Henriettas use to be a lesbian bar, now its a straight bar. They let any and everyone in there. As a dyke I dont feel comfortable in there anymore. I went for my birthday 🎂 and so many girls was kissing men, and when I asked a girl to dance she said shes into men, . I saw 1 girl talking to 3 guys at one time and took up the space to sit down. Im elderly now, and I dont feel at home there anymore. Its sad 😔

Henrietta’s used to be a place I would love to go to, then I saw its true colors. Greed, racism and unfriendly atmosphere. The horror stories I’ve heard about the owner are disgusting as well as a lot of the people that attend it. Crazy door fees when the drinks are about the same price (also watered down) and the music has gotten terrible. I haven’t been back in a while and I don’t think I’ll ever step a foot in this place again. Unfortunately, it’s one of the only lesbian bars in NYC but there are SO many other great queer bars out there. Do not waste your time. I’m actually upset at the ownership greed and the taking advantage of the lesbian community which is already struggling in this city to find its place.

Amazing place. The energy is awesome. Love the music.... it will keep you on your feet. The drinks I do recommend.

We visited early December 2023 on a Saturday night and the bar was awesome! It was packed but we were able to dance with no problem. The music was good, they played all kinds of music from pop to R&B, reggaeton, etc. Beers are cheap and people are nice 👍🏻 def coming back!

Vibes are good and it made my second lesbian bar experience pleasant and enjoyable!! Really hope there will be more lesbian bars like this. The bathroom capacity is a bit limited though, there was a very long line.

My sister and I visited this venue for the first time last night, and we were blown away! Despite some concerning reviews about discrimination, we were treated with respect and kindness throughout the night. As Asian women, we were a bit apprehensive, but the staff and patrons made us feel safe and welcome.The atmosphere was electric, with great music and a talented DJ spinning the perfect clubbing tunes. We loved dancing the night away without feeling uncomfortable or harassed. The crowd was respectful, and we appreciated the considerate vibe.We were impressed by the friendly staff, particularly the woman at the front door, who was warm, funny, and made us feel right at home.As a lovely bonus, they even offered dog treats for the furry friends passing by – a thoughtful touch that shows they care about their community.Overall, we highly recommend this venue and cant wait to come back!P.S.: Yes the drinks are pricey for the size. But, we kind of expect this from New York 🤷‍♀️ If you are a coffee lover, do try the Espresso martini 🍸☕️

Ive been here a couple of times and I normally really enjoy the energy and the people! I love the bouncer and the bartenders are also always super nice! However, Im not leaving 5 stars solely because whoever is in charge of handling the bathroom line is always so rude. The worst was the last time I went. I went with my best friend last Saturday (it was her first time there) and earlier in the night we had gone in to the bathroom together before a line had formed and it was nbd. Later on, when it had gotten more packed and there was a line, we tried to go in together and instead of just telling us two people arent allowed in at a time, the bathroom person aggressively grabbed my friends arm and forcefully yanked her back from following me into the bathroom. This is completely unacceptable, especially in a gay space that is supposed to be a SAFE space. It would have been enough to just tell us two people cant go in together, rather than physically putting their hands on one of us when we didnt even know it wasnt allowed and were not doing anything wrong. It felt incredibly disrespectful and was so jarring.

I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years. However, now I only really come here when DJ Mary Mac is playing which is usually Saturday nights. Otherwise, it could be hit or miss on other nights here in terms of music and vibes. Drinks are a little pricey but nothing unusual. Originally, I would’ve given 2 stars but because I met my girlfriend here, Henrietta will always have a special place in my heart and has been upgraded to 4 stars. When the DJs get consistently better, then I will upgrade it to 5 stars. The bathroom line also is a nightmare but I simply piss outside if its unbearable. LOL. Some nights will be boring here but some nights will be off the chain. I will always support this venue until I’m 6 feet under.

It was my first time there last night July 21 2023 celebrating a early birthday the Bartenders where nice and cool. the only bad thing was the music suck. Ms Lisa the owner is a nice humble young lady. hopefully they could make two days night Lesbian night only.

