This location is fantastic. I first visited in August and saw that the facilities are great; the simulators, changing rooms, bar area etc. are in top condition. The staff are always really helpful and friendly - Shelby goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. It didnt take long before I signed up for a membership. Ive also taken lessons with Jacinth Thomas and hes excellent. Ive been playing golf for about 25 years and hes been able to improve my game more than anyone else Ive worked with. Id highly recommend coming here!

It was my first visit to this location, all the facilities were amazing. They had plenty of room, great locker rooms, and ping pong as well which was fun. As with every Five Iron Ive been to the staff was amazing as well. 5 Dollar all you can eat wings was great

Ive been taking lessons with Hugh and he has been absolutely amazing! I asked him to teach me from the basics so that I can learn the correct fundamentals to improve my golf swing. He really has gotten down the perfect mechanics. He will cater the lesson to your needs even without you pointing out your needs. Hugh is the best!

Shelby is a great person and very helpful. She runs the shop like a pro. I had such a great time with friends and everyone has been super nice. I can’t wait to get after it again at this location. Don’t see myself going anywhere else moving forward.

First lesson I’ve ever taken. Lucky to have been with Hugh. He obliterated my stroke in the best way possible. Now we’re building it back piece by piece on the right foundation. Take a lesson! You won’t get better on your own. Thanks Hugh!

Cannot recommend five iron enough! I picked up golf about two years ago and I was lucky to have come to 5i from the very beginning. My coach Jacinth is super knowledgeable. He helped me set up solid fundamentals, learn to read Trackman numbers (absolutely fantastic technology btw), and I’ve been able to make progress really quickly. The staff is also amazing - general manager Shelby and everyone else are always super friendly and helpful every time I visit. I’ve taken numerous family members, friends and colleagues here and they all loved it. This is literally the perfect place to practice, or play some casual golf, or just hang out and have a good time

The newest location of Five Iron Golf is AWESOME. It is large and very spacious, all the simulator areas are generously sized and have comfy chairs and couches with them. Everyone who works there is so kind and helpful, I can’t recommend it highly enough. The instruction staff is also top-notch, you won’t find a better golf lesson in NYC. Can’t wait to come back!

Hugh Heo is an excellent instructor. Patient with a novice golfer, but instills the fundamentals with consistent and immediate feedback. Would recommend booking a swing evaluation or lesson with Hugh!Also, the herald square location is massive with plenty of large bays. Great for getting some practice in or having fun with your golf buddies!

Hugh is a great instructor and has had a significant impact on improving my golf game in a short period. As a new learner golf can be an intimidating sport, but Hugh has done a great job breaking down what I need to focus on for my swing and simplifying the game. Highly recommend working with Hugh.

Pretty fun and cool hangout place. Good sims, decent drink and food selections and also has ping pong and throw basketball too. Good service and friendly staff.

Fantastic service, amazing coaches(Currently taking lessons with Susan and she’s been super helpful) and trackman, what more can you ask for? Membership is very good value if you can take advantage of their non-peak hours. They also have a fitting center upstairs.

Been taking lessons with Jordan for the past ~2 months and I am super happy with my improvement! Have made a ton of improvement. Jordan is patient and explains the techniques in a way that makes sense. Gives you a detailed explanation with what all the numbers on the sim mean, as well as analyzing playback of your swing video in great detail. Definitely recommend taking lessons with him!!

Very fun and I dont even play golf! Love the vibe of the place and it is beautifully decorated and maintained. Our server was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. Make sure you get a reservation and that you are on time, this place gets packed especially on the weekends. Food selection and drinks were great as well.

Aside from having a place where you can play golf year round with the best technology/ equipment/teachers/fitters, you also truly feel like you are a part of a community each time you go in. I recently visited 5 Iron Golf and had a fantastic time. The environment is very welcoming, and the food is delicious. We had the honey chicken sliders, hot dog, cheese bites, and pretzels. What stood out the most was the inclusivity – 5 Iron Golf is not only for seasoned golfers but also offers a fun and engaging experience for novice players. Overall, a perfect blend of a great environment, tasty food, and an inclusive atmosphere for golfers of all levels.

Cant say enough good things about the awesome team at Herald Square! My 14 year old son has gotten very into golf, and joining Five Iron has been a way from him to keep up his skills during the cold weather months. He goes there after school most days, and really loves the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Hes had one really helpful lesson with Jacinth so far, and is looking forward to doing more. A special shout out to Shelby and Nick, who have been so kind and welcoming to him, and really look out for him while hes there. So glad we found Five Iron!

