We stumbled into Zinc Bar by accident on New Year’s Eve. This is one of the coolest places I have ever been to. Everyone on the team was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is hip and cozy. There isn’t anything to not completely enjoy about this hidden gem. The libations are expertly crafted and each sip is delightful. Treat yourself to an amazing cocktail and experience Zinc Bar today. Can’t wait to go back. God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold! Remember Everyone Deployed Everyday!

I’m rating a 2 star only because the website was not clear on their weekend schedule. I attended on a Saturday which is listed as “open” . I tried to call prior to make sure I did not need reservations but their number listed did not work. I went anyway with the expectation that there would be live jazz. However, when we arrived, they stated there was no live music on Saturdays. Multiple people had the same expectation and were also disappointed and left . I stayed since I drove almost one hour to attend. Ordered some cocktails. Cocktails were underwhelming. Unfortunately the hype on IG did not live up.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE and read the reviews. The owner is a drunk and a SCAMMER. They tell you as you are walking in the door that there is a cover of $30pp for the jazz show in the back and that drinks will be DEDUCTED from that cost. But NO they add it to the bill. When we told our waitress she quickly ran off and called the manager (clearly not their first rodeo). The manager who was DRUNK came over to us. Eyes rolling to the back of his head and slurring his words and goes you guys heard what you wanted to hear. Disgusting accusation. Never ever ever supporting this business again. Save your money!!

The place and the band were really nice. The cocktails had ice chips in them and they skimp on the egg whites in the sours. Above average pricing for below average drinks. I would have still left 4 stars but felt very disrespected by one of the hosts. Here’s what happened.. one of the ladies rest room doors doesn’t lock. My wife was using the restroom and asked me to stand outside to make sure no one walks in on her. I must have waited in total about 2 minutes. One set of ladies came to the powder room area and I explained the situation to them and they didn’t seem to have a problem and understood where I was coming from and why I was standing there. 10 seconds later the host walks in and tells me to stand at the entrance of the powder room instead and his words were “you’re standing outside the ladies room” when I explained the situation to him he said “It’s kinda weird what you’re doing there” i apologized and left, though I found this to be quite disrespectful and it left a very bad taste. I actually love the music at this place and the vibe but this completely ruined it for me. Probably won’t ever go back after this.. my point is if you’re concerned about women feeling uncomfortable why not make sure the restroom door locks in the first place? Ruined what was otherwise a good evening and show.

I was looking for a Jazz bar and stumbled upon Zinc bar looking for some Jazz. I walked in and was able to get a seat by the bar. I did not enter the room where the music was. It was a Thursday night that was Cuban Jazz. I felt lucky to be able to hear the jass play while I enjoyed a glass of red wine by the bar. I think it was a Bordeaux wine. Very rich and fruity with almost cherry notes. The staff was very friendly and attentive, providing menus as well as the bill when asked. The Cuban Jazz night is an absolute must! I will be back here. I can tell they make great drinks here and yet to try the food, but the menu looks inviting. Friendly staff from the door to the bar, perfect for catch up with friends or a date night.

I had a really good time watching the band tonight, but one of the bartenders just ruined the experience for me! The musicians were so good, but one bartender treated me like a criminal the whole time I was there, repeatedly asking for payment after I explained to her that I had opened a tab with one of the other bartenders (whom was also holding my card). I can honestly say that I was very polite to her the whole time, but despite this, she brought the bill as soon as the band had finished, (which she didnt do to any of the other tables) and when I came up to pay, she aggressively informed me that my jacket was still at my table (implying that I had to leave immediately). I really cant work out what I did to be treated like that. This was all after I spent over $60 on the cover charge and 4 drinks! Sad to have such a great live music experience tainted by rude staff.

Tickets were booked in advance in hopes of enjoying a nice jazz show while seated at a table to celebrate my birthday and traveled far yesterday evening to do so but our seats were given away because apparently seats are given away 15 minutes after showtime but that isnt displayed or relayed anywhere to give guests a heads up, we arrived at 7:15 pm due to unexpected traffic that was more than the usual and were asked if we could wait for the later show but we could not. We were seated in an uncomfortable back area where its difficult to enjoy the show with the constant noise from the patrons in the bar area and staff in the kitchen area, seating area was directly behind the kitchen which is separated with only a curtain so every rumbling of a machine and dish slamming noise easily overpowered the performers. There isnt a number listed which wouldve helped to try to inform of our delay so that our seats wouldnt have been given away so fast and easily. What was able to be heard by the performers was nice while it lasted. Seating definitely plays a big part in whether you will enjoy the show or not. Also reuseable straws are given so we were told there werent enough and could only be given one since all of the straws were currently being used.

I enjoyed the live jazz but was happy to sit and listen to them croon while I sat at the bar. It was enjoyable meeting people, sipping on a cocktail or a good cappuccino, all while being surrounded by delicious music. For the true jazz enthusiasts who want to get closer to the action its $15.00 bucks to sit as an audience member for the live performance. Not a bad price to pay but Im sure one would expect to keep the cocktail server busy with some mandatory drink minimum. I prefer the place after the scheduled covers are finished and jazz players from all over NYC come out at 11:00 to have a jam session. The only small hang-up for me was the semi-creepy owner who kept trying to talk to me and brag about how it was his establishment. I go for the jazz not to be hit on by the owner but hey...thats NY. Cheers! :-)

Party of 6 of us arrived here on a Saturday evening. Since we friends were meeting after a long time, we wanted to chat while hoping to catch some of the live music. Well, this place was just perfect as there is a tiny lounge area right at the entrance of the bar which has a comfy sofa as well as some chairs and small tables. We could hear the live music that was ongoing in their music room (which requires a cover charge of usually $20 over weekends) but it wasnt too loud to drown out the conversation. Drinks were priced OK. No draft beer but a small selection of bottles. Because they dont serve food, you can BYO (provided its not a big box of pizza) -- we stepped around the corner to the local 7-11 and bought some cheese and nuts to enjoy with our drinks. The service was a bit slow (we had to call for the waitress twice) but friendly enough.

