Beautiful atmosphere with indoor and outdoor service and delicious food! The pasta was unreal and everything tasted so authentic! The service was excellent! I highly recommend Via Quadronno! Can’t wait to go back already!!
Like stepping into the best European restaurant, just a short walk from Central Park. We were sat quickly downstairs in a cozy dining room. It was raining and we had no reservation. I was delighted by our find. Then we had to wait for service, and wait. Our server was clearly preoccupied by something on his phone. During a lunch rush, probably not the best tactic. Other wait staff however pitched in and helped to move things along. The food saved the day.The salad was simple but perfect. My wife got wine. I got a beer. The kid got ice cream. Our mood brightened even as the rain fell harder outside. I left a lower tip than usual, less than 10 percent, because the wait times service was really noticeable. But made sure to thank the cooks and hostess on the way out for making it all worth it.
Everything was delicious—I’ll definitely be coming back. The coffee was just perfect. Thank you for the service!
Disappointing. The Bresaola panini was incredibly dry and a very small portion. Think just dry meat on toasted bread.I was looking forward to the lasagna as this place had authentic feel. Unfortunately the lasagna was burned and had a very strange / old taste, and despite the picture is an extremely small / shallow portion for $30.Aldo, be aware that this place automatically charges an 18% service charge.
This is one of those very quaint, old restaurants in the the Upper East side of NYC.We ate prosciutto on toasted baguette, had a shot of Espresso, and an apricot cookie. The service was friendly. The sandwiches came out fast and were delicious.
Called for a reservation for 7:45PM and arrived 20 minutes early with no issue! They let us sit wherever we wanted and were attentive as soon as we sat.The food was good, nothing crazy. Big portions and not too greasy. The seasoning itself was different than most Italian restaurants, it tasted like their version of Italian food. The tap water they give tastes awful, I overheard another person complain about their water tasting weird! The gelato and the pecan tart for dessert were delicious, a nice topper for a big pasta meal.Overall cant complain about my experience, atmosphere outside was calm and warm for a Sunday night in the city. Although, it was kinda pricy $$$ considering it wasnt authentic Italian tasting in my opinion, but again, it was still delicious.
An interesting Italian option in the UES, where you can enjoy a tasty Vitel Tone, a fresh Burratta Caprese Salad and a wonderful Chicken Milanese alla Romana. For dessert, the classic Tiramisu. Service aims to please in a warm ambiance.
Went here with my friend after the MET. We were both super hungry and wanted pasta. We decided to go here since it was close. We both ordered the same thing, the menu had no pictures so we had no clue on what we were ordering. When our food arrived it was a cold dry salad. No dressing just dry salad and two slices of cold cheese. And it was $30. I asked the waiter politely can we change our order since we didn’t eat any of it and wasn’t satisfied with what they made us. He told us “no because it’s already made”. He could’ve just took the dry salad back. It wasn’t actual food that they cooked they just slapped it on in 5 minutes. I could understand if they actually took their time and made the food but they didn’t. So I don’t understand why he couldn’t take it back and give us something we actually wanted. So I was highly upset and didn’t eat the dry salad at all. I ended up paying $30 for food I didn’t want. Highly upsetting and unreasonable. Don’t go here!
We’ve had the best experience ever. Best place on earth. The food was amazing and the drinks are really delicious! The owner is so amazing and sweet, was very gentle and patient and kind! The waiters are great and very very nice and polite! The music and the vibe is so amazing! Thanks for the great brunch ever!!!
Ok food, uncomfortable chairs, bathroom very dirty. Price not worth it
I came here with family and my niece loved the Spaghetti Bolognese so much. My coffee was pretty good and the service and ambiance was very nice here. All the other food looked nice that family members ordered.
Food: I got the Orecchiette while others in my party got the Lasagna Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara and Spaghetti Bolognese. The spaghetti lacked any particular flavor and did not taste fresh, nor did it seem al dente at all and was quite soft. Wouldnt recommend any of those particular pasta though maybe other items on the menu are better; however, the pasta was very pricey and you might find better for cheaper elsewhere. The drinks on the other hand were pretty good, like the Chinotto and the Aranciata.Service: Despite being there early my party was still able to place orders for pasta, and drinks came fairly quickly as well. However, there was some confusion because several items on the lunch menu were not available and there was also no indicator when dinner might start and what was available between lunch and dinner, 3:00pm to 5:00pm.Atmosphere: Not much to say since we ate in the covered space outside the restaurant, though it was quite cold out and the space was not insulated at all so we had to stay zipped up most of the time; it was better than the outside seats in the windy cold but probably much better to sit inside the restaurant proper.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere and service were top notch! We weren’t able to sit inside without waiting a while so we ended up sitting in their outdoor area. I had worried it would effect our service, but it didn’t at all. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in New York!
