The cheese/mushroom croquettes were nice and crisp which blended well with the sauce. The octopus was quite plump, but the sauce under was a bit oily for my liking. The unexpected best dish was the squid over black rice. I very much enjoyed the Spanish seasoning while not being overly heavy. The lobster rice was a close second. I was worried that the soup with fish would be too much, but it quickly dissipated.I did not like the pork shoulder with what seemed like potato - it was a clear step down compared to the rest of the plates, not to mention overly heavy
Food 8/10A solid spot if you’re craving tapas! Their octopus was seasoned very thoroughly and came out extremely tender–might be my favorite dish of the meal. I also really enjoyed the croquetas, even though I usually view potatoes as having no value add. The salad was also very refreshing, full of tomatoes and olives, while the iberica was my least favorite, simply because it didn’t stand out as much as the others.Atmosphere 8/10Located on Grand Street, the restaurant has quite a good number of seats. There’s a bar at the front, with tables in the back. Ceilings were high, and I recall getting some natural sunlight.Service 8/10Good service, fast and efficient.
Had higher hopes for the food here. It was definitely a happening scene on a Tuesday night and the wine selection was great. The Jamon iberico, croquets, and octopus were definitely the highlights. The rest of the food was a little underwhelming and under seasoned. Overall, fun place for a drink a couple snacks.
Im Galician descent and have had this place in my map for a long time. The wait was so worth it!!! Everything tasted perfect, just like my grandma made it and just how I had it when I visited Pontevedra. And when the Santiago cake came and saw the cross on it... I had to fight the tears of joy. Felt like family 🥹❤️
Visited Taberna Gallega the first time last week for a quick lunch. Had an Incredible experience! Food, cocktails and service were exceptional! Mixologist made a great version of a classic Paloma and the wood-coal grilled Ibérico pork shoulder was perhaps the best pork dish I’ve had in a long time! Kudos to the chef and staff! Will definitely be back!
Great and delicious food. Nice stuff. The only thing I do not like - tips already included in final bill (18%).
Wow. Amazing traditional Spanish gintonics! Great service and happy hour. Got the braised short rib, croquettes, and the cheese plate. Also ordered their holiday cocktail martini. Absolutely amazing. So delicious the service was impeccable. Everyone is on their A game here. I have been here 4 times in less than a week. I cant say enough good things about this place.
What can I say? absolutely nothing. It was insanely delicious and the vibe was outstanding. The food and drinks are so good I didn’t even want the night to end. I couldn’t believe how amazing everything was. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. My new favorite place to go for dinner on any occasion. Thank you Tomiño for an unforgettable night out.
Delicious tapas although the plates were rather large so we left very full. I think about 4 plates are good for 2 people
The food was solid. The octopus was a hit, as was the lobster pallela. The lobster meat was firm -- good sign I guess 😄. Im on the fence between 4 and 5 stars for the food, but I think I will reserve the 5 stars for the wow ones.Cozy yet bright setting for a dinner, which I much prefer to those so dimly lit places that you can barely read the menu 🤣
Came highly recommended by a native of Barcelona. Many dishes were good but some were disappointing (shrimp). The tortilla, gazpacho, octopus were all great.
Great food and great service! Everyone was so friendly and they change your plates and fill your water so fast.
The service at this restaurant was truly disappointing. Despite ordering five dishes, the guy who seemed to be the manager (an older man who didnt speak fluent English) attempted to clear our table five times, even though we were still eating (I obvs said we’re still working on them). He repeatedly instructed other servers to take away our plates while we clearly had food left, as seen in the image lve attached. To make matters worse, he told us we needed to leave soon because another party was coming, despite the hostess informing us when we arrived that we had the table until 8:30 pm. It was only before 8:00 pm when he told us to leave, and we still had a good 30 minutes remaining so I told the server that we still have time and he said, “Oh” then he left. LOL This behavior was unprofessional. I will never return.
