Would give 10 stars if I could! One of the best dining experiences Ive had in NYC. Incredible food with good portions and beautiful presentation. Wait staff was super friendly and informative, loved our server Ava and the excellent attention she paid to us. Will definitely be recommending to friends and absolutely will be returning here next time Im in NY.
What sets this tapas place apart is that theres far more elbow room. You can actually hear your conversations! The food is delicious and theres a good set of cocktails. Service is a bit slow, even when the place isnt packed.
This is a great restaurant. Came here as part of a bachelor party weekend and it was a blast. The service and food was exceptional. We had a wonderful tasting menu which was arranged in advance. The restaurant is unique, a little out of the way, but definitely worth it.
This is more than a restaurant, it is a dining experience! Specializing in spanish tapas (small plates), Toro brings the flavors and excitement of spanish cuisine to Manhattans East Side. First off, the key to a great spanish tapas restaurant is fresh ingredients; of which I cant reiterate enough how fresh everything was. But what really set this place apart is how all of the little things they did made each dish come to life!I started with dates, stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon. The goat cheese added just the right amount of funk to stand up to the sweetness of the date and saltiness of the bacon. And the crisp bacon counterbalanced the creaminess of the cheese and the soft texture of the dates. Absolutely insane! The street corn stands up to any corn Ive had anywhere in the world. Again, as fresh as can be! Great char, creamy aioli, sharp cheese, and a squeeze of lime to add an acidic note to cut through the richness of the aioli and cheese. The octopus was the second best Ive ever had in my life. Octopus tends to be chewy but this was anything but. It was as tender as tender could be! It melted as soon as I took a bite. And the charred onions that were served with is had a great acidity and bite that didnt overpower the subtle octopus, but instead complimented it and enhanced the flavor.Empanadas were great; but even these were elevated with an insanely fresh and unique salsa verde unlike any Id had before. The steak was cooked perfectly, it was amazingly tender, and again, the accoutrements set it apart! From the charred onions underneath to the crazy-good chimichurri, everything on the plate enhanced the flavor of the meat and gave textural balance to the dish. Every bite was balanced and amazing. And best of all, the bone marrow. Ive eaten my fair share of bone marrow and this was by far the best Ive ever had. It was seasoned just to the edge of perfection. But the best part is that they paired it with fresh oranges and radishes and served it was amazing sourdough bread. The bread had the perfect blend of flavor, fluffiness, and crunch. The orange gave a perfect sweat counterbalance to the saltiness of the marrow and seasoning. And the radish gave a fresh pepperiness that carried the whole bite through. It was simply perfection!Once the meal was over the waiter brought over a shot (and by shot I mean about 2 and a half shots) of cherry and used the bone from the bone marrow dish as a luge to give me a shot on the house. And quite honestly the flavor profile of the cherry mixed with the meatiness of the residual bone marrow and seasoning was another trip to flavortown to end a perfect meal. All that to say, this has quickly become my favorite restaurant in all of Manhattan. Its priced well, great atmosphere, fresh, amazing, and inventive food, and a true culinary experience. This is more than just a restaurant, this truly is the flavors and culture of Spain put into a dining experience. If you havent been, go!
Kitchen bar is where you can see all the action. Staff are super friendly. Food is great. Perfect place for gathering and romantic dinner
Get some modern tapas and cocktails in a revamped warehouse with whole cured hams hanging from the ceiling. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Although the food was OK, and their fileté is a very good deal, if youre looking for genuine Spanish tapas there are better places in Chelsea. Cocktails were surprisingly good.
Great tapas! Especially love the Galician Octopus and Sashimi dish (I forgot the name). Great interior - great for romantic dinner or group dinner
Amazing every time we go. Brought my girlfriend and her cousins here the first time I met them, one of her cousins was so impressed she had her next birthday here. That speaks volumes about this place, if you come by Toro everyone will walk away with a wonderful feeling.
Great dishes, amazing paella and jamon and excellent service. I had a great experience here.
Loved this place - its a great after-work option, with a buzzing atmosphere and very cool, post-industrial decor. The small plates were delicious as well - the mac and cheese is amazing, but the artichoke salad was also delicious, and the lamb sliders were great too. Really high standards on the cocktails too - I had something delicious involving champagne.Wait staff kept bumping into me when they walked past, but that may have been in some part due to the small space at the front of the restaurant... overall Id definitely recommend it.