Disappointed. Chinese, not Italian. Medium rare filet mignion came well done, Carpaccio meat was very tender but was covered in Mayo. One very average glass of Brunello costs $25 before service (automatically added) and tax.. The atmosphere was about only thing going for it on a pleasant mid September evening but definitely not worth the $..
Really cute, rustic corner cafe styled restaurant with a great menu. Went with their mixed vegetables soup, Cervino sandwich and a delicious cappuccino. I would love to return for some lasagna and tiramisu!
Amazing sandwich shop on the upper easy side. perfect for a mid day treat or afternoon coffee. the vegetable soup is absolutely delicious.
Feels like you’re in Italy inside but the food is really sub par and overpriced.
Great salad and mains, and the tiramisu was perfect. But the best part was the wannabe actress arguing with a very patient friend about a bad script. Thank you for the drama, Anna!
I have been here twice now with a group of friends. I think it’s a very welcoming place and the front set up is intriguing and makes you want to go in. It has a very cultured feel where you just want to look around see all of the detail hey put into the atmosphere. You have to get the paninis here. That’s their best food. You won’t leave here stuffed as the panini is more about the taste, texture, and presentation rather than tons of food. They have great expressos as wellThe Gelatos and cookies are pretty good here too!I judge restaurants a lot by their bathrooms and this one is probably one of the cleanest and homey!
Delicious food, with a comfortable Italian atmosphere. The lasagna was very good, and the affogato was delicious and large enough for sharing.
Very good food in a European atmosphere. However, it’s a bit overpriced for what it’s worth. Bruschetta and arugula salad were done right but the rigatoni was a bit underwhelming. Also, the “specials” aren’t really special - just ordinary pasta dishes. Wouldn’t come here out of your way but decent spot if you’re in the neighborhood.
Always welcoming. Delish food at reasonable prices for the neighborhood. Never left this place without a smile on ones face!!
Very small place. The food was a little tasteless and the waiter took 12$ as gratuity WITH NO PERMISSION. If you have the opportunity to eat here, miss it.
Love this place, passing many others right after The met. Reasonable price, pleasant hosts.
Wow— they make a proper latte! I’m impressed! I needed place to enjoy a coffee break between appointments and they were kind enough to seat me (despite a busy dinner crowd). Thoroughly enjoyed and will plan to come back for a proper dinner or lunch.
I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years. Great food and always pleasant service!
I had the baked eggs (for those who are unsure, this is basically an omelette in a dish!) Very tasty, good sized portion, I couldn’t finish it. Our order was misunderstood because we had order two of the same so they thought we were sharing so mine came out after my husband had finished eating his.Well located, not far from Central ParkFriendly environment with nice staff.Wonky table.Clean and tidy.Best hot chocolate so far I’ve had in New York!
Via Quadronno, a one of a kind restaurant located on a street in the heart of manhattan. The atmosphere combined with the food this place has to offer makes it a wonderful experience. The service here is great and they are always very kinda and hard working people. Though the food may be a bit pricey for some ,but I personally would say it was worth every penny. I may be a bit bias due to my love of Italian food; but this restaurant is worth a try if your looking for a taste of new york.
Great location, fast service but the salad quality was only okay. For 20+ you can expect more than 4 slices of tomato and a low quality olive oil. Wine by the glass seems expensive but it’s filled to the brim!
Delightful spot that sat a hungry young couple on a random fall weekend afternoon. Lunch was great and at a good price.
Way too small placeThere are not enough waitresses so all of them are always rushing and don’t get the order complete.I asked a panini with prosciutto and cheese. Not bad. Not good.
The best Cappuccino and Tiramisu I’ve had in my entire life—no exaggeration. A little on the pricier side but we’ll worth it. Definitely coming back here again!
Been coming to this place for several years now every time I visit NY, so of course I recommend visiting
Nice place the best carbonara in the area.. 👍👍
Delicious, renowned paninis! You can more than likely expect a winding line, but, if you go on a rainy day or on a weekday you can get seated quickly! Try the prosciutto mozzarella tomato and olive paste panino!
Charming old time cafe with a neighborhood feel. Staff and patrons clearly knew each other for a long time. Good coffee and homemade soup. Accommodating with dietary restrictions and has vegetarian options.
This place is run by Chinese - I ordered a Niçoise salad panini expecting a light fare Italian styleI basically received the equivalent of a NY deli tuna sandwich - service and atmosphere was perfect but what a shock to have an established Italian hotspot hijacked like thisSort Quadranno not coming back
We shared a mortadella sandwich for a light lunch at this cozy cafe. Staff was very friendly and professional. A welcome and unstuffy retreat on the UES.