Tapas for big groups and value for money, considering the portions and amount of seafood dishes we ordered. Pictures reflect the dishes I enjoyed. The iberico pork was bomb - so tender and flavorful. The lobster rice dish was amazing, but so huge its honestly for more than 2 unless you both dont wish to order anything else. Also, dont dice right into it when the dish is served; the consistency and flavor gets thicker after it sits for a little. Youre also likely better off ordering wine instead of cocktails, which were pretty diluted in flavor.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tomino Taverna Gallega and I must say it was an incredible experience. My meal was nothing short of exceptional. I ordered the octopus and was blown away with how tender and flavorful it was. The sizzling sausages were another highlight for me. They were bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked in some sort of alcohol. But what truly made my experience unforgettable was the owners kindness and hospitality. He went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable and even gave me some recommendations on other dishes to try.Overall, Tomino Taverna Gallega is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and a warm atmosphere. I cant wait to come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.
We ordered their CHULETÓN DE ‘VACA VIEJA’ , premium angus, dry aged ribeye. It is so good that it surprises you. But the price is a bit high $ 108. Good treat once in a while.
The location, ambiance, and service are very good. The food...... it looks pretty. To be fair the muscles where nice enough. The red sangria is lackluster, but go with the white if you must. If youre a gin & tonic fan their numerous variations, which all sounded good, are poured with love. Hang for the vibes. Eat elsewhere.
I gave 4 stars for food because I didn’t like salad ( green leaves were not crispy) and baby ribs (it was in smoky sauce), However, rice with squid in own ink, croquettes and bay scallops on the shell were excellent. In general, we enjoyed evening in Tomino
Really nice Galician restaurant really close to Soho. We order mushrooms with grapes and fresh cream, pulpo á feira, black ink rice squid , ribs and criollo; all to share. Everything was delish and well presented. Staff was fast and attentive. A good experience overall. Would and will recommend
A good selection of regional Galican Tapas dishes for sharing with friends. Definitely try the pulpo and croquetas. Shishito peppers and ribs a bit different from others on the menu. Ok service, waiters english was a bit limited. Flaming sausage a bit much.
I went to this tapas restaurant for a birthday dinner, and it was such a wonderful experience! Everything was so delicious. I didn’t have a single dish I didn’t enjoy. The grilled mushrooms, tortilla, and croquettes were especially amazing. I don’t know how they did it, but the croquettes were smooth, soft, and pillowy on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Highly recommend this place; I’ll definitely be back.
Really cant ask for a better tapas experience in NYC. Everything is very high quality and reasonably priced for both the quality and the location. Wine list is very expansive as well as being very affordable. Suggest getting the tapas and not worrying about the large format dishes. Desert definitely a highlight as well.
This is a fabulous restaurant… With delicious food that is so reasonable. We started off with all different flavored gin and tonic’s. They also have sangria. The foods we had were all incredible. Octopus, steak, sea bream, langostines, scallops, stuffed peppers, jamon - all absolutely delicious. A great place for a group dinner!.
Loved the food and the environment at Tomiño. The service was very attentive and friendly, very good place for us with friends. Be there many times already.
I highly recommend this Galician restaurant, and I think it’s top tier compare to other Spanish restaurants I have been. They have a more extensive selection of sea food, and octopus, oh gosh, octopus. The octopus is the tenderest I ever had, compare to those other places that made hard and overcooked octopus, the octopus here is tender as baby soft. Zamburiñas and Cigalas are also well cooked. And mushrooms…as a meat lover somehow I fall in love with their mushrooms. Smoky with cream and chewy. The price isn’t expensive at all given the quality of food. Two people eating till fully filled with some even to go would be around $150. I think it definitely is one of the worthy place to go.
If you are looking for great Spanish food, Tomiño is it! All tapas are great, also they have a great cocktail menu and of course wonderful wine menu! You can ask what kind wine you want, they will give you perfect recommendations🍷 We always get croquette, patatas bravas, anything scallops and meat 🍖 (must try the meat tapas! Sometimes they have a special meat menus too). If you couldn’t decide which one you wants to eat, just ask! They are really helpful and well known !!! Ohh Pulpo is soft and real Spanish style ;) Great date spot too ♡
Excellent paella, pulpo, and croquettas. The tortilla was well done. The pulpo is a must! It was nicely seasoned, tender, and meaty. The Tomahawk steak was perfectly salted. Excellent service and recommendations from the server were 👌🏼.
I’ve frequented Tomino at least 5 times. Lived in Spain for 7 years and I can say they try to preserve Spanish flavor as much as possible. Recommend the Jamón, chuletón, different types of tapas. Eating at the bar is cozy. They also have La Liga!
