Good vibe, nice ambience and delicious food.I’ve been to different Boqueria locations in NYC, but this is my first time at UES.We went for brunch during Xmas week, had a pleasant experience and enjoyed our food very much.Service was good, it’s definitely a reliable joint for tapas/spanish food.

We were looking for a nearby restaurant with an early dinner option, so we made a reservation at a place that opened at 5 PM. However, we arrived a bit early and didnt want to wait. Luckily, we stumbled upon this gem just down the street. It was the perfect choice! The service was impeccable, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The manager, Peter, was particularly welcoming, super polite and accommodating. Well definitely be returning soon.

It was a great place to eat and just to have a romantic dinner. Our server was great as well. We started with the appetizer which it was mushroom croquette delicious and creamy. Then we have las patatas bravas. Nice and cruncy with the amazing sauce. Then we have the amazing gambas, the shrimp and the sauce were so delicious. My boyfriend wanted more bread to eat the sauce. Then we have the flat bread with with onions and manchego cheese and goat chesse. That was so delicious. Then we have the thin noodles with squid a la tinta. That was really good definitely recommend it. Overall great place to eat and the drinks were also good.

Came here again with a friend this evening and it was terrific! If you can get in for the happy hour pricing (it goes until 6pm) its a great deal on food and drinks and I loved my seasonal sangria (it was a pineapple mezcal situation). The food was great! Obviously easily-shareable portions and a delicious medley of flavors. On the main menu, Id highly recommend the bacon-wrapped dates and the lamb skewers. That being said, theres so much more to try for the next time Im back! Highly recommend the churro split - delish!

I’ve been to the other locations, but this UES location lacks in comparison. It feels like the decor/ambiance was an afterthought and it’s not as clean as the other locations. Their high-top chairs are too narrow and we kept sliding off. The food and service were good, though. Their pitcher of rose sangria was horrible—do not get it. I highly recommend their gambas al ajillo, seafood paella and both croquette’s.

Fun atmosphere for very good Spanish tapas. Excellent vibe and energy.Highlights included the stuffed dates, Caesar salad, mushroom croquettes. Avoid the flatbreads, tasted like cardboard, and they are way skimpy on the cheese dishes giving you only 4 or 5 very thin slivers of what was tasty cheese.

This place had friendly service and fast tapas! The pork and Caesar salad were both tasty. The garlic shrimp were so good! Definitely worth trying! The steak was the highlight with a tasty green sauce on top. The patatas bravas really tied together the meal and were worth getting again. We would definitely return here.

The food was ok. The shrimp looked great, but they were served in oil with overcooked garlic. And, the bread wasnt very good. Feel like it should have been fairly easy to get the bread right. The churros were hard as a rock inside and out. Bummer because who doesnt like fried dough drenched in sugar? The service was meh. I think our waiter forgot about us. Never asked us if we wanted to order more tapas or refill our drinks. Wouldnt go back.

Chose this as impromptu place for brunch in between watching the marathon yesterday. It was madness yesterday along 2nd Avenue UES and this was a welcome relief. Was able to walk in with 3 friends and got a nice table inside. The host was pretty nice and friendly too. AC was pretty good considering the humidity yesterday. Abigail was our server and was attentive despite the place getting more packed an hour and so after. We started off with a round of drinks (Cava for me, sangria for my friends) and they were pretty refreshing. On to the tapas, we chose the marinated olives, croquetas de jamon (so good!), croquetas de setas (divine!) and the Pan con Tomate (so simple yet so delectable!). We ordered the medium Paella de Mariscos to share and after the wonderful tapas, the paella just rounded off the enjoyable experience. We ordered another round of drinks.Overall we paid $204 including the 20% gratuity. Would have been perfect 5-star except I realized we were never told that there was an unlimited sangria or mimosa offer for brunch that we could have taken advantage of. I had to find out in the brunch menu online now. Oh well. :)Overall it was still a nice experience.

