I enjoyed coming here. The food was good. I ordered a burrito and was just astounded by how big it was. The only thing I didn’t really like is how dry the chicken inside was. But other than that it was a nice experience. Nice waitress and the drinks were really good!!
I recently went here with 2 other friends and was super disappointed. I’ve come here a few times before and it was fine. Service is absolutely slow every time but the food was good. Up until my recent visit. Not only did they add gratuity to our bill but when I pointed out that there was a cockroach near our table, the response we were met with was “this is New York City. We try our best. Sorry about that, would you like shots?” I was flabbergasted. The sense of urgency and the lack of customer service was truly appalling. Will never be going here again.
Food was on point! We got the chicken chimichanga which was perfectly fried and smothered in sauce… I practically licked the plate clean. We also got the veggie burrito was gigantic! Heads up they use a lot of mushrooms in the burrito if your not a big mushroom person. Plus their happy hour ran till 8pm which was awesome.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ! UNLESS YOU WANNA EAT HAIRI ordered nachos for delivery & when my food arrived not only was it cold but there was a black hair sticking out ! GROSS I called to make a complaint and the lady told me to contact grubhub for a return the least you could have done was process a return yourself and apologize for the inconvenienceThey use to be so good back in the day as of lately service and food quality and taste have been horrible as well as overpriced! Drinks for happy hour arent that good either I would grab a beer that about it.
Nice outdoor seating. Come for the free chips and salsa and cheap happy hour drinks ($5 margaritas) but don’t except great food. The quesadilla was extremely disappointing: it was basically two corn tacos - not grilled or heated. The chicken was rubbery. It didn’t look or taste anything like a quesadilla
The food is absolutely amazing!Best mexican food in Harlem hands down!Affordable! Clean! And most importantly delish!
Better than i remember.Came here tonight because i was in the neighborhood. I ordered guacamole. ($10) They make it to order and as you if you want it mild, medium, or hot. I choose medium and it was a true medium. I saw fish tacos and couldnt resist. ($11) The fish is fried (meaning frozen out of a bag im sure) but they were deliciously dressed in a cabbage/carrot topping with a mild sauce and chopped parsley. Not bad. The classic margaita was fine at $7. Overall a perfectly fine meal. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible either.
Mondays is karaoke. First salsa dancing party then singing. I had a pre birthday surprise cake here and late night happy hours. They bring you chips and salsa appetizer when you are drinking.
My favorite Mexican restaurant uptown. Amazing food and service! Alcoholic beverages are amazing, if visiting with friends the pitches are great!!
My mom went on my behalf to Picante and she was blown away by the amazing service she got while getting takeout! Their Al Pastor tacos were the best Ive had in a long time! To the staff at Picante: keep up the excellent work! :)
I live in this neighborhood i know this place for about 10 years , today I decided to eat here,, I got chicken quesadilla it taste so good but for my surprise I just found that they’re serving chicken with plastic,, it hard to break down bcz the plastic , I have some experience with this type of chicken it’s the same chicken serve in the Chinese restaurant,, so bad !!! It can cause cancer it should be serving to people never again come to this place
Highly recommend this local Mexican spot on a Tuesday evening for tacos and margaritas. They had a live DJ and a comfortable sitting space. I enjoyed the passion fruit and tamarind margaritas. The birria tacos were good, but the loaded nachos were amazing and good a dish to sharing.
Simple, yummy, casual. Good menu choices and flavors were mild so if you like spice, ask for more.
Great place, tasty food. I’ve tried many plates and all of them are good. Nice walls decorations.
Ive been here three times for their happy hour and have enjoyed every single visit. However, it can get pretty busy on weekend nights and the servers tend to be overwhelmed. This translates to longer wait times and mixed up orders.
Lovely 😍 Mexican food location in harlem. I stopped by for the first time and was literally greeted by the owner as if I was apart of the picante family so customer service is A++ as for the food I ordered tacos and The burrito 🌯 gigante and unfortunately as big as it was it wasnt very good nor was it tasty... it lacked a lot of flavor plus as soon as I tried to pick it up or cut it fell apart and the wrapping was soggy. Really had high hopes for this place but I do believe in second chances so Ill give the chefs another chance in the future maybe they just tired that night lol. The atmosphere, the vibe, the decor and the set up was very welcoming so Id say give this place a shot.