This place is always wonderful and perfect dishes also. I love and recommend this place. The service was lovely. I will be comeback here😉
Great food, party and drinks! I recommend it, and plan to be back soon!
Tomiño offers delicious Spanish food. The arroz caldoso is huge. After some time, the rice will soak up the broth and becomes more flavorful. The octopus is really good, as well.
If you want to be spoiled by amazing staff while served delicious food, stop by to Tomiño... NOW! This place is such a delightful little gem.Lately, I’ve been to many places where service and food leave a lot to be desired, and being here really felt like a breath of fresh air.The food was absolutely tasty, and very filling. It seems like it isn’t a lot but trust me it is a lot. We got two orders of the empanadillas, and they were so crunchy yet soft but big. The chorizo had a nice kick of spice to it, very tasty. The pulpo was nicely grilled and seasoned. They also had a great selection of Spanish wines. The service was outstanding, our waiter was absolutely helpful and attentive. He had quite a few tables seated and still managed to give everyone great service. At one point my friend wasn’t sure of which wine to have, and selected one, but the waiter decided he wanted to give him a tasting of two wines he thought he would like before he committed to anything, excellent customer service on his behalf. The manager, also a delight. He stopped by to check on us as well, and asked for feedback, it’s always great when management is checking in. Also, his joy was contagious, you could just tell through his eyes he had a big smile on his face at all times. When we left he expressed gratitude and made us feel so warm and sad to be leaving.I absolutely recommend this spot! You’ll be sure to enjoy the delightful staff and food!!
Finally the best Spanish Ive tried in NYC. Very authentic. What I liked the most was the croquetas and the octopus. Very good gallego bread and they have Estrella Galicia, excellent Spanish beer and difficult to find this side of the Atlantic. Try as well the padrón pepers. The venue is nice and the staff very friendly. You may be lucky and meet the owner, we did in the evening. Recommended.
First time having Gallician foods. They are soo good and made me become a Celta fans now. ¡Sempre Celta!
Great good, octopus, omelette, grilled pepper, crepe dessert are our favorite. Made me fall in love with Spanish food now!
Like this Tapas place in Little Italy. I visited again and ordered the churrasco con chimichurri and ribs was overcooked and portions smaller with no meat on the ribs. You can compared my today pictures vs 7 month ago
Tomiño is a restaurant that can transport you to Spain through its lively ambiance, excellent service, and authentic tapas. The selection of wine is great and the quality of the food is impeccable. I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty array of tapas. The matrimonio, with boquerones and anchovies was a delicate delight, as was the pulpo a feira, and the parrillada de setas, all showcasing traditional Spanish flavors. The empanadas were a delight as well, with their tasty crispiness. The desserts were the perfect finish to the meal. The filloas rellenas were creamy and lovely. Not only the dishes, the service provided by the staff was top-notch, making us feel at home. Ill be back soon to indulge in the same experience!
Very fun and entertaining place. The mushrooms were my favorite.
Food and service is excellent. Been here a few times and loved the experience. The restaurant is a bit noisy so it’s challenging to have conversations.
My favorite Spanish restaurant in NYC by far, and I’ve been to almost all. Terrific staff and delicious food. A few of my favorites are the pulpo (octopus), tortilla de Betanzos, lamb chops, pimientos de padrón (shishito peppers) and croquetas. The best dessert is the tarta de Santiago. You’ll see/hear many Spanish people there, which is always a good sign for authenticity.
Honestly, I think we ordered the wrong items. Should have ordered tapas. The Arroz Caldoso wasnt bad but not very impressive. Did not like their soup. Croquetas were good, though.
Every plate we ordered is sort of tasty but none stands out that surprised me. Overall good and I like the vibe!
Food was mid, a few dishes needed more salt. The service was good though and some of the most polite service I’ve had in NYC.
Best drinks ever and they are huge!!! They do have some amazing Gin & Tonic options. I tried the raspberry and basil one and it was heavenly. The staff are well trained and friendly. Sat at the bar and the service was great. There is a huge amount of tapas options. Perfect place for a casual drinks/dinner night.
Tomiño is one of my favorite spots in the city! I go every chance I get and always really enjoy it.