Im not from NY. Im visiting from California... This small eatery is really cute ... nice cashier and owner lady. Got chocolate ice cream on a sugar cone and a chocolate croissant. Very tasty. Went back in and got several cookies for 75 cents each.Good stuff.
Good coffee and an interesting idea of the menu, but mediocre execution. When you order panini it comes with nothing, not even a single chip. I understand that they are trying to mimic Italy, but it doesnt even look like an Italian panini. Dont get me wrong the panini is ok, but you are eating a very dry sandwich without anything else.
A little taste of Europe at this cozy upper East side destination. Gorgeous coffees, delicious tiramisu, and satisfying sandwiches.
Went here after MET.Pasta ($30) and paninis ($17) quite overpriced and only okay. Tiramisu was quite good but little expensive ($14). Asian owned instead of traditional Italian. Service was good but very casual dining.
An amazing Italian spot in the heart of New York. Great service, amazing location, great paninis. The quantity of the wine at glass was super, the espresso as it should be: the real thing not like the funky 3rd wave cafe where it’s disgusting! I love this place
Nice enough atmosphere at night. Just about everything is MICROWAVED. You can tell when theres mountains of steam coming from pasta thats hotter than the sun. Oh yeah, the server was rude and mixed up our drinks. Then came back to make sure our dinner order was right, only to bring out the wrong order anyway! Not just a pass, this place is awful.
Great place to have great and also vegetarian food !
Great food and service. Amazing panini selection and the best tiramisu in Manhattan!
Really delicious food ! The spinach lasagna was the best.
This was an abomination to Italian food. We literally had italian tourists next to us laughing at us. This is such a disgrace to people that come here thinking they will receive Italian cuisine but then receive some type of revolting painini in front of them. DONT COME HERE!
Great spot for a lunch stop. Their food seems to be spot on. Service is great. I would give them a 4.5 if I could.
Love this place. The food, service, the gelato! In one Word, A Gem.
I just got my cappuccino. I watch the people in upper Eastside. It’s very good time for me but at the same time it’s pricy when you consider with other places.
Small, cozy space with delicious food. The paninis looked amazing but I just had the vegetable puree soup which was so delicious and filling. It came with garlic bread crusts which I thought was really great - they practically melted into the soup. No reservations so show up early; they were absolutely packed for lunch on a Saturday, but they were able to accommodate our party of six within 15 minutes.
Wonderful employees, amazing food. Staff was knowledgeable, personal, and a pleasure to be around. Dinner was delicious and so were the desserts. The manager on duty even brought us some cookies before we left! Highly recommended
Delicious Italian sandwiches with fresh ingredients are served here; this was expected as in all Italian bistros. However, the signature dessert makes the difference. Tiramisu di San Donna is to die for!
I ate the carbonara, very mediocre, and too pricey relative to what you get.
Excellent coffee and pastry great Xmas vibes!!
This is my absolute go to spot when I’m having a day at Central Park or in Upper East Side. The owners are the absolute best with their warm hospitality with attention to detail, service, and incredibly accommodating . The rustic Italian food is delicious - the truffle tartine is my go-to and I love the spaghetti carbonara. The tiramisu is hands-down, the best I’ve had in the city. Please just don’t tell my Nonna!
Been here twice and both times the food and service were top notch. I especially enjoyed the black truffle bread, tomato burrata, spinach lasagna, and best off all, the tiramisu. The vibe is perfect for any sorts of celebration. This place definitely reminds me of my trip to Italy, it’s autentico! All of their ingredients are imported from Italy. Highly recommended!
Really good food, service and atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves. Will recommend.
Love this place. Delicious sandwiches and salads.
A pandemic after-work meal. Delicious Italian food, eaten in an outdoor hut. Very good service, too. I’ll be back.
The most welcoming place on this side of Manhattan. Give a try to spinach lasagne and deconstructed tiramisu!
In all honesty I liked the exterior, the place was pretty inside, and they have lots of amazing offerings! The service is what made me leave 2 stars. The host greeted us while she was scrolling through her instagram - might have been the owner? Couldnt tell but had the impression. Blonde hair and very happy vibes. Definitely not rude but somewhat all over the place. We sat at a table, waited for like, 15 minutes? Never were talked to or received water or anything. Just the paper menus and that was all. We kept looking around just to catch eyes with someone who could be a server, but no luck. They only have like 15-20 tables so there arent a lot of people to keep track of, but it seemed like an issue with management guiding staff.I ended up telling my boyfriend I wanted to leave, as the food looked pretty average but there was not good service - not worth the price for the experience. I got up, went to the counter to order a quick pastry and leave. The ladies at the counter were pretty nice, but more focused on talking to each other than the customers. Just felt like the restaurant staff were all on their phones, but there was one guy who was running around non stop - he looked like the main server. Poor guy was the only one really doing the work. Definitely can tell hes the heart of the operation.Pastry - 8/10Food offerings - 8/10Service - 1/10 (excluding the one very nice guy, he was awesome. Black hair, somewhat tall, with an earring)If you like to be left alone and are fine with waiting, this place would be nice! Otherwise, Id say they need to step up their service.