I highly recommend Hugh Heo as an instructor at 5iron! I’ve taken lessons with him previously at Alley Pond and have resumed taking lessons with him at 5iron. Extremely patient, encouraging, and understanding, I am always eager to go get lessons from him on Sundays and practice in between. He answers all my questions and has greatly improved my form. Make sure to get your lessons with Hugh!!!

I went to five iron golf for a swing evaluation. I arrived early and was allowed to go to my simulator to begin practicing for 15 minutes prior to the lesson starting. Jacinth was my instructor and he was great. He was hands on helping me with my swing and showing me video compared to a pro to identify the areas that needed to be fixed. He let me stay at the simulator for another half hour after my lesson concluded to work on the things I learned. Great experience overall!

Ive been taking lessons with Hugh, and I really appreciate his critical approach. Unlike many instructors who tend to give generic praise, Hugh provides honest feedback and points out areas where I need improvement. This has been a fantastic few weeks, and I’m eager to continue learning from him.

Just had my very first golf lesson here with Johnson. The facilities and technology were top-notch. If you are new to golf, this is an excellent place to get started. Each time you swing, the TrackMan generates a swing analysis along with a video playback, which was extremely helpful. Overall, highly recommend Five Iron and I will be back for more very soon.

Five Iron has been hospitable, welcoming, a great place for experienced golfers to improve their game, AND for complete how do I hold the club? beginners to find their way in a comfortable environment. Its relaxed, its positive, its comfortable. The entire instruction team is top-notch, and theyve become a great home for my group of friends, almost all complete beginners to the game. So, I’ve lived in Murray hill for 4 years.This may just be the best activity I’ve had here.Ryan was such an incredible manager helping us out personally when he didn’t have to. Megan, meanwhile, was perhaps the nicest bartender we’ve had yet coming over and giving us the best customer service.Other places should step up.Nice job Five Iron.

Hosted a Sweet Sixteen Social corporate event for clients to coincide with the Sweet Sixteen on Thursday, March 24th. We had 25 people in the fitting lab location (back-to-back simulators) and the putting green off to the side. It was perfect. NCAA on the TVs, we had one simulator with closest to the pin competition and the other with a foursome playing 3 holes and others were putting and/or enjoying great food and drinks. It was perfection. The event lasted 3 hours, and we were having such a good time, we rotated down to the bar on the 1st floor to continue fun. The staff is very attentive (no one ever had an empty glass and food was promoted replenished when we devoured it) and golf pros there are outstanding, super knowledgeable and helpful - not trying to do too much, just make the experience more enjoyable.

Shelby and her team do a fantastic job. The service in this location is unmatched. I did my swing evaluation with Hugh and he was great as well!

Came here for a lesson and got a great one from Jay. Was a little skittish about hitting into a simulator vs an outdoor range. But you can’t beat the analytics that Five Iron provides. Each swing is recorded from two angles and measured in half a dozen analytical categories. They put your swing next to a video of a pro golfer (brooks koepka in my case) so you can see where your breaks are. And finally Jay was just very adept at breaking the full swing into parts to work on. I def left there with a better swing and would recommend to anyone looking for a lesson.

My experience at 5 Iron Herald Square was amazing! I went with my girlfriend and another couple for 2 hours and it still wasn’t enough time. The entrance decor is really cool and gets you excited before you even get up the elevator. Staff is super friendly and helpful, the facility is very clean, the clubs were brand new, and the simulators were extremely accurate. The food menu is fantastic as well!We started off on the driving range then moved to target practice before playing a few holes at Pebble Beach. The girls were beginners so I will need to go back with the fellas to play some more competitive golf. 😁I HIGHLY recommend going to 5 iron Herald Square! It is a perfect hangout spot. You will definitely not regret it!

Horrible experience. Went on a Friday night with friends. I got told to leave at 10 sharp with an empty bar and nobody waiting. In addition, servers picked up food/drinks before we were finished. Very pricy too. I would rather go to TopGolf

I’m a teacher and we brought our school’s PSAL golf team here for a practice session and everyone was super helpful and friendly. The kids hadn’t been to a place like this and had a great time. Food came out quickly and was delicious. (Try the guac and the buffalo wings!) The manager, Shelby, was incredibly welcoming and let us play shuffleboard after our time on the sim was up. Thank you for accommodating us! We will be back!