I had not been here in years. A friend came in from California and wanted to check it out, so we went. The staff at the door was nice but the bartender at the main bar was rude. She didn’t know how to make a common drink that my friend asked for. When she googled the drink, she then said that she could not make it. Fine, we switched up the drink. After serving us several times, I go and ask her for the same 2 drinks we had been ordering all night. She gave me mine but refused to make my friends drink with no explanation. Her entire attitude would shift, whenever my friend ordered drinks. Too bad that they don’t hire the type of bartenders they used to hire in the past, who were always friendly.

Amazing girls bar! Met the owner she was gracious and thank us for coming from Nashville Tn. Regulars played pool with us! Great hanging out and felt very welcomed!!!!

This would be a 5 star review had we not received completely unreasonable treatment by the bar management. We had a great night, enjoyed a couple drinks, and really enjoyed the vibe and the DJ until the end, when management accused me and my partner of going into the same restroom when we absolutely had not. We had gone into adjacent restrooms at the same time (which were actually filthy for the record), and as soon as we came out, we were asked to leave by the manager (?), who then immediately disappeared into the back room without letting us explain it had been a misunderstanding. This was surprising and upsetting, as we were visiting from a city without a lesbian bar scene and had been having a pleasant, relatively chill night which ended too soon.

Was vacationing in New York and my partner and i decided to visit here thinking it’d be fun. The girl at the front checking ID’s was rude to us but we said whatever and went in anyways. The cover charge is 13$ per person!! We spent over $70 that night. Drinks were insanely expensive and watered down af, had two mixed drinks each and felt nothing. Music sucked it was a bunch of repetitive EDM that was hard to dance to after one or two songs. It was wayyyy too packed in there and it was hard to dance even if you wanted to. People are jumping around dancing and it’s hard to get off the dance floor if you want to. Website is super misleading as you’re expecting a historic lgbt bar but it’s really just an overpriced night club. Wont be returning when we come back to nyc

Loveeee this bar!!! First time going , went for a Taylor Swift night and they ate that !!! Super fun atmosphere and awesome bartenders. I recommend the Apple-Cran Mule. Favorite lesbian bar by far 🤩🤩✨

Went there as an ally. Vibes and music were great and I had a super fun night out! Can get a bit crowded though which makes it feel a bit cramped. Also, make sure you use the bathroom before going. It’s a 30 minute wait otherwise!

I need to start by saying that Natasha the Manager, was very humble, accommodating , approachable, And being that it was our first time visiting there, She gave everyone I was with a free drink ticket on her. Such an awesome way to start the night. I went to Henrietta Hudson, that evening to celebrate my good friends birthday. I was not sure what to expect, Because I was told that it was predominately female crowd.. Nonetheless I still went to check it out. Safe to say I was more then pleasantly surprise!. Great music, Nice crowd, Strong drinks, Which is always a plus!. And above all I was treated with respect, which made me extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this place. And I will definitely be back!. Thanks to the staff, and Natasha. It was a memorable night!.

Had an amazing time during the New Years celebration. After midnight they opened up the VIP area which was really cool. The music and the dancefloor was great, everyone was really friendly and chill. I ordered a vodka cranberry and it was really good. Strong, but not enough to make me drunk off my behind.Great experience.

WARNING: keep your phones and wallets solidly in your hands. Was having a good time here until my phone got stolen, and when I was leaving there were 2 other girls by the hostess who also had their phones stolen. I was leaving fairly soon after getting there(getting robbed is kinda a buzz kill) so Im sure the 3 of us werent the only ones who got robbed throughout the night.After my experience, I told some friends about it, and several of them have had, or know someone who had, similar experiences here with phones or wallets getting taken right out of your pockets or bag. Which Im sure we can all agree, is not a safe way to be when youre in Manhattan needing to get home at night.The drinks were great, the music was good, line for the bathrooms was CRAZY, and the robbery sucked

Been coming here for years. There are no systems in place to request the absence of cis men. I fear that this will no longer be a qt/afab bar in a few years. Extremely disappointing. Feels like profit is fully over being a safe gathering space for qt/afab people and it’s very unfortunate. Not sure where to go but this doesn’t feel like it anymore unfortunately

Ok ladies this is actually a pretty great spot to go to. I always have a great experience every time I go. Not sure if it’s the booze or the great music or the great vibes that I get from this place. It’s always a good time! They do charge a cover now at 10pm which is ridiculously early but a lot of people still make it on time. The bouncer is super cool and so are the bartenders but sometimes there’s only one lady working when there’s a lot of people. It normally gets packed always. But the space is reasonable and the music differs.