We had our holiday party here and it did not disappoint. Huge menu and everything was delicious. The bottle list was very well done but the glass list was lacking. We went on a Thursday night after 8pm and we were all surprised at how quiet it was.
Mother’s Day brunch, with fab food and service by Annie S.
Fun spot for tapas and paella. The food is good. The drink elections arent that creative yet theyre expensive and weak. The food is good but hard to share with more than 4 people.Nonetheless, the food is well priced and its a nice after work atmosphere.
What a fantastic meal! Great space accompanied by very good tapas. The staff was exceptional at handling my gluten allergy. I found many options to eat and they worked to make it the best experience possible. The octopus was very good and the trotter was a definite must order.
I went to this place for my birthday dinner. The ambiance was lively with good music and nice decor. However the waitress didn’t bring out the food on time. I was the birthday person and didn’t event get my food till almost 2 hrs later. The food was flavorful; but the plates we’re small and overpriced. Sangria could be better. The waitress also messed up on the bill and pocketed the cash instead of applying it to the total. I recommend trying another tapas places instead.
Beautiful ambiance and bar. Great to enjoy with friends or a date. Food was very tasty, and I would definitely go back for the paella and grilled octopus! Entrance is located on the corner and up some stairs, not too obvious, but once youre in, its a nice venue. Service was excellent!!
Probably my favorite Spanish restaurant in the city. From the food to the drinks to the service. Never once been even remotely disappointed. Good for family dinners but better for friends or work dinners. All the usual tapas fare but just on a higher level and some nice surprises along the way. If your alone or just in a pair, sit at the grill bar and chat with the cooks, they are a blast.
I had a wonderful time. The staff was attentive and placed my guest and I in a great quiet area during the busiest hour, noting that the guests near us were conversing loudly. The chef prepared a fresh octopus for us and the waiter was very knowledgeable of his wines. Just a heads up!!! if you have a food sensitivity please make sure your order doesn’t have raw items and mixed meats. I ordered the caviar qual egg with sea urchin, and got a horrible food poisoning. My guest did not, proving this was purely a personal issue and not the cleanliness/freshness of the kitchen.
Delicious, cozy, and friendly staff! Willow Road is a perfect addition to the Chelsea area. One of my favorite things about Willow is its a perfect place to have a great meal as well as just hang out at the bar with friends. They have amazing specialty drinks such as Romeo Blue and a nice selection of draft beers. If you havent checked this place out, I recommend you do so. You will not be disappointed!
Great place with some pretty unique tapas plates - the workers are all very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. The cocktail options are pretty unique and creative as well. Overall was a great experience, definitely recommend if it fits your price range.
Truely excellent dining experience. Came for a dinner with one other person on a Sunday night. We had the white Sangria and several small plates and a paella half portion.Mid range on pricing, great ambiance and very authentic cuisine. Gambia’s are a MUST.
Cocktails and wines are terrific. Food is fussy and hit or miss — burrata and orecchiette dishes are excellent, bass is very good, as are the roasted beets and fried artichokes. Heirloom tomatoes and fig dishes were strongly flavored and not our favorite. Decor is chic and beautiful. Service is friendly and accommodating. Small plates mean prices add up quick.
Space is super cool. Food was ok, not bad at all but nothing incredible. Its worth checking out if youre in the tapas mood. Service was very good in general and I shared some feedback on our waiter as he wasnt the best. Overall a good restaurant
I ordered the dates with blue cheese and ham. I found the blue cheese to be too overwhelming and therefore didnt have a good balance of salty, sweet and sour. I also ordered the tempure soft shell crab with green goddess dressing. No flavour from the crab what so ever. However, I wasnt surprised given the nature of soft shell crab - not much meat to it. The third dish I had was the bone marrow. It was fine, not great. The bread was over cooked so it lessened the melt in my mouth effect I was hoping for. I thought the slices of citrus on the marrow was a good edition though. Lastly, I ordered the chicken empanadas. I didnt like this dish. The dough was deep fried which resulted in it being chewy and flavourless. The chicken also wasnt very flavourful. In summary, the food was good but not great. Not a repeat visit restaurant for me.
Very good Spanish food in a great space. High vaulted ceilings and a split level floor plan combine with a good selection of music to create a fun and lively atmosphere on the west side highway. Diverse menu of well prepared and creative dishes.
