City Coffee Bar by far was one of the best experiences I had in a long time. I made it to a their Saturday brunch and ordered the steak and eggs. The food is excellent and the portion size is generous. I cannot emphasize enough how good the food is! I highly recommend!The coffee is sourced from Cafe Vita and it tastes amazing. The three factors of a great cup of coffee is the coffee quality, the equipment used to brew it and the barista. City Coffee Bar has all three. If you are in the area ask for Johnny and Esmerlin. Their customer service is outstanding. 5 out of 5 stars. I strongly recommend!

Fantastic food! We got breakfast platters, and everything was great. Really liked the bread, well cooked eggs, crispy potatoes, etc. Good espresso based drinks. Also good for working from: outlets and wifi. Friendly staff and good service.

In love this establishment. So far i have came here 3x and havent been disappointed. They serve breakfast Lunch and dinner plus they have a happy hour! Music and ambience is great. In the morning its calm and relaxing and as the day passes it becomes more upbeat. The avocado toast was well seasoned and garnished and my gem Cesar salad was so refreshing and tasteful. Costumer service was great everyone was attentive and friendly. You would definitely find me here again and again. My neighbor definitely needed a place like this. Can’t wait to go back and try more things on the menu!

I dont even like cinnamon rolls.. but I bought it just because I was hungry this morning.. and for my surprise it was delicious! The best I ever have and very good iced almond latte as well.. even though it was super busy I was able to order quickly... thank you for that guys!

Absolutely love this place and am SO happy to get a new UWS spot that has enough space to accommodate a lot of people! Most of our (great) cafes up here feel smaller. The coffee is excellent and they also serve breakfast and pastries. The employees are lovely, happy vibe. I’m here every morning now and I highly recommend it. Love this place. The staff here is awesome. I work remotely and come here about half the week to stay motivated. I’ve sat for hours on end with my water refilled, access to outlets, and never shoved in a tiny corner because they have an unusually spacious layout for a NYC cafe. Prices are more than reasonable and this spot is getting popular with locals since they don’t have a crummy laptop policy like many shops that kick you out for space 30 minutes after you’ve spent money for a quiet place to work. Actually, providing a place to work or study seems part of their business model as wifi is available and laptop friendly is all over their menu. I’ve even stayed late working while they switch over to a cocktail bar and they were welcoming. My favorites are the crepes and their oat cappuccino. Thanks!!!

Popped in here to escape the snow and thoroughly enjoyed the vibe. Started with a yummy oat milk cappuccino but ended up staying for awhile and getting their breakfast burrito. I’m from LA so I know from good breakfast burritos. This one held its own! Very good homemade chorizo and a nice salsa verde on the side. Gluten free, which I am not, but it was pretty close to as good as the gluten version. The well-dressed side salad was a nice complement.Very comfortable place. Steady flow of customers but enough room to allow everyone to spread out and stay awhile. Gorgeous chandelier lights throughout and exposed brick makes for a nice environment. Many folks reading, which is nice to see. Service was lovely and accommodating.Pop music was incongruous to the vibe but occasionally fun to rock out to.Recommended if you’re in the area and want a nice spot to chill with a good cup of coffee.

My shakshuka was so delicious, the bread was perfectly buttered and crunchy but still light and flaky. I was genuinely impressed the barista could do a skim latte with latte art (as usually thats harder with skim milk). In the morning the space was quiet and relaxing and I was able to get some work done before heading out the door. Im a little ashamed its taken me so long to stop by - and now I will definitely go regularly!

Love coming here! Been twice after 6pm with my laptop to do work since the tables are spacious and there is free + fast wifi. Employees are really friendly, plenty of seating, not packed and they play great music. Came here for coffee and saw they had a gluten free breakfast burrito and I really thought it was too good to be true. As someone with celiac disease, I usually resign myself to having very limited breakfast options but this burrito blew my mind! It was so delicious and somehow the GF tortilla was normal burrito size yet didn’t fall apart. It’s so rare to find gluten free burritos in general, let alone one as good and reasonably priced as this one. Thank you City Coffee Bar for providing options for celiacs, I’ll definitely be back for my next burrito craving! Also - my partner got the Punta Cana and said it was incredible.

My wife and I got a couple drinks here. The b-smash and the berry something. The b smash was absolutely disgusting..tasted like ginger schnapps with no sugar..for close to $20 dollars a drink ! I would atleast expect it to taste like a good cocktail..definitely can make better at home ! Won’t be coming back

All the reviews are true —sure enough the two barista-owners are there to welcome you and they’re very personable. What wasn’t clear from the photos is how nice of a space this café is: with beautiful tall ceilings, bare brick walls and broad comfortable booths…it feels spacious and comfortable.Also thought it was worth sharing this sick pastry deal they have going on right now (February 2024).