There should be huge signs telling ppl to keep their phones in their hands bc someone swiped my friend’s phone out of her bag. I think they watch for distracted ppl who are making out. It’s really not safe to allow girls to be stranded without their phones in the city at those hours. The vibe was good otherwise. And pls make more phone announcements bc we only realized her phone was missing after an announcement at like 2 am. The alcohol is also too sweet.

The bartender was so rude they didn’t let us even finish our order they closed the tab immediately, then reprimanded us for not tipping. We weren’t even done ordering so we were going to tip at the end but she assumed the worse. As a service worker myself I know it can get overwhelming but she took out her anger on us and gave uncalled for attitude

It’s okay. Went there, and the lady at the front was rude. The bartender was also rude. Asked for a bigger tip and when we declined, they dumped a expensive bottle of wine on us snd demanded we pay a bigger tip and for the wine.

My partner and I decided to take our queer friend here for her night out in NYC and it was horrible. The bouncers were super rude and kept trying to charge me for stepping outside after not warning me about the policy. Then when I tried to speak to her she refused to listen and walked away. The staff also double charged us for our drinks. Not a very welcoming place overall, wouldn’t go again.

Went here for the first time last night (8/28) and I think it can do better - its awesome to have spaces like this that are intended for sapphics!! Cover was $10 and they asked for proof of vaccination, which felt good bc masks came off inside. The crowd was aged 21-25 and exceptionally white (a given for Manhattan); the DJ was awful and it was also a bit too well lit to be a fun dancing space. Drinks were good and about $10 each. Friends and I stayed for about an hour and a half before having gruff interactions with the bouncers and leaving. Overall, Id give it about a 3.5 out of 5 stars, but will give it one more shot before discounting it.

Despite being overpacked on weekends, I’ve never felt safer in a club or queer space that centers femmes, womxyn & tgnci folks. I wish the security guards would be more sensitive to checking others property or judging someone’s identity. Also to have a organized space to put jackets and bags. So it’s not crowded in one couch and folks who have disabilities can sit down comfortably than need to stand the whole time. Xoxo

Went on a Friday night, was uncomfortably crowded and the music was aggressively bad. Top 40 but with a special emphasis on vulgar and obnoxious. Drinks were expensive, small, and bad.

Used to love this place, would always come because I thought it was a safe bar for lesbians but when a situation happened, a straight man was trying to be weird with my friend and I told the hostess. they said they couldn’t do anything because he “so called” didn’t do anything but he was following us thru the bar for a while and tried to record my friend while she was dancing and I had to push her away and they said he didn’t record her and proceeded to tell me if a women was recording, it would been a different situation and that I would haven’t been acting like that and just made seem like I was being dramatic and made it seem like i was bugging out since I am a masc and it was a ego thing. the situation was dealt so horribly I thought this was a safe bar from predatory straight men but I guess not and they proceeded to say he was regular so I put two and two together so tips are more valuable then the safety of the LGTBQ customers, definitely never coming back again. the bar is starting to cater to straight people and not care about the safety of anyone who is part of the LGBTQ, please if you do decide to come please stay safe while coming here and be aware of any weirdos at the bar :)

As a native lesbian New Yorker, Henrietta Hudson was my first queer bar back in 2001ish. I had a blast there back then. I come back every few years and it just keeps getting worse. Its so cliquey and the bartenders are not inclusive at all to folks who arent regulars. In a landscape where queer bars are on the verge of extinction, it would probably be a good idea to be a bit more welcoming to your visiting community members. We are all in this together!

