This is a great little hotel and very affordable. Rooms are small but clean and have everything you need. The staff is incredible and go above and beyond. Free little coffee and pastry in the morning. Great location on a charming little street. Only possible critique is the rooms aren’t very quiet, so if you’re really sensitive about that it could be a concern. Not terrible tho.
Good hotel. Service and Staff are very very good! Rooms were small. No mini fridge in the room.Small cafe area in the lobby with free hot drinks and pastries for guests.Overall a good stay. Would be a 5* rating if the room was bigger and not facing onto the main road as it was really loud all day and night
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Moore on our recent trip to NYC for the Christmas/holiday season - our favorite time in New York! It was a perfect spot, close to the subway, walkable other areas like soho tribeca west village etc, close to good spots for eats drinks and coffee. Our front desk staff all weekend was kind, responsive, and helpful. They did turn down service which is not as common anymore with hotels since Covid but it was so appreciated. We enjoyed the daily coffee pastry juice and water too. We would come back here again to stay!
Fantastic calm boutique hotel in Chelsea. Very clean, interiors smell beautifully and the morning pastries are fresh and delicious! We definitely come back here the next time.
A big thank you to Leo and Karen for making our stay so accommodating! They assisted with any small task and a big thank you to Karen for organising and setting up our event on the roof terrace! Rooms were clean and modern. Would definitely recommend. This is our second stay at the hotel and we will definitely be back again.
I had the most incredible 4-night stay at The Moore. The entire staff is incredible, very professional and so accommodating. Never even had the time to check out the gym affiliates, but the fact they offer it is great. I was a solo traveler which it was perfect for, but did have my friend sleepover one night - this was a bit tight but where they lack in room size, they make up for in every single other way, with a beautiful space to work remotely in the main lobby, offering daily complimentary cafe breakfast, offering their fridge as a space to keep food, under bed storage, additional hangers etc. I was really impressed with the little details, not to mention how clean every space was at all times. Just amazing. Cannot wait to visit again soon!
Love this hotel! Rooms are nicely done, bathroom is small which is common in NYC but very nice, good water pressure. Great storage for clothes with double closet that works great for 2 people.
LOVE this hotel! Modern, quiet and super clean. Room is very nice and well designed, stocked with wine, snacks and complimentary water bottles. Bathroom/Shower is awesome, spacious and private which is hard to find in the city. The staff is amazing. So helpful, attentive and super friendly.Great location, safe and a lot of really restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance. Short walk to subway.I was pleasantly surprised and don’t have one bad thing to say about it. Highly recommend!
Fabulous location and wonderful staff. The décor in the hotel is very tasteful and is well equipped. The rooms are slightly smaller than expected, but this is New York so space is a premium.I recommend booking if youre looking for a pleasant hotel in a central location.
Just got back from our 2 night stay here - we are picky and this place was great! Yes the rooms are small but that’s to be expected. My husband got the corner room so we got a great view from both windows! Everything is very clean and chic, hotel is cozy and welcoming, and they were really accommodating. Great location in Chelsea! Only thing I didn’t love was the scratchy sheets lol but I’ll let that go cuz everything else was great. We will be back on our next trip!
The Moore isn’t as “upscale” as I think it’s trying to be, but it’s friendly and very well-located. The rooms are tiny, there are no fridges, and the beds are very comfortable but strangely loud. Everything is very clean, but housekeeping shows up very early in the morning (they woke us up several times because our room didn’t have a Do Not Disturb sign). I wouldn’t come here looking for an upscale experience, but I absolutely would book here again in general. Everyone was so friendly, the free pastries and coffee every morning were a lovely touch, and the hotel coffee is the best hotel coffee I’ve had in the US.
Staff is so nice. Quiet rooms. Food in lobby is fun. You can use their bicycles. Great location. Would come again.
A very nice hotel in a perfect location. All very clean and comfortable. The staff is 100% efficient and thoughtful- from the cleaning to the desktop.I enjoyed very much my stay!
I would recommend for a short stay or if traveling light.Rooms are very tight with limited floor space and storage.Staff were friendly and helpful.A free coffee and pastry in the mornings was a nice touch too.
Great location. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quite small and at times a bit noisy. We would certainly recommend to friends.
When I walked in the hotel, i got an immediate good feeling about the place. Wonderful staff who are helpful. Room was clean and got all I needed..Definitely 2 tumbs up and I am definitely staying here again when I visit NYC
Staff were excellent and really looked after us. Location and room were perfect for what we needed. Would stay here again on our next visit to New York.
I want to edit this review we were about to check out at 12 PM and cleaning service throw some of our stuff and open other stuff and played with them and open my bottle of water empty the water that’s all before we checked out and we request for late check out and I put in the website that I’m leaving at 12 anyway before even requesting late checkout and they did clean the room trashed our stuff and played with the others without letting us know.I have medication that they open and god knows what they did with it and I don’t know if I’m missing anything right now that’s never happened to me. No one should open personal stuff for hotel guests. The manager was so rude and had an attitude. NO ONE SHOULD OPEN GUESTS PERSONAL STUFF. NO ONE UNLESS THEY ARE PLANNING TO STEAL THEM. Be careful.
Clean stylish hotel with a great location. Staff were all very attentive and friendly. The room was very small and walls are quite thin, so you can hear people leaving their rooms. Would recommend for the location.
Couldn’t ask for better! Incredible location, lovely rooms; free coffee and pastry if a morning (great touch), but it should be now, as expected with nyc, rooms are small!
Loved the Penthouse suite. The balcony w the lounging chairs and hot tub was perfect! Hotel is clean and staff members are helpful. Thank you! 😊 🙏
The Moore is a charming hotel located in the heart of Chelsea. The room was small, but clean and stylish. The staff was kind and friendly.
Really lovely boutique hotel and the room was on the small side, but it was clean and trendy Great amenities. Access to the roof was essential. Amazing staff, especially Anaise! She was welcoming, informative, and just sweet!
Having stayed in more than 20 different hotels in New York, my experience with Moore can be described as the worst. From the moment I arrived at the front desk, I knew I didnt want to stay in this hotel. The manager increased the price and asked for much more money than what was stated in my booking confirmation, including all taxes and fees. When I objected, she started raising her voice and behaving rudely, making me extremely uncomfortable. As she refused to check me in, I requested to cancel the booking without any penalty and not to charge me any money. This incident occurred between 1:40 to 2 AM, and I had a final opportunity to book another hotel instead of Moore before 2 AM, which I informed her about. She deliberately dragged out the time, assuring me that I would lose money if I refused to stay. In the end, in despair, realizing our conversation was prolonging and I no longer had the chance to book another hotel, I was literally cornered into agreeing to this scam and checking in.It was a horrible stress; I felt backed into a corner, suffering emotionally. I doubt Ill be able to sleep after this conversation. This night will be remembered as the worst night in New York in my life. I believe I will need therapy and will have to spend much more money on the consequences of the emotional trauma from this terrible situation.
This is a one of a kind hotel tgat provided an exceptional experience for my wife and I. Very nice room but even better customer service. We will be staying here again in the future.
Excellent choice for visiting Manhattan. Within easy reach of all the key sites. Welcoming and courteous staff. Would recommend.
