Mangia 23rd - Downtown Italian Food Events & Corporate Catering

This is a classic and upbeat spot for a quick and healthy nosh! My Telera (roasted sliced chicken sandwich with avocado, tomato and pepper jack cheese with just enough chipotle sauce) was DELICIOUS! The baguette is not the be trifled with- its a tough crusty chew that has serious flavor all its own! I ordered for pickup and it was VERY wel presented. Need to show you have style and class? A few extra dollars here carry the message! Enjoy!

So happy to have stumbled upon this fantastic place for some brunch before shopping in Soho. So nice to have a morning breakfast cooked that was not so pricey and easy on the go. Amazing customer service and very friendly. Staff would come here again for a quick grabbing go plus such an amazing vanilla Matcha latte..

We walked into Mangia for a quick lunch. They have multiple counters for pizza, sandwiches, hot dishes, salads and an open buffet, sold by per lbs price.I tried the buffet item, pretty took little of all the things they had like pasta, chicken, salmon, beef, shrimp. The price of the per lbs was decent. But the food was sooo unappetizing. Everything was cold. Only the pasta was sort of warm and best tasting. I am sure why they put hot dishes like beef, salmon, chicken on ice. Never going to try that again.We also sat down in the store to finish our lunch. The main center table is right in front of the entrance door. As any person who walks in, we were greeted with bone chilling NYC wind. Very uncomfortable dining experience.

Mangia is a popular place to have both breakfast, lunch and the in-between times when one desires a coffee and a sweet treat. This location is on 23rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and ideally located in the Flatiron District. The profusion of flowers at the entrance is striking and one can see it at a distance. Once inside, one is offered choices of pizza, entrees, a salad bar where your choices make up a meal. Or will it be the selection of salads and chicken or salmon that is resting on crushed ice? That is what I took and I also had a turkey meatball from the hot food section. The dessert section is always tempting and I discussed the merits of the passion fruit tart with Salomon who was smiling and kind. Did I mention that there is also a juice bar with all kinds of vegetables and fruits that can be made into drinks? Seating is ample with stand alone tables and communal tables. I know Mangia well as I have been coming here for decades. I used to go to the 57th Street location, the one on Wall Street and the one on Madison Avenue. This place is a keeper and one that I enjoy visiting.

Delicious Breakfast in an adorable setting. There is place to eat both indoor and outdoor, service was quick and courteous. The food was delicious and the fruit was sweet. This was a perfect start to the day.

CAMPO PANINORoasted asparagus, spinach, vegan mayonnaise, roasted fennel, on pizza bianca breadOrdered my fave Campo Panini on Friday 08/30 as I haven’t had it in a while. It was pitiful! Whoever made the sandwich that day needs to be reprimanded. The pizza Bianca bread was so tiny and the filling abysmal. Whereas before they put whole asparagus spears from end to end, this time it had a tbsp chopped, shriveled asparagus. A sliver of grilled spinach and fennel. Little vegan mayo. What the hell happed to this once glorious sandwich? DISAPPOINTING !!! The gluten-free tahini choc chunk cookies were excellent as always but they aren’t made in-house. They are made by another bakery and Mangia just puts them in small individual plastic cookie bags with the Mangia name on it.

Mangia is a wonderful place where you can get a variety of interesting fresh dishes. A comfortable and relaxed atmosphere along with good food.

My office regularly orders from Mangia for meetings. Excellent coffees, fresh fruit and pastries. The presentation and even the containers are nice.

This place was great to grab quick meals or delicious desserts! It was not “cozy cozy” but so chill for ppl to be alone.The 💛✨🍮crème brûlée tart was AMAZING. Nothing to complain, crunchy shell with moist and cream filling inside and a crispy burnt sugar top.Definitely go back for more sweets!

I was so excited to try this place because I heard great things. I was so disappointed by the customer service. I waited 10 minutes to order a panini meanwhile all of the staff were talking amongst themselves. I was the only customer ordering at the time and it was during my lunch break which made matters worse. The staff were too busy either being on their phones or laughing with one another. They all seen me standing there, knew that I was waiting and continued to bicker with each other. I was kind and patient when I asked a stand by chef who could order me a sandwich. The chef then called another employee to take my order. When she looked at me she continued her conversation with her fellow employees until I said something again. When I told her my order she directed me to the panini station where another employee was on his phone. He gave me eye contact and continued to be on his phone until another employee told him I was waiting to make my panini. This made me really sad because Im not the type of customer to make a scene or big deal but it was disappointing to see how far they were willing to go until something was said:(

Ordered a Herb Roasted Chicken sandwich which said it came on a Tuscan bread. Asked for it toasted.Given a wrap in a box. Not even herb roasted. Pretty bad experience when you get the wrong food that is correctly labeled.