I go here whenever I’m in NYC. Oldest female identified owned queer bar. Most diverse as well. Cheap drinks, close community, go here to socialize. You CAN find lovely people to go home with but that’s not it’s central focus. It’s a great place to find new friends and try new dance moves out xx

I HAVENT BEEN THERE IN SO LONG AND WENT IN ON SATURDAY, THE BARTENDER IN THE BACK WAS REALLY NICE, NOTICE THAT I WAS A PERSON, BUT THE MUSIC WAS OLD AND BAD, LIKE SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO MIX LIKE A DJ SHOULD COMBINE SONG, BUT IT CUTS OFF AND THEN I HAD TO FIGURE OUT, HOW TO DANCE TO A DIFFERENT SONG, AND A CORONA BEER IS SMALL CAN THAT DOES NOT EVEN GIVE YOU A BUZZ BECAUSE IS TWO SIPS, AND COST OF SMALL BEER THEN A REGULAR BOTTLE CORONA WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE, WE ALL KNOW INFLATION IS UP BUT THIS REALLY SHOWS THAT IT HAS, AND I DID NOT SEE ANY FOOD BEING SERVED, DONT GET IT BUT IT WOULD BE A LONG WHILE FOR ME TO RETURN....

Had a great time after 10pm. The bartender before 10 charged us for 4 drinks when we only got 3 and refused to fix her mistake. She then caught an attitude with us as we were just trying to explain to her what happened. Not a place for drinks but more so atmosphere. 3/5

Welcoming and safe space for all queer folks. Good musics, nice staff and friendly patrons. The cheap happy hour on weekdays is worth it. Pool table in the back is a guaranteed good time. Tuesdays are karaoke and Thursdays are comedy.

Ok, so here’s the deal. Me and my girls (I feel I must mention we are POC) went out for a beautiful queer summer evening…looking for a diverse (I repeat diverse)crowd of ladiessssss 🌈🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩But, we were met at the door with music only complementing one crowd, along with a sea of absolutely noooooo poc queers in sight. Plainly put, we were the poc they mentioned frequented this beautiful establishment.I was very disappointed for this venue to claim “diversity” and not having anything diverse about who patrons this queer haven. I’ve read reviews and I watched on Tik tok for suggestions black queer people can let their hair down (you have to read through the comments…i now know that).Henrietta Hudson is an awesome bar with awesome staff however, if you are looking for diversity unfortunately, I would not check this box.Signed,The left out black lesbian.

My girlfriend and I searched for LGBT bars in NYC because we hoped to have a couple drinks and relax without the worry of people staring/commenting etc. It was by far the least friendly lesbian bar I’ve been to. I understand that we are the ever-dreadful tourists, and those pesky tourists are SO annoying. But seriously, we ordered two drinks, sat quietly at a table by ourselves and then attempted to play pool. I think this is where we went wrong. See we waited until the pool table was empty, checked to make sure there weren’t any quarters on the table (standard public pool table rules- there weren’t any) and started a game. Maybe 1 min in, some woman came back and made some snarky comment about there being a wait list on the table? We still aren’t sure if she was asking or telling. We tried to clarify and she threw her hands up and said it’s fine. So I guess if you want to play pool at the bar, maybe see if there’s a sign up sheet? Bizarre.The bar itself is tiny and could use a little TLC (and possibly some bleach). The only reason they get more than one star is because, while the drinks were overpriced for being a dive bar, the bartender did free pour, so that’s good I guess?Honestly it’s not worth the trek down from Times Square. But I don’t think they care for tourists anyways so...

I had recently went to this bar for my girlfriends birthday and it was a great spot. The music was good, the drinks were amazing and the prices were reasonable. And the vibe from the people was cool. I would deff recommend this spot to any female that wants to be within their comfort zone with their significant other, this would be the spot😉

This place has a history of either employees or people steal credit/debit card numbers and your license...So if you are going just be careful about your bank account. And the fact that they specifically hired one person to take care of stolen credit/debit card numbers is serious insane. Like the bartender actually asked if there were any random, unknown charges. Such a shame too. My girlfriend and I had a great time there.