Horrible service. I made a reservation at 915pm and I arrived 5 mins earlier. The host said that we only needed to wait for 2-3 mins. We weren’t seated until 935pm. Then we had to wait for another 15 mins just to have the waiter to come over and asked us what to drink.I didn’t have much expectation of the dishes, I was only expecting a very normal standard of Spanish food. At the end, the gambas al ajillo didn’t even come sizzling. It looks more like some fishes floating on the pond.

I came into town for the weekend to celebrate an extended birthday with friends who live in the city! One of my girlfriends suggested we eat here for lunch, she had been and had enjoyed it previously.WOW, it was delicious! I’m so happy we ended up here!We had lunch on Sunday around 2:30p, the place was pretty packed and had cleared out by the time we finished. The ambiance is warm lighting and cozy! The service was spectacular by everyone who helped us — in particular Maria! She was so sweet and kind, attentive and funny too! Thank you Maria — you elevated the entire experience! Now let’s talk food! Between 3 of us we ordered:- 2 sets of meatballs (they were that good!)- shishito peppers- lamb skewers- yogurt & veggies- charcuterie board with jam Serrano, manchego and another cheese (which also comes with dips, bread, bread & tomatoes, veggies & fruit - carrots, cucumbers, peppers, grapes)- the chocolate basca cheesecakeEverything was SO tasty! I have no complaints about a single dish, we left so satisfied and not overly stuffed! Hats off to the chef for the quality of ingredients! Will definitely be back and recommend a visit!

Our waiter was checking in on us as a few of the party arrived later, making sure they could get drinks and food and the manager checked on us several times and went out of his way to make sure there was a vegan tapa (cooking it so it wasn’t cross-contaminated) for one of our friends and he brought out a sorbe (vegan friendly) when the churros came out with a sparkler for the bday! Rose sangria was delicious. We had the patatas bravas, croquettes (I preferred the mushroom over the ham), roasted eggplant flatbread and the lamb meatballs were all very tasty. I wasn’t crazy about the brunch paella but the others really enjoyed it. We got the small paella size and it was just right for 3 people. The churros con chocolate was very good, but the churros were skinnier than I expected. We sat inside, but there is a small enclosed outdoor seating area with heaters.

Fantastic Spanish Tapas. Great service. Good ambience. Reservations recommended.First off, service. Their greeter, waitress (Sara) and all staff were courteous, helpful, delivered our food quickly and had great recommendations. We also met Anthony, the manager, who was very friendly and nice.On to the food. We like starting our tapas with plate of jamones and quesos. Their combo did not disappoint. Great variety of cheese and their Ibérico is very tasty. Then, patatas bravas, which is one of our favorite dishes from Spain. They did a nice job with the sauce, balancing spiciness with creamy sauce, and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. The tortilla española was good, not the best, but still will order it again. The top of the night were the dates wrapped with bacon and the boquerones. Both of these are prepared extremely well, nicely presented. Boquerones are a delight and they do know how to balance the salty taste with the citrus juice. And the dates are just fantastic: Gret balance of sweet and salt, crunchy and soft. Just food and the service are worth the top rating. They also have good cocktail options, Sangría and Cerveza Española. This is a place to share food with people you care and enjoy spending time. Their ambience inside is remanescent of Spain tapas restaurants. So invite someone, call ahead and enjoy a trip to Spain in NYC.

Easy 5 stars, even with a long wait for the bar… b/c they were fully booked and we came in on a Saturday evening with no reservation at the last minute, so that was COMPLETELY understandable. I’m only mentioning it b/c i recommend getting a reservation and so that if you go, and it’s busy, be prepared to wait, but it is worth worth it! They even brought out two tapas to thank us for waiting it out. The octopus (seared perfectly), and mushroom croquettes were his favorite, while the shishito peppers, and camarones de ajillo were my strong favorites (I needed more bread for the amazing hot garlic olive oil at the bottom). I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you have any interest in Spanish tapa style of food. The potatoes bravas were good, I like mine super crispy so I would ask for that the next time. I had cava this time, but they have some amazing sangria and cocktails.