I have to come here every time I visit New York, place makes amazing food. Hole in the wall spot good music cool ambient. Just a choice spot to go a eat
I love this place its my go-to spot although its a taco spot I am obsessed with the cheeseburger the meat is so juicy and the flavor is on point! Trust you will not regret it. The Buffalo wings are so yummy as well. But one of my favorite options is the burrito or the garlic shrimp n mashed potatoes. Listen I could go on and on. But if youre on a budget and youre looking to have a drink go for happy hour they have the best affordable drinks!
This by far is the best Mexican restaurant in Manhattan. The food is amazing, everything on the menu is great and will have your mouth watering, and thats just the food. The drinks are amazing and they have a bunch of unique drinks you cant find anywhere else with the best bartenders. What really stands out here is the staff and atmosphere you will totally feel at home here. Music is great and they even have DJs to spice things up. The customer service here is flawless and its what you expect and much more. Ive been coming here for years and its my home away from home. If you havent tried it I recommend it 100% you will not be disappointed!!! 10 out of 10!!!!!
I’ve been coming here for while, and today, will be my last coming here. I saw sitting at the bar and a group of 4 ladies come next to me at the bar, and they clearly expressed they only wanted to get drinks to go. The waitress had the nerve to ask me if I could move to accommodate the 4 ladies, but my food just came! I clearly told the waitress I would not move, and she caught an attitude and was talking about me in Spanish like I didn’t know I could understand what she was saying. I’ll stay in Washington Heights where they have better food.
2nd time there, this time for happy hour while working remotely. Didn’t disappoint at all. The guacamole with the salsa verde 🤤🤤🤤 I got the birria tacos super good, my fiancee got the 5 tacos he loved them. The sangria also on point. Definitely going back
Yummy food good portions and strong drinks. Friendly staff, good selection of music at a tolerable volume. The fact that my super picky boyfriend and I both looked at each other and thought of his moms cooking (particularly the Mole) we knew we found our new go to spot for home style food.
Very lively neighborhood place with very good & fresh Mexican food. The evening I was there (sitting outside) featured a DJ inside & lots of young people having a great time. The staff is really polite and attentive, important to an older guy like me! If I’m in Manhattan again, I would definitely come back!
Iv been a fan of this place for many years and I loved to eat at the restaurant. But the last few times Iv been there I noticed they serve smaller portions. I ordered for my mothers birthday they sent over a baby spoon a rice and two baby spoons of beans and tons of bean sauce. For the price I paid and what was delivered was just mind boggling. I ended up having to more rice and beans to go with the meal. The food taste so good just go back to the bigger portions.
Great service, a good healthy servant of guacamole, and chips with sauce to take out
The food and drinks were wonderful!!! Our waitress didnt speak English so there was a lot of miscommunication. I would definitely go back.
Over priced but its NYC so not uncommon. I dont know I didnt like $20 for 3 tacos and then they melted cheese on a plate that had a bunch of oil on top and served that with the Birria tacos
The food is good! Good attention but prices are high now. I have been going there for so many years and pricesare higher now and also they charge you 2.00 fee to pay with credit card! Abusive☹️
I heard some good things about this place and I decided to try it. The first time I came here I got the skirt steak w/ tostones & rice & beans with pico de gallo. The food was decent but not worth the price. AND THEY FORGOT MY TOSTONES. Now I come back a second time and I ordered the same thing and now the price has changed because they said “rice&beans” is a separate order from the price. When it literally comes as one side together on the menu. Paying $44 for a skirt steak w tostones & pico makes no sense to me. This will be the last time I come back here.