We had the pleasure of staying at The Moore Hotel NYC during a recent project launch in the city, and we couldnt have been more impressed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, Krystal and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and seamless. Krystals assistance in organizing our long stay was invaluable, and her professionalism and warmth made us feel truly welcomed. The level of service provided by Princess, Destiny, Anaise, and Hannah was exceptional – their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our needs were met did not go unnoticed. We felt right at home thanks to their hospitality. Moreover, we loved the design and aesthetics of the hotel. The lounge area provided a cozy environment for working, and we appreciated the taste and decor throughout the property. The cold and hot drinks bar was wonderful; every morning started with coffees and lattes from The Moore.Thank you, The Moore Hotel NYC team, for making our time away from home feel like home. We look forward to returning in the future.
The rooms are very clean and well designed. I love the roof terrace and all staff are wonderfully friendly. Would come back any time.
This hotel was quaint and a great location. The staff were so friendly, and so helpful. I loved the cute little coffee/wine bar they had in the lobby. The lobby is quaint but still offers some space if you need to work, while you’re waiting to check-in/check-out. If I could rate this hotel based on solely the staff’s service, I would give it a 5 stars!!The rooms are New York sized. We got a queen room with view, and I wouldn’t say it was a view, but it did look out onto 22nd street. The location is great - close enough to midtown, but far enough to be away from the noise. The rooftop wine bar was amazing. The view from the rooftop has Empire State Building, which makes you feel like you’re right in the Center of the action.I gave this hotel a 4, because while everything was super great, the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, and the A/C in the room blew right onto your face. The bathroom was a great size for a NY hotel and the decor and ambiance all throughout is 👌🏾. I wouldn’t say this was super luxurious to make it feel like a 5-star, but definitely worth it for a few days and one of the better 4-star hotels I’ve stayed at in Manhattan!
Great location.Front desk always helpful.Room is neat, tidy and well designed making good use of space.
In reviews, some things are objective and others are subjective and situational.Let’s start with the objectives: the rooms are uncomfortably tiny. To go from the door to the toilet you have to walk like a crab, sideways. Toilet super crammed you have to reach under the sink for toilet paper. No place to put your suitcases.Staff was nice and genuine especially the manager, except for one emo girl.Clean room.Bed cover was super thin and no matter how much you pulled it would cover only two thirds of your body. Bed is near the window so cold air would come in.The hotel I expected to be something like the Bowery hotel in terms of quality. Aesthetics were fine but not quality.Location was good, convenient. The subjective. I paid for extra two days and then changed my plans to one day only. They told me the refund will be processed through the card. I had paid by my intentional debit card, they tried to process the refund after I left, it didn’t work. I asked them to transfer the amount or process a transfer or PayPal me the refund, they said they couldn’t and my only option was to have credit in the hotel that can be used within the year. Which is quite tricky considering I am not likely to visit NYC or want to stay again with them this year.My flight to NYC kept getting delayed then cancelled my original checkin time was 7 PM so I kept calling them whenever there was an update, until I found out I was arriving 7 AM the next morning. Ofcourse I was charged for that night too.I would have given them 2.5 stars, mainly for locations and cleanliness. Now it’s down to 1 star for the refund they wont process, tiny room.Would I recommend staying in this hotel. NO. Pay a little extra and get something a lot more legitimate.
Beautiful, clean, and modern hotel with great customer service and security. Pre check in experience was great and seamless with a link to provide the necessary information so you’re simply picking up keys when you arrive.Great location with most things walking distanceStayed in the Studio queen 175 sq ft room. Rooms are small but well laid out so this is a hotel that can take max 2 people in a room and it’ll be tight. I’d say guests were respectful and not loud knowing the hallways carry sound.Rooftop has a great view of the Empire State BuildingI’d definitely stay here again
I enjoyed my stay here at the Moore. The location is ideal, the room is quite small but cozy and chic. I did have an issue with the fire alarm. Apparently hot showers cause the alarm to go off. Other than that, it was a great stay! The reception staff is truly wonderful as well. And the rooftop is a convenient plus!
Very friendly and professional staff, great roof top terrace, and surprisingly good coffee in the lobby for being a hotel! The room (420) was good quality in terms of cleanliness and standard, but unfortunately the windows were very poor in terms of noise cancellation. This room is on the 8th Ave side of the building, and it becomes very loud at night with random junkies shouting, police cars, loud music etc. The hotel really needs to invest in better windows to justify the price charged.
The curb appeal of the hotel is very lacking. It basically looks shut down. Upon entering the lobby is nice but basic (reception/coffee bar combo). The hallways are narrow. The room is small but nicely appointed.First night was nice. Second morning wakeup we had no hot water! Took an uncomfoetably cold shower and mentioned it to the hotel manager Susana to.make sure she knew the boiler wasnt working. She was not only unapologetic but downright beligerent about it. This is not the person you want to manage a hotel. She offered me free coffee, but that comes with the room, so that was insulting. She acted like the cold water was the guests fault. A simple, we are sorry wouldve sufficed. A few hours later, I received a message that the hotel was offering 1 glass of wine from 5 to 6pm as compensation. That is not adequate. Part of lodging isna functional bathroom and no hot water is not functional. Part of a good hotel experience is hospitality and Susana is not hospitable.
We enjoyed our 4 night stay at The Moore. Its a very clean and stylish boutique hotel, with small, but comfortable rooms. The location was convenient to Midtowns main attractions, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We didnt find the soundproofing issues too disruptive with the use of ear plugs at night. The rooftop bar was beautiful!
Great staffThe only thing is that the room had zero view which can be very nice in Manhattan
The rooms are tiny the beds are smaller than usual to fit. No slippers no extra shampoo, the extra toilet paper is hidden in the wardrobe, there is not even a brush to clean the toilet. The tap in the sink is tight not friendly to use and only cold water available. Stupid little red lights blinking all night long in the ceiling. Only one elector There was a stool in the room that was sooooo dusty. I asked to be hovered and it disappeared instead. The ladies in the reception really friendly and nice that’s the good part in this hotel.
I stayed seven nights at the hotel. The hotel is very pleasant, the staff is nice and helpful. The room is small, but clean and cozy. The roof is very nice for morning coffee. I really liked the location. There was one thing that left me with a bad taste, I asked for another hour and a half at check out and they asked for an additional payment for it. I would expect that after a seven night stay they would not ask for payment for this. But in general a good hotel.
Only con about this place are that the rooms are very tiny. Besides that, everything is amazing. Great location by my favorite bars. In between theaters and shopping on either side.Great service, clean and modern rooms, good coffee. All the employees are super nice but my favorite is Destiny!
Lovely hotel! The reception and rooms are beautiful (rooms are quite small but have a cute view). The service is professional but could have been a bit more friendly. There is no breakfast service but the coffee and pastries in the reception is delicious. There is a really nice rooftop bar as well.
Absolute gem of a hotel! Were on our last one of a 8 night stay at The Moore and we are very pleased with everything!Modern building, helpful staff and very clean rooms and common areas. The hotels location is ideal for NYC visitors. The only downside is that our room is a bit small but thats something common for NYC and theres not enough natural light.Regardless, Id highly recommend it to other visitors and wed definitely choose it again!
Cute and hidden gem in Manhattan :)Staff is really nice and helpful, they have a bar and cafe. Bath products smell so good! As a solo traveler the room size was perfect however if you’re a couple I could see the king bed room potentially being small for 2 people. But in NYC you’re barely in your room anyway! :)
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was perfect, and the location was very convenient. A special thanks to the evening receptionist, who was incredibly kind and helpful, making my stay even better. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name, but his excellent service truly stood out.