My friends had been raving about this place for a while, so we decided to head on over for dinner there on a Thursday night. I made a 6 pm reservation with Open Table. We got there a bit early and the place was pretty empty, including the bar area (by the way, happy hour is only at the bar). Halfway through our meal is when the restaurant started filling up.We ordered a bottle of vino, and six different tapas to share:Chorizos al Infierno - this had a bit too much smoky flavor for me, probably because it was literally served to us on fire. Its a very nice presentation thoughChurrasco con Chimichurri (charcoal grilled Iberian baby-back ribs, chimichurri) - there wasnt much meat on this but the flavor was great. I especially liked the tartness of the chimichurriFritura de Chipirón (crispy baby squid, stringed zucchini & potato, basil alioli) - the crispy squid was very good. Ive never had a basil alioli before so it was a nice change of pace from the typical garlic aliolis you would get. The zucchini was a bit oily.Mixta (half cured meats/half cheese) - I remember there being chorizo and jamon but I cant remember anything else. Either way, you really cannot go wrong with a meat and cheese board.Huevos Rotos con Zorza (spiced-pork loin, crispy potatoes & free-range eggs) - this was my favorite dish of the night. It felt more like a brunch dish, but Im definitely not complaining about that. Whats not to like? Pork? Good. Crispy potatoes? Good. Eggs? Good! It is a tad on the saltier side though. I almost wish there were more potatoes instead of pork.Pulpo a Fiera (sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, pimentón) - this was another favorite of the night. The octopus was nice and tender, and was not overly salty like most of the other dishes we had.Overall, Id say I have mixed feelings about this place. I really loved half of the dishes but the other half was kind of just meh. I would probably only come back if I was in the area, its during happy hour, and order a few select dishes as a snack.
Good food, awesome service, beautiful decoration but pretty noisy place. Theyve tried to bring Galicia to NYC and almost succeed. The octopus is delicious, their best dish. The empanadillas are really bad, dont confuse with empanadas which were good. The Chuleta is a delicious piece of meat, typical from Galicia, ask for rare as they overcooked significantly our meat. Portions arent the Galicia style which should be generous, instead they do really small tapas, indeed most of us were hungry by the end of dinner. Overall a decent restaurant. Bread was terrific and theyve got a good wine list. Last, theyve tried to reinvent tarta de Santiago with not much success for our groups opinion.
Absolutely like the creamy espresso martini. It’s actually perfect and dinner was very interesting. The squid was a little bit slimy I’m not sure is this supposed to be like this but overall was great experience.
Excellent Spanish tapas, good place for casual but quality eats. Langoustine is really good, wine list is excellent, Iberico is not the top quality but highly acceptable for the price. It get packed and loud during peak hours,Over all great place.
Jamon, Octopus, Mixed Croquet, Chorizo, Squid with rice, all of them were great. Also, sparkling and white whine were awesome. Lastly, espresso with some liquor was outstanding
100% recommended !Michelin bib gourmandFantastic Galician Gastro bar(I will update my review with more details)
Great looking restaurant, great atmosphere! Really enjoyed the classic tapas and several of those elevated dishes!
The best food ever. If you like seafood, you must try this restaurant!Servers were also so nice.
I discovered this restaurant by accident while walking in Soho, Tomiño is a tapas restaurant from Galicia, Spain. I know this region since My family is originally from the North of Spain. I decided to try it. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar, as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Felipe (one of the owners) he was friendly and seemed very professional, giving us his recommendations on the menu. The menu had different tapas choices and various delicious entrees choices. We decided on the Pulpo (grilled Octopus), the patatas bravas and the croquetas. We met our bartender Jonathan, he was absolutely wonderful, he had a great since of humor and prepared an excellent Gin & Tonic. The restaurant was very busy and people seem to be treated the same way as if they were not so busy, impressive! The food was excellent, the service was fantastic, I highly recommend this restaurant, thumbs up! I will definitely visit again on my next trip to NYC, a must if you’re in Soho! This place is a fantastic neighborhood gem, bravo!09/30/2022Consistency!!Back at Tomiño this passed week since I was back in NYC, I am happy to say this gem is still amazing! The food, the ambiance and the attention were on point, again. This time I tried the pan con tomate and the croquetas and of course Jonathan’s gin tonic, delicious! See you next time!