I love this place. I feel as though it is a perfect place to dine solo or go with a few friends. The service is attentive and youre not having to wait extremely long for food or drinks. Happy hour is from 12-8 and they have happy hour all 7 days of the week. I really like the passion fruit margarita, and the birria tacos. Everyone I bring here ends up really enjoying the environment.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. Been coming here for years! The customer service is awesome. I’ve never ever had issues here. Highly recommend! Very cool spot to have quick lunch and drinks.
They have the best birria tacos. they also have a good happy hour.
Good drinks didnt eat anything on this occasion, however the food is Normally good! Not overpriced. Chill atmosphere outside. Great place to go hang out with friends or go on a date without needing to spend $100.
THEY HAVE THE BEST BIRRIA TACOS EVER!! the staff makes you feel like family. They are amazing. Drinks are cheap and the vibes are amazing. I can’t go a month without coming here
Ive been here multiple times. 2 nights in a row and the waitresses are always nice. Some mild inconsistencies but nothing extreme. Love them, the food and vibe.
I had the biria tacos and strawberry margarita. It was very delicious.
Colorful Mexican restaurant that served everything and their Pinã Chulada and mimosas are the best.
The food is very goooood; the stuffed avocado is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and its very exciting at happy hour. The service may not be so good according to who your server is. Otherwise, one of the best eateries in the area (Hamilton Heights).
The food was wonderful. Waiting over 45 minutes for 2 plates seems excessive, but they were worth it in the end. Prices werent terrible. My biggest problem was the service. Complete attitude from the waitress, unmerited. She literally dropped the menus in front and walked off. Not even a smile or any semblance of a welcome. I felt like I was burdening her to make an order.
Picante has become my go to place for food and drinks. Everything on the menu is delicious, the drinks are amazing and the staff is excellent. I always recommended my friends and family to visit when they’re in the area and I will continue to be a customer for years to come!!!
Fantastic drinks, good prices, great staff. This place is my go-to!
Pretty good food. A little expensive. Noisy when trying to talk. Had nachos, which were rather skimpy. The best was the housemade Pico and guacamole.
I came here months ago and got some food, appetizers and a couple margaritas. The margaritas were only decent - they tasted akin to something that might spew out of a slushee machine mixed with cheap tequila. Food was okay, but definitely better options. The outside seating area is nice, I just wish theyd step their game up on the food and drinks!
...Its ok for s quick bite!
BAD RESTAURANT. “NO NACHOS”
Wonderful staff and attention to detail. They know when you want attention and when you prefer privacy.
Had the worst experience ever. The male bartender tonight on A FRIDAY was horrible. He did not make the best margaritas that ive always had after having 10 years coming to this resturant. I was told by the waitress that the margaritas had the measurements required and was given my drinks back. The regular margarita didnt even come with salt like it always comes with. The piña colada was watery. One of the worst experiences that i have had after they changed the management team.
I lived in Hamilton Heights since 1996 and this place the 1st I found near my house and had lunch there. The steak everything always so good. THIS CINCO de Mayo I tried the chimichunga I have for the 2nd time. Festive cinco with dj, food, drinks and.of course shots. Happy Cinco!
Amazing food... I love the chicken chimichanga its great. The service is fast here for both takeout and eat in. Mexican inspired decor and the bar serves a variety of drinks.... bonus, the staff are friendly and well mannered & that makes Picante even more special to me
We were there last night. 12/30/2015Food poison! Definitely did not pay for rotten food. How dare you! Serve rotten chicken. My children were throwing up. My self not so good. Dont go there if you dont want to get sick. Rating should be D or better yet F. At the door not B.
Great Drinks (skinny margaritas available)Happy Hour $6 dollar Margaritas + $1.00 for flavor (7x3)Good drinks, lively music. And I asked the bartender if she could make me a skinny Margarita and she was more than happy to. I will be coming back ;)
I laughed when i read a previous review, this is the perfect, ultimate place for margaritas and appetizers before going to the lingerie shop across the street for the main corse. the food is awesome! will be back!
The service is great and the food is so delicious. Great portion sizes on food and drink! The community is welcoming. This is a great place to go dancing, or take in a sporting event!
Food was pretty good, and for Manhattan was a decent price. We went on a Saturday and there was music going on with people just doing salsa, it was very fun and lively environment.