Amazing food, atmosphere and services! Will definitely come visit again!
A convenient and lovely spot just steps from the park! You can get a scoop of ice cream, pastry or coffee to-go or if there is room, enjoy seating and the atmosphere inside or outside. I cannot speak for the paninis or food. Service is attentive and friendly, enjoy!
Great food, friendly staff, and a local favorite! Highly recommend!
Little pricey and smaller portion but the food was good.
Both the waitstaff and the food are amazing! Very fast service and Natalie was so sweet and helpful. And their tiramisu is the BEST I’ve ever had
The price is too high for the quality. The taste of the food is average. We had dinner inside and had many mosquitoes around us the whole time, they even landed on my wine!
A cozy Italian Eatery, bistro like setting given the indoor dining is closed. So it feels less like a full service restaurant even though the menu does reflect it could be. I came for a quick bite to go, figured Id sit in Central Park to enjoy some scenery and picnic style food. It is steps from Central Park! So points for location. However the items I ordered fell flat on expectations and underwhelmed. This visit, ordered the pate, prosciutto and brie sandwich and the asparagus salad. The brie itself was excellent but the prosciutto was too fatty and the sandwich as a whole was more bread then filling. Meant to be simple and savory but it lacked in flavor and was not packed well. It was wrapped hoagie style with aluminum foil. Could have gotten the same at a deli. The pate was worse - served on two pieces of bread. It seemed to be toasted but after being wrapped in the tin foil, it was soggy and sad. Bread was completely weighed down by the pate. Pate tasted fine. Again, the to go packaging hurt the dish! So disappointing. The asparagus salad was good, asparagus cooked Al dente. But for the presentation, it was served with two hard boiled eggs, sliced. And some tomato wedges. The salad would be better served as a side dish because as a salad, it seemed to be missing ingredients or presentation. Dressing was great. The dishes all probably fare better if eaten on site. Oh well ...
I dont know much about meat shops but I sure know great service, and the service here was impeccable.Frank was so sweet, attentive, and great with suggestions. He even gave us samples to try. Everything that we ordered was simply amazing and made our picnic even more successful.Their sausages, burgers, mozzarella, meatballs, etc. are made in house and everything looked so fresh.Ask for a sample of hot sopressata if you ever get a chance to visit, you wont regret it.
Oh my, was this place an amazing treat. I’d had Via Quadronno saved on my Google maps since I moved uptown a year ago — hadn’t had the chance to try it yet until today when I was walking home from the Met. Such a great sidewalk atmosphere and a truly DELICIOUS panini. Loved it!
Wonderful service. Incredibly hospitable hostess. Great food, great. Experience. Highly recommend for lunch in the area, especially for workers.
Great place ! Specials Carbonara is delicious!
This place is so small, the front part is literally tables pushed against a wall in a hallway. We had 3 people in our group so we had to squeeze past the hallway tables to the back which is slightly bigger, but not by much. The food was decent, but Id definitely order it to go.
The decor might be nice, but the patrons are snobby white rich folks. The waiters screw up your order and doesn’t take you seriously if you’re part of the dominant class. Also for two people for dessert and coffee to 50$ is way too expensive.
Il Cosacco panini & pasta carbonara absolutely worth the wait. Also, servers are very kind and fast. Highly recommend!
Such a nice experience! I certainly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere made me felt like when I visited Italy. It’s very cozy and delicious. The menu also is very good with many options of Italian food!
Took a few minutes to get served but then it was quick and our server was nice. The food was hot. Being from out of town it is hard to get used to the prices; $30+ for spaghetti?!
For old times sake I stopped by this typically great Italian spot that I used to go to all the time. Unfortunately I was treated to typical “upper east side” service wherein the old white guy got served my exact same sandwich before I did even though he ordered after me. No apologies offered. Won’t be going back. It’s 2021 folks. I gave it two stars for the service I used to receive.
Amazing hidden gem lunch spot. If you are walking Central Park definitely come here in the afternoon for lunch. Service was great and the Carbonara and baked lasagna were wonderful.
The horrible disinfectant smell could be detected as we walked from 5th avenue. It was overpowering once inside.Brusque service and hideous decor/atmosphere.Food was fine.Wine was expensive and terrible
Had a lovely lunch here with some girlfriend before trying on wedding dresses in the area. Lots of menu options, great espresso (and a skilled cappuccino artist!), and attentive service. Its a tiny place, and certainly filled up in the time we were there. Would return if I was a local!