Bartender gave me a drink I noticed in 2 plastic cups I lifted the one cup and there was a hole in the bottom spilling everywhere couldn’t even drink fast cause the second cup inside the plastic was broke in half on the lip part? Idk why he wouldn’t just use another cup instead of throwing together 2 broken ones. Never had an issue like that ordering drinks at a bar before

Its good, but so far ONLY on holidays. On a regular day the crowd is older and a little less attractive (in my humble opinion). Also, if its a holiday expect it to be packed like sardines. Im cool with that but some may find it uncomfortable

Great place for lesbians. Most of the crowd is lesbian and very few guys were on site. The music could be a bit better but overall its a cool place to visit and even hook up if youre lucky.

Love this place. You would definitely enjoy yourself. It tends to get very crowded and its hard to move from one place to the other. One more thing the drinks could have been better. I got mine from the second bar, near the restrooms. Other than the atmosphere is great and music will have you moving to a beat. Its literally 7 mins from Christopher st Path station.

The best hummus this side of the Mediterranean -would have had another order if I had more time. Amazingly friendly staff and stellar outdoor design. While I miss the good times and late nights Henrietta Hudson brought to the hood, they’ve done a good -no, great job in the post-pandemic world. The party will be back but for the moment grab a charcuterie plate or two, you won’t regret it.

This place is wonderful. The energy is nice, staff is cute, and its rare that I go to a place where I enjoy the music and find it danceable though as the night goes on the music became more club like rather than listening to fun music with friends.

Great place for groups to go dancing. Only problem is getting a drink can be a little difficult. Also I think I had the grosses drink Ive ever had here but I still had fun.

By far the BEST bar nationwide, Ive been to other bars in NYC, LA,SF,Chicago,Orlando and Miami and non of them compare to HHs. Completely awesome service, lively,and the finest DJs. Will definitely recommend and patronize again and again when in NYC!

Visited this spot for the new years, 2017, and unfortunately couldnt get in because it was so packed. There was a crazy line & a $20 cover. Despite not getting in, my friends & I were really impressed with the Djs musical selection, so we hung out outside of the lounge for a little bit.

Terrible place and money hungry. You have to pay an additional 12 dollars to get back in if you go out for a smoke. This policy is outrageous. Over packed and a safe hazard. I will not be returning. Okay

I liked this place but the Dj needs to improve on his/her music selection. Also, Ive never payed before to enter a gay bar and have fun but then again $10 is not bad but is something for you to consider.

Came here to party for the 1st time Coming back from a pandemic I actually was there the night before they closed down in March of 2020 I thought With the remodel and all things would be a little bit better The new staff is friendly Which is quite pleasant but the amount of people that they allow in is ridiculous it was more like a sweat Box You could barely dance let alone get a drink and with the covid variant why dont you Spread more of the virus kind of Attitude to put money in your pocket is Disgusting at least have good ventilation please do better

Horrible experience my friend got her wallet stolen here, and the workers didnt do anything helpful about it.Also the waitress that has a average built and curly hair was rude from the beginning, to everyone I was with.

Was refused entrance because I was a male. Was the only place open in the area and because of how I present myself the bouncer wouldnt let me in. Given I understand what kind of crowd the bar is aimed towards, I still dont understand why I was REFUSED entrance.

I am a straight man, but had an incredible time. I felt welcome, the energetic joy was out of this world! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈It was standing room only on a Saturday night even after 2am. The line for the bathroom around 20 minutes, and intermingled with the dance floor. You could order drinks in the bathroom line.

I went to for a nice vibe but instead the vibe was weird I walked inside a little room the music was horrible and then I waited 30 minutes at the bar when it was time for me to order they said they were changing shifts and I had to wait so I just left. If you are not a regular don’t waste your time. They get one star because I didn’t want to be rude and give them no stars🤷🏾‍♀️

This is a lesbian friendly place I would love to go to again! The music is awesome, the people in there are friendly...all we need are a few gay and lesbian symbols and this would definitely be the place for me and my two gay best friends!