Johnson was very thoughtful and analytical and encouraged me to play even after more than 12 years off.

Big fan of this place. Me and my friends play in a golf league here. The layout is perfect, whether you are a serious golfer and want to work on your game or just want to hang with friends. The gm Bryan is great. And, the staff is fantastic. I don’t know all the names but Graham is usually there when I go and he is great. Big ambassador of this place and will be here even more when the winter hits and I can’t swing outside.

Five Iron Golf is a great place to take clients. Their set up is perfect, private area to entertain and practice your golf swing, that included a trainer, other activities like ping pong, foosball, etc. and a great bar/food selection. Would definitely do this again!

I had gone through a few instructors with different teaching styles where I definitely learned, but felt like something was missing. From the first lesson with Hugh, he was able to clearly pinpoint the problems in my swing and had a plan for how I could improve it. He’s extremely detailed and cares to focus on the fundamentals which I really appreciate, because my previous instructors had skipped over those basics which just led to bad/wrong habits. The way he explains concepts is clear and he really takes the time to go into the details if he sees something that needs to be fixed. He helped break my bad habits in just 3-4 lessons and I can already feel a difference in my swing and ball contact. Don’t waste your time and money trying to find the right instructor for you (especially if you’re a beginner), you’re in good hands with Hugh! Highly recommend.

Everyone at this Five Iron is amazing from start to finish. Bryan was great getting me signed up as a member and helpful every step of the way. Then when the head on my driver snapped, Bryan connected me with the Fitting Lab and the team there lead by Chris helped me find a shaft replacement, then got it repaired and reshafted in no time. Couldnt recommend this place more.

You can use the things attached to your torso that allow you to stand, called legs to walk down and exit the facility.That being said this establishment is amazing. The technology is on point I love the fact that the monitors are touchscreen and also have a mouse as a option lol. The staff is able to answer any questions you have. This place is really cool. I would come back time and time again.The service is really fast and the drinks nice and strong.The equipment is fairly good. Not too bad , also Check out their deals and the membership. Seems like they have some cool deals.This place is best for single players or small groups anything larger I feel like you waste time taking turns and trying to balance the golf ball onto the tee. better to get your own booth.

Good place to practice and play a simulated round. Good beers on tap, they have Guinness! They also have ping pong tables. The bathrooms are actually locker rooms, which is really nice. Putting is tough

I have been taking lessons with Hugh Heo for several weeks now and he is an excellent coach. He is incredibly patient and has helped me improve significantly. Golf can be difficult and frustrating, but Hugh is able to quickly pinpoint the root of my mistakes, come up with a practical drill that I can practice on my own, and leave me feeling encouraged after each lesson. I have no hesitation giving Hugh my highest recommendations.Additionally, Shelby and the team at 5i Herald Sq have been nothing short of excellent. Huge location - much bigger than the Flatiron location. Wide spaces for each simulator with a track man and instant video feedback on your swing. Pretty good value for the money if you go with a group of 3-4.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! As someone with zero golf experience, this place is fun, safe, and welcoming! The staff is AMAZING. They are so friendly and funny and helpful. The facility was great but the staff made this visit perfect. They were willing to help and explain everything in a way that made me feel so comfortable! Next, the food was delicious!! Everything was cooked to perfection and was soooo yummy. I can’t stop thinking about the Mac & Cheese bites! The facilities and amenities are also toppppp notch. 10/10 would come here again!

My son took classes from coach Jacinth Thomas. He is an amazing coach , he guided my son with all the right techniques. He surely took his game to the next level. I would highly recommend him .

One of the greatest business takeovers in history! Five iron took over this previously unaffordable sim space and made it available to the general public at an incredibly affordable price. This isn’t just a place for low handicappers and serious golfers, the programming they offer: from casual leagues, special happy hour events, to competitive golf tour allow you to play at your level and intensity. The facility is incredible with 14 trackman sims, the amount of feedback you get is second to none. The fitting lab offers custom club fitting. The gym is stocked for all levels of training. The friendly and welcoming staff ranges from skillful cooks and bartenders to expert coaches, instructors, club fitters and personal trainers. Basically, if you’ve ever thought: “I could be amazing at golf if I only had access to what pros have access to...” this is what you’ve been waiting for, and it’s incredibly affordable to boot (your entire monthly dues will equal 3-4 rounds of golf at good golf course. Schedule sim time and get a walk through of the space, you will instantly be hooked.

I very well may have learned more about improving my game in one hour from Steve Keough than all of the lessons with other pros as an adult.