Cute modern hotel! Clean rooms and lobby. Rooms are a little tight but absolutely loved the stay! Bathrooms are a great size! Would recommend for a quick few day trip. J
Too many positive things to say about this place. I stay in NYC all the time and this hotel is just special. Its set in a cozy neighborhood in Chelsea, very close to the train and some great restaurants. The rooms are wonderful with an overall elevated design and style. The lobby coffee shop is very convenient and the rooftop has great wine, drinks and amazing views. I stayed for an extended amount of time and the staff became truly like friends - they were all so welcoming and helpful. The Moore is now a home away from home in Chelsea. Stay here!!
I agree with the noise concerns mentioned in a few of the other reviews. On the Saturday night the doors were slamming and people were talking well past 2AM, to the point where I could not sleep. The doors are very heavy and slam on their own. I was so tired Sunday that I went back to the hotel early to try and take a nap but unfortunately found things to be just as noisy. Sunday night I woke up to the sound of the couple across the hall being intimate around Midnight. After that entertainment had ended they turned on their TV so loud that it was louder than the movie I was trying to watch on my laptop. I called down to reception for help, thankfully the man at the front desk was very understanding. I could hear the phone ring in the room across the hall and the conversation they had with reception. THAT IS HOW THIN THE WALLS ARE at this hotel. I was in an inner room that had almost no street noise, but still was unable to sleep for the two nights I was there. I spent nearly $1000 (after all the fees) for two sleepless nights. Frankly I was so tired from lack of sleep that it ruined my trip. The hotel was nice enough to offer me a $175 refund of the $1000 I paid after I left them a message regarding the noise.Long story short, if your goal is to get a hotel to be able to sleep THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAY.
Absolutely loved our three night stay at The Moore. Fantastic location within easy walking distance of a lot of attractions, shopping and dining. The rooms are small but comfortable and while there isn’t a fridge or coffee machine in them, there’s a great coffee/wine bar in the lobby. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. If you’re looking for a more personal hotel experience, The Moore is it! We are already planning our next stay.
Very friendly staff that helped us on a short noticed hotel change.Rooms are small but comfortable and modern.Great view from the rooftop at the empire state building.
A colleague recommended The Moore and had such a good time! Little boutique hotel in the heart of Chelsea. Perfect location, close to the metro and super good service. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. I forgot something in the hotel and they helped me to ship it back to Europe. Clean, friendly and still affordable for NYC. Will go back for sure.
The hotel is great, with very attentive staff. We had a very comfortable stay and loved the location. The room does not include a mini fridge.
The rooms are updated and clean, and small (thats NY for you!) But well laid out. The front desk staff is so incredibly helpful and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again. The bed was high enough to fit my suitcase underneath so it wasnt in the way.
Stayed for a week at The Moore and the location, team and hotel was exactly what I needed. The rooms are slightly on the smaller side (but that is the same everywhere in NYC) but clean and modern with the hotel only opening in 2021.Special mention to Essence on the front of house team who was always helpful, friendly and on it.PS their coffee is actually pretty damn good in their lobby cafe
My boyfriend and I came to NY for a weekend and stayed at The Moore because of its proximity to art galleries. Our expectations were totally exceeded. This boutique hotel is gorgeous. Friendly staff, amazing coffee, and very clean! We will definitely come back!
Overall nice stay, but for the price ($400/night range) I felt a little closed in, needs a little more natural light or windows.Pros:- Location is super convenient for Chelsea and West Village dining and bar hot spots- The art, decor and furniture in the room and common areas were high quality, well maintained and elegant design.- very friendly and accommodating service throughout my stay, a huge PLUS.- powerful AC during the heatwave, really clean and smelled great throughout the hotel, if you’ve been to some other NY hotels, it’s a toss up!Cons:- one tiny window into a dark side of the building made for a prison-cell feel. The lighting was elegant and positioned to make up for it, but still didn’t leave me feeling like I could hangout in my room or have any friends over comfortably- No desk, no mini-refrigerator so definitely don’t expect to work or store food/drinks in their standard queen room
Love this neighborhood hotel. Well run, nice and competent staff, comfortable rooms. Nice little gym. Nice comfortable beds, was able to get down pillows. Only downside is rooms aren’t too soundproof. But I’ll be back for sure
Large resort fee hidden in the small print of my booking. The price at check in was about a hundred dollars more than the Total price that was listed on my confirmation e-mail.The confirmation I received said the final price shown is the amount youll pay to the property, but the hotel wouldnt honor that price.
Staff at check-in and breakfast (coffee & pastry) were super kind, friendly and easy to interact with. The room was quite small, but it is NYC. Larger is available at a premium. Hotel was very clean. The biggest frustration is many guests were unnecessarily loud and noisy…not the hotel’s fault, but noise travelled easily through door & walls. Great stay overall.
Fine hotel at a good location for the office I visited. Will stay again on my next visit.
Very hospitable staff that goes out of its way for you.Skimpy on the towels and toiletries and quality of towels. No plastic dry cleaning bag.Great location and value for the money.
Great hotel in the heart of Chelsea. Walking distance to many great places like Chelsea Market, Little Island, and the Highline. Rooms are very nice but very small for two people. Rooftop bar is great.
Highly recommend! Perfect location, top of the line service, beautiful rooftop, and cool lobby where you can sit and work or grab a coffee/pastry. Staff was very welcoming and helpful throughout the entire stay. Rooms were spotless and bathrooms are modern and pristine. 5 stars!
Service was excellent! Beds comfortable, great bathrooms, front desk was super helpful and on top of any requests we had. Turndown service was amazing! Only issue was we stayed on the 4th floor near the cleaning closet so it was pretty loud in the mornings as they were getting their stuff out of it.
Extremely friendly staff at this minimalist hotel - no fridge, no room service, no laundry and minimal breakfast options. Together with a bed shorter than me (I’m 6’3”/1.90m) and almost no daylight in my small room meant that I checked out early, but if you can afford a lighter room and don’t need many facilities, the location is great and the staff make up for a lot.
We stayed at the Moore this past weekend for our wedding weekend. We had our first look there as well. So many memories have already been made in this hotel. The staff was incredible and accommodating. We plan to come back every year for our wedding anniversary. Thank you, Moore team! We love you!
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful staff. The charming attitude of all the staff made our stay very pleasant. The rooms are compact but comfortable. We also made use of the gym and the roof terrace. We will definitely stay here again.
First of all: VERY ACCOMMODATING and FRIENDLY staff. I felt very comfortable here thanks to them. The lobby is a nice place to have a glass of wine and a chit chat and they have many interesting and ecclectic books for guests to peak through, too.Our room was pretty small, but it was very comfortable, with a nice bathroom to boot.During the summer months (perhaps even in spring?), The Moore also has a rooftop bar, which is closed during the fall and winter months; however, they still maintain the seating on the rooftop and guests are welcomed to relax up there if theyd like.
Each time I stay at the Moore, I really love it. The place is well kept, easy to get in and out of, and the staff is amazing. There’s nothing better than grabbing a glass of wine after a late night in the lobby. The staff is the best part. Leo was very nice and accommodating and the lady in the morning was great and the upstairs bartender….but the star of the show was Anaise. She is always so friendly and welcoming. The people is why we come back to the Moore.
Relatively new hotel. Small and intimate. I stayed in a very nice & efficient single room. The staff is attentive and professional. You can get an espresso drink 24/7. Love that!
I had a lovely stay, the hotel was clean, exactly as pictured in the website and was conveniently located 20/30 minutes walking-distance from Midtown.A less positive side is that one of the receptionists seemed a little bit grumpy/unfriendly; nevertheless, the rest of the staff was lovely. I’d surely come back next time I’m in NYC!