Pros-In the cityQuick serviceClean bathroomGorditas was good!Waitress was niceCons-Bad lighting. I want to see whats in my food!!Baaaad salsa. If a Mexican joint screws up salsa, thats a major major no no.Mediocre taco. Steak meat in the taco was hard and chewey.Quality of food isnt goodTheres better Mexican restaurants in Harlem! Avoid this place.
One of the hidden gems. Great food amazing atmosphere. Everyone is super friendly and the owner is present so far every time I have visited. He clearly takes pride In the service and food.
Ive been here three times it was agreat experience and great portions and food. Always takes forever to pay so make sure to try to ask for the check when you get your food. Literally 15 min to pay.
Pretty decent Mexican food, and I actually saw the burritos increase in price. They do take out orders and their last call is about 15 minutes before 01:00 in the morning for the kitchen.
The food is great, but they no longer offer tongue tacos and their prices have increased. Their sangria and margaritas are still phenomenal.
Strong drinks and yummy food! I Come here all the time
Great food good customer service. Takes a lil while for the food to come out but worth the wait
It has a B grade, food has no arrive, dont know the prices, ask for substitute was told the food come prepared, dont get why have to wait 30 minutes food has not arrived yet. Daughter finish chips. It looks like a dungeon, can see electric and cable all over, music too loud, its lunch time, only playing rock. I not been served yet. Owener is from Ecuador, server are Mexican, Dominican and Ecuadorian. Food arrived 35 minutes later. I ordered a Chimichurri. Chicken dry, a lost of luttuce. $8.00. They dont write it like that, its just an 8.
The food was delicious and so were the drinks and even though the staff was nice the service was a bit slow. If this gets better I will definitely give it a higher score
Nice personnel, but very slow service. Didnt mention a change in the service. Offered feta cheese and substituted with other cheese without asking. Food was very good.
I being to many mexican restaurants and try the mole enchiladas and they’re good but this place makes the best mole the gives the echiladas a unique flavor a better taste 👅 😋😋😋yummyy very good portion too and great drinks 🍹
Margaritas and food were good. Service was alright, but a little slow. When we were there they were blasting awful music so it was difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. Try sitting outside.
Decided to try this place out; mostly because Frijolitos next door was closed. I had the order of Birria(Slow cooked beef stew) Tacos as well as a chorizo taco. The food overall was ok, the Birria Tacos only come in an order of 3; tortillas weren’t crispy so that was a let down. The soup that comes with the Birria Tacos, usually for dipping the tacos, was really good. The chorizo taco was good. Also got a michelada which was a solid 6/10; they used Valentina instead of Tabasco which in my eyes is a no-go because the Valentina clumps up rather than mixing with the drink. If I could I would give this place a 3.8/5.
I love this place and I come here all the time, BUT the food portions are getting smaller while the prices increase.
Takes 20 mins for 2 tacos and another 15 for side order of chips and guac for a half empty place? The foods good but the service is pretty trash :/
Great food. We went early on the day so no crowd at all. Food is delicious.
Food is good and nice ambience. It’s probably not the best authentic Mexican food you can have in this area, but the price is fair and staff is friendly.
My favorite place to eat near my house , always a good margarita , best carne assada !
The Tacos, Guacamole and frozen Margaritas were delish and didnt break the bank.My waiter was friendly and attentive.
Great real Mexican Food
Good food and drinks. The service was a bit slower, but that wont stop me from coming back.
Have been a loyal customer to Picante since it first opened. I appreciate it being in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood restaurant/bar. I wish it was in the neighborhood, when I lived in the neighborhood. Maybe I wouldnt have left the neighborhood. Good prices and staff
Picante is my go to mexican place in the Upper West Side. Their margaritas always hit the spot and the food is consistently delicious. So far I have not been disappointed with any of the dishes I have tried but my favorite is definitely the burrito!
The food is all right. Nothing out of this world, but you can enjoy yourself here. I have no major complaints.
I came to this place a week ago the tacos were great very stuffed :) & the people were so polite and welcoming would deff go back !!