We had a wedding here back in March. The venue and wedding package food are spectacular. Heather was amazing, accommodated every one of our requests and coordinated everything from the moment we booked to day of- she really is extremely easy to work with and aims to please. Countless phone calls, emails, checkins, agreeing to last minute changes, you name it she was awesome. Wife and I were impressed with everything- not a single hiccup all night. Excellent work by Heather and staff. Highly recommended for a unique, top quality NYC wedding with character and top service!
Delicious tapas and paella. A bit expensive thought. I guess its for special occasions.
Very good food but extremely small portions even for Tapas for the price theyre charging. Very expensive overall and no really affordable bottles of wine even the Spanish ones which are supposed to be a good value. markups are easily 200% which is insulting. Cocktails were well crafted but not killer per the Zagat review. Service was good but the place is very noisy and cramped and the music is played WAY too loud. Not Spanish music either just some weird conglomeration of contemporary pop music. Definitely not a romantic spot. But if youre desperate for some really good tasting Tapas and youre a billionare, well here it is.
Looks like a low key spot from the outside (right under the high line), but amazing atmosphere and food. Must try the fried chicken and mac and cheese. Doest get too crowded which is nice. Good place for 2-4 people.Try some of their whiskey too!
Willow Road is the perfect place to hang with friends at the bar, go on a romantic date, or just having delicious meal with a group of people. The staff is friendly and approachable while the food has an elevated approach to some of my favorite dishes. I recommend it to everyone!
Amazing!!! The food is out of this world. The Duck was my favorite, followed by the bone marrow. With that said, everything we tried was top notch. And we tried around 12 different dishes. Love, love, love Toro. Cant wait to go back.
Did was great, staff was exceptional. Bar staff was extremely slow when we arrived but as soon as we sat the server was quick to make sure we got everything quickly. Recommendations from the waiter was spot on! Highly recommended the shrimp.
Lets see...cool vibe, great staff, and the tapas are so delicious that theyre only rivaled by the variety. Great kick off the night spot and the cocktails are choice as well. Definitely a solid go to.
Everything was amazing here. Tapas style portions but rich food that was seriously satisfying. Good wines. Ultra friendly and knowledgeable staff. A new favorite of mine.
I would have liked to give this place a 4 and up, food, servers, bartenders all were great! The only complaint i have is the receptionist is not trained to use her judgment, she was courteous, but inspite of insisting, the restaurant almost empty as it had just opened, she refused a window seat for two, with the excuse that it was reserved, no one showed up till we were there, it’s evident she had been trained to say that but sometimes you should just use your judgment to make ur clients happy. It could have been done, considering it was so early.
Great place... but very loud!
Matt was excellent. Very engaging. Food and atmosphere were excellent and a decent price on a bottle of Chardonnay. Thanks for a great night celebrating my daughters first Marathon.
DEAL MEAL:smoked duck drummettes: as many as you can possibly eat.bottles of red wine: as many as you can drink.lobster and truffle paella was overrated, in that it didnt have much flavor once you finished the lobster and truffles.service was awkward at times but ultimately still friendly. better at the bar.they also played 90s hip hop which was pretty muffled by the loudness of the venue. thats not a complaint.
Fantastic food and service! For dinner, ask to sit at the front of the restaurant and not near the bar section as too dark.
Overpriced food. You need at least 3-4 dishes to fight your hunger which leads to a 100USD bill easily. The food itself is good but not outstanding and definitely not worth the price. I had a pressed sandwich which was basically 2 slices of toast with a small slice of ham and cheese and a very small not recognizable portion of truffle made in a sandwich maker for 18USD and 2 small smoked duck drumettes with a very small amount of meat for 15USD. As we were still hungry after spending over 90USD for two we went to another restaurant afterwards. Nevertheless, the interior is very nice and the staff was friendly. Just the music was too loud. Dont get me wrong, Im used to spend a lot of money for food as Im living in Zurich, but there you get much better quality for this price.
Was amazing, ordered several small dishes and not a single one disappointed.
This is a review regarding the private dinning room of Toro. The short of the matter, a very intimate space with a complex backdrop provides a more than inspiring environment for food, drink, and conversation. I am a huge fan of the tree / foliage installation on the wall. The theme was heavy on the concrete and inset lighting. Tall ceilings and an overtly weathered metallic look provided a modern vibe with a skew towards the old Meat Packing district feel. The cocktails were tasty though nothing in the realm of a destination for mixology, but solid.