Great service, amazing staff crew, Very well located. But the room was sort of disappointing for various reasons: 1) being over-priced. 2) unfortunately very noisy. 3) very bad view (photo attached).
Booked this place over booking.com.During check in, we learned that there is a special fee that added 15 percent to the total cost. It’s worth noting that the price on booking showed the cost of the room and an additional information providing the total cost with taxes and fees. This hotel decided to add an additional charge only meant to squeeze out more money from their customers. When confronted with the price increase, the personnel immediately referred me to the “fine print”, which is what people do when they intentionally want to cheat you. They have zero interest in being transparent about their pricing, as their business model is to earn profits by manipulating people. The room is too small, too dark and of low quality, definitely not worth the money.Unless you want to start your NY trip frustrated, avoid at all costs.
Excellent location and price (if you book in advance). Pretty close to all popular places. Subway stations are around as well. Nice rooms and very friendly staff.
Pleasant in quiet area. Not the value for money compared to similar. Mattress a bit bumpy and noisy. Nice rooftop. Lobby with coffee and wine to buy. Good fixtures in bathrooms with water pressure and heat.
Small but well designed rooms. We were able to unpack our clothes and feel comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The automated prompts for scheduling the check in and check out process was clear and helpful. We will be back!
Positives: public spaces and my room were clean, and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The rest: my room was quite small and the single window looked out on a plastered over brick wall. Some basic amenities were absent, including any kind of shelf in the shower to put soap and shampoo, a clock, a means of heating water for coffee / tea.The room has a small closet but zero drawers, definitely not enough space to unpack into if youre staying for more than a night. There is a small desk and a little stool on which to crouch, there is no chair and this is a rather uncomfortable arrangement for any kind of work.More problematic than any of this is that the walls and door are approximately as sound-proof as an individual tissue, and it is physically impossible to close the doors without slamming them. As a result its quite noisy well into the night and from early in the morning. Not a good place to get a solid nights sleep.
We loved our stay at The Moore. The rooms are cozy, comfy and aesthetically pleasing. Loved the coffee and pastry bar. Staff was very nice. We will definitely stay here again.
Very nice hotel in chelsea, close to the subway. All the staff i met were very helpful and nice. The rooms are clean & modern but pretty small. Their caffe and cornetto was nice.
Honestly, this was such a nice place! The staff were extremely kind. We got in to the hotel super early and the accommodated us with an extra early check in. It was just all around a very nice hotel with very nice people!
Enjoyed my stay here! Clean hotel, extremely friendly & helpful staff, great location & close to subway. Nice view from the rooftop tooOnly thing was the wifi wasnt the best and room was small but expected the small rooms as its a boutique hotel
Grounds, room, and staff were excellent but was disappointed in the lack of coffee options. No coffee machine in room.Didnt know there was a room service menu (for my beloved coffee) because it was concealed under a stack of notepad paper. One morning the lobby ran out of coffee, they did have espresso instead but I preferred coffee that morning. For me personally, coffee is a dealbreaker especially because of how much the rooms were. So unfortunately I probably wont go back. But it was a beautiful experience.
This hotel canceled my reservation on Booking because of an error made by them, and decided to simply no longer respond to my messages. Result: a canceled trip and completely absent customer service.
Great boutique style hotel in Chelsea. Contemporary and very clean! Perfect for easy access to any locations around Manhattan via Subway.
Clean, functional, and well kept rooms. Fantastic staff and ambiance. Definitely a go to hotel for future NYC trips.
Very nice people. Easy check in/out. Great location. Rooms are tiny but clean and well appointed. Bathroom nice. Way too dark in the halls.
Overpriced tiny rooms with no frills. $500 a night with no front door staff or even a bell cart to help with luggage. No parking or partnership with a nearby lot. And as mentioned in other reviews thin walls, short beds and cramped rooms. Avoid spending your money here.
Small rooms but well appointed good location on quiet Chelsea street. Super nice helpful staff. Will definitely return!
Very poor, and we have pretty modest expectations generally speaking. Wouldnt stay here again, mainly due to the constant noise, the ridiculously small rooms (the bed foot end was so close to the wall+tv we had to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom) and the odd breakfast situation. Our room was on the corner of 22/8th, right above the restaurant, which was super noisy - we used earplugs but still heard the noise so we had 4 sleepless nights which really ruined the trip. We live in central London so were used to city noise - this was next level. We moved to the Sheraton Tribeca and had no issues at all.We asked to be moved every single day, sometimes twice a day. We were told no - even when we showed availibility online. Were very sorry. They could not offer a downgrade to an inner room as its a lower grade. We were keen to downgrade, but it was not an option apparently. We felt sorry for the staff as clearly we werent the only upset guests giving them a hard time. The chip situation with pastries and bottles of water is just very odd and never seen that before, nor does it work. No kettle in the room (not essential but annoying) or any coffee maker or anything to make you a bit more comfortable. Just a tiny noisy room with a bed the wrong way, and a huge cupboard you dont need taking up a third of the room. Our stay was a bit ruined by this hotel experience, they just focus on the wrong things as many reviews mentioned. Its by far the most we paid for a hotel in a long time but is certainly bottom of our list for so many reasons.Location is nice though.
Perfect location quiet. The room are very small.
Unsafe area, during my stay an outsider broke in and even went upstairs. Avoid
Extremely small rooms, with too short beds.Maybe could be ok, if Id be a spy, because I was able to hear absolutely everything going on in the corridor and other rooms. Its an expensive, cheap motel.
A great hotel in a great location but the staff is what made the stay 5 stars! They are all so kind and truly made the trip so special. I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come again!
Perfect place to stay for my besties wedding. Our room is just as described. The rooftop views are spectacular. Very friendly staff and superb service. This is my first visit to New York and I’m loving it!
Small rooms but the norm for new york. Modern and clean and the staff are fabulous. Great location for walking about the city.
Rooms are clean and as pictured! The showers are amazing and were our favorite part. Location is perfect and the front desk is very friendly and accommodating. We would book again, but maybe the suite and not a normal room! The rooms are very small and I agree with the comments that they could be arranged better. We paid for a deluxe room and it was still very tight, especially in the bathroom. Thankfully, there was a window to open the space up a little.Being from Texas, the A/C and lack of fan (even in the bathroom, although apparently there is one) was a bit of an issue when we were going to sleep. It would get significantly hotter when we tried to go to bed and be freezing any other time. I think it comes down to circulation, as there is central air, and we would keep it at 68. Definitely ruined some hours of sleep and comfort for us.
Awesome hotel, just what I needed: quiet room, strong shower pressure, and modern design. Lovely staff as well. Will be back.
Fine quiet fine hotel at a decent rateImpossible to find anywhere in NY
Fantastic place 2 stay in NYC. Will definitely come back!!! Thanks 2 all the staff. Awesome!
Great rooms, super friendly helpful staff, fabulous neighbourhood, close to everything and there is an excellent restaurant right next door!!I’ll be back for sure 👍
Great deal for a hotel in central Manhattan! It’s close to a metro stop but we also walked to many of the great sights in the neighborhood (High Line, Chelsea Market, Flatiron Building…) the staff is really friendly, we enjoyed the complimentary coffee and pastries and loved the rooftop. Yes, the rooms are small - but other than that, it’s a very clean, beautiful and well located hotel.