Good food and great drinks for good prices. Really cute place and nice servers.
I use to be a regular in picante back then and i stop goin for a year or 2 and today i order food from picant the skirt stake tasted rotten and nasty and my girl order a california kesadilla and her guacamole tasted bad that she threw up never again coming to this spot worst food ever
The bartender tonight (Reba) was very accommodating to my girlfriend, daughter, and I. I dont ever sit at the bar so this was a pleasant surprise.
All I have to say is this: I found out about this place from a humble street vendor on 175th. He had just moved from Mexico City and I asked him one simple yet powerful question, where do you go to get Mexican food that reminds you of home?... it was that question that brought me to Picantes.
Good food, friendly service. Noisy. So dark inside that its difficult to see the text in the menu.
The food was nice and generous. Good value for money in a nice atmosphere.
The best cold beer ever, the food its great and 100% Mexican, dont miss it!
Drinks are all right and the food portions have literally cut down by half since new owners took over 🙃
Everything was good, the service good and I definitely loved the drinks
Excellent service, very good food, the selection of liquors is super
I was first here a few years ago and have been back a small handful of times, I dont think I will be coming back though. The service has just not been good lately and the food isnt great enough to keep me coming back. Its tasty dont get me wrong, but the last consecutive times here have just not been worth it when theres other options in this price range. I went here because its nearby, but thats not worth it imo anymore. No one offered to seat me when I walked in and waited a couple of minutes... Just the last straw for me. Still really good food, not gonna lie
I won’t be going back. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU PAY! Food was fine, drinks were relatively good, but feels like this place is trying to steal your money. I went during Happy Hour, but they don’t post what that is on the HAPPY HOUR menu. We had to ask what it Included which is most drinks, but the waitress would not tell us the actual prices of everything. Margarita were $8, $9 if you added a flavor which I was ok with. Not bad for NYC, but didn’t find that out until I got my receipt printed after I paid. When it came time to pay, it seemed like my bill was high, but there was no check to reference back to, just the credit card reader in that waitress’s hand that had the total amount. When I inserted my credit card it asked me to tip 18-22%. When I asked for my printed receipt. I got it back right as we were leaving and noticed why the bill was so high. They included a 20% tip on my bill, and then asked for an ADDITIONAL 18-22% on top of that! It was a party of 3 of us, which tip is not usually included on a small group like that. No one mentioned anything, they purposefully quickly showed me the total without and itemized check… so I ended up tipping 40% on mediocre service and food. If you go, be cautious and ask them to show you the check BEFORE you pay.
Best Ive had in NYC so far!
Food was great but there was no air conditioning when I was there on a day that was really hot, which made the time there painfully hot.
Its a nice cozy place, although a bit price, the food however can leave you wondering sometimes.
Authentic Mexican, great cocktails, and a friendly staff. Very reasonably priced
Simply the best! Food, service, location, happy hour, sangria, guacamole, chips, appetisers, etc!
Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Outdoor seating
The food is great, never lets me down.
Stopped in for a late lunch on a cold afternoon. Cozy but lively environment. Food excellent. Family went with traditional Mexican (Berrian tacos, etc.) I had the crispy chicken enchiladas. The mold sauce..one of the best Ive ever tasted. Absolutely addicting. Passed around the table and we had to get more chips for everyone to scoop and share. Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Cozy place, affordable prices, plenty of variety on the menu with flavorful selections.
Amazing place! Good food, good drinks! Love it 👌👌👌
Dark and loud atmosphere. Great Happy Hour. Great local mexican food.
I’ve eaten here in person and ordered Uber eats. Both times the food was excellent and hot upon arrival. Generous servings. Salsas add another layer of flavor. Thank you to the chef!
It was affordable and comfortable. I only met my girlfriends there to chat, so didnt eat, but the food they had ordered looked great and they seemed happy. The wait staff was accommodating.I would go back if we were in the neighborhood!
Good food, good service and reasonable price. Love it.
