Nice venue. Great atmosphere and staff are nice. Tables are in excellent condition. So I checked out a few places, but this place was the only one I could find nearby in lower manhattan that had diamond tables. So for the most part this is a good quality pool hall. The reason for only 3 stars is because of the value you get for the price. It is $16/hour for each person, which is just nuts in my opinion. I know the cost of playing pool in Manhattan is pricey, but this is ridiculous.I went to a world famous pool hall not too far away, but they had a waiting list, so I ended up here. The hourly rate to play is per table, not per person!
Clean environment, well spaced out tables and noce ambiance. Great price for the location. Some cues were broken but you can find decent ones
Great atmosphere. Plenty pool tables. Open till very late. The food is great and cocktails were amazing. At least my Moscow Mule was.Service is good.A little expensive, but definitely good to go with a group of friends. The music is great!
I came here with a good friend of mine to catch up, we landed here and had a good time! If you are looking for billiards with a cool relaxing vibe to shoot some pool, have a drink or two, and enjoy your company, then this is the spot for you. Not pricey at all, clean place, the staff there are polite and helpful and you will have yourself a good time!
It’s a good bar if you want to just chill with friends, play pool, have some drinks and watch sports. The music selection could be better here.
Very fun place but its always extremely crowded and people tend to not pay attention to who is behind them and might hit you when shooting. Food is very fancy
Yummy food guac was a bit salty. The Cuban pulled pork was good.Def recommend this place.Going to the bathroom is mad dark :(
Had a great time, the place is well air conditioned so it really saved us from the 95° Weather. Theres a good array of options in the menu, I had milk and cookies out of curiosity and it was pretty good. I definitely see myself going back in the future.
I stumbled onto Society Billiards + Bar when Amsterdam Billiards was packed one night. Not wanting to wait over an hour for a table to open, they recommended Society Billiards. Located not far from Union Sq, Society Billiards + Bar is an underground pool and bar lounge. They also offer a ping pong table towards the back, there’s also an area for shooting darts, and beer pong. The atmosphere is low light, laid back, extremely chill. Music playlist is a good mix of old and new, nothing overly vulgar. Noise level is perfect, and not overbearing so we can actually hear each other in conversation. They keep the pool table and sticks in great condition. They also offer a light bites along with a good selection of spirits. In need of a mellow night out- Society Billiards should be on your list. It’s an easy place to get to, about a three minute walk from Union Sq subway station. It makes for a great date spot, happy hour go to, or hang out. Good music, food, beer, a friendly staff, and doorman. You cannot go wrong with this place. The prices are reasonable-ish, it’s not crazy insane as some other pool halls. They also have happy hour specials. Most of all it is not pretentious. Happy Shooting!
Its been awhile since I shot some stick. Went on a Sunday evening and it was relatively busy. Tables were well taken care of. Sticks were pretty straight. Servers were attentive. Great experience to be back at a pool hall.
Enjoyed a couple of afternoon hours there. Really nice atmosphere and quality tables. Nice classy staff too. Highly recommend giving it a visit.9/6/24 IM BACK again looks great and run very nice. Many 9ft pro-am diamond green tables. Leagues started at 7 so left at 6:30. Nice clients that I met
Pool tables are nice. It is spacious. It is pricey and poor quality food though. My friend ordered the chicken sliders and the tiny amount of chicken on them was a joke. They should have been labeled veggie sliders.
Great place with lots of pool table, darts, ping pong tables and even beer pong tables! The staff is very friendly, beers are pretty cheap and its not too crowdy. Great place to hang out between late afternoon and dinner or after dinner with hour friends
This place will nickel-and-dime you for everything. The salads have almost no chicken/bacon anymore (they used to be good) Four small cookies? $14. Dipping sauce with a $25 sandwich + fries--fries which come with the dipping sauce on their own--costs extra. Carbonated WATER? $2.I used to eat here every week. Not worth it anymore. Penny wise, pound foolish.
Great location. Staffs are amazing.Good selections of beer and liquors.Reasonably priced.Sunday is the restaurant industries night. So free games and 40% off for drinks.
Arrived here around 1AM looking for a restroom and to buy drinks to compensate for their services. My girlfriend did not feel safe here. She felt pressured to order more than she was comfortable with. I would not recommend for any marginalized group.
I know it’s Manhattan but the price to play pool is kind of outrageous. My cocktail was tasty though!