We booked a Deluxe Room with 1 Queen Bed. The room is VERY tight, measuring just 135 sq ft, and could be arranged better to provide more space for guests. I’ve stayed in the city many times and understand rooms are often small, but this one had only about a foot of space between the end of the bed and the wall. The bathroom could have used a different sink option instead of a pedestal sink to allow for more storage. Additionally, the lighting in the room was odd, with no lights near the door—only over the bed and small bedside sconces. On a positive note, the hotel had a nice rooftop bar with a view of the Empire State Building, and you receive three free items a day, such as coffee, water, and a pastry. The room was clean and felt modern. The hotel is in Chelsea, so we loved the location.
Really very nice place! beautiful room, super clean. Staff always available! super recommended!
Absolute gem! Perfect location and great staff who are all very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Destiny and Simon for making my stay a better experience. The rooms and the gym are small but very modern and clean. I will definitely be back!
Small but clean room. Very courteous staff.
V cool hotel in a great neighbourhood. We stayed for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Friendly front desk team and great rooftop!
Perfect spot in a great location, with great 24/7 coffee bar in the lobby, Foragers Table attached to the building, great food service with The Butler and very friendly, accommodating staff. Id stay here again.
Just perfect, location, service and room
Love this cute hotel! Wonderful and helpful staff. They have great amenities. Can’t wait to come back.
Loved my stay as the staff were incredible and they accommodated our dog well.
Cozy and well appointed rooms. Friendly staff.
Thanks to Simon and Hannah for the great hospitality! Would love to come back again.
Lovely place with all needed!
Very minimal setup but nice overall
Such a wonderful vibe at this Chelsea gem. Well appointed rooms, large farmhouse style sinks, lighting is impeccable (dimmers, dark shades on windows), lovely roof deck and lobby to work and mingle from, bikes to explore the city, and wonderful, friendly staff.
Comfortable stay. Great people.
I travel a lot for work but this is my first time staying at The Moore. The ladies at the front desk are friendly, helpful, and the hotel is gorgeous and in a great location (coffee shop around the corner), and highly rated restaurants nearby. This will be my new go to when I come to town.
Really lovely boutique hotel. While the room was on the small side, it was clean and modern. Great amenities. Access to the roof was especially nice and we hope they keep that for guests. The restaurant on the corner is set to open in May. Amazing staff.
Great location in Chelsea - close to 2 subway station. The service is great the room is nice.
Favorite place to stay when I’m in NY, which is frequently. Room size is perfect for me, hotel is great re: cleanliness, being modern, etc. and most importantly, staff are the best. Always accommodating, friendly, responsive. Location is good because of proximity to my company’s office but still enough access to subway and within walking distance of a number of good places.
Having experienced over 20 hotels in New York City, my ordeal at Moore was the most distressing. From the moment I arrived at the front desk, I felt an overwhelming dread. The manager coldly hiked up the price significantly above my confirmed booking. When I questioned this, she erupted in hostility, making me feel trapped and uncomfortable.Refusing to check me in without the extra charges, I pleaded to cancel the booking without penalties. This occurred between 1:40 and 2 AM, my last chance to secure another hotel slipping away. Despite my desperate pleas, she stalled, insisting I would lose my money if I declined to stay. Cornered and despairing, l was coerced into this scam, forced to check in against my will. The stress was unbearable; I felt utterly helpless and emotionally shattered. Sleep was impossible after such a harrowing exchange. This night will forever haunt me as the darkest experience in New York, leaving me scarred and contemplating therapy to cope with the emotional trauma.UPD: they deleted my previous review for somehow, cuz because I attached the video wher personal saying “that’s not my hotel, I don’t care, I’ll just tag u as no show up and u will charged anyway even I’ll not let you check in”, now re-posting with out that video and srry if it’s violating Google reviews policy
Great hotel for a solo traveler or for a couple dipping in and out of NYCWell presented hotel and rooms, with friendly staff and nice facilitiesGood positioning with most places within easy reaching distance, especially when you’re one block from the 23rd St station for the A / C
Great modern clean hotel, great location, rooms are small but it is NYC so expected this anyway
Fantastic
I prefer hotels like this to huge anonymous types of hotels. It was quiet but in a great location for going north to Hells Kitchen and south to Chelsea / High Line / Soho. The staff were super friendly and genuine and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable and typically on the smaller side as you would expect in NYC. The overall style of the hotel is chic and stylish. The hotel is exactly as advertised. I disagree with any negative reviews of this place. Would 100% stay here again next time I visit
I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Moore in Chelsea, NYC, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was impressed by the impeccable rooms and the warmth of the staff. The rooms at The Moore are nothing short of exceptional. Impeccably designed and tastefully decorated, they provide a perfect blend of comfort and style. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the room, from the cozy bedding to the modern amenities. The cleanliness was top-notch, and the room felt like a luxurious home away from home. One of the standout features of my stay was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. From the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone I encountered went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. They were always ready to assist with a genuine smile, offering helpful recommendations for local attractions and ensuring that all my needs were met promptly. The location of The Moore in Chelsea is also a major plus. Situated just a few blocks from The High Line, it provides easy access to popular attractions, dining, and shopping, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. In addition to the excellent rooms and staff, The Moore offers a range of amenities that further enhance the overall experience. The attention to guest satisfaction is evident in every aspect of the hotels operation.Overall, my stay at The Moore was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of impeccable rooms, super-friendly staff, and a prime location make it a standout choice for anyone visiting Chelsea in NYC. I highly recommend The Moore to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay in the city.
Such a wonderful, cute hotel in a great location. Highly recommend and the staff is so friendly and helpful.
I stayed at the moore during NYFW and I had a fabulous experience. The location cant be beat and even tho the room is the size of a shoe box it was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom felt very modern and the decor was quite nice. There is a security feature to get in at night and there is an elevator in the hotel. Its a small boutique hotel but I will def be staying here again next time Im in NYC
Very funky hotel - Cool decor. Location is good and close to the subway. All staff very friendly and helpful - Destiny and Anaise were very helpful with checkout and serving us the coffee :)
Really friendly staff, clean updated rooms, great location. Great experience.
Great little gem of a hotel. Fantastic location 10 min walk for Madison Square Garden. Short walk to 3 different subway lines which take you direct to most tourist places. Has a supermarket and nice delis very close by. The staff were all great and the rooftop bar with a view of the Empire State Building was a great bonus! The room is small but clean, good value for money, modern and everything you need assuming you just need a place sleep
The hotel is centrally located, as others have mentioned you can go north or south of manhattan within 20 minutes.the staff are really friendly from top to bottom. Ihighly recommend this hotel.
Boutique hotel with a great vibe. Small but very well appointed rooms, very positive staff energy, and a fantastic barista setup in the lobby. 10 minute walk from Penn and lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood. Subway is a block away, so its easy to get around. Highly recommend.
This was a really great hotel for a brief stay when I came to town for a conference. I lived in New York for six years in the past and had no interest in staying in the more touristy conference zones. This hotel and the area around it was nice because I was able to do things for fun (e.g. walk the High Line), and access the conference (Javitts), but I was also able to have some quiet to the extent that New York is ever quiet. It’s an easy area to walk around, easy for the train, and a $20-30 Uber to Broadway, SoHo, 5th ave fancy stuff, etc. There was one staff member, Simon, who was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel is in great location (easy to walk around and take public transportation) and is very clean. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The reason my rating is below average is the soundproof issue that has been reported in other reviews too. You can literally hear the next room’s everything - iPhone alarm, conversations, door opening and closing etc. It will affect your sleep quality for sure if you are a light sleeper. Also the room is very small…therefore unfortunately though with all the great attributes, I won’t choose to stay again until the soundproof issue gets resolved.