We had an absolutely delicious breakfast at Mangia’s 23rd Street restaurant. We ordered omelets and lattes that were excellent. They have wonderful waiters and servers and I had the feeling that if we wanted to, we could have sat at our tables for hours! Their desserts looked fabulous so I’m looking forward to returning soon. I also chatted with Caterina, who was our cashier. She was delightful and offered suggestions about their delicious chocolate chip cookies! So naturally I bought one and it might have been the best cookie I’ve eaten in a long time!

Love getting food to-go or sit down here at Mangia! So many options, everything is fresh and the staff works fast to make you your meal! The sandwiches are my favorite!

If Mangia was next door I wouldnt need a kitchen. Such a wide variety of quality and well made food! I eat smaller meals more frequently so appreciate the ability to get just what I need at the time. The salads are so big they last me 2 meals making them even more of a bargain.

I went here twice in the last two days. I absolutely love the sandwich selection, some of the best warm sandwiches I have ever had. I also got an eggplant and olive pizza, absolutely perfect, not too many olives. They also have a farm to table concept and list which farms they get their foods from, I love to support businesses that try their best to be sustainable. The atmosphere and decor was brilliant, everyone was covid cautious and the establishment was clean. Definitely worth stopping.

One of my new favorite spots for when I’m in the city for work, hands down. Beautiful interior with a welcoming atmosphere, amazing food selection (I love the fresh open bar), and friendly staff who have gone above and beyond for me when I left my glasses there! I highly recommend Mangia as one of your refueling spots!

Came in to grab a quick lunch. Initially came in for the salmon salad but the line was too long at that counter. Opted for the self service counter and overall the food was good. Sure would of been better if it was made to order. But even in the 10 minutes I was there they were extremely quick with replenishing the food.

I love this place but the coffee baristas need some tweaking.HOT COFFEE SHOULD BE HOT EVEN WITH ALL ITS VARIATIONS OF ADDING CREAM, MILK, ALMOND MILK whatever. I wont even discuss the TEA.Too many non service dogs: FOOD IS BEING SERVED. THERE IS OUT DOOR SEATING.REMEMBER COVID. DOGS ARE ZOONOTIC.YOU would think the owners of the PETS would care more.

Its a pretty place and very delicious! They have fresh ingredients for salad. I come here often to get salad and I totally recommend it.

The food here was decent for lunch. The prosciutto and motz sandwich was fantastic.The Margarita Pizza was more like a cheese pizza with basil.

Finding good employees these days is by far the hardest for any establishment. Fortunately for this place they got that under control. The staff is so friendly and nice that I forgot I was in NYC 😊Food was really good as well, the chef breakfast special was great and the breakfast sandwich was real nice as well.I highly recommend stopping in here if you are in the neighborhood!

I have been going to Mangia now for the past 5 months and I have too say that it Is hands down some of the best fast casual food you can find in New York City.Either being there array of cold salads ranging from the octopus or calamari to one of the best salad stations Ive seen, this place rocks it.Also, if you yet have tried their juices, please do so.Easily the best two are either the sweet Kristine or the Green Goddess.And lastly, dont forget about their catering company. Working as an event coordinator around the corner, they never fail on the timing or the quality of the food.I highly recommend for either your own personal breakfast lunch or dinner or be it your next luncheon.

Mangias coffee is hands down the best in town. The rich, flavorful taste and the perfect temperature make for the perfect morning pick-me-up.

Every time I walk past this restaurant I have the same thought: “That was some of the worse food I’ve ever had. How do they stay in business?” The style of food is somewhere between “expired gas station sandwich” and “prison cafeteria”. Just plain gross. Avoid at all costs.

I work near the Mangia NYC on 23rd Street and one sandwich in particular I love is their spicy chicken sandwich with harissa - so moist and tasty! Their desserts and other food are yummy too. People there are friendly and its pretty there. And its not going to bust my wallet. A reliable lunch go to for me!

The pastries at Mangia are so fresh and delicious that I often stop by just to grab a quick treat. Highly recommend this place to anyone or love Italian foods!!

Lovely layout and food options. I was super excited to try their strawberry shortcake but came on a day when they didnt have it. I opted for red velvet and I was severely disappointed. The cake was moist in a wet kind of way, you could push down on it and liquid would form. Very weird.

Friendly service and very much like the casual go around pick what you like layout. Prices were good for a breakfast meal. I had the veggie omelet with turkey bacon, delish! Out of towers from The Midwest

Got one of their hot sandwich specials. Great flavor. Ambiance was cafe like and I wish I had time to sit down and enjoy it. Knocked off a star because its a bit pricy for the portion size. But planning to come back for more and to try the espresso!