Be aware of this place! They charge 20% gratuity on top of booking the place. So a two hour booking is $400, comes out to $531!!!!Then, if you drink or eat, they charge another 20% on top of that! Questions about what the first 20% were for (if not for service) remained unanswered. And then, they charge another 4% each for CC use. So you end up with 48% gratuity!!! Insane! We used our physical card, gave it to the waiter—and a few days later we had a fraud charge of $1369 on it. I’m not saying it was them, but this place was the only place we used a physical card for a long time.
Save your money and take it somewhere else. I went in with a group of 6 people and we got charged $246 dollars for one hour. We had a couple of drinks but for a shot to cost around 16 dollars when its green tea with a splash of liquor is outrageous. We ordered all our drinks at the bar, so we didnt receive any service but still wanted to leave a 42 tip. The guy helping my friend out tried to get an extra $10 by lying to my drunk friend about the total charge after she wanted to include a 42 tip. We plaid a total of 288.22 cents for ONE HOUR. Never again. The drinks are so not worth the money, and neither is the service.
Absolutely terrible place.Came in with a party of 9 and was told that if we don’t close the tab within hour we’ll be charged next hour. Fair. After 40min we decided to give the balls back and close the tab. We’re told by a lady that she saw 13 people at the table and that’s what she’ll charge us. We argued that it’s only 9 so she settled for 9. Right after she comes by the table and tells us that we have to leave while we paid for a whole hour (we still had 20min to stay in the seats). We refused and eventually the bouncer comes by to kick us out. While leaving we wanted to close our tab at the bar where we learnt that they lost our credit card.Beautiful place but we paid $150 for 40 min of pooling and were treated like trash.Would never bring a party to this place again. Shame.
The security is very friendly and he has to do his job, the one at the cash register charged me 112 doalres for an hour 1:25 minutes at the table we were 3 person the waitress asked for 3 drinks she brought me the bill along with the drinks and I didnt see her again anymore, terrible service, my friend and I will not return to that place
Great spot in Manhattan, people are decent, prices a little high, great place to kill an hour or two.
The place is decent for a hangout and billiards. However their reservation system does not make sense. The whole point of a reservation time is to reserve a table for that time. Why make a reservation for a time and then be told “you’re on the top of the list” and then make the customer wait 45min to an hour. Btw they had told us the wait was only gonna be 15-20 min and every time we came back to ask how much longer they kept adding 15 min.
This was my 1st place to visit while in town to play pool and I can honestly say I am in LOVE. The pool tables are amazingly kept looking sharp. Once a group of guests leave, they brush the felt and polish the sides. The Chicken Tacos were FABULOUS and drinks were good. Only thing it can be pricey but I had the most amazing time. I went back one more time before leaving town and had another great time. I will make it a definite stop each time I visit NY for sure.
I took a star away because its expensive. You cant visit regularly.Id like to visit again, but it is definitely not budget activity friendly. The bar tender seemed stressed or annoyed. The female bathroom was dirty and unstocked.
Nice place to chill out at. The food could be better. Clean and well kept definitely a low key gem.
This seems like a great place to bring friends to kick it and unwind over some Pool and bar games, which is exactly what my friend did for his birthday. There are plenty of tables, so you shouldnt have too much trouble booking (id still recommend calling a few days in advance tho).Service was great, our host kept good watch on our party to make sure everyone had what they wanted. There were about 15 of us so he did a great job. We had a whole corner of the place to us for a good 2 hours, which was plenty of time foe everyone to get a game in, have a few brews, and mingle and meet new peeps before heading to even more bars. Bathroom is what keeps it from a full 5, verrrryyyy small and only 1 in this massive place.
Place was decent, legit. The drinks were good. I got the 50/50 margarita shown in the picture. It was crowded ish. All tables are very close to each other as you can see, you’re bound to bump with the other table … music was decent but definitely out of date. Our server was cool and chill. We got our first and second drink under 15min. Overall it was alright for my first time going to a billiard with friends. Only con is that in the beginning I saw that the servers weren’t on the same page, 3 had to ask our friend if they had their card for the tab and they did… so yeah they are a little unorganized and just need to get it together and communicate within themselves.
Best pool hall in NYC with a colorful cast of characters. Dark and moody environment with a huge selection of tables, rocking indie tunes, and the best milk and cookies to satiate your post pool appetite. Staff is friendly but prices are definitely NYC prices. You pay for quality here. Forget about Amsterdam and come here instead!
The bartender was so rude to me that I finished my one drink, canceled my reservation to play pool and immediately looked up the nearest bar with a pool table. Walked 8 minutes to Barfly and had a much better experience. If you get the long haired bartender at Society expect him to give you someone elses credit card (and yours, which makes no sense?) and then be rude to you when you try to give the extra card back.