Very nice hotel, the service was very good!
Our 4 night stay was everything we were looking for. Perfect location, very close to all the midtown main attractions. Very stylish boutique hotel, with small but still comfortable rooms. Staff was welcoming and very friendly.
I loved my stay. The location is amazing but really the staff are the best thing about The Moore. They’re so kind and friendly. They let me check in early, moved me to a quieter room off 8th Ave, stored my bags. They make coffee in the AM and drinks in the evening at the nice lobby spot and are just great. The hotel is safe and secure which is reassuring as a single traveler. So convenient. Rooms are small but totally ok. Comfy beds. Clean. Heated bathroom floors and a great bathroom with nice toiletries. It’s not totally quiet, with the street and the other guests closing doors, but I didn’t find that to be an issue overall. This is my new spot for NYC stays, and I’ve been recommending it. Thank you to the staff for a great stay.
One of the best city hotels weve ever stayed at. great rooftop, great staff, clean rooms, awesome location, breakfast option in the lobby - well again stay here when we return to NYC
We had our wedding reception on the rooftop and also stayed in the penthouse suite and it was the best experience we could have asked for! Krystal and Sophie went WAY above and beyond to make our celebration and our stay go smoothly and something we will never forget! The cocktails were delicious, everyone was accomodating (including complimentary champagne in the room) and the Japanese soaking tub on the roof was sublime! Soaking in the tub with the view of the Empire State Building is a night I’ll look forward to repeating… and I would recommend anyone else who is considering it to go for it!
Okay, this is what I think happened here. Somebody bought the crappiest, tiniest, and slummiest apartment complex and said, Im gonna make this place the fanciest hotel in NYC! Then, failed miserably. This place is a lie. It is a Motel 6 pretending to be the Waldorf Astoria. Its a joke, an expensive joke.Every space in this building is roughly 50% smaller than it should be, from the lobby to the gym to the broom closet of a room that they booked me into. Almost all the rooms here promise a Queen bed. They are NOT queen mattresses. This is a very easy thing to prove. All queen beds are 80in long; I am 73in long, and my head AND feet stick out of this bed. Unacceptable. The entire place seems like a cautionary tale of form over function. The fixtures are fancy-looking and surprisingly difficult to operate. The toiletries look fancy and are close to impossible to actually remove from thier containers. There is almost no water pressure in the shower. The gym is in the basement, is inadequate and stinks like a basement with little to no airflow.GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
Best hotel experience ever, especially in NYC where all places are pricey. The staff made my birthday weekend extra special. Every staff has a pleasing personality. Rooms were cleaned and designed well. My go to hotel for sure. Cant wait to be back!
Nice neighborhood, friendly staff, and excellent accommodations. Would definitely stay here again.
A very quiet hotel at a nice location with all great amenities nearby. The rooms are small in size, but thats common for the majority of NYC hotels. The rooms are very clean and super quiet, which is the best thing. There are no views from the rooms as it is surrounded by other buildings. In terms of hospitality, the service is great and the staff is very polite and helpful.
The hospitality was stellar! Thank you Grace for being so awesome to us! We will definitely be back. We’ve never stayed in Chelsea before, but after staying at The Moore, I can’t see us staying anywhere else. Thank y’all!
Hip hotel in a pretty good location. Rooms are small but comfortable. Very close for a walk/run on the West Side Highway and generally a great location for coffee and food. Easy checkin and check out process. Coffee in the lobby has great espresso and is open 24/7. And the roof has a laid back rooftop bar with great drinks.
Very dignified and stylish option in NYC. I very rarely find good value for price hotels in a good neighborhood of NYC. But this is probably the first place Ive stayed where I felt I got great value for the hotel, the neighborhood, the room and the experience. I will look up this hotel next time I am visiting NYC. The hotel is clean, quiet, stylish and dignified, which should not be taken for granted in NYC. The lobby is very nice, clean and pleasant, unlike a lot of NYC hotels. The rooms are on the small side, but the space is well utilized with a closet/wardrobe, queen size bed, desk and night stand. The bathrooms are very nice with great finishes. There is a very nice roof deck on the PH level of the hotel. Its only 6 stories tall and not too many rooms in the hotel which keeps the atmosphere in the hotel calm and quiet. The employees at the front desk were nice and courteous and stored our bags for us on the day we checked out until the evening, which was very convenient. We paid $242 for a Queen room. The 4.7 star rating on Google is well-deserved. Its not easy to find well-priced, clean, stylish boutique hotels in really good NYC neighborhoods. The Moore Hotel is that. 👍
Hi, I already write to this hotel through messages on the booking website and on their Instagram where they decided to hide the comment and block me.😁 So, I also write here because of the mess they created. We had bookings at this hotel on a trusty booking platform, where I had 0 complains in more than 10 years. The hotel cancelled our bookings in their system on November 9, TWO MONTHS after the bookings were made on September 13. They cancel the booking on their system, but on the booking platform the reservations are still available! No notification for us or for the booking platform: just cancel. Period! When I asked the hotel why, they only blame the booking partener for an error and that was all. In my opinion, if you are a professional service provider, you try to find solutions for the customer, you don’t lie by blaming your booking partner, which is a trusty one, hide comments and don’t answer to angry, but honest messages. I am pretty sure we are not the only customers in this situation. I’m in close touch with the the platform customer service hoping for a penalty for this discriminatory hotel. For sure, the platform will help me to solve this menace, at least they speak to us. This hotel tries to be a 3/4 star hotel with a 1 star customer service. So please, save your words and don’t lie or blame your booking partner for your error - if you rise the prices or change our booking strategy, it’s not my fault or others: just yours and you should assume all the consequences. You just cancelled the booking on your system 2 MONTHS after the reservation was made without any notice. It’s completely unprofessional and you have no excuse. Shame on you. Godspeed!
The staff were all amazing!! We interacted with several different staff members and they were all super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We arrived very early and they accommodated us for an early check in with no problem. We simply went to a neighborhood cafe for breakfast and they texted us when the room was ready. Communication throughout our stay via text was helpful and appreciated. There are tons of amazing restaurants and bars within just a couple of blocks. The neighborhood is safe and has access to transit and anything else you need within a block. Easy walk to the theatre district and to the west village as well. The rooftop patio was an amazing bonus. Unfortunately, we were never there when the bar was open, but we just purchased drinks from the lobby bar/café and took them up for a nightcap every evening - most evenings we had the place to ourselves!! Room design was great, super comfortable and very clean. Hugely impressed by the service, location, value for money....we found our new favourite place to stay in NYC!
Two words: Pet Friendly.Nestled in the Chelsea neighborhood is this chic hotel; were not tourists but opted for an NYC staycation and initially, I hesitated seeing the location by 8th Avenue, but Manhattan being a walking city, that concern quickly faded. Unless you decide to stick within the neighborhood, youre never really confined to one spot. Plus, 22nd St. can be pleasantly quiet, while 7th and 8th avenues buzzed with activity. The interior has a chic vibe, with a small lobby hosting a cafe/bar. Despite the winter season, we enjoyed the rooftop bar (though closed) for a cozy hangout with friends and our dog, braving the very warm 40-50°F winter weather. Now, lets talk about the rooms – theyre tiny, no doubt about it. But we were there to shower and sleep, so size didnt bother us much.A shoutout to the fantastic staff, especially Destiny, who took care of us from check-in onwards. Despite being busy, she lugged our bags (there were 6 of us plus our dogs bag) while giving us the lowdown on the hotel. Always up for some small talk, she made our stay feel personalized. In conclusion, wed recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a delightful NYC stay, whether with or without a furry friend!