THIS BAR BLAST ITS MUSIC UNTIL THREE OR 4 AM!I see I am not the only one complaining about the noise in the area! WE HAVE CALLED AND MADE A COMPLAINT NUMEROUS TIMES ON THE 311 LINE TO NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT. Its really a problem. We live in the building above them and are moving out. The police have done nothing about this problem. When I called tonight to ask them, if they could turn down the volume, they turned it up!

I found this shop by chance and let me just say that I’m so glad I did. This is my new go to for lunch. The waitress Jennifer was great!!!!!! I’ve honestly never had someone so on point with their service. Not to mention the food! My steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were literally amazing. Oh and the coffee?! To die for! Please do yourself a favor and visit, you will not regret it.

I’ve been in New York City for the entire month of March and have been coming to this coffee shop almost every single day to get some work done. After spending roughly 80-100 hours in this place over the past few weeks, I can confidently say that this place is the real deal. These guys have cultivated a shockingly comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, especially considering the relative chaos of the streets right outside the door. Everything seems to be just right in this place, from the classy chandeliers to the sturdy and clean tables. There is so much space and room to breathe that you can enjoy a coffee and conversation without having to worry about the folks around you.But the benefits of being in here extend far beyond the delightful atmosphere. The lattes I drink daily are simply the best I’ve ever had. I have no idea what makes them special, but they seem to have the perfect proportion of whatever ingredients they contain, be it espresso, milk or matcha. Despite its simplicity, the food here is also out of this world. I get one meal here every day and each one is made with splendid care and attention. The salads are always fresh and crisp, and not a single thing is ever overcooked or burnt. Each dish invariably has the perfect amount of salt and seasonings to make it pop.From the spotless bathroom to the impeccable service, everything about this place has exceeded my expectations. It is why I continue to come back and why you should give this place a try.

I game here with my friends a few days ago and had the most amazing mocha, chopped salad with chicken and hibiscus tea. The ambience can’t be beat. It’s spacious, laptop friendly, comfy chairs for long work hours and they’re very nice. I’m a born and raised New Yorker and I’m pretty fussy with coffee shops. There’s lots that make terrible coffee and food but charge for the location. But this spot is what a cozy, about the business coffee shop feels like in NY! This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The brothers who own it are so nice and accommodating. The atmosphere has been very chill, so it a great place to bring your computer and get some work done. I have had a couple of the dishes, and they were really good. I highly recommend!

Walked all over town. Was in the mood for a cold drink. Had ginger tumeric iced tea and had them add simple syrup. It was so good!! Also had the frittata which was beautifully presented and tasted awesome with some fresh cracked pepper on it. Very chill spot with a nice vibe for studying, working or just hanging out. This place is off to an AMAZING start. The food is simply delicious, I highly recommend the avocado toast and the French toast. Great service and atmosphere as well. City Coffee has the potential to become an NYC gem, with its Central Perk vibes. I really can’t wait to see the bar once it’s ready.

We dropped in this morning (July 4th) on a whim after taking a long walk through Central Park and wanting to grab a nice breakfast with our dogs. We grabbed a seat outside not expecting much, but boy were we wrong. This place is an absolute hidden gem- outstanding food and, unbeknownst to us at first, we were being served by one of the owners, who was so unbelievably kind and attentive to us and our two dogs. We had the eggs benedict which was prepared perfectly, and the Swedish pancakes which came with tons of fresh fruit, and two iced lattes. Already looking forward to returning again soon!

Avocado toast is utter perfection. Perfectly seasoned. Beautiful colors in the side salad. Poached eggs are spot on. Vibe is chill and friendly.

They use Cafe Vita coffee for all brews. Delicious! Cold brew is great. Almond and oat milks available. Seating and Wi-Fi.

Came here for an afternoon coffee. The service was wonderful and the ambiance is perfect for a daytime coffee spot. Definitely a gem in the upper west. We ordered some of the food items and the quality tasted more like a good brunch spot when compared to your typical coffee shop in the upper west. Would highly recommend.

I was at this terrible coffee shop yesterday. The staff lives in a room behind the wall. You can see the outdated design and low-quality coffee beans. If you dont like the idea of people living in the coffee shop and making your coffee, this place isn’t for you. You’ll feel embarrassed going to such a place.