Great ambiance. Can feel a lil loud but still highly recommended for dates. Lighting here is a thing of a beauty.Poppin tapas dishes: Boquerones, an anchovies dish, was not fishy at all but rather had nice lemony scent/taste. Maiz Rustido, their seasonal dish, had nice mixture of spicy and cheesy flavors. But Patatas Bravas was a big disappointment. The textures were inconsistent and some spots were burnt to an extent we felt unpleasant. Gambas was blend. Not enough flavor at all. Paella was above average but by then we were bloated - it takes 40+ mins for Paella to be ready.Overall, it’s worth a shot. But if you’re expecting Barcelona, you’ll only get that visually.

The service was great but the experience definitely fell short of our expectations. We visited the DC location and had a fantastic time. The food, service, and most importantly the experience was superb there. Our drinks were not tasty (our margarita tasted like lemon juice) and the food was just eh. I did not double check the time they closed (10pm) but we booked our reservation for 9:45pm. I understand, to a degree, that everyone wants to go home at the end of the night (I worked in the service industry for years so I know the feeling), but when you hear a server say the chef isnt cooking anymore and your server is more worried about getting his section cleaned up than the actual customers at their table then the experience can definitely be ruined. Sadly, we left the night very disappointed.

Bottom line: OK food, good vibes, not super well run, but could be much worse. Could do better for the priceFood: Average, nothing special: every plate we tried tasted a bit like home cooking, very one-dimensional, but not bad.Paella was below expectations: bit soggy, not quite crisped on the bottom, but still tasted burnt. Very light on the saffron. Shrimp was not fresh. Paella is treated (and priced) almost like their specialty, but executed carelesslyDrinks: not well made but seems to use high quality ingredientsService: Below averageOur waiter may have been overwhelmed by a large party and forgot to take our order, but one of the managers(?) noticed and ended up picking up the slack. I’ve been a recurring customer at Boqueria for the past two years and have seen it change a lot. The food is probably the best its been so far and the tapas have been reduced in their price. HOWEVER the plate sizes have decreased significantly. The patatas bravas are half the size that they used to be and so are the croquetas. That said, the jamon croquetas, bacon wrapped dates, and red wine sangria are amazing. The atmosphere is wondeful and the service was very efficient. Great place for dinner with friends or partner. Just left “brunch” with my 2 friends and felt compelled to review our experience, as we were all pretty dissatisfied. To summarize:- 1 star because the food was edible (we ate most of it, if only bc we arrived starving)- 1 star because my friend’s iced latte was good (even though they strangely only had 2 milk options: oat or whole)We all got the brunch tortillas as an entree. They arrived completely cold, and when I asked our server Janelly if that was intentional she literally rolled her eyes at me and said yes (though she did offer to bring it to the kitchen if I “needed it to be warm”)The patatas bravas were by far the only good food item we had (besides the olives), though I’ve had better elsewhere. As for the brunch drinks: we sampled the Bloody Mary and margarita, both made with house mix, and wouldn’t recommend either. All in all, perhaps it’s a better dinner spot, though tbh we won’t be coming back. And definitely cannot recommend it for brunch - especially with so many other nice options around.

Eh. Not impressed. I came here after reading all the great reviews and the food was nothing to rave about. Maybe I’ll try something else next time. But the food I got was not that great. Portions were very small. Patatas Bravas was completely burnt to a crisp. If you are looking for a good Spanish restaurant, I would go elsewhere. There are many other great ones in NYC.Also, seating was very very tight. At one point, I was shoulder-to-shoulder with the other guests next to me.And on top of that, service was slow.

