy place with good food and friendly staff, great for late night dining – Extremely friendly staff. Nice cozy ambiance and decoration. They have a phenomenal wine selection (including some very reasonable bottles), an eclectic menu, and a definite and unique feel. A great choice for late night.

Incredibly cozy and charming interior. Food was excellent. Ordered eggplant involtini and calamari appetizer. Eggplant was superb and the tomato sauce was flavorful and let the tomatoes shine as they were clearly of a superior produce and didnt require much dressing up. The calamari were simple and grilled, tasted very good though I am partial to breaded and fried with a rich marinara to dress them. I ordered the salmon alla mostarda for my entree which was perfectly done and full of delicious fresh flavor that had me wishing I had just one more bite. My date had the chicken with artichokes and he cleaned his plate. Great service. Great wine. Great night.

My boyfriend loves this place and I can tell why. We got 2 appetizers, one entree and one bottle of Riesling. Totally fell in love with the ricotta cheese. Meatballs are meatballs to me. The seafood soup is so aromatic and savory. Nice service and very cozy atmosphere.

We were seated quickly but it wasn’t a particularly warm welcome. It took ages for our server to introduce himself, meanwhile he was taking orders from tables seated after us. Order-taking was efficient to the point of being brusque. Questions were answered, but answered tersely. No one was rude and we were taken care of, but it felt oddly rushed and transactional for an old-school Italian spot. The food was good but not so outstanding I’d make a special trip for it.The grilled shrimp was fresh and well cooked, although the avocado, tomato and palm heart salad was a little underwhelming. The burrata was admittedly awesome in both flavor and presentation, with the fava bean accompaniment surprising me with how well it paired with the cheese. The gnocchi di ricotta was good but a little heavy for my taste, but that’s probably on me. (I have no idea what the other reviewer complaining about portion size is talking about; the portions were so big I couldn’t finish.)The garden space is nice, though cramped, and the chairs were a little uncomfortable. It was also louder than I expected (with another large party in the space), so it wasn’t quite as relaxed and romantic as I was picturing in my head when I suggested the place to my family. One thing I will say is that the prices seem outrageously high for what you get. I know NYC is expensive and people have to make a living, but $27 for a bowl of gnocchi? For the prices we paid, I’m accustomed to much better service and surroundings than what we got here.Overall, it was… fine? Nothing was obviously bad, certainly not enough to say anything, but nothing was great either. Comparing our experience to other reviews, it seems something must have been off the day we came.If I’m in the area again I wouldn’t object to coming back for another try, but I think I’d try the other nearby options first.

Solid Italian spot in the UES. Pastas are great and they have some tasty wines. I love their gnocchi. The ravioli was a bit salty, but that was likely because it has pancetta. The Food comes out super quick. Great place worth trying.

This place is absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is wonderful and the waitstaff doesnt dote on you if youre clearly taking your time which I can appreciate. Also, the wine is terrific. I highly recommend this place, especially when youre looking for someplace to chillax and eat great food on a late night (theyre open until 2).

A great authentic Italian (not as common as one would expect in New York) with outstanding antipasti and starters (try the ricotta and truffled honey bruschetta) and high quality wine. Pasta dishes were very good and tasty but perhaps didnt blow us away quite as much as they should for an otherwise excellent restaurant. Service was also a bit patchy - with an excellent main waitress who made great wine recommendations, but odd delays from the rest of the staff in, for example, bringing main menus and the dessert menu. Still, would highly recommend this place, the bustling atmosphere running across two outside areas and the main restaurant is also very enjoyable.

I went by myself after work- ordered a gnocchi. The waitress didn’t even offer fresh pepper, needless to say shaved truffles (for extra $$$) as it is mentioned in the menu. She judged the book by its cover, and choose to just be walking bet entrance and the bar area chatting w/ others employees as the restaurant wasn’t busy.I rather go to Urbani, get my own truffle and cook my pasta next time.