Being from Spain I have always struggled to find a good authentic Spanish Tapas in NYC. This beats all the expectations. The food is absolutely unreal. I literally felt like I was back in Spain having tapas.
Hands down best Spanish restaurant in NY - top food, wonderful atmosphere and super friendly people - this is what bars are in Spain, you can only thank that it exists!
I was originally introduced to this restaurant early this month by a family friend. I was so thoroughly impressed by the service and even more so the food, that I had to return very soon afterwards. The location is great, atmosphere was wonderful. Service was excellent. Prices were reasonable. The food was phenomenal!! I highly recommend this establishment.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Absolutely deserve 5 🌟 review
Food and drinks were amazing. Also really enjoyed the experience and friendly service and the ambiance was great
Gorgeous food in a gorgeous fit out, top notch Spanish fare done right. You get your croquettas, your paella’s, bacalao, galician pulpo but the pork ribs and the almond cake was to die for! The ribs are on another level and I wish it had more 🍖 meat.
Second time here. Food is delicious as always. I recommend the croquettes, octopus, and ribs! Looking forward to trying more from their menu!
Wonderful unexpected surprise. Tomiño opened five months ago without any fuss and Sietsemas January review did little to ignite. Authentic Galician tapas restaurant quietly nestled in the heart of Little Italy. The bar and counter seating is relaxed, high tops by the window perfect for watching the world go by, rear dining room casual elegant. Creative well executed cocktails and Spanish only wine list. Chorizos al Infierno paired with Tortilla de Betanzos, Vieiras a la Gallega, Mushroom Goats cheese dish all noteworthy.
A good place for the tapas! We loved the seafood and beer there. The inner place is super lovely!
Everything is great. Highly recommend lobster Spanish rice and octopus. Price is good as well. Btw come here and try house old fashion, never regret.
We went for a tapas dinner. We order the croquetas mixtas, matrimonio, tomate y ventresca salad and churrasco. The croquetas were crunchy outside and soft and tasty inside, very good. The anchovies with boquerones just perfect. The salad was a bit heavy on the paprika dressing. And the pork ribs where so yummy that dont need the chimichurri sauce. The service was fast and friendly. Good place to taste a bit of food from Spain.
Loved the tapas but this place is a bit overrated imo
Not bad, the tapas tasted great albeit slightly salty, the rice portion was very large, good for 4 ppl. My favorite was the mushroom dish 😄
Really enjoyed this spot for Spanish tapas! The service was great. The food was also very good though some of the dishes came out a bit cold.
Great vermouth happy hour, love the relaxed service and option to sit on the street and people-watch, and the seafood was all really well done, yet simple and ingredient-focused. Phenomenal neighborhood spot
Food was really good in general. Only disappointment was the $108 Tomahawk steak. It was smaller than expected for the price and the meat didn’t taste as good as others I’ve tasted. The octopus, Iberico Ham, Tomato Paste Bread, Scallops, and Arroz Caldoso was really good. The last one with lobster was very messy to eat as they didn’t crack the lobster enough. I had to crack it and my hands had sauce all over it. They didn’t have enough napkins or wet-nap so I had to make a trip to wash my hands in the one bathroom for ladies.Overall, food is good. The infrastructure or service could use some minor improvements. The sangria was not good but the cocktail was delicious. All in all, it was a pleasant dining experience so l am giving 5 stars.
Delicious food and cocktails! Very nice staff!
True Galicia on Grand StreetAs good a Spanish (Galician actually) restaurant as I have ever been to outside of Spain. And I have been to many. No fusion - truly Galician, and healthy racione-sized portions with great quality and outstanding service...a treasure for NYC.
Food was good, not superior as you would expect for a Michelin restaurant but nothing to complain about. Service was good, time of waiting ok, price ok. Overall a good experience but nothing memorable.
Mushrooms and jamon were great! Shrimp mixta platter was quite expensive for what you got
Great food, service.Pulpo is the best
Brought some family here because I read from other reviews that it was great. But we were totally disappointed and thought it was way overhyped. I felt embarrassed even - because I brought them here and nobody liked any of it. I didn’t either. The food was very oily and extremely salty and overall lacked flavor. Worst part was that this is their first impression of Spanish food and that the prices didn’t match the flavor. I have had better tapas and Spanish food in most tapas other tapas places I’ve been. The service was good but the timing of the food was quite odd. The last dish came out 40 mins after the first and others came in between so the pacing was just not good.