Food was decent but we were forgotten about by our server and struggled to get their attention to get water.
Amazing food and drink at any time of the day!
Food was good but we expected better. Our server was nice and had a great attitude. What was very frustrating was seeing people who were seated way after us getting their appetizers and their drinks while we sat there waiting for someone to ask us at least what we wanted to drink.
The three of us had a perfect afternoon chat over iced coffees and gelato. Waitstaff was friendly and left us alone to enjoy the company. My iced latte and arranciata were both perfect treats on a hot summer day and they came back to refill our waters multiple times. A new favorite spot!
Service was kind of slow. The sub was okay. The Panna cotta was on point.
We happened to find this place while wondering around for a chill place to sit and have food. The outside seating was super cozy with the provided heaters. Our waiter was also super nice and responsive and the service was fairly quick!Get the paninis when you come here! I got the Il Tiroler panini and my aunt got the La Madunina. The Il Tiroler was very refreshing with the goat cheese and vegetables alongside the savory speck, would recommend! I also got the Caffè, with with they bring you some foamed milk so you can add your desired amount. The tiramisu really deserves all the praise, the creme was light and foamy and not too sweet. It doesnt have a lot if coffee flavor to it though. We also got a pecan tarte and vanilla ice cream - the tarte was warm and buttery and went great with the cold and fresh ice cream!
Madunina Panini was ok, atmosphere was casual which was what I was looking for, but service was absolutely horrendous. No attentive servers. No one to bring my check. Not one person checked in on me. But the table next to me looked like they were having great service. And then they cleaned my table when I went to use the restroom. What??? I could’ve totally left without paying but I chose to do the right thing.
The pasta is soooo good! Must try!!
Best food in my. Ever
Unfortunately every dish we ordered was under seasoned and bland. We had an extremely disappointing meal.
Went for Sunday brunch. Very crowded and cramped, even outdoors. We sat outdoor and was not aware of things on the menu that were posted indoors. It seems to be a neighborhood hangout and the patrons are quite friendly.
Our family stopped in for dinner on a Friday night while visiting the city from Seattle. Service was lovely and the food was very tasty. But the best part was yet to come... The following morning, we realized we had left behind a shopping bag with items we had purchased from our visit - but, sadly, we were already on a plane back to Seattle. :-( I phoned the next morning, and the nicest woman offered to walk our package back to the store where we had purchased the items, so that they could ship us our stuff!! And now our stuff is on the way. I only wish I had caught her name, so I could send a thank you card. Via Quadronno is lucky to have such lovely staff!
Very good food and the gelato was amazing! Coming back here soon!
I had a dessert item (Tiramisu). Never had a DRY tiramisu in my life before today. Didnt even think that was possible, but here we are with a tiramisu that had no ladyfingers soaked in Espresso. Simply dryService was also terribly slow. I was left standing for a while, waiting to be seated although there was no crowd. This I just overlooked, but even once I was given a table I was left waiting for a significant amount of time before I ordered. My original server also never came back even though I could see he was clearly still on shift lol
If youre going to the Met to get cultured for the day, stop here for lunch. Its a cute Italian cafe thats only a few blocks away. I like the paninis and the coffee here. Its all very fresh and service is always great here. Its a nice break after walking around the museum all day.
Pretty nice restaurant. I would like to try pasta next time. The portion is small to compared to other restaurants but it’s good enough for small bites.Tiny restaurant so you might have to wait but it moves quickly. They have variety of gelato and desserts.Staff are nice and friendly.
Delicious tiramisu
We had to wait for 15 minutes in a narrow hallway to have a seat. The food was tasty, but very expensive: over $15 for a small slice of bread with cheese and mushrooms.
My friends and I ordered different panini sandwiches to try a little bit of each one. They were incredible! Well definitely come back!
Best italian food I have had in awhile! The coffee is also on point.
Delicious always a great go-to for lunch or breakfast. Wonderful outdoor area as well as indoor. Friendly staff and workers. Also a great place to stop in for there yummy gelato. Highly recommend
So awesome, food was amazing! I had the Tentazione and it was delicious! My husband had the Lo Spazzino and my sister in law had the Spaghetti Carbonara - all very good! Will certainly go back!
Best Italian restaurant in NYC. Try the bruschetta with mushrooms!
Food is good, prices are in line for Manhattan. I got the veal chop. Tender but not the best cut. I would definitely go back but I would stick with the pastas.
Delicious! Convenient to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (within walking distance) and the lux shops of Madison Avenue. Excellent Italian food. Had the best meat ravioli. Yum!
The food is incredible. We went for dinner, had clam pasta and gnocchi and risotto, finished up with gelato. Only problem was the prices did NOT match what I found on the Web - average dinner is $25-30, not $20.