My wife and I have been going to UVA for awhile and we love it.My wife noticed they have a new hostess (Yaren) and she is sooooo super friendly and polite and courteous. We feel she is such a joy 🥹.UVA, you’re fortunate to have her on your side. People/customers first interaction is with this person and she’s a perfect front person for your establishment. (First impressions are key)And the food is great too. We love this place and thank Yaren for making it such a nice experience.

Very enjoyable and reasonably priced Italian restaurant. The portions are very European in nature as to say you will really go home with a doggy bag but you wont leave hungry either. Between all the appetizers that was shared at our table and my main course which was the duck not one item was subpar. This is by no means what I would call a high and elite Italian restaurant, but considering the more than reasonable prices you cant get a better deal for such a good meal in the Upper East Side when it comes to Italian food.

Such great food! Came with a party of 5 and no one was disappointed. Started with a mozzarella and a burrata appetizer, both were pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. Ordered the truffle flat bread and was blown away. SO GOOD.We also tried the mozzarella in camica, which was kind of heavy but tasted great.3 pasta entrees were all really good (something with pesto, a regular marinara with mushrooms and then the fettuccine con gamberi e zucchine, all great). The gnocchi was amazing (also has truffles on it). I split that and the braised short ribs, which helped balance out the truffle/creamy sauce of the gnocchi. Would definitely recommend doing that because the gnocchi alone probably would have been too much. Portions were all pretty big (the pesto pasta was the smallest, but was still more than enough).Service was great and the outdoor patio was the perfect way to enjoy the nice weather without the noise of 2nd avenue! Also know that there is one bathroom that barely fits a small child but if you need a bigger one there is another that has way more room!Would not bring big parties (6+) here because the entire restaurant is pretty narrow so it could be a bit much

The receptionist took down our info and quoted a 15-20 min wait time and after half an hour there still were no tables available. Checked in with her again and at this point she said there are five groups ahead of me. We waited and watched her sit 4-5 parties of people and checked in again. At this point, she said we are fourth in line! What an absolute joke... quoted a 15 min wait and ended up waiting over an hour.. should have gone to Quality Eats next door perhaps...After sitting, food was mediocre. We had filet of sole and stuffed chicken for main with charcuterie board for appetizer. Fish was bland and chewy. Only plus is this restaurant is close to where I live on UES.

In a city with fabulous Italian on every block of virtually every neighborhood, what distinguishes Uva is its cozy, rustic atmosphere. The indoor environment is warm and inviting, but the open-air patio out back is particularly alluring—certainly worth the additional wait when the weathers nice. Kill the time with a glass of wine at Vella two doors down.Do take note: the indoor dining tables are adorned with fake candles. And dont be mislead by the real candles in the bar area.Aside from atmosphere, the food at Uva is adequate, while the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient—all for a sound value for a delightful dining experience.

This is a great little spot on the UES, I went with a couple of friends for breakfast on a Sunday and it was packed! The restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere and the ambiance reminds me of a restaurant from Disney. The food was amazing as well! We tried a few different selections, and the pancake and frittata were to die for. Bruschetta was great too! I would definitely recommend the food, and it’s probably a good idea to get a reservation as there was a line when we left. This is definitely on my places to go back to in NYC list.

Alisa was fantastic as our server! She paid close attention to detail and even made sure I received a new menu since the original one she was about to hand me was dirty. The staff were fantastic and made sure I never had empty water. Food was great. Im a stickler for being kind and it was sad to see management be rude to staff. The hostess at the front didn’t deserve particular comments made by the manager. This is the reason for a 4/5.

The food was very well put together and the waitstaff was very accommodating. The Bruschetta appetizers were very good - especially with the truffle oil honey. The Mezzaluna with prosciutto was very good, although there was a little too much cream sauce. The seafood with fettucini was very well balanced. The only negative was that the table next to us were a little loud, which made conversation more challenging.