Nice low key neighborhood place. Good food good music
Fabiola the bartender is the hottest bartender in the city! God must love Venezuela
Great Mexican food. The atmosphere is lively with a colorful background that pleasant to the eyes. Staff is always friendly. Drinks cam better. Tocos are delicious. BUT It seems the staff are scared of the Owner which makes me concerned. PLUS, I understand that their are Mexican Restaurant but the music should cater to the customer in house.
The food was not bad but I think it was to expensive for the neighborhood
Great food, dont be fooled for the simple decoration
Always a Great time! Food, Music, People ! Always friendly!
Food was delicious however, used the delivery service through google and it was a horrible experience. It took about 1.5 hours to deliver to me, frustrating as I would have just walked to pick it up. Called the restaurant several times and they were not very helpful at all. Just had to wait and then the food finally showed up. Cold but tasty
I would suggest keeping the music to a Spanish vibe as the name is Picante . I hope the owner can cover up the cords that are hanging openly around the walls. Other than that the food and drinks are great.
One of the best fish tacos I have had.
Solid Mexican food, nice ambiance, helpful staff.Great chimichangasGreat margaritas
Love picante! Got their picante burger, it was good.
Glad to see the change over from previous years very polite and friendly
The food came quick. It was pretty good!
Very flavorful, birria tacos and chimichangas were so yummy. They make a great margarita too
Good vibes. Not sure if this is always the case since we went here for Cinco de Mayo, but they had a youth mariachi group perform for us and they were great. Service was a bit disorganized but again it couldve been the stress of Cinco de Mayo. Tacos were pretty tasty. Guacamole was decent. Frozen tamarind margaritas were good for being affordable, perhaps on the sweet side but good.
Everything here has always been perfect. The chips are perfect the salsa perfect. If you like authentic OR Tex-Mex this is the only place you need in Harlem. Staff are always very friendly too. You can trust perfection from everything on the menu. Be sure to have a Mexican coffee which is great.
Great food and very friendly staff
Super sweet margaritas. Delicious food. The tacos are amazing!!! All of the servers and bartenders are so friendly and attentive!
Sweet staff, colourful ambience, great margarita, life-changing chimichanga
I love their food. The chimichangas are so good.
Iove mexican food, prices are good, tastes amazing.
Fantastic little Mexican place with amazing food, drinks and service.
This restaurant has exceeded my expectations. If your looking for a place with great food, excellent drinks and a great atmosphere I recommend you check it out. Drinks are made with fresh Ingredients and the food is fresh.
The only thing decent were the Birria tacos. My wifes fajitas were tough, dried out, and barely any seasoning. Honestly this place is not real Mexican food or a Mexican restaurant. No complimentary chips and salsa. This place is really for young people who are just trying to grab a bite before clubbing.
Food was amazing, best lemonade Ive had in a very long time. And the staff were so so nice and the service was fast.
The food was amazing! They make the guac from scratch and the passion fruit margarita was superb! 👌🔥
Its a small cozy place that offers one of the best authentic Mexican foods in the area. I love their guacamole and most of their foods. Its very popular place with City College students and Columbia. The prices are reasonable and the staff are very nice and polite. Overall the place is great.
Great atmosphere and quick service. Definitely should check it out. Also great for groups. Last time I went we got a pitcher of margarita and another of sangria. An amazing place to spend an evening with a great group.
Everything me and the misses had was amazing.
Local Mexican restaurant with buckets of beers and steak quesadillas I usually choose to have. Frozen strawberry margarita was good and now discontinued. Hopefully its coming back in the drink menu soon. Will check it out again by B4 summer ends. Outdoor sittings and neighborhood hang out.
Drink are strong and the tacos are pretty good
Service was horrendous and food was mediocre at best.
Authentic Mexican tacos, chips, and salsa. Quiet during lunch on a Saturday. They serve alcohol if youre so inclined and have a full bar. Recommended!
Really good tacos and excellent cocktails. Cold beers too
Service was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and friendly! We all enjoyed our meals. Chicken enchiladas, chicken quesadillas, one other chicken dish that we were not familiar with, were all excellent!