Only been there twice so far but my wife and I like it there as we really needed a decent cafe in our neighborhood. We had breakfast there today , I had the City Coffee breakfast plate with the fingerling potatoes that were a nice change from the usual spuds ! My wife , who was in the restaurant business , had the French toast ; she complimented the presentation of the dish and would order same again.We both liked the coffee , I had the decaf oat latte ,my wife had a cup of Joe with cream.Serlin , the host, is a very nice young man who is attentive without being intrusive .

The employees live in the back room of the cafe they might not have all the necessary documents. The food is cold. It’s something like a café and a place for undocumented workers who prepare food where they live. Im afraid of getting food poisoning, so I dont go there.I was at this cafe for breakfast with a friend on May 13.

This place is awesome! It has a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating and very friendly staff. We brought our dog inside and sat down for coffee and brunch. We will definitely be back! Great food, drinks, and vibe. Highly recommend!

Amazing coffee!! Their syrups are the absolute best. I recently got their iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was phenomenal!The indoor environment/aesthetic is pretty dark and more on the moody side. If you prefer your coffee shops to be dark and cozy then this is the spot for you!

Stopped in at this place looking for a spot with wifi to work for a little bit. It was really nice! Super nice staff and a nice ambiance. I had no idea it had opened so recently but it was really nice seeing folks from the neighborhood come check it out and congratulate the owners. And, good wifi and accessible power outlets!

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful. Service was great. I got the brunch special for $19.95 , one orange juice for $5.00 and a side of bacon for $7.00. My total with tax and tip included was $39.79. Food was a bit pricey.

The coffee is good but food is overpriced. Was happy when they opened because the neighborhood really needed a coffee shop. But now it apparently also serves as a night club - blasting music with a heavy bass until 3:30 in the morning (says they close at 3 on website.) as I write this review now I can hear them partying nearly a full block away! And it’s keeping me awake. Thanks city coffee bar!UPDATE: Instead of addressing the problem, they changed the time on google to be opened until 4am. Heard the bass promptly at 10PM... only 6 more hours to go :)))

My first time here was today, what caught my attraction was the layout of City Coffee Bar Sign outside, It gave me chill vibes.The staff are also down to earth, and mocha coffee taste really good!!✔️👍💯

Literally the best coffee spot that I have visited in recent memory. Everything from the ambiance to the awesome staff to the aroma that you cant get away from when you first walk in.... Just amazing!!!I highly recommend this place to any and everyone. Cant wait to visit again!!!

The noise has been insane the last couple of weeks. This establishment doubles up as a **night club** at night, at first it seemed like a chill addition to the neighborhood but the sound is insane. Every time they open the door to the place at night the sound escapes and you can hear blaring Dominican music and DJ all through the night until 4am. My neighbors have been placing 311 complaints and none of us are getting any rest during the weekends because as soon as this place closes at night, you hear their costumers (a regular group) also making noise at night.This is insane and its getting out of hand. I can hear everything and I live a block down from them.

Its great to find a coffee shop with a good atmosphere where you can enjoy your coffee in a mug rather than a plastic cup. The waitress was lovely and professional, a welcome change from the rudeness sometimes encountered in New York. We ordered a latte and a hot chocolate, both very yummy 😋

Everything about this place rocks. i’ve only had takeaway coffees, which have been excellent, but there’s always loads of space and has a really cozy neighborhood diner vibe without the racket. genuinely so glad this spot is in the neighborhood!

Really good lattes!

Just stopped in this place on my walk home, not even realizing it was new. Delicious latte and even more importantly such great service. Not in an overly “customer service-y” way, just seemed like genuinely nice people. Absolutely best of luck to them!

The place was nice. We were around the neighborhood so we decided to stop by for brunch. We ordered the Eggs Royale and Nutella Toast. We waited 30 min for our food to come out, I had to go up to the counter to ask where my food was. Turns out it was already made in the back waiting to be served. Our server was chatting with her coworkers instead of serving us. So as expected our food came out cold. The eggs and hasbrowns had NO flavor. The Nutella waffles had NO Nutella on them at all. Very disappointing especially since it was $20 per item. BAD SERVICE BAD FOOD DO NOT GO! Save your money, we ended up going to the Thai spot across the street!!!

I came here to share with my family. I ordered the chicken sandwich, its my favorite. Although everything on the menu is delicious. But there is something special about the sandwich. That spiciness, the freshness of the chicken that melts in your mouth, the bread, the salad on the side with a delicious dressing. I recommend this place 100%. The service is exceptional. Esmerlin has excellent service as does her colleague and barista Jhonny. It is now my favorite place!