I waited several weeks for this reservation and what a waste. This restaurant fails in so many ways and wins in only 1.Win: the interior of this restaurant is pretty sweet, your eyes will go all over the place.Fails:- We had a reservation and got one of the worst tables in the house right near the kitchen and right behind a high top.- Surprised that the space was packed with nothing but 23 year olds; Murray Hill type crowd. Expected an older crowd who actually cared about their quality of food.- The drink menu had employee selections that they recommend; there was a white Cellar wine which was tasteless and water downed.- Our paellas was burnt so badly most of the rice was still stuck on the pan; going back to the chefs knowing they type of crowd they were cooking to. And the server was so bling that he didnt even comment on the pan when he came over to check.- We were rushed 100%; 2 apps (beats and duck legs), 2 drinks each, 1 paellas and we were out in less than an hour.- And the music; enjoy eating dinner listening to Biggy and Jay-Z; we heard 4 Biggy songs during dinner; once again catering to the crowd. So if you are looking for a Murray Hill crowd in Meat Packing who or are getting smacked up on garbage wine and burnt food, Toro is your spot!
Cutest restaurant in NYC! Good food and great ambience
Great, fun, well prepared tapas. Lots of fun as a family meal. Id give more stars if a bottle of sangria wasnt almost $80...
You have to get the foie gras here. Simply spectacular. The veal sweetbreads were also delicious, and the smoked duck drumettes and blowfish tail were also pretty interesting. The bone marrow was unfortunately a bit too greasy when eaten on top of beef cheek and fried bread (as suggested), but the presentation was pretty wow, and they were very thoughtful about ordering the dishes for a good overall experience. All in all a surprise hit considering the anonymity of the door outside.
Stick to the tapas and grab a porrón for a good time in this upscale spot, well suited for parties and a clubby environment. Toro is a great spot to kick back and have fun, with a spacious bar area and a reasonable, yet tasteful bar list.
Very rarely do I feel the need to write a bad review as the restaurant business is one that I do not envy. I celebrated my bithday Saturday night at Toro. I arranged a pre-fix menu with an events coordinator, which was very pleasant and easy via email. I was excited when we were seated to see a special menu with my name on top highlighting the dinner choices. Our server approached the table to fill our water glasses without uttering a single phrase such as welcome to toro or even a hello. Throughout our dinner he did not once ask if everthing was tasting Ok, nor did he even as ask if we needed another drink. I complained to a manager in the middle of our meal. She did not offer a round of drinks or check on us after; Instead we got a complimentary tapas. That would have been Ok, however it was something that was already served as part of our pre-fixe. I know everyone has their off nights, but the service was simply disinterested and rude.
Overpriced and the quality is subpar. The $12 single empanada was lacking in flavor and among the worst I’ve ever had. The decor was excellent but the food underwhelmed expectations.
Great layout, perfect for group gathering, music and vibe make for upbeat night out. Food is on point, as was the cocktail list, service was friendly and attentive.
Great cocktails, and the service was very good.Food was delicious, and the staff did a great job recommending the right amount for a large group.
Some food was spot on, while some missed slightly. Overall good with great service and a cool vibe. A nice fit for younger, pretty people.
Toro is a new Spanish style tapas style restaurant in the meatpacking district that offers great ambiance and mostly memorable food. The space is lush, open and inviting from the moment you walk in. I tried two cocktails, the first with mescal and apples was ok but lacked subtlety, however the Verdad y Amor which consists of tequila, hibiscus and ginger hit the perfect balance. As for the tapas themselves, most were excellent with my favorites being the peking duck drumsticks, the salted spicy shishito peppers, perfectly seasoned garlic shrimp and the creamy cheese covered corn. Bit less enthusiastic by the tomato bread, the ham wrapped figs stuffed with blue cheese and the oddly chewy pork belly with apples and rutabagas. Be sure to round out dessert with their signature churros accompanied with an orange chocolate dipping sauce.Bottom line: A great traditional tapas restaurant in a gorgeous space but a bit overpriced and overhyped in terms of the amount and quality of the food.