I’ve always wanted to pick up golf but it seemed impossible living in the city without a car to get to a range. I decided to sign up for a membership at Five Iron and it’s been the best decision. Bryan is awesome and extremely helpful, and so are the rest of the staff. Can’t go wrong with this place!

Hugh is a great instructor—patient, clear, and encouraging. He’s extremely systematic and is exceptionally good at explaining concepts in a way that’s simple, intuitive, and easy to implement. He always gives good pointers for items to focus on in practice, which is helpful in between lessons. My swing after a few lessons with Hugh looks and feels better than it ever has. Highly recommend Hugh for anyone looking to improve their game.

Had fun. Personnel were very attentive. My only comment would be thay It would be great to have better instructions on how to navigate the software while in the bay.

Went for my reservation and they had overbooked. Waited around 20 minutes to tell me they couldn’t have us for another hour. Didnt do anything to make up for the experience

As always 5 iron and staff treat you like a member of a prestigious country club with the pretention. I accidentally booked a separate session at the UES location and the staff called me and made the adjustment to my reservation. Amazing customer service and I’m happy I’m a member

Jay (Jacinth Thomas) is a great instructor that provides both instructions on how to better improve your swing and relating to you on a personal level. It is hard to find someone that you vibe with and someone who provides valuable swing advice specific to your swing and Jay is exceptional at both.

Very helpful instruction. Very insightful with the video and other tools at the 5i facility. This was my first 1 on 1 golf instruction personally and would recommend it to anyone else that has taken basic/intermediate lessons but hit a plateau so to speak, this will help narrow down what you need specifically. Great data and stats with the track man too of course!

I’ve taken a number of lessons with Steve Chung in the Herald Square location. He’s fantastic, and I particularly appreciate the texts he’ll send me afterward with a summary of the main things I need to work on from our lesson. Super helpful!

The pro Jordan was fantastic. Spotted flaws quickly and was able to point corrections in simple and very easy ways which we were able to implement right away.

It was a fun time minus being overly attended to by the wait staff. Just seemed like we weren’t allowed to really enjoy our time bc we were being interrupted literally every couple of minutes by several of the staff. It’s one thing to check in to make sure customers are having a nice time it’s another thing to hover and overwhelm. It’d be a nicer experience if the staff wasn’t constantly interjecting. Also our computer kept freezing or the screen went black. But overall was fun if you ignore the constant interruptions and the feeling that you’re being chaperoned.I prefer the range.

This 5 Iron location is pristine and would highly recommend. Hugh is an amazing instructor and truly understands how to get the best out of his students. He is extremely efficient and I have seen great progress already.

Just back from a short stay in NYC and took my son to 5i golf. Customer service from start to finish was absolutely amazing. A regular hangout spot for me and my friends, some of us play while the others sit and co-work with us. Always a good time. The food’s amazing too!

Ive been here a few times over the years to hit around on their simulators, which is a ton of fun. But the reason Im leaving this review is because I just had my first lesson with Jacinth, and will absolutely be coming back for more. He was a tremendous instructor who opened my eyes to a few elements of my golf game that Id been overlooking, and Im looking forward to developing further as a player with his guidance.

The staff were extremely accommodating to all of my requests for a large party of 16. There were a large selection of clubs with different shaft stiffness for players of all skill levels and gender. The Trackman provided several fun games that everyone could enjoy. The pricing for the event and any alcohol at the bar were extremely good as well. Would definitely come back again!

Hosted an event there and it was fantastic! Very easy to organize and the service was awesome. Shelby, Chase and Josh were really attentive and made sure our group was very well taken care of.

Ive been trying to improve my golf game and got booked a lesson with Jacinth. It was great. Ive never had someone go into so much detail about the things to correct in my swing. Im certainly going to go back for more lessons.

I have nothing but great things to say about this location. I am a member of the Baltimore location, which is also fantastic, but at the Heralds Square location I was just a visitor. They were extremely hospitable, made me feel comfortable, gave me a place to work in between meetings. They hire really great people.

Nice place and service, good for socializing with friends, business events or just practicing golf.

I’ve been working with Steve Chung over the past few months. He’s helped improve every aspect of my game. I just need to schedule time to come in more often. I couldn’t recommend him more

Five Iron Golf at Herald Square is an excellent indoor golf facility for lessons, practice, and drinks/events. I have gone several times and will continue to go back for NYC golf.I started with J as a beginner, and have already begun to see significant improvement in my game. I have no doubt that by continuing to take lessons with him, I will be able to achieve my goals. He breaks down the game using all of the technology the Five Iron provides in a way that is easy for me to understand and implement into my swing. I look forward to playing more with J at the facility!