I went here on October 25th for my husbands birthday and we had an amazing time! Since we had a large party we got a table that was kinda tucked away so we had like our own area for our group which we appreciated. The table was clean and the spacing around it made it easy to play. The drinks were good and the food. They give you good portions, especially for sharing. The staff was friendly and helpful. We just had such a great time. I will definitely be back!
Came here for a work event, so we had the back section to ourselves. Im glad I didnt pay, so I could just play without worrying about the subpar food and drinks. Our buffet spread included pulled pork sliders, chicken tacos, cheese pizza, and spanakopita. Only the pizza was halfway decent, even by sports bar standards. The rest kind of tasted like heated up cardboard. Blech!
The pool tables are very well maintained. Everything is always clean and in excellent working order. A very very good pool hall.Order drinks, normal NYC prices.Do not order food. It is absurdly expensive. Walk up to 23rd, a dozen options less than 5 minutes in either direction.
One of the last remaining tru billiards halls in nyc
I love this place, the service is amazing and the food great, if you want to spend a good night this place is ideal
Pool tables are well maintained, and Ive not had a bad house cue yet.Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance is pleasant and not too noisy. Music selection is good.Bar offerings run the gamut of average to premium and priced accordingly. Food is tasty. Not an inexpensive outing.
My boyfriend and I have become regulars here. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The music is generally fun and upbeat. The one slight downside is that its pretty loud, but its not so bad that you cant talk to people next to you, you just cant really talk across the table. Overall, we love it here and will continue to come back over and over.
Service was slow, we had to go to the bar to order until we finally got a waiter. Drinks were good but expensive but the real killer is they charge per hour PER PERSON for the table. A total ripoff. We were shocked when we got our bill. You would think hourly for the table and they would be happy with more people eating and drinking. Last time for me!!
You don’t need to be stonewall Jackson to know you don’t wanna play pool in a damned basement!Overpriced drinks, terrible service (you’ll wait 20-30 minutes for a drink), music is always too loud, terrible song/playlist selection, can never get sports games you want on the TV, and management is not pleasant to deal with in general. FYI - They have trouble closing out tabs and you may get charged twice; and they charge a fee for using a credit card (without telling you and without asking if you would like to pay cash).Tables are not maintained well (haven’t been re-felted in years), not enough room between tables and sitting area, and staff will walk into your shots, knock your cue down, or ask you for a drink/interrupt you in the middle of your shot (or they walk by without asking if you want a drink when you’re not playing, crazy how that happens; again even if they ask it will be a good 15 minutes before they come back with your can of beer. Not a good pool hall, middle management staff can be pretentious and snobby. Go to Amsterdam Billiards, better experience all around. Society is for tourists that don’t know any better.
Good pool hall, lots of tables but they price per person rather than per table. So for 4 people it’s $64 per hour. Assuming they do this to stop people crowding the table, but from a social perspective its not great. They have dart boards out the back which are $10 per hour (not per person). Got the potatoes there, very garlicky but chipotle mayo was good. Food menu was a bit random.
Great tables, ambiance, drinks and service. Food is mid, hence the 4 stars. Best dish are the chicken-avocado sliders
A bit expensive at 16 per hr/per person but its the same as any other billiards hall in the city so I cant say much. The atmosphere is upscale but chill. Loved the decor too. They clean the cues and balls between each use so their sanitation is 👌You need a reservation first and they hold that persons card so just keep that in mind.8/10 would come again
First time trying out this spot, pretty cool place. Service could be better. Didn’t see the point in IDs and vaccination cards being checked by separate folks. Pool table was great and drinks were ok. Vibe was nice and even had good music. I plan to revisit this spot.
Very nice place. Cool atmosphere. Had the feel or a lounge but nowhere near as scummy or stressful. Wait staff was incredibly kind! Waited about 15 seconds for a table on a Tuesday night, and was handed a waiter at our table within minutes. Very relaxing place to hang out, and cost was about $10 per hour per person for a party of two...
I went here for a work happy hour. They have very good tasting food and vegan sliders. They also have darts, beer pong, and pool. Id recommend for an interactive outing.
It has a great location because its easily reachable by most trains. Looks clean and well kept on the inside, tables are leveled and the felts on them are changed when needed. The food menu might leave you looking for more. The staff there is great.