One of my favorite Mexican spots.. I usually get fiesta skirt steak with tostones and guacamole.. (my favorite) This food is fresh.. Friendly service.. Nice vibe..
Excellent authentic Mexican food. Very slow service the night we went knocks off a star. (How long does it take to make taco?)
They brought us to a standing table after already waiting 20mins telling us that we would be seated soon so we could order drinks while we waited. After 30mins of waiting for drinks and a table we were finally seated infront of a speaker giving me the biggest headache of my life. We only had a corona and a cocktail and immediately left. Highly disappointed. I understand it was 5 de Mayo but the treatment was horrible. No sense of hospitality. They were only concerned with tables of 4 or more. Although we (2 people) would have spent over more than a table of 6 with drinks and food. Not worth the time wasted watching people getting seated before us. Sad time waste of time. I hope they get it together before over selling their place.
Nice vibe and cool bar!! Food is quick and good must try in this area!!! Birria Tacos and Flautas are my favorites now!!!
Last night there was live music playing well past 1 AM and once again the back area of the neighborhood buildings were subjected to this very loud and disruptive noise. I ask you once more to please lower your volume and let the residents of the neighborhood get some rest. Thank you in advance.
Good food drinks and good atmosphere
I ordered the Gran Burrito, which was fine, huge but not great. Even though there was Happy Hour, they charged us two separate beers. We told them about it and the waitress said Oh and did nothing.
I had been eating there since it just opening, and this is the only restaurant that I used, for years, because I have food intolerancy ! Also the personal are very polite and respecfull!
Its a cute Mexican food spot. Its not a huge place, so dont expect to go in with a 10 person group and expect to be seated fast. I love their Chimmicongas and Margaritas. I do wish they had more flavors of Margaritas but hey we cant have it all. They do have bar seating so that is a plus. Everyone seemed really nice
They fooled me with the online menu. I came to the store because online price was a reasonable $7. Only they charged me 2x the price at the restaurant. I had to pay $14 for a damn burrito. And management refused to accommodate me. Theyre Crooks!
This restaurant give me always a hard time when I order food and they deliver it!!When you call to ask for something they are so rude and mad all the time!! Definitely I won’t order anymore!!Plus health department give them a B ! That means they don’t follow the standards of sanitation!!Good food but really bad service
Picante is a beautiful place in the neighborhood to go and visit you will enjoy the drinks and the food
Had the chicken taquitos. They were ok as far as taste and flavor. It was my first time eating from them and it might be my last. My stomach is gurgling as I type this. I eat Mexican all the time, and dont have a weak constitution. Something wasnt prepared properly. I hope I dont get too sick. Buyer beware.
Great place, the service is among the best in Manhattan, the personell very gentle. I recommend Picante. Restaurant to enjoy with the family.
The dominican guy putting music DJ, He is great
Horrible tacos Birria. I went early in the afternoon and it was empty my order took around 2 mins and it was horrible. Not great Birria. They didnt even use beef or lamb. My order was to go so when I got to my destination and opened it I was so disappointed. I dont recommend.
The drinks are good but the service is horrible. The servers ignore you while calling for them.
Two small quesadillas with little cheese where8 dollarss for something so easy I could have done my self, asked for cheese the young female that worked here told me she would come back with it never showed up we werent allowed to choose our own meat on the special for the tacos one burrito is 18 dollars when they really cost 8 everywhere,we ask for the free chips and salsa as the free appetizer that every single restaurant gives yet she said its not free and they no longer do it,salsa was not spicy at all.We we are still here waiting on our receipt and she know that but does not come to charge.Everything is double the price make sure you dont come here if you want to get full or want good food and want to pay a decent price. They need a good waitress like me.we still went in there asked to be charged she keept Ignoring and seeing other people.