Loved the vegetarian options out there, its mainly for non veg people but has good amount of vegetarian options too. I tried the corn tapas which has corn and cheese in it which was really good and also tried one potota tapas having fried potoatoes like potato weggies, the service is good, we also tried the red sangria pitcher which was good for 5 people taking 2 servings of a glass. The quantity portion is less but this is the typical at a fine dine restaurant like this, overall i liked it.
I want to say that Andrew and Taylor change my mind about toro the service is wonderful. Andrew is such a sweetheart and so attentive with the customers. My husband and I are regulars there and the service Taylor offer us is amazing. Btw the food is insane delicious we love everything on the menu. Andrew continue making those delicious new cocktails 😘I just moved to Boston and I go to the toro here is amazing as well. But can wait to go back to NYC and visit you guys thank you. Danny & katie
Food is great, its mostly tapas style but reasonable options. I sat at the bar, which gave nice view of food preparation. I highly recommend this place.
I really enjoyed the food and the vibe of this place. While I did go for a private event so I am not sure if the caliber of the food is the same for general dining.
Pricey, but so worth it! Make a reservation, listen to recommendations - knowledgeable staff! During warm weather, go for a nice walk across the street.
A fantastic tapas restaurant with a large bar area. Friendly, attentive staff & authentic Spanish food - but be warned the portions are generous!
Delicious and inventive take on tapas
Good tapas and great service. I only bring it down to a four because it is pricey for not much food, but this is a typical tapas dilemma. We loved the jamon and empanadas!
Excellent eating experience. Food was served hot and taste really good. The server was helpful and friendly.
Didnt think I could ever love another restaurant like Toro Boston. Toro NYC is right up there! Same commitment to attention to detail with respect to service, environment, fresh food presentation and pallatte pleasing, unique taste in every bite. Restaurant, plate sizes, and tables are larger - and according, prices are higher. My only question....why is my favorite Mexican Street corn OFF the cob?
Favorite Spanish restaurant in town, worth the wait. Make sure to make reservation, or you will not be able to get the delicious food there
Solid space for this event. Well hidden and private.
Nice food, very good service , but unfortunately very hard and loud hip hop music. The music playlist totally ruined our experience.
Good food, but TINY portions. Its mostly tapas so its meant for sharing, but unless your sharing with an infant chances are your gonna spend lots of $ to get full.
Heirloom Tomatoes and the Octopus dishes were both incredible. Taste of both were quite vivid and full of a variety of flavors.
The ambiance is awesome and food is fabulous - highly suggest the seafood paella, tuna tartare, and eggplant. Granted though it is a bit pricey.
Good food, good drinks, good service. A bit pricey, but expected in this area of Manhattan. Great for large groups.
I had some great food here, really nice big space with a lot of wood, also great wine.
Have been to Toro three times and it never disappoints. Expect great small plates that are full of flavor in an upscale but fun atmosphere that is good for groups (especially if you order a porron)!
Mmm....the food was delicious !!!There were diferent kinds of tapa appetizers such as potatoes, hamburgers, asparragus, shrimp, cheeses, ham wrapped dates and caviar with quail eggs.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, but the portions very small even for Tapas.
I enjoyed everything thing about this restaurant the food was highly seasoned, superb atmosphere the waiter (Matt) (I think thats his name) he did a God job he was very patient and friendly he took the time out to explain the menu and offer suggestions (which was very good ) I would recommend anyone to go here .. Good vybes food and atmosphere. ... I enjoyed every bit of the food and drink. Definitely will be coming back here .😊😊😊
Incredible tapas! The food, service and atmosphere were great! Well be coming back again!
We were in a nice back room for a group dinner. Private, and the food (fixed menu) was good
Good food and beverage
Nice food, expensive though. Octopus was good, also the paella seafood was good!
The food is just awesome! Whatever you will take is delicious! The price is good! Try the mini burger!!!
Really nice Spain food. A wonderful selection of Spainish wines. Friendly staff and great service.
Fantastic place for good food, large drinks and a fun atmosphere. Love the Boston location too!
I had one night in NY for dinner. The staff at Toro made it a truly amazing and memorable experience. Highly recommend
Absolutely delicious. Constantly changing menu. Try everything if you are able and get the duck if it’s on the menu for the day.
Great service, creative menu, and the food was amazing. Definitely will be coming back.
The drinks were good and the food was good. service could use some work but other than that, it was good!