Cute patio, but rude service & poor value in my personal experience.
$13.50 for a panini the size of a baguette at Panera... My friend didn’t even order coffee because espresso was $6! Definitely $$$, not $$. The caprese panini was nothing special and the tomato used was definitely not ripe. I give 3 stars because the staff was attentive and helped us split our check 3 ways.
Best cookies in New York!
This is by far my favorite Italian cafe on the Upper East Side. Their panini‘s are fabulous, the Tiramisu is delicious, and their coffee is on point. The whole atmosphere is super cozy and relaxing too.
Perfect neighborhood spot for excellent coffee and a prosciutto pannini.
Wouldn’t go back. Food had no flavor, potatoes were barely lukewarm and blah tasting. Waiter never checked on us. Filet of Sole was terrible. Save your money….
One of my most favorite restaurants in NYC
How have I lived here for so long and am only just finding out about this fantastic hole in the wall?! I stumbled in on MLK day to warm up, have a bite and read a little. I found a little table in the cute back room (there are flying pigs on the wall!!) and quickly realized that every other patron was from somewhere in Europe. There was one table from Spain and other from France I believe. The waiters spoke Italian to each other, and I was totally content to just soak it all in. After all, it was the cheapest way to take a trip to Europe I could think of! It was still breakfast time so I ordered the vegetable fritatta panini and enjoyed every bite. It was basically a little omelet on a grilled brioche, but it was served with a fresh slice of tomato and I was under the impression that the ingredients were hand picked from the farm that morning (unlikely, but a girl can imagine!). The cappuccino was easily one of the best Ive ever had. Frothy and creamy deliciousness! I would highly recommend as a lunch spot during a day of museum hopping or just a quaint little place to go read a book. Their gelato menu looked pretty legit as well.
Very nice sandwich restaurant. Paninis did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not a ton of space, but that adds to the quaint atmosphere.
If I could give it zero stars I would. Their service is horrible. I was told to wait with my brother so we did. After a few minutes 3 women came and were waiting as well. The host went to them first instead of us and we immediately left. The host did not even acknowledge us when we were there he literally walked right passed us to talk to them and give them a table.
Decent coffee with food prices that make you realize you are in Manhattan! Small sandwich can set you back $16.
Pros: Excellent soup (~$14), good sandwiches ($13-15), good coffee (~$6). Cant speak to the pasta dishes ($23-26)Cons: Small venue, would not be very accessible to the mobility impaired.
Service was poor, we waited ages and couldnt flag down a waiter at all so finally just got up and went to the register to pay. The tiramisu was hard and almost frozen? Disappointing. Also beware theres absolutely no cell reception if you have a table in the back of the restaurant.
I used to co/Own a business and also live nearby on Madison Ave. so I would.go here frequently about 10 years ago. The coffee, food, and staff were awesome. My business no longer exists but I work nearby. I hadnt been coming in much over the past couple of years, but when I have stopped in from time to time to grab a coffee and/or a bite at the bar I have experienced the rudest, most obnoxious behavior from those Brazilian/Latina bartenders. They are not the people that used to work here. Those girls are racist!!!! I am African American and I really try to be careful not to falsely accuse but these girlss behavior is so egregiously racist I cannot ignore it. Their contempt is very obvious when I come to the counter in their frosty staring and NEVER greeting me ( a customer). They speak under their breath in Spanish or Portugese while you are standing there so you cant surmise whether theyare insultingyou or not. I have never been so disturbed as a black woman as when I interact with them. Let me reiterate, They NEVER acknowledged me as they should a customer when I come inside. Never offer to help me or ask if they can help me as I wait so I am not sure how to proceed. And then they literally give the worst service possible with zero qualms for how bad they are with me. Then I will observe as a white customer walks in and they greet them, and socialize with them, and treat them like they are kings and queens. I have introduced plenty of international friends to Via Quadronno over the years because it was quant magical gem of the neighborhood but last Sundays terrible interaction and service was the last straw for me. I will never go here again or recommend anyone to visit! As one who has worked in customer service ( via Art ) for most of my life I guarantee that this restuarant wont survive another 5 years due to the behavior of these horrible girls/employees! Sorry to say!
Found!Where to go on the Upper East Side for some quick serve, but excellent Italian food??? Via Quadronno of course! Come for the coffee stay for the food. Panini and pastas are great! This location has been a staple since it opened and will continue to be a refuge from Madison Avenue shopping.Make sure you are in The Loupe on all that is new and authentic!
Terrible food!! The paninis cheese horrible no tasty and very expensive. The food is not good. I will never come back here. The only thing that was good was the music.
Very nice Italian food. Rich flavour and large portion.