I went there for my birthday and had a wonderful time! The staff was very friendly and kind. Everyone speaks Spanish, which is just lovely. The food was delicious! I made a reservation for 6, and all except for one of us ordered only tapas to share and that was enough for everyone. The amount of food is fair for the price. I also received free churros with melted chocolate for my birthday! The atmosphere was also really pleasant and social. We went there around 7-8 pm and there was a decent number of people, but about 3 empty tables around ours, which was reassuring and consistent with social distancing rules. Our reservation note said it was only for 2 hours, and I was concerned about that but we stayed longer than that and no one told us anything.Ill definitely go back!

OMG! I had the absolute best dinner here. We had called last minute and they said they had seating at the bar or looking over the kitchen. We went with the seating overlooking the kitchen and wow were we in for a treat. We both got the tasting menu, and they were extremely accommodating to my dietary restrictions. We were able to see the food being cooked from start to finish by the team. Then the best part of it all - the entire meal was served directly by the !! executive chef!! and explained every meal, what was in it, and the modifications that were made. I had the absolute best time here and I cannot wait to go back.

I was searching for an authentic Spanish restaurant to bring some friends that wanted to try this world famous cuisine (no easy task specially for me being of Spanish descent) and checked this place out and must say that even though it’s a very busy place and attentive service and thorough presentation don’t seem to be the seal of the house the food (tabla de quesos y embutidos, fideuá de mariscos and churro in my case)is not only delicious but capable of making you believe you’re hanging out with friends in any special tapas place in Seville or Barcelona. The wine list is carefully cured and amazingly well-priced.

We came here for the first time to celebrate my wife’s birthday and it did not disappoint! We went with “The Boqueria Experience” that way we could try a little bit of everything, and we paired it with two different types of Garnacha (we preferred the Altaroses pairing). We loved most everything, but our favorites from the experience were (1) the shrimp dish - Gambas Al Ajillo, (2) mushroom croquettes, and (3) the bread with tomatoes. The space is done really well - a good balance of trendy and upscale, albeit a bit tight. My preference would be for them to remove a few tables, that way you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of the person next to you and hearing everything that’s going on in their conversation. But apart from that, it was a great experience.Highly recommend and plan to visit again soon.

The croquettes were good but eh honestly I was so excited to try to Paella but once I put the spoonful of Paella in my mouth I was disappointed. The Paella was so salty and smelly. Yes it’s seafood but you can totally condiment it well so it doesn’t smell fishy. The Sangria wasn’t great either. You need to cut fruit up and let it soak inside the Sangria that gives it a great taste. The service is great but the food definitely not what I expected and it’s so pricey. I don’t mind spending on good food but it hurt to spend money here and the food wasn’t mouth watering. The chefs have to step it up.

Unfortunate for us. Terrible for the food. Everything weren’t good.Only wanted to try the iberico pork dish but it was a real disappointment and waste of money. I personally didn’t think it was even iberico pork. Maybe it wasn’t fresh? Or it wasn’t prepared right. It was not good. The meat was tough. It looked like flank steak. There was still runny pink liquid in the container. Really did want to try how good the pork is in NYC — this is NOT the place — I couldn’t experience that TTThe salad wasn’t good either. Just a bunch of uncut large pieces of lettuce plus some random leaves. If they were baby gem lettuce it would be totally fine but they were not. The dressing wasn’t good.

The brunch here is awesome. Everything is served family style, as it should be 😉 Service was creative with super friendly staff. All the food we had, which was based on the brunch prix fixe style where you select the options you want from each section, was delicious. The only criticism was the brunch-style paella which is a great idea, but didnt quite hit the spot for me. The main protein was pork belly which was considerably fatty, since it didnt seem rendered at all. The eggs on top make it perfect for brunch though! Oh and the pitchers of their sangria are great, they take it to the next level as opposed to the sour and sugar-laden options you get at other Spanish places.Nevertheless Id be back again, Ive been to a couple of these around town plus the one in Washington DC.