The cleanliness of the tables speak for themselves. Very well maintained tables and balls cleaned regularly. Great to come solo or with a few friends. I was visiting from Fla, so prices were higher than what I was used to, but I expected this in NYC. Visited for a wknd and it became my regular spot for those 3 days
Just plain awesome! Awesome vibe, good tables, and solid food!
This is a cool place - walk down the dark stairwell into a hidden location. I came here for some delicious drinks with coworkers and didnt play any pool. Trendy, square ice cubes kept the drinks adequately cool, delicious sliders as an app and we were a happy crew. The walk to the bathroom down a long hallway was odd but thats about it. Awesome spot, Ill be back.
Smooth spot, but watch out for a guy named Matt. He’s not cognizant of the area, times, or the experience. Thats my word
Cool spot to play pool whereas the Manual Dart board should be Electronic to help keep score in my opinion.
Excellent spot and tables! Also highly recommend for lessons or cue re-tipping, check out Jon Smith.
Awful service by the bartender last night. Stood at the front of the bar for 15 minutes to close out my tab. Instead of the bartender helping, a waitress volunteered to assist, but my credit card was missing in the tab book when she brought it. Had to go to the front desk to ask where to find my credit card. Front desk did not have it. It was finally returned to me by the bartender later. Usually a bar tab and credit card come together. Theres a lack of coordination between the front desk and bartender.
Had a very annoying experience. They claimed my card wasnt working so my friend used her card instead. It turns out my card actually worked so they double charged us for the same thing. I had to send a bunch of paperwork and had to call them several times (where I was put on hold for a long time) to get a refund. They also never gave my ID back so I had to go back to get it. Very inconvenient
There was an employee here who tried to fight a guy for asking to use the restroom before it was cleaned. There was no disrespect in the request, just a heated employee who randomly made it a race thing and then had to be restrained. It was completely shocking and disheartening to hear, especially since management ended up trying to brush it off as no big deal. Not the safest place imo
Went for the first time on a Saturday night. Loved the entrance how it leads to the basement. Alot of pool tables which are kept in good condition. The music was good as well as the vibe. Drinks are a bit pricey but you would expect that especially from the area. The food was good no complaints. I would deff return for a good time with friends or even on a date.
Great tables and good rates. Also got the bacon cheeseburger and tots and they were cooked perfectly
Went with a group of 7 friends since I heard such great things about this place. Only myself and one other friend were actually ordering drinks but after ordering my second drink the waitress actually refused to serve us any more until we ordered water for the group. I asked to speak to a manager because I found the waitresses demand to be incredibly rude when we had just started ordering drinks. The manager was of no help and seemed like she just didnt know how to handle customer complaints. My friends and I were all very dissappointed with this place and will not be going again.
Wait staff was pleasant and made sure to check in with us frequently but bouncer was harassing two girls in our group about masks even when they were clearly eating. One person in our group mentioned this to him and he got upset and had to be moved away by a manager. Definitely will not be going back here.
1st time here and I felt so welcomed!!!!! Alana was amazing
Waited 4 weeks to post this review in hopes that the team would take action on the issue but unfortunately not. I’ve been here over 25 times back in 2016-2019 and went recently only to be yelled at, verbally threatened, charged at (multiple times) by one of their employees after he made insulting and inappropriate remarks of bigotry. Bouncer (Ray) was the only reasonable person in this encounter as the hostess condoned the situation and the general manager failed to follow up and did not watch the video footage of the employee charging at me multiple times.Cannot support a place that condones hateful and potentially violent activity of its employees. Disappointing as it had been a favorite place of mine. Never thought I’d have to leave this review in my life.Stay safe and stay away from Society.
Really nice tables, some of the best Ive ever used. It was kind of expensive, but thats not surprising in Manhattan. Felt a little awkward that all the staff was really young. Good beer selection though. And they have leagues most days of the week which Id love to join if I could.
The environment itself was pretty well. The cons to this place were as follows: the wait time (almost 45 minutes waiting), drinks and food was a little expensive, the charging rate of the game isnt totally clear when explained by the employees & It leaves a confused haze. Other than that, this is a great place to socialize. The billiards experience was top notch and really fun. There were also other activities to do such as, darts! The staff was friendly, location is discreet and comfortable and it is overall a nice place to go splurge on drinks, have fun with friends and create new rivalries in pool.
