Tartinery Caf - Bar Grand Central

Knocked my coffee into gifts for my kid while cleaning, completely destroyed them, and did not reimburse despite the fact that the tags were still on. Willing to update if “Louie” actually handles this, but Milagros has so far not been helpful.Update- can’t believe this, but Louis went so above and beyond and actually found a replacement teddy bear and had it shipped overnight from the original manufacturer (it was sold out in the store- he even went to check!!) so that my daughter can have it for Christmas. Anyone else would have AT MOST reimbursed the cost, which wouldn’t have fixed me not having it for Christmas. I am in absolute shock, and so so happy. Thank you guys so much!!!! I’m only leaving the original up to show just how above and beyond Louis went to fix this for me and my family. Thank you!!

We a great dinner at Tartiney today. It was just our second visit. The food is really good, beautifully prepared, our server, Shamin was very good and even being in Grand Central, the atmosphere is nice.I would recommend Tartinery to those wanting a bit and drink in the area.

Frank greeted us, was super kind and made a suggestion for the strawberry tarting since the warm apple tart was not available.The strawberry tartine was delicious and paired well with my cappuccino.

Food is a 10 as always! Service was meh, a bit rushed. Its Xmas Eve and pretty busy, so giving some grace here. Overall, I always enjoy my smoked salmon tartine here, one of the best!!!

I used to come here for takeout only before catching the Metro-North, but my recent visit marked my third pleasant dine-in experience at this location. I have tried the other location in Manhattan, and just like my previous visits, it was pleasant! We got chestnut and butternut squash soup on a cold day several days ago, and we loved it! We also ordered a juice and smoothie; the consistency was perfect. The servers and staff are kind and polite, making the experience even better.

Really great lunch combo! Iced Mocha also recommended. Healthy, fresh, fast. Wonderful location under the beautiful grand central station. Our server Frank was great!

Working in grand central has its perks, a main one being able to come to tartinery on a frequent basis. The servers, especially Chris & Amanda are amazing. They have a great selection of cafe style baked goods, and lunch bites. I never have to wait for a refill, because Chris is always there. You will find me here multiple times a week, and that definitely wouldnt happen without great service.

It was an awesome service by Frank, had a delicious margarita, he asked many time if we needed anything, water, more drinks, if everything was ok. Just a perfect night before Christmas Eve Day. Was waiting to catch the LIRR and it was all great at Tartinery.Thank you Frank for being so welcoming🙏🏽👏🏽👍🏽

3.5 stars, charitably rounding up.I ordered the lunch special and enjoyed the food, but was overall disappointed by the service.FOOD AND DRINK- I had the lunch special, with a soup and petite tartine for $15.50 + tax + tip- The butternut squash soup was comforting and pleasant but not particularly remarkable- The smashed avocado toast (with added egg) was tasty and filling- The cold brew was well-made; strong but not bitterSERVICE:- My food was originally brought to me without any napkin or utensils and I had to flag someone down for this.- I was hoping to get a latte + dessert, but by the time I was able to actually get anyones attention again, I had to get going so I just requested the bill.- Perhaps unsurprising given the huge crowds (I was there around 1pm on a Saturday), my interactions with the waitstaff were perfunctory and not especially warm.AMBIENCE:- Er, not much, but its in a not-enclosed area in a busy train station so I guess thats to be expected. What it is is very, very, very loud. Also not unexpected.

I witnessed, Lynn, my bartender handle a difficult situation with a customer and then gracefully, switch to a nice exchange with me. Its not easy interfacing with the public right now. I appreciated her composure and style. Good food. Great Service!

Was in line to get a seat and got cut by another customer when I was waiting 10 minutes already even though there was 3 hostess by the front, none bothered to ask me why I was standing there. Had to wait to get water even though I requested it, and the waiter gave others who came after me water first. The food took a long time to come out as well. It took nearly an hour for it to come out. At least they said Merry Christmas at the end but come on. Very rude

We had no idea where to eat in the lower level of Grand Central Terminal when we were walking around just kind of looking lost. Jean Carlos, Who is a server at Tartinery saw us and started talking us about all the happy hour drinks they had and prices of things so we decided let’s just go in and try it. We were very happy with his service. He when we told him that we had a train to catch he took our order, put it in quickly and got our food to us quickly.p But unfortunately, we had to run to get on a train. Got the boxes put the food in put the drinks in cups and off we went. That is a server who enjoys what he does, likes to help people and is an asset to Tartinery.I got the Croque Madame which was open face. Be prepared for lots of hot gruyere cheese melted on top. Very very good! This is a chain across Manhattan, I noticed.