I went here with my girlfriend and we liked the place. Im not much of a dancer (she is), but the vibes were good, the drink names amusing, and the atmosphere queer.The music was annoyingly loud, though - Id bet all the staff have permanently damaged their hearing, and it made me wish I had brought earplugs.I do have one major complaint: They didnt card either of us and some of the patrons looked underage, which is worrying because it would be really easy for them to get shut down for that.

Every time I have gone to Henrietta Hudson I had a great experience. My only issue that I have had in recent visits is how crowded it gets near the bar in the main room. It is so busy that is almost impossible to walk or move in the space. While I love being in a lesbian bar, and the vibes in the space the large very tight crowds can be daunting and overwhelming.

IM CHANGING MY REVIEW TO A 5 STARS BECAUSE THE OWNERS HAVE TAKEN THE INITIATIVE TO GIVE SMOKERS A SMOKING PASS INSTEAD OF CHARGING THEM TO RE-ENTER.I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A FIVE STARS AS THEY HAVE IMPROVED ALOT. During Covid they have revamped the place and is now a much more attractive scene. Drinks are much better and the bartenders are awesome. Unfortunately, the people at the front door are always arrogant as if they are doing as a favor to have us over. THE WORST PART IS THAT THEY MAKE SMOKERS FEEL DISCRIMINATED. IF YOU ARE A SMOKER YOU HAVE TO PAY $12 entrance fee to go out and smoke after 9pm. I complained a few times and suggested a stamp like they do in every place in the city, in case they don’t want to spend the extra money on bracelets. But no one seems to care. When the owner is around, she is at least a little more kind and will let us go out once or twice to smoke without charging us. Once a month I conduct a girls nights out and always bring 5 to 8 hot girls over, but unfortunately feel that my business is not appreciated as it’s at CUBBY HOLE.I HOPE THEY SOLVE THIS ISSUE SOMEDAY AND TREAT SMOKERS WITH MORE RESPECT AND WITH EQUAL RIGHTS SO I CAN CHANGE THIS REVIEW TO A 5*

Cute bar! Went out for a last minute birthday celebration, and it was a great time. The staff and bartenders were THE NICEST, which was great. The space is a little small, but it’s still fun to dance wherever you can find a spot. The music selection seemed obscure with some tiktok hits thrown into the mix, but we had a great time. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a chill night out!

Had a fun halloween night out with my friends here! My friend had way too much to drink and was throwing up on the sidewalk outside. All the staff was very nice and kept checking up on us, offered her a chair, and gave her plenty of water bottles.

It’s very small and a sweat box. The people in the front were nice and the bartenders are nice as well. But the drinks are watered down. There’s no space to walk. The line for the bathroom is everywhere and the person in charge of the line was very rude and unorganized. I went to celebrate my birthday and never again plus a $12 cover fee to enter.

For me as a woman everything was ok, what I am very upset about is the fact that the bar tender was very rude to begin with one of us, since he just thanked her politely and they responded in a very unnecessary rude way... Then the one in charge of the restrooms also pushed him as he tried to go into the restroom. Same thing to my transgender friend, she was just trying to go to the restroom as well and was treated just as rude as the other one bc they assumed she was a man... Thats why I said it was fine for me as a woman. That said makes me feel very upset bc of the discrimination that they went through at this place, its LGBT and cant even respect people of your community, how hypocrite!The music was ok, but was lacking.( Also Ive been to gay bars and have never treated me like that for being a girl).

This would have been 5 stars. I am a transwomxn and a baby dyk3. First two nights coming here I was treated with kindness and felt very welcome. However, Halloween wasnt one of those nights. So I am waiting on line and the large male presenting security gaurd loudly misgenders me and tells me to move without explanation. Then he bumps two people in front of me before walking away. I understand if he needed me to move. But he could have spoken in a kinder way. My date and I ended up opting for another bar that night. Also if youre going to work in a queer space you shouldnt be assuming anyones gender. I am not into getting anyone in trouble. All I ask is that management have a talk with him. Thank you.