Fantastic tables and atmosphere. - they charge per person per hour - kitchen - the absolute balls to charge 17 bucks for instant ramen
Came here on a Saturday night. Really busy took about 40 mins to get a pool table. The tables are great quality, the pool cues probably need to be updated. A lot of tips were messed up or mushrooming. They charge $16/hr per person per table. Which means 4 people = $64/hr. Highest price in the city...The food...horrible...please just eat elsewhere. They call their Grilled Cheese the Best Grilled Cheese In Fact it was the worst grilled cheese in world..Absolutely horrible sandwhich just toasted in a toaster oven with some melted cheese in the middle. They didnt even grill the bread! Someone please teach the chef how to make a grilled cheese this is sad.
Tip: ask the manager for the correct pricing. Their employees are not trained to give proper pricing. We were told one price for two different services by three different employees but ended up being charged a different quoted price (they first handed us the drinks then told us the price was different... Why couldnt you have told us BEFORE you gave us the drinks?). We explained out situation to the mangager and simply wanted to suggest that her employees needed to be more informed but she was very harsh in her wording and implied that there was a set price and we should have known (but how? We asked your employees and trusted that it was the correct pricing..honestly just wanted an appology and that they would improve so that no other customers would experience what we have experienced but instead she got defensive and rude) In total, we were forced to pay whatever they charged. Had a good vibe, but check the pricing!!
Very good ambiance!! as a novice player I personally really enjoyed it and the drinks solid too! shout out to Graves, a fantastic waitress :))
Professional pool tables along with darts and ping pong. My group came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy with a waitlist of 3 groups. We placed our name down and played darts. I was impressed to see the hall having Diamond pool tables, which are generally used in professional tournaments. The balls and tables were very fun to play on and I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to play pool. However, the drink service was a bit slow and the table rates were very pricey (they charge per hour per player!)
Great pool but agree with the other reviewers - they nickel and dime you and it gets very expensive, even just for two people. It’s a shame.
Never believe those people and wait in the line. Told us wait 20 minutes, we waited more than a hour
Had so much fun here. Girls night out here is cool if you like to drink and have a real good time. Waitress kept the drinks coming too. Had a nice corner spot to drink and eat. Would definitely go back.
Great place for league play. Basement location so cell phone connection not always great. Loud music and a lively crowd guaranteed most weekdays, especially. on weekends.Tables well maintained and compared to bars , much much better
Please see attached pictures to know why I gave just a 4 ⭐ s 🎱🌹❤️
The unassuming bar is very easy to walk right past it and not even know it. I work pretty close by and walk right past here almost every day for lunch and only realized it was here when my coworkers wanted to go here for a drink after work. They do have happy hours but until 7pm but I rarely make it in time to take advantage of it. Since I come here mostly to drink, we never really take advantage of the option to play billiards. The bartenders are usually friendly and very accommodating. I once had an old fashioned that wasnt that great and the bartender offered to remake it for free. One of the bartenders, whose name I cant remember, usually offers us tickets to special events -- like pay per view events [we come here often...] and usually sits with us after his shift is over and drink. Its a nice place but nothing that stands out.
No sure how I never went here before. The pool tables are spectacular and if you go during the day it’s well priced for what you get. I didn’t eat anything but the food smelled amazing. Def recommend for people that play league and want to practice.
My favorite pool hall in Manhattan. I’m a little biased since I play league here, but the tables are impeccable, the servers are the best and it’s a fun spot overall.
Pool tables and layout are great. Good spot for bringing a bunch of friends to play pool and watch some sports games. Pricing on pool is rather high, charges on the per person and per hour basis, so it is the biggest critique of the venue.
Been here a few times now, always fun
Really good fun venue, with more than just billiards! Darts, Beer Pong, Table Tennis plus a great bar and decent food. Very prompt service too
Nice Diamond 8 foot tables, kept clean (as well as the Aramith Pro-Cup TV balls). Pretty good rates if youre playing a league. The music is loud, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe of this upscale, underground pool hall. Although it was full, Society never felt too crowded, just a cozy atmosphere with table-side bar service and a DJ spinning late into the night. I’ll definitely be back to this gem!
If you’d like to shoot pool 🎱 and live dj, this is the place to go. And the specialty drinks are amazing. With servers to bring all your orders to the area your gaming.
Very pushy waitresses who keep asking if you want another drink every time you look up and also try to talk to you while you’re playing. How irritating is that??!! I also hate how they prorate the cost if you go over an hour without telling you. Thanks, but no thanks. This place will not be squeezing any extra money out of me.
Great place to practice solo or play with friends. Drinks are great here as well. Easily lose track of time while here. Time flies by. Overall a good time when I’m here alone or with friends
Great vibe with friendly staff
They need to put timers on the tables… they take forever with the drink, part of the scam they have… tried to charge is for 2 hours… it’s hard to keep up with the time when your drunk and having fun
Place was cool. Lots of Billiards table. We went there for darts. They only had 2 boards and the space around it was very crowded. But the boards were in good shape as were the darts.