I love this place. The food is always fresh! I have had the chicken salad, croissants, soup, and a few other items and almost always a nice white wine or aperol spritz. Lin my food server is excellent at her job! She always makes me feel welcomed, and is quick to suggest something that she thinks I would like! It is so nice to see her bright smile every time I stop by the Tartinery!

Our favorite breakfast from our NYC trip! It’s beautiful setting, the avocado toast add egg and side of bacon. Latte and fresh juices were amazing

The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive, our server Frank was so professional.I ordered a couple of Tartines, and it were delicious—fresh and well-prepared. The portion size was just right.Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to others. I look forward to coming back!

Brian was very attentive and provided excellent service. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich but I wish the menu had more breakfast options. The orange juice was very pricey, it cost almost as much as my sandwich with bacon.

I am a long time guest of this specific residence at Grand Central Terminal. Years by now, not only does the drink I buy the cucumber thyme fizz bring me bright color and vibration. I come for the people. Linn and Amanda today helped me immensely. I got my usual and was sitting at the bar as I always do and a gentleman proved to be unsavory, and started to push his welcome they kept an eye out for me and helped me immensely. Not only do I live the pastries and food, but I come back for them specifically I am a very small female and alone. They protected me and still provided excellent and pleasant service.Thank you very very much they both deserve a medalOn a different visit to this amazing venueLynn and Rommel again helped me immensely, I had recently got mugged and was pretty bruised up. Rommel and Lynn immediately asked if I needed assistance and gave me a bag of ice for my injuries.I can not speak highly enough of this fast and excellent service of everyone at this Tartinary. Safe warming and that’s just the service the food and beverages are bright and aromatic and Always have me wishing for a great adventure.Of all the places at Grand Central Terminal I will always recommend this place first

Great little place in the middle of Grand Central. Frank my server was fantastic as was the lovely Rose that I managed to taste before my train departure.

We came here passing by on a holiday to NYC! And we came back! The food is lovely and not pricey for the quality! The fresh juices are absolutely incredible! And the staff are lovely, especially Linn on the bar who served us twice! Would recommend anyone to go here on their NYC trip!

If I could rate them negatively I most definitely would. I happened to try their Smashed avocado toast, and I have regretted it since. I was on vacation in NYC and went here excitedly for breakfast and fell ill terribly. I had the worst stomach upset of my life, had to cancel many of my paid activities, skip on doing things I was looking forward to and spend an entire day in the washroom cause that’s how messed up my stomach was. I will never step foot here again, not only was the food troublesome but the staff also had a very “French” attitude towards their customers.

I stopped by for a some evening drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cocktails and excellent customer service. I asked Frank for cocktail recommendations they were delicious! Drinks were the Strawberry vodka cocktail and the Margarita mezcal cocktail.

Good food in a good place, quick service, very friendly staff and super quick serving. I have tried both the Avo toast and the apple tart with the matcha latte

Rommel is the best bartender I’ve ever had. Is kind and engaging. He also made me a drink I’ve never tried before. It was fabulous. 10/10 will recommend this café-Bar. He looked up recipes on his phone to make some incredible cocktails, I’m definitely coming back here again with my wife.

Frank was an excellent waiter, he speaks 2 languages, he served us in Spanish, he explained the dishes and drinks to us, and we are happy to have found him.

Food pretty good but atmosphere was mid because its under the train station which is pretty noisy with many people walkinh

Have come here several times on our 20-day vacation. Staff is warm, friendly, attentive to detail and provide excellent service. Frank has been our server and also bartender. He’s careful to be sure we understand details of our order, and is prompt to respond. He has helped made our visit to nyc special.

A good lunch place at Grand Central food court (lower level under the main hall), the menu and the look reminded me of Pain Quotidien.

Bryan at the Grand Central Station location took care of us multiple days in a row. Made some great suggestions with fresh juices and even chocolate chip cookies. Also anticipated our needs by asking us if we needed any directions. Can’t say enough wonderful things about the food and Bryan.

The place is ok, the croissant I got was fine, not very crispy or flaky, but its was buttery as hell for sure. Its good for a quick snack.The coffee was fine, nothing amazing, just seems like a convenient location in the station. Its a bit expensive, but everything else is as well in Grand Central.

Conveniently located. One of the few places you could seat at the Grand Central Station’s dining courtyard. Delicious French pastry including the egg croissant! Very good service despite it’d been the end of the day journey.