$3 can of coke, tortilla chips and small potion of guacamole, $12 flautas with lettuce on top soggy wa da fa!!!🤪🥴🤣..should of just got soft tacos$9 should have just gone to toco bell..what gets me just because you have alot of white customer going there they raise the prices and they make mex food taste not likre real mex food totilla chips are apitizetizers guacamole ok but not no $12 no tip for delivery order it already in when they total it. Lesson learned dont gi there😂🤣 rather sti k to real mex food in Bronx 149 and morris anf with my dominican and jaimaican food
The taco is delicious and the strawberry margarita. As for the service it was terrible and the waitress didnt speak English. Why would you have someone serving people that doesnt speak English when everyone doesnt speak Spanish.
I went for lunch, it was empty at the time, the waitress was friendly. We sat on a high chair table. The ambient was calm. We ordered guac and chips, I had sprimp with mash potatoes. Drinks were really good. Prices are fair.
Reliable place, love the food. The atmosphere and some sketchy patrons are not really my vibe.
Great Mexican food and low prices.
Huarache and steak tacos are the best .Have been coming here for years.
The ladies are sweet but the service is not great. The lady that was taking care of my table was not attentive. She wondered to much around and forgot to give us the bill. And as for the food, its not bad but its not great either.
Had brunch here after spending a few hours in the morning at Riverbank park. We shared a pitcher of margaritas and thought it was a good size and did not taste watered down. The waitress also asked us if it was strong enough. Tacos were about $3 and my dining companions enjoyed it. I had a Torta and thought it was ok. Would return again to try other things.
Remember the food here is HUGE! Everything here is amazing. I like the Tacos at night. Try the veggie taco plus shrimp. It is the best. The burritos are great, too. Yay, huge! Waiters and waitresses here understand not bothering you when you want to catch up with your friends. No excessive how is everything or is everything ok every 15 minutes here. But I like this place, because when you really need anything, they will get to you very quickly.
Great just bad service was horrible food great and drinks too
They have some pretty good drink specials. Its really dark in there though. The music can be pretty loud as well.
The tostones rellenos de camarones... never disappoints. Tried the Buffalo wings last time and they were great too. Small place but good food and drinks.
Worst food ever honestly I order some chicken nachos found just 3 pieces of chicken unbelievable
The food was amazing. I recommend the nachos!
Very disappointing. The chips tasted like cardboard. When me and my girlfriend told our waitress she said thats all we have. She wasnt very helpful. The tacos and burritos left a lot to be desired. Defnitely WONT be back.
Best happy hour and the tacos are awesome 👌
Service was adequate, but the saving grace for this spot is the intimate dance space.
Great service. Great food. Great drinks.
Food is always good and staff is always friendly. Great spot for food and drinks.
I like the frozen margaritas in this place, the food is good as well, but the drinks are amazing for a regular restaurant.
Great food, okay service
Their Burrito Gigante is a good option if you still trying to decide. But the arrival time for the food is quite a long one.
Horrible customer service! Weak drinks. Not an good 1st time experience!
Pretty solid mexican food. The service is very good, and the food is delicious. The chips we got were a bit stale, however, and the tostones I ordered were a bit on the ripe side, which is a turn off for me.
Love love love this place great food service and music.
Awesome atmosphere. Great food. Ok service.
These tacos were the worst that I have ever had in my life. The service was terrible as well. Never again!!!
I had a very nice place to have a very cold beer.Great service!
My local mexican food & bar!!! Affordable & delicious.
Very good mexican food for a great price
Limited food choices, waitress took forever when there were only a few people. I saw the family behind us leave because they waited 20 minutes and were never served, not even a glass of water. Waitress miss placed our $20 and over charged us. I havent been there in a year and now I remember why.
Have always told people about this place and gave them new customers but over time, their menu has become smaller, more expensive and it feels like the portions have become smaller for what they offer now as a price. Food is still great but they were much better a few years ago.
This hidden Gem is located in Harlem on Broadway and 139th it has outside seating a bar and best authentic Mexican food.Service is off the charts.
Always a good time..well known for awesome burrito plus drinks really good.
Food as delicious looking as their waitresses
Loved their tostadas and chimmies
Needs a little improvement but I love their Frozen Margaritas.
Great little place the staff is nice amd the food is good too
The steak and chaloopa were awesome
A little pricey, but good food. Tortillas are not free