Location for the hotel is actually pretty nice. Stayed here in April of 2023 and it’s in a relatively well lit and central area in Chelsea. But that’s all it has going for it.The rooms are some of the smallest you’ll encounter. The bedroom is just the bed, an area to walk past and a closet. The bathroom is also very small. It’s good for sleeping in and that’s about it. There was also small hair shavings in the blankets and on the bathroom counter tops (assume previous guest that wasn’t cleaned properly). All of that was probably still around 3 stars since the location is so nice. Especially if you’re visiting for business or specifically interested in the Chelsea area. The largest issue was after I checked out and flew back home. I was charged with a $160 fee for a charging port that they didn’t see in the room. I have no idea what charging port they’re referring to and have no idea where it would even plug into the wall. But to be falsely accused and then have no response when I emailed and called back is horrible customer service. I spent over $1,600 for 5 nights, why would I care to take a charging port that wouldn’t even be compatible with my devices.
Fantastic place to stay as a NewYork First timer! Clean, beautiful and cosy room, hotel is located in quiet and safe residential area, but close enough to everything downtown really. Also, great gym and rooftop
Nice hotel, rooms are cosy and small (but typical for NYC), very friendly staff and well located (eg Highline and Chelsea-Market within a few minutes walking distance. major metro lines are also pretty close by.
Great looking hotel with great service. Location was perfect as well. The staff was nothing but kind and courteous the entire time.Thank you for an amazing stay!
My partner booked this hotel, we received emailed conformation confirming the room and the room rate. We have now been advised there was an error in the booking and they now want almost double. If an organisation makes an error, live with it. The mistake was wholly yours. Why should we need to for their mistake
The Moore is the perfect Manhattan hotel - Location, Style, Comfort and Value. Its everything you need, well packaged, for a good price. The location is great, its in the heart of Chelsea, so is close to High Line, Chelsea Market etc, but also a short walk to 5th Ave, Broadway, Empire State, Flatiron, Penn Station etc. And all the subway stations on 23rd Street within a 5 minute walk. The hotel is fresh and modern and the rooms are very thoughtfully put together. Minimalist chic - it reminded me of The Standard when it first opened.Theyve also focused on the right things - beautiful bathroom, great bedding, clever storage. The rooms arent huge, and dont expect amazing views (most rooms face internal courtyards) - but whos going to New York to hang out in their hotel room all day.And the price was very good. The hotel is rated as a 3 star, presumably because it lacks some of the facilities of a larger hotel (restaurant etc) - but I would now genuinely pick this over any of the other hotels Ive stayed at in Chelsea (Standard, Gansevoort, Maritime, Dream) on its merits. That it is also significantly cheaper is a bonus. The Moore is the real deal - great location, stylish, comfortable, and remarkable value.[One thing to note - the common spaces of the hotel (lift, corridors etc) are dark. Its a deliberate vibe and suits the overall style of the hotel - but if your eyesight isnt the best you might find it off-putting.]
Great boutique hotel in the heart of Chelsea. Perfect location if you’re planning on walking to the main attractions in Manhattan. The Hudson River park is literally 1km away. Flat iron 10 minutes and time square 20 min walk. There are plenty of coffee places and restaurants around. The chelsea market is also 5 blocks away. There is a grocery shop just around the corner. And a Starbucks on the opposite side.
Very cosy hotel in the heart of Chelsea, so quite easy to commute your way around the city
I had a great time staying at The Moore! Nice and clean rooms and great location. Close to subway stations, walking distance from the Chelsea Market and the High Line. Good bar, restaurants and cafes options near by as well!
Rooms are small, but every time Ive been to NY, Rooms were small, No amenities, but service was outstanding!
Room was clean and everyone at the reception/cafe area was very friendly, on the other hand the room was very small, for 1 person spending mostly only the night in to sleep is fine but nothing more. Get a room on the higher floors if youre a light sleeper as the noises from the street will wake you and the building is not very well insulated.
Really well located and well designed smaller hotel in Chealsea. The lobby, lobby cafe and gym are great. The rooms are also well designed and comfortable. Provided the prices remain competitive this is a real plus find. The rooms are small and compact, so I wouldn’t suggest this place for longer stays, but for one or two nights. It’s perfect .
Friendly and welcoming staff. Coffee and pastries available for purchase in the lobby area is a nice convenience. Other guest were quiet and did not disrupt our stay in the middle of the night, but outside hallway noises (opening and closing doors, conversations etc.) are quite loud. Easy Check-In and Check-Out experience. The room was tiny, but understand this is NY. Overall, I would recommend this place and stay with them again in the future.
Stayed here last year. Room was nice - cramped, but it is NYC. Location is very solid though for the price.Staff were the main letdown, seemed much more interested in talking amongst themselves than interacting with guests.
The Moore is a very clean and stylish hotel with a great roof top bar. It is in the middle of so much, yet in a quieter neighborhood. The staff was great!
Wife and I had an opportunity to celebrate our 20 in NYC - we were so impressed by the Moore. The entire staff were friendly and accommodating- but they were all genuine and cared for our experience. The decor was modernly on point. Rooms were clean and had enough space to enjoy our stay. Loved that coffee bar was 24 seven - oat milk lattes were on point. A plus to have wine available and some baked goods. Location wise was perfect - so many restaurants, shops and subway entrances close by. Just perfect all around!!!
5* - Super friendly and accommodating staff. Clean. Convenient. Everything you need. Will be staying again.
Very nice place in Manhattan friendly staff
I was spending a weekend in NY but not at the same hotel as my friends. As a solo traveler, I loved The Moore! I felt very comfortable and my room was clean, spacious (for NY standards), clean, and really modern/nice. The staff was friendly as well. There is a roof top bar that I visited when the bar was closed, I can only imagine at night it’s a pretty cool spot to have a drink before hitting the town. The have bikes to rent as well and I loved this option! Also, they have a little coffee shop with light snacks. Definitely recommend! Nicely located in Chelsea.
Good value for the money with a nice respectful and helpful staff. Great location as well with attractions like the High Line and Chelsea Market. Just make sure you get a room with a big window. Otherwise you’ll feel like you’re staying in a closet like my room ended up being. Next time I’ll make sure to see the room first because on my first stay I had a window that at the very least I could see the sky!
Spent 6 days at the Moore. Staff are very friendly and the place is incredibly clean and stylish. The roof terrace has a fabulous view of the empire state building and is an oasis of calm in a bustling city. The room we had was cosy but perfectly sized for us and had everything we needed as we were out all day. The hotel is perfectly located for site seeing with interesting places to visit in walking distance or a relatively short subway ride away. Needless to say we had a fabulous stay and would not hesitate to book the Moore again when we next visit. Thank you once again for a high quality experience, we thought it was great value for money and welcoming.
Lovely staff, great and clean room
Very happy with this hotel. Great location. Clean and updated feeling rooms. Fantastic staff. It was everything I needed.