I got at this place 11:15 and they told me after I order the drinks that the kitchen is closed. I don’t know why they say it closes at 12 but they stop serving food at 11 on Saturday? I will never go here again
Brilliant food, great atmosphere, a bit pricey, but well worth it.
Very nice ambience for a big group. Food is great and shareable. Comfortable big place.
Its very good every time I go. The drinks are expensive ($17+} but it seems like the drink prices have gone up everywhere in NYC.
Amazing food, friendly staff. The roasted corn dish is incredible.
Delicious, staff was friendly and helpful for those in my group with food allergies
Tasty. Nice industrial look. Cocktails are good. Good for groups or a date.
Neat space, out of the way location. Service and food is solid. Would go back but arent going to go out of my way to.
Very nice place, staff and food
Cocktails are fantastic and food is out of this world. Especially the tartare. Sooo gooood.
Food was amazing. Delicious wine. Fun atmosphere.
Just awesome. Decor, food, service. The location will surprise you, and so will that experience there
It was ok food for very expensive prices. The only thing that was delicious was the hamburgers.
Great vibe and atmosphere. Perfect for fun group dinners.
Delicious food and great variety. Wonderful decor and great staff
Food was amazing, place is gorgeous, service excellent
The food and music was great! Excellent service
Very nice interiors, okay food.
Good food and atmosphere. Nice for a Friday night.
Good food and atmosphere, great cocktails
Great place for drinks, wine and tapas...love the variety
Nice place serving ok food. Sincerely, I expected better
Really cool venue - amazing Spanish food and wine!
Very nice Tapas restaurant. Hip and chic place to hang out.
Fantastic paella and rib eye. Tapas terrific as well.
Fantastic food and very attentive, pleasant staff.
Great atmosphere, but pretty pricey place
Good food and service; however, trendy and loud.
Great experience at Willow! Excellent food, drinks and vibe.
Great food great atmosphere. Would come back here again
Trendy. upbeat. small plates w nice vibe. reserve in advance though!
Great food great service. I highly recommend.
Good tapas, a bit pricey but worth it!
Great tapas, I recommend shishito peppers and the octopus.
Food was ok. Service was in questioned. I personally will not be going back.
The El Camino Cocktail and Heirloom Squash is amazing.
Tasty Spanish food. Good drinks
Great food, service and atmosphere
Great brunch spot. Reservation recommended
This place was a great meal. Everything we tried was good. Highly recommend it for anyone wanting to try some variety of things. The octopus was tender and great flavor. The interior was very nice.
We hosted a group of 13 from work and the experience was fantastic. Great service and the food was delicious! One person was lactose intolerant and the Toro team was so accommodating to her needs bringing her her own version of the courses. Highly recommend this place.
Everything was 💯
Awesome tapas and decor. Will visit again!
No photos tonight, but everything was picturesque. I hosted four guests for tapas night. Absolutely phenomenal! Steak to sea to earth - deep flavors and great variety. Drinks fantastic too. Try the Pizza Night!
Maybe the best meal Ive ever eaten. The bone marrow was so good I wanted to rub it in my hair. Everything was delicious though, and the service was great. We took the suggestion of our server, and he nailed everything, right down to working around some dietary restrictions. Ill be back the next time Im in NYC!
Place is amazing! The food was beyond fantastic, the atmosphere is very nice, its any thing you want it to be when meaning attire. If you wanna dress up fancy go ahead, or just wearing jeans and a button down. Also perfectly fine.
The staff was very warm and welcoming, and the food was SO good. I recommend the bacon wrapped dates. I normally don’t like blue cheese but it went well with the other components of the dish. The paella was so flavorful that we asked the waiter to keep the dish on the table, even after everyone was stuffed to their limits. The corn was probably my favorite dish— it was crunchy and creamy. The white sangria has tequila in it, which may seem peculiar at first, but it was so delicious. If you are in the partying mood, I suggest getting a porron and asking a waiter to demonstrate it for you.
I love it!!!!!😊
A really high class Spanish place. Youre going to pay a good amount but everything we had was delicious. Definitely get the stuffed bone marrow, it was extremely hearty and flavorful.
It started with a 300 lb door that almost broke my wifes wrist as she tried to open it. We walked in and were sat immediately. For a seemingly upscale restaurant the place was pretty dark and depressing. Service was the only great part. Our server was very attentive and prompt and most of all nice.Food was poor quality. On top of that presentation was horrible. My cuttlefish / orzo with squid ink looks like they fed that to someone and had them throw it back up onto the plate. Fish was pure rubber. Tuna tartar was just a bowl full of random things found when you are scrambling to justify a price.