Great spot to play pool darts and beer pong all in one. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. Drinks are also on point. If you need a good spot to play games eat and drink, this place wont disappoint.
Great place to go to!! Good selection in food and drinks. Pool tables play excellent and they have got a bunch of good players walking around as well as nice personnel.
Food great 16 an hour not bad for Manhattan had a great time vibes definitely
Really cool drinks. I love a nicely made cocktail but these were incredibly well crafted and tasted different than what Im used to (in a really good way). Plenty of pool tables so theres no going wrong at this place
Came in for drinks and a small bite. Loved the ambience and the drinks didnt disappoint. Arianna the bartender was lovely. Excellent service!
Nice place to play pool and tables seem well maintained. Food and drink was pretty pricy given the fairly low quality. Had the chicken sliders and there was virtually no chicken on them.
Really nice pool tables and ambiance. Excellent music and great for a chill time
Love this place the people the tables omg love it my favorite tables super clean they clean the table after every customer so nice rolls and I have so much fun here
Love this place wish I can afford to be here more often. Legit pricy
It’s definitely a cool place, however I ended up paying 80 Bucks playing 1 hour Billiard + 2 beers each. That’s way tooooo expensive. Shame as I would have given 5/5 if the prices were reasonable.
We had a great time. Full bar and good food. The establishment is operated well. I shall return.
This place is an absolute mess. Bad service, and expect to get kicked from your table at any time.
This place is great. Waitresses were really friendly, chicken sliders were amazing, drinks were solid.
My husband and I love this place! We come here a few times a year for date night. Its a bit pricey but its worth it to play on a nice table versus playing pool on a run-down table that you would find at a dive bar. Everyone is friendly and helpful to make sure you have a wonderful experience! We will definitely continue to come here for date nights.
Tables are ok.Prices are ridiculously high. Music is distractingly loud. Service is generally non-existent. Go here as a last resort.
If you want to play pool without velvet rope mentality go to this place. They have a league you can join. The waitresses are very nice and very hot so tip them.
Pretty nice chill vibe come early if you want to just play and drink!! Late if you want to mingle with the cool crowd!!
Cool spot with very friendly service! We rented out two pool tables for 16 people. It was about the right number since about 8 can play and 8 can hang out and drink
When there with friends. The dart are is not a safe set up. Its in a cramped spot and theres a beer pong table right next to it. The entire time we were trying to play darts we had to deal with the ball flying or rolling in our direction when meant we had to keep picking them up hand handing them back which made it annoying to playAnything thing I have to add the is a table eight between where you pay darts and a pool table so when is was not you turn you had to stand on the side of the table where the pool table was when meant you also had to watch out for pool stick. No one wants to get spanked by accident. The darts should be set up in another area where there is not a pool table right behind and a beer pong table right next to it.
If youre a Billiards or pool enthusiast this is the place to be. Beautifully kept tables, professional grade balls and nice and clean cues. Theres a few leagues that run for months. Only con is pricing, but you get what you pay for. Recommended.
Awesome place to play pool, other bar games, drink, etc. Everyone is always so friendly. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys having fun with friends.
Overpriced even for Manhattan. Service and food are decent but they really bend you over the table with the prices.
Staff is helpful and courteous as always. Plenty of pool tables and are maintained well. Good place to hangout with friends.
Chicken quesadillas was amazing, so was the black and white tacos! Really liked the atmosphere and music
Im from out of town and stopped in for a drink. The staff was great, and the bar was clean. If Im ever back in the area I would love to stop back in! I loved that vibe.
Clean, friendly, and enjoyable! Music was a bit retro and wait time was around 40 mins on a Thursday night. Overall recommended spot, especially since I eat Madison Kayser post pool!
The wait was too long, but it is a nice place. Make sure to ask continuously whether it is your turn. Otherwise you might wait for a spot for over one hour on week days…
I love this place. Its a great place to play online and drink some cocktails. The sliders are really good as well.
Good people excellent vibe
Totally more than I expectedThoroughly enjoyed playing there with my friend. Nice atmosphere
Well maintained classic pool hall featuring primarily 9ft diamond tables with several 7ft diamonds in the back.
Wait time was inaccurate. Doubled our wait time for a normal table halfway through wait. Got stuck on smaller bar table and almost paid $50 for less than an hour of pool for two people. Place is an overpriced scam with incompetent staff.