My husband and I had a 10/10 stay! The staff -- all of them -- are very pleasant and easy to talk to. The decor throughout is thoughtful and elegant. We stayed for nine days and our room got fantastic light and was just enough/functional for the two of us to be comfortable. The gym downstairs is beautiful and clean with high-quality equipment. And lastly its the perfect location for getting connected to uptown and downtown neighborhoods and of course for exploring Chelsea. We will 100 percent stay here again when were in town. Also, shout-out to Foragers Market next door for being the absolute best corner market!
Rooms are small but comfortable. Coffee in the lobby has great espresso and is open 24/7.
This is a great boutique hotel quietly hidden in a neighborhood like a local. The employees are the best: the maintenance man, the cleaning crew, the manager, everybody!
Friendly staff and clean hotel in Chelsea. Would highly recommend.
Clean and nicely designed room. The quietest stay Ive ever had in NYC so book the small courtyard view room if a quiet sleep matters to you. Warm and friendly staff.
Cute place, was here for work, exactly what i needed
Cute, magical find on Chelsea. I only stay in Chelsea Meatbacking and The Moore is a vibe for sure!
My wife and I just stayed there for a couple nights while in NYC. I have to say its one of the best hidden gems of a hotel I’ve been to in the city. Not too expensive, the service was fantastic! We were there for my 40th and they were really thoughtful and left some snacks for us. Room as super clean and the bathroom was great, we had the penthouse room. My only gripe was the balcony hottub was down for the season!
Anaise was wonderful! I had a special request and she didnt skip a beat to help. Amazing service!
The room was small but efficient with a generous armoire to store our suitcases and clothes. Handsome finishes, especially in the bathroom, loved the huge shower head. Nice towels, the soaps smell good and didnt dry out our skin, and the robes are soft. I was doing some remote work while I was there and the wifi is fast whether youre in your room or the lobby, which is a pleasant place to sit (the whole place is tastefully decorated). For nights in, theres Chromecast. For nights out, check out the rooftop bar. Immaculate vibes and delicious cocktails (the One Night Stand is so refreshing!). Its open to the public so we had some friends stop by and they were stoked on the view of the Empire State Building. The lobby bar also serves wine, beer and nice coffee (coffee and tea 24/7 actually). Staff is so friendly and helpful and you really cant beat the location. 22nd is also a particularly beautiful street. If youre looking for a boutique hotel in Chelsea, look no further!
Lovely stay! Thank you for the bottle of wine.
Clean and quiet rooms.Quite polite staff.Hotel is located near underground stations, food stores, restaurants and Chelseas sights (high line, chelsea matket, little island)
We stayed at the Moore a few weeks ago in the penthouse suite. Overall the hotel is nice, well decorated. The staff is nice as well.My partner and I however had mixed feelings about a few things that could be improved :- The size of the room was not correct : the website mentions 45sqm. Yet, the room was around 20sqm and the other 25sqm were the terrace. This is kind of unusual to include the terrace in the size of the room.- The hotel is a hotel, and not much more. Theres a small coffee counter in the lobby, but thats it. Dont expect much in terms of services, but there are a lot of things in the neighborhood.- The floor was really dusty in the room, even after the housekeeper came. Our white socks turned litteraly black under the foot. Beside, the room was clean.- The terrace is a nice spot, with the hot tub to indulge. However, a huge negative point is... the noise. There are a lot of really loud machines right behind the plants on the terrace. I guess they are AC engines. It made the terrace less enjoyable than it could have been.- The access to the rooftop did not seem to be controlled. One night, a very loud and enibriated group decided to party right next to our room, came and went down the hall, slamming doors, shouting, etc. The manager made it up to us with refunding the night, which was nice.- There is no fresh minibar, only chips, pretzels and chocolate. Be careful, there is no price announced ! We actually thought they were complimentary... but they were not.Overall, the hotel is nice, and well gladly come back next time were in town.Greetings from France.
Kind staff, very accommodating. Allowed me the check in early. Great location, clean and aesthetic room.
So on a whole, the hotel was pleasant and I would recommend others to come and stay. There are a few factors to comment on, which have been referenced in earlier reviews;1. Walls are incredibly thin, and therefore you can hear every conversation, door slams, etc.2. The bed & bedding were quite uncomfortable and not to mention on the smaller side of things. The duvet set used is not a traditional set, so by the time you wake up, the duvet is out of its cover.3. Communication - although my British accent can be very English, on most interactions I was met with confusion, which then makes things ever so slightly awkward. On a whole, it was a pleasant experience and I would consider staying here again in the future
Great location & nice 24/7 coffee.
Lovely hotel, I absolutely love the interior design. The staff is so friendly. The room is as you can expect in NYC small but sufficient. Location is very good, subway is nearby. Would love to come again!
I stayed at the Moore for 4 nights recently while passing through NYC on the way to a friends wedding. This hotel is a great option for travellers looking for a reasonably-priced option in a great Manhattan location. The hotel is situated a short walk from the High Line, Hudson River Park, Chelsea Market, and the museums/galleries of the meatpacking district. There is an excellent restaurant literally next door, too. If you want to explore the rest of the city then the subway is a block away. If not, you can hang out on the rooftop which has a nice bar and good views in both directions.Special mention goes to the staff at the front desk who are polite, welcoming, and very well informed about the city. They also make a fine cup of espresso. The amenities are generally good - clean, comfortable rooms with well-equipped bathrooms. I did notice that the walls are a little on the thin side, so that its sometimes possible to overhear conversations occurring in the corridor, or running water, but this didnt stop me sleeping and I guess its part and parcel of life in NYC. I should mention that I had a room facing an interior courtyard rather than the street, so if your room faces the street then your noise experience may be different. The rates are very. very good for the location. I dont think Ive ever stayed in a hotel that was such good value. If youre wondering how they keep the prices so reasonable but the hotel so nice, the answer is that a lot of the frills are cut out. Theres no pool or restaurant, for example (although there is a decent coffee shop next to reception where you can pick up a to-go breakfast on your way out). So although this makes for an excellent home base while visiting the city, its mostly aimed at people who use hotels for sleeping and little else. If youre intending to spend a lot of time in your hotel, this may not be for you. Also, the rooms are on the smaller side. I stayed in a standard double, which was fine for me as a solo traveller but would have been cramped for a couple. If youre travelling as a family/group/couple, Id recommend examining the room size options before you book.In general, though, this is an excellent hotel and the next time Im in NYC I will definitely stay here again.
We had the very best stay here, 10/10 would recommend in every aspect - great location, staff, and rooms :)
The rooms are great and loved the service. There is an outdoor fireplace I really liked. The hotel is located in a great spot which is very comfortable:Theres a Starbucks right at the back of the hotel and a Whole Foods on the other side of the street and an amazing shopping and a restaurants area after that.
The design and aesthetic is great, but rooms need some TLC. The toilet didnt flush well and the shower door didnt close. The doors are paper thin and we could hear every other room coming and going, and every alarm. Also the sheets are rather starched and rough. Im very tired after my stay due to lack of good sleep.
The room was spick and span, really nice design throughout, it was quiet and comfortable. Location is great, Chelsea market with delicious dinners around the corner. I have nothing to complain about!
Amazing staff. Clean and cozy. Great rooftop and lobby cafe/bar. Complimentary bikes out front. Great place to stay in Chelsea. Quiet street.
Besides the rooms that were a bit tight even in NY standards (I took the smallest room) everything was great. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous.
Lovely hotel with a friendly staff. Room was flawless. Though small (standard NYC), the furniture was well-considered.
The quality of every single material is excellent, very quite room and friendly staff.
Friendly staff, great coffee and cozy rooms