I’ve been there a few times on a Saturday night and I haven’t been impressed. The drinks are watered down and expensive. My friend and I bought the same drink but for some reason she was charged more. The DJ is bad and boring plays a bunch of playlist songs from the 2000s. Last time I went my friend and I just decided to leave and go to Stonewall and the DJ a there was a thousand percent better.

This was one of the first places I had the pleasure of enjoying when I came out . Now 10 years later my wife and I wanted to relive our moments there . Unfortunately it was NOOOTT that! The crowd was smelly , no one mingled everyone was just in their own cliques . Drinks were WEAK and expensive . The DJ didnt blend songs and had the music all over the place ! Sadly we will not be returning or recommending to our peers .

Fantastic drinks! Enjoyed the frozen blue margaritas and a peach creation the bartender whipped up! Both the magnificently air-conditioned inside and the cute little outside table area were very comfortable. Staff are super helpful and personable. Meat and cheese board was also surprisingly good! Also happily surprised with the clean and plentiful individual bathrooms!

I loved to come here and dance. The atmosphere is great. The bartenders are super rude to male identifying individuals. Drinks are well priced, and the people are fun. It can be a little weird visiting if youre not a local, but after a while, it began to grow on me as I continued to visit. Overall, I totally recommend.

One of the first gay bars I’ve come to after coming out publicly. Brought 2 straight guy friends for support. Originally was really excited but then had a small Asian woman and her friends attack my straight friend for being there. He tried to politely explain he was there to support me but she ignored him and told him he’s not welcome here and then proceeded to insinuate he has predatory intentions by telling him to not touch any girls (he was standing in the back doing nothing). I’ve heard great things and the service here was okay, but this type of behavior is hypocritical and shouldn’t be accepted in the lgbtq community. My friend no longer wants to return to a gay bar for fear he will be verbally called out again. If the girl who insulted my friend sees this, you should be ashamed of yourself for causing the same discrimination that you claim you’re fighting against. From my perspective you don’t represent LGBTQ values and you need a reality check or a punch to the face. (Preferably from someone who’s gay so you can’t pull out your own gay card as a shield). Disgusted and horrified.

Why does everyone wanna make out

Way too overcrowded. Dancing was impossible and at times it felt unsafe due to how many people there were. Very underwhelming.

I came here for my first time when the new year started and ever since than I can never stay away from this place. The managers and the bouncers are so nice they do there best to keep club safe. The bartenders are just amazing as well they work pretty fast and they make sure everyone is satisfied with there drinks. The dance floor is great they have a pool table as well. There’s two sides of the bar in here which is nice. It’s amazing because when you come here you are guaranteed to walk out of here with 5 or 6 friends. This is the place to go enjoy great music, meet people, and enjoy the environment. Staff are pleasant, and friendly. They provide phenomenal customer service to the patrons. Ive been going here since 1991. Way back in time.

Have had a good time everytime. I really like the staff and usually end up getting into cool conversations with the patrons and bartenders. My favorite time to go is when it first opens; it’s perfect to meet others at that time. I love the bartenders and longtime patrons. It’s a nice space, by the water and open to all.

Great spot but unfortunately there are too many restrictions above the average bar/club that makes the experience terrible. Drinks are okay. Music is good. Security is subpar.

I loved coming here until a manager tried to force herself into the bathroom two times when I was in there and then lied that I punched her to get me kicked out. No one wanted to hear my version of the story and they just kicked me out on a frozen night without my coat, they were so bad handling this situation that I wasnt even allowed to get my coat. I was treated horribly over nothing. I felt unsafe and completely violated.

Love this place, but didn’t appreciate the girl at the DJ booth a few weeks ago. The music was from the early 2000s, no one was dancing, and some of my friends made comments. When I made a comment she told me to go somewhere where they play my kind of music… as a person of color, didn’t appreciate that. I left shortly after, didn’t want to deal with her or the Kelly Clarkson playlist. Please remove the girl with the hat from your staff.

I used to love this place, but lately it been looking increasingly run down. Seems more like a dive bar now than a trendy bar/club like it used to be. They definitely need to do some updating on the decor. Despite all of this, still one of my favorite gay spots in NYC.