Food here is alright, overrated for sure. Servers were not attentive, and the to-go box was what made it a massive disappointment. The box was not properly sealed AT ALL, and the leak caused an utter chaos in my bag.
Overall is good.Service: goodFood: taste ok but a bit saltyThese four dishes including tips $100.
I came here about 2 months ago. They had an amazing menu and great customer service! Dessert was out of this world!
Excellent food and nice service. The Gin and Tonics were the best I have tried in the world.
Not easy to get a table at weekends. Have to make a reservation ahead of time. The lobster soup with rice is super tasty.
Best Spanish restaurant in NYC! (believe me, I’m Spanish). All of the tapas are incredible, especially the octopus, tortilla and black rice.
Great sangria and patatas bravas (both off menu but they will make it). Also, the iberico pork shoulder was succulent
Stumbled on Tomino last night as we were looking for a drink before dinner. Had a lovely glass over vermouth over ice (with a slice of orange) off their vermouth menu, which is a thing Ive only ever seen in northern Spain.Cant wait to go back and try their food!
It was my first time here today and it was SO good! All the food was amazing and the drink. The waiter and all staff were really nice and friendly. I will def come back!
I was working in Soho for the past 6 months and always wanted to try Tomino Taberna Gallega (I went to Galicia when I was younger and loved it).I am happy that I did! Food, wine, service, atmosphere, we had a great time. Thank you.
Stopped in with friends for drinks and appetizers and had a great time trying new foods. The staff was very helpful with picking from the menu. The atmosphere was very comfortable.
In addition to our food being insanely salty I was accosted by three drunken women while in the bathroom only to be met by a waiter who decided it was a good idea to reprimand me instead. I’m disgusted and will never go there again. I live in Tribeca and consider this a neighborhood place and have never thought to write a review criticizing a local business, but I’ve had it with these overserved children.
Nice place to grab a cocktail in little Italy if you’re looking for something other than wine and the typical drink menus. Had the RÍAS BAIXAS SOUR and it was amazing. They have outdoor seating too so you can enjoy the street and people watching
This is my go to spot in NYC for Spanish Tapas. It’s also one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The staff is amazing. The food and drinks are delicious. I am obsessed with their Carajillos and croquetas de jamon! The restaurant also gets super fun once the kitchen closes and the show starts!
Great Spanish restaurant in nyc. I recently discovered this place and I am very happy with the food! The octopus is a must, Spanish style! Also the meat is amazing but don’t forget the tortilla patata, so tasty and good!Good wine selection, with many Spanish bottles. Price is good for the very high quality you get, very recommended!
Fantastic service and excellent food! The quality of ingredients is hard to beat at this price.
Amazing food! Highly recommended!
One of my favorite experiences in NYC. All glowing reviews are spot on. Very enjoyable.
We visited for a late lunch and it was absolutely amazing. The people who work there are so friendly and efficient. The bar is beautiful and nice to sit and sip before getting a table. The atmosphere is just lovely. All the food is delicious. Makes us check Galicia for our next Spain trip. Highly recommend it. (Please try out Pulpo! They are in the menu of almost all Spanish restaurants weve been to, but Toniño pulpo dish is the best)
LOVE this place! Amazing and authentic food…all cooked to perfection ❤️🙌🏻 great service to match!
The food was overcooked. They didnt cut out the rotten part of the tomatoes. It was overall very bad.I paid and left early, and Ive never done that before.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cozy, newly renovated place. Great sangria and food.
Loved the food and the environment at Tomiño. The service was very attentive and friendly.Really recommend getting the the perfectly cooked Pulpo or octopus tapas and the Squid Ink Rice! We finished with the assorted sorbet. Please try the yogurt sorbet, it’s so refreshing and creamy!I’ll definitely be back again to try other items on the menu!
The tapas and gin tonic are very good. A bit pricey but its a good place for special occasions.
Stopped in over the Fall affer cruising (walking) around lower Manhattan for a while. Had a reservation and ended showing up a little early but they accomodated. The food was excellent and so was the service. You have full view of the kitchen which adds an extra element of comfort. You can see how well the operation was run and hiw clean things are. Crwative deinks and creative dishes, the Pulpo was as good as it looked in other reviews/picfures. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Warm and cozy inside, would go back for sure.