We had the unlimited sangria + tapas and entrée option which was reasonable and pretty good quality. The service was good and the server was friendly. However, because we were sitting next to another table of ladies, the server seemed to group us as one and address us all at the same time. It was a bit awkward as we were clearly not together. A menu so varied and so intriguing we had to stop ourselves from ordering one of everything. We knew going in that this was a wine bar, but since Im not so interested in straight up wine we got the Sangría. Boy oh boy was it refreshing, not to mention economical - two people can make a pitcher last throughout the meal comfortably without needing to think about ordering anything else, which helps devote attention to the excellent food options available.Speaking of, I have to say this was a rare occasion where I loved every single dish we ordered. Not only that, but we had to have heated discussions on what to order because everything looked so good we had trouble deciding. The cool thing about these dishes was that - pretty consistently - the auxiliary pieces on the plate were so tasty that they not only perfectly complimented the main item without overshadowing but could also be a standalone feature on the menu. Im talking in particular about the bread that came with the cheese plate covered in a beautiful tomato spread, the fennel served with the octopus, and the pickled shallots on toasted bread that came with the lamb skewers. This to me shows an attention to detail that exceeds the expectation of the named menu item being all there is to look forward to, and that gets an A in my book.Service was great, too. Theyre all up on their vaccination procedures, and when we first arrived they went above and beyond to find us a table in their spacious, well-occupied dining room (we wouldve honestly taken the bar too, that thing is beautiful). There are not a lot of great restaurants in the UES imo, so its good to know there is at least one excellent one we can go back to.

The food flavor is on the better side considering many of the other options in NYC. But to be honest, nothing will ever quite taste like it does in Spain. Tapas are not a fancy food, and it’s surprising how hard restaurants outside of Spain try at turning them into something they’re just not.I came to Boqueria with a friend on a Sunday during prime brunch hour. The place was packed and our server really seemed keen on trying to sell the “brunch feast” menu, which appeared to be what the majority of other patrons were doing. We chose to order à la carte and for some reason this seemed to have affected the level of service we received. We had to waive down the server for everything; there was minimal interest on behalf of the server to pay any attention to us. The food was okay except for the dessert (churro sundae) which was basically a pile of whipped cream on top of a little bit of ice cream with 4 of the most stale churros I’ve ever tasted.Would I return? Maybe with a group of friends for the feast, minus the sundae.

Seating is tight with insufficient space for people to walk between the chairs so I was jostled all meal. The kitchen is open, which meant that the back half of the restaurant was kitchen hot. Food was good, chorizo and egg brunch was tasty, but needed salt and pepper, which is not on the table. If you dont season your food, you need to put them on the table.

This was the best restaurant and brunch I have eaten in a looooong time! The food was amazing, but more importantly the service was above and beyond. The waiter Hugo was so attentive and present, despite a busy Sunday brunch. When we had a few drinks and accidentally dropped silverware, Hugo was there in a second with new sets. He was always ready to fill up our glasses for the unlimited drinks, and when he couldn’t run to our table fast enough (presumably because he was giving other tables the same amazing service), Oscar was there in his place. I will absolutely be taking anyone and everyone back to this Boqueria location. It was an unforgettable experience.

Ambience and service was great. The paellas rice was burnt which I was told was the style, so that was disappointing. They did ask what they could do to make it up to us which was nice. Would come again for drinks and tapas.

Boqueria was really nice. We did The experience with 6 people and although the bill was astronomical, it was worth it. They brought out a bunch of small plates of different foods (you dont know what youre ordering they just bring you a bunch of random food) Each plate having their unique burst of wonderful flavors from Spain. My drink was tasty too, I had to rose sangria. I forget our servers name but he was awesome and gave our picky group great recommendations and accommodated everyones likes, dislikes and food allergies. Ambiance was nice and cozy, dim setting but enough light at the table, and really good Hispanic music at a medium to low volume. They played one of my favs Fabricando Fantasias by Tito Nieves . Anyway enjoy my food pics/videos even though theyre blurry because I screenshotted them from videos, thanks bye.

The best Spanish food on UES. I’ve tried a lot of items from the menu and everything was tasty. The service was good, fast, and friendly. Interior looked really nice. The restroom was clean.