Zinc was a reserved quiet spot with the look of a speakeasy, yet somehow readily accessible in the West Village. They apparently serve as a venue for live music as well. The staff was easily able to keep up with simple drink orders, but the wine menu seemed small, and they offer nothing in the way of food.Might be a cute date spot, with a few curtained booths and dim lighting, but its hard to know what it fell like on a much busier night. In that area on a non-peak evening, Zinc stands apart as a simple affair, where you can duck in to avoid the usual crowds of the area.

Wish I could gatekeep this gem 💎 my (now) husband and I had our first few dates here - its super romantic, the cocktails are classy classics with a twist (the Green Dolphin, Earl Grey Martini, Pisco Sour and Birth of Cool are delish - the butterfly pea flower infused gin sour with egg whites inspired us to serve our own variation at our wedding), and the music - its excellent. We now frequent as regulars. The owner (who often sits out front and super friendly) is deeply passionate about curating excellence and it shows. He brings only the best of the best in jazz. There is a bar up front and a jazz room in the back for performances. If you arent able to snag a ticket to a show, you can sit at the end of the bar and still get to enjoy some of the music. For shows, we sometimes bring our own bottle of red wine.Love the exterior - feels very Miyazaki-esque, transporting you to another time in another world. The interior - very art deco, cozy yet refined. This spot is such a hidden gem and though I wouldve loved to keep it our little secret nook, great treasures like this need to be shared with the world and cherished by many!

They will hold your card, which is common in NY.Then, they put me in a table and when I asked regular water JUST TO START, one of the waitress said in the rudest way you can imagine: “You need to ask at least one drink of 10 dollars!”.I decided to leave and I asked the waitress to give my card back, and she answered “what do you mean with You cannot stay”. Bad costumer service, unfriendly owner, HAD MY CREDIT CARD HELD HOSTAGE... I went with a friend, who bought an offer from Google (buy one, get a second pass free two months before going), and the owner and bouncer after inspecting it, approving, and clicking on it (cashing it in) harassed us through the night saying that we need to pay for the second ticket despite having accepted the offer. Through the night, he walked up to us several times. They stood behind where we were sitting, not far from us, and were talking about what to do about the offer loudly, and were looking it us. It was quite uncomfortable. I felt unwelcomed and do not understand why someone would put out an offer online and not honor it, or cash in the offer at the door and approve, than later walk up and ask for more money.... ?Finally, I asked to close my tab, finding it too much... and surprise surprise, besides my bill they charged me an extra $15... without notice charging my card (not asking if I want to pay cash for it, or informing me personally that I need to pay...since they had the conversation throughout the night with my friend.... besides the point that my friend invited me and wanted the cover my charge) THEY KEPT MY CARD, and did not return it, until I paid for my entrance... So I signed the bill and gave it to the waitress who asked me if there is anything else I want. I HAD TO SPECIFICALLY ASK THE WAITRESS TO RETURN ME THE CARD!!!!.... at that point I could not wait to get out of the place. Unethical and unprofessional behavior.Overall, it was a bad experience. Was harassed by the OWNER, BOUNCER, and brushed off by the WAITRES... who while waiting for my friend to pay his bill was GIVING US THE LOOK, and ROLLING HER EYES. I am aware, the waitress could not help the owner and bouncers behavior... however, there was no need for the look and rolling of eyes...

Little gem of a place tucked away downstairs on 3rd. Nice bar in front and a surprisingly large performance space in back. Drinks are good, but very minimal beer selection all in bottles. Goose island is as close to craft as youll see. Service was good, though it was just us.We saw Frank Lacy on a Tuesday night with a $15 cover. Place was vacant. Lacy is a talented trombone player Ive no doubt, but had neither the energy nor the creativity to lead a 3-piece band this night, forcing a drum solo on every song. 1 drum solo A night is more than enough for me, generally. We left early, but Ill be back to sample some of the other musical offerings, I like the ambiance of the place. The website could sure use an update. No one has empty front pages that you have to click enter (except for porn).

Went to a show last week. Venue was unorganized and dirty. The seats were spread so far apart, couldnt even enjoy the music because of the awkward seating. The drinks took so long to be delivered and were filled with pulp, and disgusting, we didnt even drink them. With cocktails at $20 and up should at least be strained. Waste of time and money.

Great music, BUT ask about the cover charge! Neither the host nor the waitress told us about the cover charge, so when we got the bill an extra 60-70$ was tacked on with both the waitress and host blaming each other. We were also there maybe 40 min tops. Really a shame because it makes you inclined not to come back despite the good music.

The band was excellent but we left with a bad taste. When we arrived a group of 3 people, the host accompanied us and explained to us that there is a minimum of $30 per person. He didnt bother to point out that only the entrance was $30, and that there was another drink minimum, but made it sound like everyone had to order at least $30. When we confronted the manager and the host they denied. Of course, this is a method that should work on tourists, and its no less than stealing. If we had been told that only the entrance was $30 we would not have bothered to order so many things from the menu. When we asked to see the printed bill the waitress said she could not print it for us. Dishonest people, we left very disappointed with the experience. I dont care about the amount I paid as much as the feeling that I was cheated. Dont go there!