I love this place. Everything is perfect !
Rodents & RoachesStood outside this morning until 8:10am with employees inside thinking it was funny they were not unlocking the door. When they did open the door and we asked why they would leave customers waiting outside they laughed and said “who cares, call my boss”.For a restaurant that is notorious for rodents and roaches (why most people only get coffee) I find this amazing!!Also there are such BETTER places in this neighborhood that are clean, bright and have cell reception.Ralph Lauren for coffee at 72 & MadisonThe Met Bruer restaurant Flora at 75 & MadisonSt Ambrose at 76th and MadisonMaison Keyser at 74th and 3rdAnd most important just one block away a GREAT Italian restaurant Caravaggio at 23 east 74thAll have better atmosphere, service and food!
Very disappointed about this place. Overpriced food which was reasonable. But, having visited the real Italy multiple times; this had nothing to do with the real Italian atmosphere and food. Very expensive glass of wine was not even served in a proper wineglass. Not to be repeated.
Tiny Italian-style Cafe. We had the Panna cotta which was nice. The coffee wasnt. Great location on UES.
I came here on a whim after spotting it on the street. It was cool, staff was nice, and the food was good. Queue for the food was quirky definitely something that has stuck with me from my experience.
This place is a genuine scam. It makes the food seem high quality and luxurious. However, this is not the case. I ordered pasta and sauce for $26 thinking it was going to be high quality. It tasted stale and the sauce had so many chunks of tomatoes it was unbearable. There was a Basel plant on it as well and I swear it was freshly picked off the side of the road. My friend ordered bruschetta(as shown in the picture) for $15!!!! Just for it to be average to be generous. My other friend ordered a filet mignon panini and to say the least I could’ve made a better sandwich. On top of all this, we had Italian tourists sitting next to us laughing at our food. They soon left because of disgraceful the food looked.
Very cute coffee shop with a warm atmosphere!
Nice
My favourite place for Italian food. Wide selection of paninis, salads, cold plates, pastas and meat/fish dishes. Also their tiramisu is a must try! Very much recommended!Their outside seating is cozy, spacious and equipped with heaters!
Location looked nice but had to wait a long time for our water on a hot day and ended up leaving before ordering since no one came to check on us for about 30 minutes after our waters were served
Poor service and food qualityThey let you do no changes to the plates and their very simple menu it’s not even close to what is expected. Not worth your money
So so. Crowded choice for lunch. A bit over-priced when one considers the quality of the offerings, presentation, and price. Nice staff tho
Disappointing food, service was bad too
Two disappointed diners. Acoustics are terrible with a lunch crowd. Couldn’t have a conversation. Waiter had an attitude once he finally came to our table. The asparagus tartine wasn’t anything like the photo. Small, slab of white bread, two spears of asparagus, cheese that wasn’t even melted. Basically room temp and unappealing. The special “lasagna” of the day was just eggplant (skin on despite being told it was peeled), no pasta, and an outrageous $28. Never again.
I can understand the price and the quantities of the food there, but what it tastes doesnt match the status it presents. Highly recommend they improve the quality.
Perfect place to go for a meal after visiting The Met – it’s like being transported to a little town in Italy. Their Paninis are perfect, the DIY Tiramisu is awe-inspiring and cappuccino is lovely.
Great food, service and ambiance
I dont think there is a single person there thats Italian. The cooks are Chinese the wait staff hispanic. The sauces are very salty. I asked for something else because this. Instead of making it right the server charged me for a second dish.
Great hot chocolate and close to to the Met! Also have a restaurant in the back. Its a great little hole in the wall place with character and great coffee. Ill be coming back soon!
Pay attention to your bill. They added an automatic 18% gratuity, and then still allow you to add a tip
Gave wrong sandwich (one with meat) to someone who ordered a vegetarian sandwich.
Always like to get a cup of mocha and panini here...
I searched this place up and it looked nice. I went there and they told me to wait so I did. Three other females came after me and they started to attend them before me even though I was waiting there for a while so I left.
Stopped by for lunch smallish tables. Yummy soup and fresh panini and pastas. Beer and wine available. A bit expensive. Very local crowd.
Cozy local coffee shop/light food/restaurant. Tiny, and expensive ($6 for a small latte!), but cute for a lunch and to sneak out of the cold on a fall or winter day. Seats on the front glassed area are nice for people watching. Seats in the wider back section are warmer and quieter.
Great food and I loved the Tiramisu. Lovely experience.
I think the policy of not seating you unless youre eating a lunch meal when there are lots of tables free is bad. Coffee was decent but expensive.
The paninis are good (~13$), but compared to other restaurants its pretty expensive. I mean they are not so big or so elaborate compared to other restaurants around 13-15$
1 star for great location and nice staff - however would not return due to extremely expensive price for the bad quality of the food.