Excellent, classic and authentic spanish tapas. The best ive had overall in memory outside of spain. The wait staff here is courteous, knowledgeable and friendly and eager to explain dishes to you as well as give you advice about what to select off the diverse andextensive Spanish wine list. A nice sherry list caps it off with a very laid-back yet chic place to drink it in. This is now my go-to Spanish spot in NYC .....and beyond! My three friends loved it, too.
Absolutely loved this place. Fresh, authentic, and to the point. Everything was delicious. Axel made our experience even better, and had great recommendations (the scallops!). Will return here whenever were in NYC.
Fun place for groups and the quality of the food is definitely there. Super cozy! Definitely recommend the polpo and warmed veggies
Loved everything we had to eat. Incredible food. You cant go wrong with the croquettes, simply delicious. Plus we always enjoy a nice Spanish Vermouth which is extremely difficult to find outside of Spain.
The arroz caldoso was fantastic and plenty of food for 2 people. I also recommend trying their gintonics. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
One of my fave restaurants in the LES, right in the middle of Chinatown and Little Italy. Good service and a relaxing environment. OLE 💃🏻
Ordered like 10 different things and they were all incredible. Just pick something from the menu at random and youll be amazed.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere!
Staff is friendly and food is to a good standard but atmosphere is far too loud for a dining room.
Wow, where do I begin? Little to no wait time, incredible staff, and exceptional service. My favorite was the empanadas and picana, truly one of the best in Manhattan. I would highly recommend to friends and family and would definitely come back!
Very good restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, I went with my partner and we both spent $120. I thought it was cheap and we were able to try several dishes.
Great spot for delicious tapas. Good vibes and great drinks!
Food was decent, but portions were a bit small for their price. Yeah, I get it.. tapas are small portions, but we ordered 7 or 8 items for 4 people (2 of whom dont eat much), and I still left hungry. Good thing they give you bread because we had 3 baskets of it. Nothing about this place really stands out, but thats a good thing too as it didnt stand out in a negative way.Pretty decent restaurant overall, but I just dont feel the value was there.
Its obvious most people writing reviews don’t actually have any taste if they’re giving this restaurant anything more than 1 star for food. Its painfully sub par. Chorizo and octopus have no taste. Langostines leave much to be desired. Zamburinas taste like they’ve been caught in the east river. Save yourself the effort.
Amazing experience. great service. delicious food and wine selection.
I ordered 3 dishes and two of them was spread but is very disappointing. My grilled scallops weee done to the point you couldn’t get it out of the shell. That’s a dish I’d just return to the kitchen. But overall experience was good. My part was 100$ for two dishes and two glasses of rose.
Excellent tapas! The pulpo is the most tender i’ve ever had! Will definitely come back to try other dishes!
Great place, delicious food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend this restaurant!
The energy in this place is out of this world, you can see the family connection within the staff which results into their great service! We got so many recommendations and great conversations while we were there, the drinks are so unique and the scallops just melt in your mouth!
Las night we went to dinner with my 2y daughter. All the team were so kind with her! The food is amazing: croquetas, Pà amb tumaca, revuelto de setas, torta de Santiago..the vibe…is the best restaurant in all of NY.
Loved the fact that this restaurant has brought the Galician cuisine in New York. The decor and ambiance was great too. Service was good and food tasty.
The food is amazing, wine selection as well. Service is great and prices affordable.
The tapas were good, mains were bad. I guess the lesson is if you come to a tapas restaurant stick with the tapas. Everything in the tapas section is worth a try. Really liked the scallops, lamp chops (forgot to photo), and tomato bread. For the two shared entrees, seafood rice was okay, the steak was horrible. The steak was somehow cooked to both well-done and rare, didn’t have much flavor, and in general tasted more like plain roast beef than a piece of steak.
Very accommodating! Bookings were full but we managed to get a table for 4. The atmosphere is great and every dish we tried was delicious.
A lovely spot in Little Italy w delicious food & a spectacular atmosphere. Service was on point, all their dishes were crazy good. Highly recommend!
Cute little Spanish tapas place in the midst of Little Italy. Felt like you were in Galicia because the air conditioner didn’t really work. Spicy Margarita was the best! Enjoyed the mushrooms with grapes and goat cheese, followed by the Churrasco con Chimichurri. Potato omelette and squid were good but too bland and lacked flavor. Service was good and atmosphere was nice except it was too warm.