The Place Was Great Everyone is awesome The people that work there are Really Amazing.Awesome Place to hangout with friends and Enjoy a Billiards Game With a Good Drink or Two
Reasonable table and drink rates. Convenient location in Flatiron. Welcoming staff.
Great place. Long wait on a Saturday night, but the tables are excellent.
Great spot for pool, darts, and other games! Can be a bit pricy though, so do check out the cost first!
Great for “I don’t know, what you wanna do? / I don’t know, what you wanna do?” Exceptional billiards hall.
Overall pretty fun place. When I closed out my tab I saw that the bartender had put someone else’s drinks on it. It took some convincing for the manager to make it right. When he finally did he added a 20% tip onto the bill which was kind of annoying. Otherwise we had a great time!
Its not bad. Food and drinks are pricey. Big room though.
Very nice 👍 place the staff was nice.Had a good time there and I will go back again
The place its nice.. But the waiting time for the pool table sometimes its insane
Great place to play pool and darts. Excellent service. Guacamole was amazing, never would have expected that!
Drinks were good, staff was nice! Music was a bit too loud though...
Awesome space with lots to do and good appetizers.
This place has a really cool vibe as well as good service. Would 100% recommend
This is a classy place. Lots of tables so you are likely to get a table. Friendly staff.
This place is my Woman Cave with Billiards and Bar in Flatiron District of Manhattan.❤️😘🌹Psst....its between us: I am crazy with their sliders!😍😘I am a lady, but, when it comes to their sliders__I eat like a man!
Great for playing pool. Tables are awesome. Players are great. Upscale location. Pricey as well.
Nice, Clean, Friendly Staff And Patrons.
Good atmosphere. good facilities. but dont go hungry. just thirsty ;)
Fun and entertaining place. Be prepared for long wait if you are going late evening.
Security supervisor needs to be checked. Lost a group of regulars that night thanks to him. We’ve witnessed his attitude to other customers but never knew why he would treat them that way until now.Abuse of power. We’ve never had any issues with any staff or any other security. We’ve been nothing but friendly until this guy walked in already having a bad day, looking for someone to give him that only sense of power he has. What a shame. It was a cool spot while it lasted but luckily there’s other spots close by. We hope Society checks this before they continue to allow this to happen and lose more customers without knowing the real reason why.Good luck if you only take his side of his made up story that has probably changed again for the fifth time.
Very cool, low key place. Must be honest, we were a bit of a rowdy crowd; this place leans towards the more serious side of billiards.
Very cool, good music and drinks and beautiful female waitstaff.
Good tables and space. Good food and great staff.
Clean, well maintained tables. Friendly staff, especially the waitress with the blonde braids.
Excellent service, good tables, and an energetic atmosphere lend themselves to a good time.
Excellent cocktails, professionally maintained tables, and responsive service make this one of the better places to shoot pool. Great for groups, or if you’re looking for a little practice on your own.
Really expensive. At the end they tried to charge for drinks we hadn’t ordered.Avoid it at all costs
Fun place to play and enjoy a few drinks. The food is delicious.
Bartender was really nice. Clean atmosphere, lots of pool tables
Drinks were a bit pricey overall I enjoyed my time.
Great quesadillas, great Moscow mules, great atmosphere and reasonable price to rent a table.
Great atmosphere, tight security, great drinks, not over crowded
Great little underground bar
Great atmosphere for a bar. Our pool table had bad bumpers, though.
Society Billards and Bar is a great place to play pool with friends. Nice establishment with plenty of pool tables and nice bar. Friendly staff.
Definitely a great find. Perfect for drinks and pool. Very chill spot indeed.
Great atmosphere fun play place to chill play pool and have a few drinks
Giga scam. Avoid
We went with six people have some fun, enjoy some drinks and some fast food. Our server Addison made me felt as if he didn’t like us, perhaps bc we are Latinos. He took our order abruptly and when we asked why our order was taking too long he replied rude, “i will get it when it’s ready”. My husband didn’t react bc he was dealing with our food. Lastly, i went to the manager to tell him, Didn’t seem too upset and just said I’m sorry, And the end of the day I chose to spend my bd at this billard and i definitely regret it. Addision was extremely condescending and arrogant. Not welcoming or professional. I will never return nor do i recommend this place.Bye Society billiards 🎱
Best place to drink and play pool in Ktown. Chill vibes 👌
Clean place clean tables !...good music cool food and drinks
Great music, delicious drinks, just wish I was better at pool
Easily the best place to play pool in Manhattan. The tables are great and there is a good vibe in the place…Join a league! They have one on most week nights
A respectable place to shoot pool and play darts. Clean, classy, well staffed. I will return.