Went in and got the Italian hero. the sandwich was amazing. It was a $10 hero, but it was worth it. The inside of this place is definitely a place that you need to go into knowing what you want otherwise youll have a tough choice deciding, it all looks so good.

This is hands down the best salad bar Ive been to in nyc. The quality and preperation of the food is a step or three above the rest.Dont come too late during lunch hours. They run out of the prepared dishes.They also have a juice barCons - the selection of foods is smaller than typical salad bars. Its also more expensive (though youre getting better food!).

Exhaustive variety, but really hit-or-miss quality here. Not best-in-class for anything which is a difficult position to be in when youre down the street from breakfast eggs at Tarralucci, panini at Eataly, deli at Essen and pizza at your favorite corner slice shop. Theres something to variety and convenience, but what Mangia needs most now is a clearer focus.

It’s one of my most favorite places around Flatiron area. They have amazing food and their staff are so friendly and also have a great attitude. I got a Rústico Panino last time that I was there. This is my favorite sandwich.

Choose the place because they advertised gluten free bread. They had wraps not bread. The wraps were sub par and it is not celiac friendly(they don’t claim to be just be aware). I had the Telera and it would’ve been better toasted.

For a lunch spot called Mangia, a base requirement would be to make a decent chicken parm hero. The chicken parm here is gross, overpriced, poor quality chicken. I would pass on this place. Not a fan.

Just placed an order for the office and two hours later we still havent gotten the food...very embarrassing for the clients we had. Canceled the order and ended up having to get pizza next door. Will never order again horrible service. Beware!!

However, my experience with their delivery service fell short of expectations, and its not just about the food.The order, placed through Doordash for a future delivery between 12:30 - 12:50 pm, took an unexpected turn. Shockingly, the food arrived at 11:07 am, a whopping hour and 23 minutes earlier than scheduled. This premature delivery left our team in a bind as the meals were intended for an executive offsite later in the day.Upon reaching out to the restaurant directly (as they handle their own deliveries), their response left much to be desired. They cited being swamped with orders as the reason for dispatching deliveries as they come in, disregarding the specified future delivery time.What added to the frustration was receiving a notification via Doordash after the fact, stating that the order was on its way within the initially allotted time. This attempt to create an illusion of adhering to the agreed-upon delivery window made the business appear disingenuous and contributed to the sense of unreliability.While I empathize with the challenges of a busy restaurant, the essence of a future order is lost if it arrives significantly ahead of the agreed-upon window. As these meals were for our executives, the untimely delivery resulted in cold food by the time it was intended to be enjoyed.Ultimately, while the food quality might meet expectations, the disappointing delivery experience overshadowed it. As an Executive Assistant focused on ensuring seamless arrangements, such an incident raises concerns about reliability and adherence to scheduled commitments. Its regrettable that despite the restaurants culinary reputation, I wont be considering them for future orders due to this service mishap.

Great hotbar for the lunch crowd. Can get very crowded around noon and 2p. Staff is very friendly and recognizes regulars.

I like Mangia. They have delicious salads and pizza, nice juices. I like to make my own salad with the ingredients I love. Food is good, staff is friendly.

Theres buffet style, pizza, sandwiches and soups. For the buffet I think its like $10 per pound. I love their kale salad and warm pesto pasta (theres two kinds, one cold and one hot). If you work near the location you might be able to get 10% off by showing ur company id.

I ordered catering lunch from time to time from Mangia and they are always late. I decided to give them another chance but the food was late again. The food came they didn’t wrap the fruit tray correct and it open up and fell. Reach out to them and explain what happen they explain it nothing they can do and told me if I wanted another fruit tray for my meeting I have to place another order. Before placing another order I asked them if I place another order of fruit tray how long it’s going to take, they stated 45 mins. So I place the order at 12:06pm it now 1:22pm and there is no fruit tray. I call the location on 23rd street where the food was place and they had me on hold for a very long time and then hang up the phone one me. I had to call back there was no manger to speak to and they put me on hold for a long time again before a young lady came on the phone to let me know her manager wasn’t available to speak to me. I’m a conference center manager and I order catering from different restaurant all the time and this is the worst customer service ever. I will never order from them again.

I come here every so often for lunch. They offer a wide selection of food but I usually get the sandwiches and pasta. The food is fresh and the staff is always willing to go above beyond if you want your sandwich for example made a certain way ( I like mines extra toasty ). While, it isnt a sit down restaurant, after you placed your order and you are staying in, they do bring you order to you. My only thing is the place is a bit on the pricey side.