Its not a bad place to rest at grand central station. It is kinda 3zpensive for pastry and they a bit on stale side. Of you order grab and go you can sit on their dining area marked grab and go. They do have other pastry shop but they all kinda the same and without seating area.

Dined here several times during a long weekend trip. Easy location when staying at the Hyatt. Tartinery was perfect for high-quality smaller plates. I had the tuna one day and smashed avocado with an egg for breakfast. They have cocktails but I had an excellent latte. I highly recommend this location for a single woman traveler.

Low key this avocado toast was amazing— get the EGG on it— hit just right. My friend got the hummus and avocado tartine and she says it was delicious. Hummus and sprouts on point… as for drinks— I paired my toast with the Delicious Trio juice- apple, pineapple and orange.Staff was awesome and it was nice eating at Grand Central Station after a whole year in quarantine.Kudos Tartinery… Kudos.

Are you in a hurry? Then dont eat here!Tried to order food quickly at check out but was told we had to order with table service if we wanted to sit down. So we sat down and then the server proceeded to take 15 minutes to come take our order then another 10 to bring avocado toast.It was lovely but we missed our train. Service is useless in general.

Baked goods overpriced. Showed up with a 5-year-old and a 7-year old fresh off a train, carrying luggage. Bought overpriced croissants for one kid. They refused to allow us to sit in their seating area, despite having just patronized their establishment and despite their knowing the food hall has no other seats, because we also had food from another establishment (in the same food hall!).

I would have talked to a supervisor but I had to catch my train. I ordered a lunch combo for takeout before boarding my train. I got the ham & swiss with the butternut squash soup. The ham & swiss is basically one slice of bread topped with ham, Swiss cheese, greens, and apples. The item sounded delicious on the menu but the presentation and flavor was off. The soup was very hot and simple, not a lot of flavor going on. I also got a can ginger ale and my bill came out to around $20. I don’t think this lunch combo is priced right but inflation is real. Overall, the staff was nice and the kitchen looked clean. The food is clean and bland. If that’s what you like then this is the place for you. If you’re looking for something tasty, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Popped in for a quick drink on our first full day in New York. We had the pleasure of meeting Frank our waiter.His knowledge and good humor made it an experience that well not forget.

I got their raisin Danish and iced Americano. Both were mediocre. The raisin Danish had a lot of raisins but was rather flavorless and doughy. The iced Americano was very diluted.Update - I went during their happy hour and their seasonal apple spritz was good as well as their charcuterie cheese board.

I ordered an almond croissant and a latte (oat milk was extra) Great for a quick stop, but its just a bit pricey for what you get.

Came here for brunch with a few friends. Vaccine cards and IDs are required to sit in the seating area. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. I got the smoked salmon tartine and tried a Tokyo Garden and Hypnotize to drink and everything was fantastic. We got the strawberry tartine for dessert. Our waiter recommended we substitute dulce de leche for nutella on the strawberry tartine, and it tasted great!

Jean Carlos was very fast to get our drinks out to us which we appreciated since we needed to catch a train.

We had a fantastic time at Tartinery Café! The ambiance was chic and cozy, and the food was delicious, especially the smoked salmon! Our server, Jean Carlos, made our visit extra special with his humor and attentive service. Highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience.

We stopped for food and drink prior to catching our train back to Connecticut. We weren’t rushed, neither was our server Jean Carlos who was going above with his translator app with other customers. 👍🏻

Took my mother in law here for a nice quick lunch and the experience of eating in NYC Grand Central Station, her first time in NYC.We had the chicken tartine with Pinot Grigio, what a lovely experience with wonderful light food. Jean Carlos was a top notch server :)

Nice place for relaxing at the grand central. It can be quite busy at times. But great service.

Coffee was cold, unfriendly stuff didn’t wanna help I asked something with no pork they gave me a jelly sandwich and the bread was so hard I had to throw it away. There went 12$ out of the window.i want my money back! But they did good job with the pictures though

This place is simply not worth it the rating it has now.The food is very average. They brought us fresh made juice which was not.The sandwiches taste are not that special with quite average quality ingredients.Not really worth coming.

A cozy place with good food, but we had a bad experience. Since we only ordered coffee, croissants, and yogurt from the only available spot—the bar counter—one of the staff members tried to make us leave. There were no other tables available for two people, and no one was waiting at the bar for a seat. This ruined the entire experience for us. Thank you to the other staff member who ultimately didn’t let them make us leave.

The service here is not as good as the one on Park Ave or other locations but the food/menu is the same. And I consider it fantastic, super tasty and highly recommend this restaurant!