A bit too expensive with its 20% mandatory service fee with tips, flavor is okay-ish
Really small portions for the quattro formaggi at least
One of my favorites places in Manhattan. Mortadela sandwich, minestrone soup and/or lasagna. Incredible pastry and coffee.
Great cappucino and tiramisu, great atmosphere.
Excellent
My favorite spot for saturday lunch. dont go there if you are claustrophobic, but expect the best sandwiches and salads offf the continent of europe.
Best sandwich of my life.
Food was amazing. Very quick service. Natalie was very helpful and friendly!
Wonderful cozy place; lovely food, freshly made ( choices for vegetarians as well ); warm and friendly people; a gem.
Had a wonderful lunch here. The food was delicious and the ambience warm and charming.
The lasagna tasted like straight chemicals. & I don’t recommend getting it at all.
So friendly and helpful great coffee and food.
Nice place to have lunch. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Sandwiches are good.
Went for dinner, and the pasta was OK. The shrimp and Pasta with cream sauce was on the bland side. . But, the pastries smelled amazing, and it seems to be an amazing lunch place, albeit wicked expensive for spaghetti and marinara sauce (not really kid friendly but hey, live and learn right?) Its also just off central park so Im sure they gotta pay rent. It wasnt bad, just expected better for $150+ for a family of four.
FAKE ITALIAN RESTAURANT!!!!👎👎👎👎👎 food was very bad . My Caprese was without oil and balsamic at all, just cheese and tomato’s 🤷♀️🥴 so, about Bruschetta, it was just tomato on bread that’s all. And I payed for it 50$. Food was so disgusting!!!
Average food and service. Some of their sandwiches are quite good. Avoid the Nicoise panini, its just 1/4lb tuna salad + an egg. Good people watching the street. You pay premium price for the location.
Clean is often a synonym of good, but not in this case. Place smells like floor cleaner solution mixed with tomatoes sauce. Impossible to enjoy. Panini was dry, bread is okay, lox was good. Tea was served in coffee kettles which made tea smell like coffee. Overpriced.
Had a very nice lunch. Was crowded but was seated quickly. Good food, good service.
Delicious food. Their waiters could stand to be nicer.
Disappointing food, over priced, not authentic, and poor service. Do not be deceived by the atmosphere.
Some of the worst Italian food Ive ever had in the city and expensive to boot. Instead of Parmigianino Reggiano, the arugula salad came with a very unappealing slice of some non-descript cheese. It looked like a slice of plastic. The fish course was a preprepared thin breaded fillet of who knows what fish. It came with mashed potatoes and a mix of cooked cut up vegetables. Two salads, two fish courses and two glasses of very mediocre red wine came to $150! Need I say more?
The lasagne was very bland. Hamburger for the meat sauce. Wine was terribleAll in all a boring, expensive lunch
Well, The charge you 18% tip of their chose and upon that 7% tax then blaming it on the machine, not nice! The food = ok!
Great food and coffee. Decent service. Get the prosciutto and olive sandwich
Probably my favourite Italian place in New York. Very delicious! Very comfortable! Very nice people around!! Thank you!!!
Strong Italian coffee
We only stopped for a coffee, but we were greeted by nice staff and a good cappucino.
Waiters are rude. Food are way overpriced and not good at all.
Our lunch here needed a great Tiramisu fix and was not disappointed.
I thought it was very good and reasonably priced for downtown Manhattan. Very authentic Italian style.
Definitely not $$, at least $$$. 3 pieces of tomatoes and 3 pieces of mozzarella for $18.50
Good service but the food was expensive for the quality of the food. Not worth the price.
Charming Italian bistro, pillowy gnocchi -- and deliciously fun cappucino
Food was mid, overpriced and easily forgetful.
A must must go if you live in the neighborhood. Very Italian, simple good ingredients. Great food.
Treated us special on a day we were celebrating. The lattes are high quality. Service was a little lacking because they were busy but thats expected. Spinach lasagna Im still dreaming about back at home 200 miles away.
Good staff, pricey food for what you get
I love it here. Close to the lark. Great food and service
Love the sandwiches. But has become a little expensive
Perfect spot to warm up w some hot drinks and paninis before/after a walk in Central Park/museums
Great Italian foods!! Owner was very nice and helpful
Good lasagna, not so good risotto. Excellent service, yet a very expensive place (for what you get).
Paninis were delicious
We had been to this place on 6th May 23. Its a vibrant place. The lady owner/manager has amazing skills of interacting with people and with her ever smiling face is seen interacting with every client ! Amazing PR skills. Most of the clients appear to be regular ones. Food delivery was prompt , staff very energetic and the food was delicious. Worth the money. Must visit place in NY trip.