What an incredible place for golfers. Its an all-around beautiful place. There are tv monitors everywhere to view the sports channels. I could not believe the size of the space. The team was friendly the service was wonderful. They were constantly wiping down the surfaces and keeping everything clean. This is one of NYCs best-kept secrets. This is a golf lover paradise.

I was impressed with the depth of the analysis and the clear explanations for why the particular club/shaft combinations we tried worked for my swing or not. The environment was relaxed, and the experience was a lot of fun. In retrospect, well worth the investment.

Incredible golf facility in the heart of Herald Square...I started taking golf lessons here with J as a COMPLETE beginner. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with my progress with J. He is masterful at breaking things down and focusing on technique, but in a way that caters to each individuals level and learning style. he seems to be very high in demand, so be sure to book at least a few weeks in advance if youre looking to secure a time slot! Whether youre a beginner or serious golfer - the world-class facilities and instructors here really help you see and understand things about your swing that you wouldnt otherwise!

How many times did I swing and miss?At least 20.On a scale of 1-5 how much fun did I have?A for-sure 5.I’ve never been golfing before, nor have I even swung a club. It felt like a video game with real golf clubs - a very pleasant experience. Convenient location, great weekend activity. Something fun to do in this socially distant time at a gorgeous place hidden in the middle of the city.While I’m no professional, I think they offer a pretty cool service - nice for private events or a date. There’s a full bar and food made ready to order. No need to bring your own clubs, they have plenty - both male & female, lefty and righty. Separations between each section (giving you some privacy) are perfect for beginners who don’t want everyone to see their (lack of) skills. The simulation software offers you challenges for friendly competition or just a chance to see how long you can drive. Definitely something you can get hooked on...I’m going again, soon!

The technical setup at Five Iron is PGA Tour level: The latest TrackMan hardware and software along with multiple, integrated high-speed cameras. The bays are massive so you never feel pinned in by the walls - no need to make an indoor swing here. They have a PuttView setup for putting and short-game practice. Finally, the staff at all levels is fantastic. The instructors are some of the best in Tri-state area; the club builders are meticulous; and the management is always friendly and accommodating.The only reason Im leaving a four star review is that they have some serious ventilation issues. The entire facility reeks like a White Castle kitchen. Your clothes, your golf bag, and even your hair will smell like fried grease afterwards. Id go more often, but the resulting dry cleaning bills would bankrupt me.

Was a member till relocating out of NYC. The setup at the HSQ location is great, with all sims setup with Trackmen. However, this review is mainly for Steve Keogh, whom I took lessons from for about 2 yrs.Steve is hands down the best instructor I’ve ever worked with. Although he’s great at using the technology to help his students understand their swings and set goals, I think his communication skills set him apart. He didn’t provide quick fixes or bandaids for my swing. Rather, he clearly explained what body movements to focus on to get the club to properly swing. Many of those changes took time to properly ingrain. Although I still have more to work on, my understanding of my swing is so much better than it ever has been. I feel like I have the tools to keep working on my game.My desire to keep improving is as high as it’s ever been, in large part due to Steve. If you’re serious about getting better, I couldn’t recommend taking lessons from him any more highly.

Excellent experience here! Very tasty food, the drinks were outstanding and my server Miguel was very attentive, hasty, and polite. Will be coming back soon this was an amazing experience!

Cant recommend Five Iron enough!! I have been to the Herald Square location 5 times now and every experience has been great. Such a cool concept in the city and the the simulators/amenities are set up to be fun for golfers of any level. Most importantly, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Will continue to go back!

Awesome experience with the coolest staff!! Tasty food, big selection of booze, trackman in the simulators. Really cool place to bring some friends. Went with a couple friends and their wives and between the sims, pop a shot, and ping pong, everyone was entertained. Highly recommend... bang for your buck is through the roof in NYC.

Phenomenal facility and great service, Tristan was great and the Trackman and down the line and face on with the slowmo replay is everything you could ever ask for.Awesome place.

5 Iron is an absolute dream facility with an amazing staff. I was able to try out their new menu and the sliders are a homerun. A great spot for groups, go out of your way to check out their newest location.

This location is a lot nicer than the others in the city. I would definitely recommend this place for hh or an evening event.