Truly a great, great place. Unbelievable food, staff, and wine. Dont listen to a loser named Asaf when discussing Spanish things. These types of ogres are never happy and dont know anything about fine dining in the Spanish way. They have poor manners yet dont think it is fair when they get it back worse. These people are barbarians in the truest sense- not part of decent society. Toro is hip, smart, delicious, and fun. Youll want to return and will have a great evening there. Notice this imp is the only one with poor remarks. Clear evidence the problem was this little man.
Delicious fresh and exquisitely prepared food.
Great food in a lively atmosphere.
Paella con chorizo, you don’t need to know more...
One of the greatest restaurants in the city. Amazing selections of cocktails and super yummy food. If you’re going with 2 people, I highly suggest the counter top seats where you can watch the chefs prep your food!
Always great numerous visits. BOSTON location still is much better than NYC but always creative and a great night out. Cocktails are awesome
Came with a group of 7 and we all had a great experience. Service was attentive. The vibe of the restaurant is trendy without being snobby. As for the food, the steak, paella, octopus and duck drum legs are great.
Almost everything on the menu was great! They try to accommodate allergies and the service was great. Dont forget to check out a night in Kokomo cocktail. A rather interesting and a very tasty concoction!
Wonderful array of Tapas. Incredible flavours in every dish. Went for an engagement party in a private room and the space was beautiful, service was great. Couldnt recommend more.
Nice place but unfortunately the menu on their website was very outdated and the main reason why we made the trip. We showed our very helpful waiter and his own words well thats a bit miss-leading. Bring back the old menu bc youre trying to hard with the new one
Great food great atmosphere. Loved the seating arrangement, its fun and festive. The party room is a blast. The food was delicious fast and fresh. I recommend the mex corn, sliders, shrimp and of course the drinks.
Toro is a top 5 favorite restaurant in the city for a fun night out with clients or friends. Always lively with dozens of interesting plates to try from. Ive enjoyed bringing friends here since they opened a few years back. A MUST GO for a group. Plus, Porons! !
Good tapas and fair prices. The chili shrimp are excellent and flavorful. Service was perfectly paced. Plates come out staggered, and not all at once. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked, decent sized. Staff was very attentive to drink refills and plate removals. While I did find a hair in my hanger steak, the manager was quick to apologize, remove the plate and replace it. However, no accommodation was made other than a verbal apology.
Two memorable dishes were the grilled corn and the mussels with chorizo. The rest was really good, I just cant remember everything we ordered. They have some rotating specials which are worth a try... the night I was there they ran out by 8pm.Overall I liked the atmosphere of the place and the service was very attentive.
Aww just for this tiny heavenly tasty spoon worth visiting here. People who work here are very friendly. They dont mind me just getting this heavenly spoon treat.
Nice restaurant, great food (large paella dishes!) and atmosphere in the meat packing district. Worth the walk across to 10th Ave!!!
Good Spanish Food but pricy
Great place for everything from a dinner date to a group outing. If you can sit at the chefs table, and watch how beautifully dishes come together. Skip the paella, stick to the tapas.
Spanish tapas restaurant in the end of an old warehouse. All the items are delicious. They have daring things for the daring and easy classic too.
Excellent service. Thoughtful staff. Generous place to celebrate major events. Totally recommend!
Willow Road is that rare combination of cozy neighborhood vibe, excellent and innovative food, and cool & unpretentious scene. I go there about twice a week since I work in the neighborhood, and always bump into old friends or meet interesting new people. Willow shakes things up by keeping it simple.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The tuna tartar is amazing and the seasonal paella is always delicious. Great for a date night or girls night out!
Best brisket Tacos on the planet Earth!
We came here for a company holiday party and it was an amazing experience. They were really accommodating bc we had some special dietary requests in the group. I cant say enough good things about this place. Great service 👌
Great warm ambiance. Service was excellent on a busy night. Tasty tapas!!!
Good food and attractive decor but NOISY. I asked to have the music turned down. Owner was unwilling to do so. Couldnt hear the waitress much less my companions. They just list 4 customers who will spread the word.