Tad bit pricey, but very fun and lots of space. We played darts, pool and pong.
Cool spot although I prefer Amsterdam. Good pool tables, pretty good service.
I love it so much here.Amazing pool hall and excellent service!
Tables+leagues are good but the music is way too loud during league, especially if you’re on table 9. I shouldn’t be leaving the pool hall with my ears hurting.
Had a great time at this place.
Although the place itself was fun and had a nice atmosphere, I have to give a lower rating for the dishonest and, quite frankly, scandalous pricing model. The charge to play pool is $16 per person per hour. We had a group of 4 initially, and a friend of ours joined midway. There were never more than 4 of us playing at a time (in most cases, it was only 2). Regardless of that, they charged us the full rate for 5 people without even informing us until we were paying for the bill. If that friend had simply walked in on his own, he would not have been charged to play pool, but because he stood by us, we were automatically charged the full cost for him as a player. As you would expect, any food or drink that we consumed was an additional charge. We ordered two pizzas, which each were about two small slices of an actual pizza, but which were billed at the price of a full pizza. You will not be getting value for money if you eat or drink here.Lastly, on the bill, this venue has the nerve to include a C.C. fee and a built-in 20% gratuity without any notice upfront. Then they leave space for you to leave an additional tip on the bill without notifying you or making reference to the multiple service charges that they have already charged you. I had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to understand how my charge was so high because they initially tried to bill me without providing any detail.Unfortunately, all of the above left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We were in this venue for about 90 minutes and that pleasure cost us $350. We will not be returning here, and I recommend you to stay clear unless you have more money than sense.
😔A Dope pool Hall. Waitress was dope. Food and Drinks was good. Must try!mmmppn
Nice pool table and cocktails. But music is often too loud.
Lots of tables, great staff, younger crowd. Big difference to other pool places like Amsterdam.
Great vibes - good tables and cues and reasonable rates ($16/person/hour). They have darts and beer pong too! will definitely be back.
Fun place. Great atmosphere.
Liked the place but bit expensive if you are in only to play pool
Kind of obnoxious place, tables are pretty good, manager is grumpy
Amazing pool and darts bar with good selection of drinks and food
Very nice place I just went for a drink but it’s more for locals
Had a fun time playing darts and the service there was great!
After 1 hour waiting they said another 25 minutes
Friendly, welcoming staff. Tables are well kept even at the busiest of times. Wether you’re a pro, casual or new player. Society is welcome too all. Great selection of food and drink. Tutorials Nd leagues are available year round. No complaints whatsoever.
Cool bar, decent selection - unwelcoming staff - too many bars in NYC for that kind of service
Awesome Service, High maintained, Clean, Great
Poor and rude service every single time.
Nice place, good service. A bit too expensive
Been here several occasions and always a great time. Service is quick and friendly, good atmosphere and pretty decent quality tables/cues.
Great open space. Fast service, inexpensive billiards great bar.
Still one of the best billiard hall in NYC.
Very trendy atmosphere. Looking forward to av2nd go
Absolutely loved the space. We had a spot at the back of the bar reserved and it was perfect. Our designated server was so courteous and took care of us all night. The bathrooms are small but it wasnt too crowded. The drink menu is a nice cozy size for the size of the spot. Plenty of pool tables and they can even be ping pong tables. Would recommend for groups.
Very bad don’t go there You’ll regret every second👎👎
ThE BEST BILLARDS SPOT IN NY!!!! Shout out to SOPHIA!!!! Great hospitality!
Society billiards is always a great time! Very well maintained, great service, lovely atmosphere.
Bouncer out front is a douche... but the place is pretty cool.
Great service. The drinks are weak at the bar at the bar so wait until you have a server at your table to order. Very cool atmosphere. Bring your own stick if youre a professional, not that hasto be said. Tables are balanced but its downstairs so anyone in a wheelchair would know its not easily accessible.
Great $14 per hour. $10 for darts. Fun!
Chris the security guy is really cool guy. His smile and personality is perfect to welcome customers! the bartenders though should pay attention seated at the bar because they never asked us if we like another round of drinks or what and it wasnt busy that time. Anyway We still feel going back to see Cris the security guy ;)
Loud, poor cell reception and a bit pricey if you ask me.
Great service, great atmosphere. Fairly priced! Would definitely recommend Society Billiards+Bar to anyone looking for a fun night out!