Was visiting from out of town and stumbled across this little place. The bartender was very friendly and outgoing. Met a couple of really nice people and I really liked the atmosphere. Small and cozy. Only downside is the place is pretty small and much later in the evening it was getting really really packed and it felt really small.

Drinks are expensive. theirs a cover charge usually and if these things dont bother you then your good to go. Three stars because of the dancer they had dancing on the bar the night I went she was awesome and beautiful. The music was great.

Not INCLUSIVENOT FOR USPERPETUATES COLORISMIve been coming to Henrietta since I moved to NYC, 10+ years ago... its always been hit or miss with the crowd...however last night was my 1st time since before covid and hunnti... more than just the decor has been renovated.The crowd consists of mostly college aged, 20-25 year old billie ellish types with a few Tracy Chapmans in the mix. Security and DJ were both POC that catered to the them, and not US black/brown women. Its all a ploy. Like Affirmative Action hires.Never thought I see a LGBT+ bar lack in inclusiveness. But when i saw security kick out a group of all black women and then proceeded to ban a completely separate group of black women because they assumed they were together I knew they had an agenda to racially profile.If your group consists of ALL black/brown types..DO NOT GO. They will not welcome you.

I came here to get a few drinks after dinner it was Karaoke night which was amazing. I enjoyed my time here the ambiance is very nice and the music varies. The drinks were also very good.

I have no complaints about this place other than its a little on the smaller side which to he honest is great because if everyones inebriated, its much simpler to find your friends when the night comes to an end. I went there once for a Bar Tour it was amazing. I was just wondering if I want to go inside do I need to get a pcr or rapid test, I only have one dose of the vaccine. Because I have been trying to get the pcr, but not a lot of places get results back early.

Best, coolest place on Hudson. Such friendly people around, Ive been with lots of different friends (gay straight queer and anything else) and everyone has had a great time, loved the atmosphere, music, chilled out guests and lovely people. Thank you Henrietta whoever you are ;)

As much as I want to support the Gay community, this was not the best experience. Visiting NY, and friends suggested stopping in.For a small local little bar, there was no welcome of any kind. We ordered a bud light bottle and a soda for $15 plus a tip. Thats NY for you.It did seems to be very transgender friendly; which was a pleasant surprise.This bar did not seam really for visitors. I’ve been here a few times and the first two times were great. The bartender was friendly and so were other patrons. My most recent time the bartender was so rude they didn’t even acknowledge me, instead just taking my friend’s order. There was definitely some unnecessary hostility there. I also dealt with obnoxious patrons constantly bumping into you. I’ll give it three stars because overall they could do a better job of improving the atmosphere here, it gets pretty meh after a while.

I go here pretty often as its one of the few lesbian bars in the area. I usually go on Fridays and they have people at the door collecting the $12 cover charge which is a little steep in my opinion. The girls at the front door collecting the cover charge/ putting on the wristbands always have an attitude. This isn’t the Meatpacking district...relax ladies...this place is NOT that serious. Drinks are weak. Music is good sometimes. The crowd is mixy.

Coming here on a Thursday night is fantastic. There is no cover and great music is played all night long. The club is open until 4am and it is in a great location to get something to eat after if you desire. The genres of music goes between, pop, rnb, classics of the 90s and newer hip hop , and reggaeton.The crowd is usually diverse in age and ethnicity. From people in their late 20s to mid 40s it is a welcoming, inclusive environment that is sure for a good night out.

One of the only lesbian bars in the area. They generally won’t let men in even if you’re gay. But if you’re with a bunch of lesbians, you have a half a chance.

It was about 10 years ago when most stunning petite bleached blonde Gwen Stefani impersonator from the South Bronx, a former professional dancer with American Ballet Theater with ivory skin, crimson lips and covered in tattoos, picked me up at this bar. She pulled me into the bathroom with her. We shared a cab. She took my softest vintage black T-shirt with her the next morning. I never got it back.Glad to see that Henriettas is still in the business of making dreams come true. ;)