My friend had his wedding party here and we were very impressed with the food and the service. Great overall experience
Nice Place ! But a tad bit too loud inside.
Excellent food, though the prices are fairly high. It also wasnt the most casual place, but that can either be good or bad depending on who you are. But overall, it was an excellent place with great food!
Good food. Dishes could be larger for their prices. Great service!
The atmosphere was great felt as if I was outside on a perfect summer nite. The food was concise and inventive. The staff was awesome (except for the hovering busboy)
Great food and drinks! If you cant get reservations, walking in should be OK before 7PM as it gets super busy.I had an awesome experience sitting at the kitchen bar in the back.
Very nice tapas restaurant. When you like to share finger food, spanish tapas are up there, add a fun crowd, and Toro is a great place for an enjoyable evening out. Food is ace, service personable and prices reasonable. Recommended.
Decent tapas and drinks. Nothing particularly memorable.
The food is amazingly delightful and full of flavor, the service was perfect, and the location & decor completed the package. What a wonderful experience and what lovely menu. Making this a regular spot for special occasions and small parties.
NAILS! First and foremost I love Tapas and Ive had it all over the world. This place brings it on all aspects Food, Service, Wine and ambiance is truly amazing and absolutely must if youre in New York City
We were happy to discover this place. Inside it looks creative and mysterious. Sadly food was very uneven. Appetizers were really good, but seafood paella was greasy and extremely salty. Mixed feelings
The food was amazing and the servers were so helpful in advising us on what tapas to try. The cookie dough dessert my be my favorite dessert of all time.
Delicious Tapas and great cocktails
Okay/delicious food, but the prices and food portion sizes are pretty lame. SO expensive for the small sizes you get. And some cool dishes, but not a very relxing place to taste test lots. Felt like we were crammed into a small table with stools that were on stilts, so it wsot at all a comfortable atmosphere
For was excellent and service was lovely. The door was almost impossible too find and to open - you have to really want to go there! Not apparently many people do. Not as loud as other reviewers suggested, at least in the earlier party is the evening.
Very good. Nice ambience. A bit noisy.
Great restaurant for celebrations with a group.
I love that they bring the bottle out for you to get a taste even if youre just ordering a glass of wine. The razor clams and baby artichoke were delicious. Most other items were meh. The fig dish was bad.
Great spot. I have cravings of this place often after going once. I recommend sitting at the Chefs table and talking to them.
Straight 5. Incredible Spanish dishes and ambience. Dan in the open kitchen was knowledgeable and very cool.
Great food, but some of the portions are too small. waiters are friendly, but service is slow.
Pretty good fair, but the premises was slightly dirty when I arrived and the service could have been better. The prices are also fairly high.
Great foods the location was nice and drink ks were on point.
Perfect spot to bring your significant other. The Iberian old fashion is a must. High ceilings, loud music, great food and really good cocktails.
Really good food, but really over priced for what your getting. Im sick of this over priced attitude at places in the city. Its too small of a portion for what you pay. Yet it is good. Drinks are a total rip off.
Food is ok, tooo hot/spicy to be a Spanish place... music ambiance is terrible, doesn’t go with the place at all. I went to celebrate my husband birthday, totally disappointed and double scratched from my list to not go again. Terrible experience...
Excellent creative tapas in a pretty chic West Side location.
Celebrated my bday here. Good food, good vibe, love it!
Excellent tapas and cocktails - octopus, jamon wrapped dates, honey duck wings were all excellent. The cocktails (grapefruit cocktail and summer negroni) were well balanced.
I love Ken Oringers restaurants. This NYC is a decent homage to his original in Boston.
Great tapas and ambiance. Food is slightly expensive considering the portion is small. Overall a good experience.
Great environment but little pricey
Great restaurant for tapas and more. The ambient is very nice. Service staff is very friendly.
I came in last night with some friendly against my will. I HATE eating in this neighborhood. Meatpacking restaurants are pretentious, stuffy, and the food is never worth what you pay for it BUT.This place was warm, friendly, cozy, and DELICIOUS. We spent over 2 hours eating and drinking and laughing and the vibe was just right.A much needed addition to the neighborhood.
Nice place with good ambiance. Plates are very small. Got 5 shrimps for 20$. There was nothing else on the plate.
Thank you for the good Food...We will gladly come again
Good Spanish tapas, quite pricey but authentic.