Service is good. Food is tasty. Price reasonable for good quality of food.
I do not have enough starts to give to this restaurant. So authentic, I really love this place. The food is amazing and the people who works here make you feel at home every moment. The best Spanish-Galician food in NY.
Excellent like always!Best Spanish for in NYCPeople here are just awesome and very helpful.I never will get bored of this place.
Great tapas place, good food and awesome service.
The best gin and tonics in the city.
Tomiño Taberna Gallega is the real deal. The Spanish dishes are outstanding, covering everything from tapas to main courses. The drink selection? Impressive and perfectly complements the delicious food. What really made the experience stand out was the excellent service. The staff was attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly and adding a personal touch to the meal. All in all, Tomiño Taberna Gallega easily deserves a solid 5 out of 5. Its not just about the food; its an experience thats worth every bite.
Very nice and warm place for friends meeting or even for a date. The food is amazing and worth it every penny. Samuel was our server, and he was really friendly and proficient, and so all the other staff. It’s a place that I highly recommend!
Its good food, the ribs were solid and the lamb chops quite good, but overall it was playing a notch lower than Id hoped, and service was very slow even at lunch. My guess is the Ribeye is the play so youd want a big enough group to get that and still also have tapas.
I liked the food, it was DELICIOUS!!! Love the service, the staff was very attentive.
Authentic and original Spanish Tapas. None of your common Spanish cusine. The best of the Galician Culinary School. Their gin & tonic are excellent.
Awesome tapas restaurant! Food was excellent. Had the gambas, scallops, and ths paella with lobster for two which was huge but so good! Love the atmosphere very lively, lots of Spanish ppl dining there.
Love the place, planning to go back soon.
Pretty good. Would recommend the croquettes.
Delightful meal and comfortable space. It was a good date night place. The service was nice and friendly as well.
Really good Spanish restaurant with a focus on Galician dishes
This place was probably one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in New York! The servers were really nice and I love the bread refill! I order the pork shoulder with cheesy potatoes and then the lobster for two which was more than enough!
Great tapas! Very happy we came across this place randomly. Just opened last October. Price is very reasonable for the quality cooking.
I can’t describe it with words, best in town! jamon iberico…highly recommend…
Great food, fantastic experience on all fronts. We brought in 16 people for a work dinner. The restaurant was fantastic in advance communications, handled drinks food service effortlessly, the menu worked beautifully for our group and everyone left full and impressed. Strong recommend and enjoy! Thanks y’all.
Walked in spare of the moment with a friend for couple of drinks and couple of appetizers , was met by a cold reception at the door and our waiters pushing us to get more to drink and to eat didnt help the experienceWe told him no, we want only few drinks and small appetizers !The wine by the glass selections was just ok and the fried calamari was kind of old and full of potatoes to make volume on the plate , and the fried ribs we got was a joke there were basically only bones non meet onsite , and to make matters worse I got such a stomachache I didnt know if I need it to throw up o explode on the other end, which I eventually did first thing in the morning , ohh I confirm with my friend he had same reaction ( so I knew it was the food and not virus ?) just really old food and overpriceDefinitely will never go back
Great Spanish food and tapas! The jamon, croquetas and octopus were great! Definitely worth trying the paella style lobster. The drink are very nice and large too!Recommended for an aperitif (only drinks and few snacks to share - although a little expensive), or a very casual/informal midday date.
A favorite upscale Spanish tapas place
Great spot for true Spanish food. Highly recommend the octopus, its steamed vs traditionally grilled the juices are perfect for dipping bread in. Ribs are delicious but almost no meat, bartender warned me but worth noting if youre hungry. Cocktails are gin centric but very good.
Great services and delicious foods👍 Recommended the seafood dishes, we enjoyed eating sliced bread with the sauces! Staffs friendly introduced the menu, service water. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively, we need to speak loudly to each other, but still happy and spent time there! The location was convenient too, we took metro and had a small walk. Can definitely visit again for sure~
The food here is excellent. The tortilla de betanzos, the chorizos al infierno, the paella and the tarta de santiago are a few of my favs. Order a carajillo if you are in to espresso martinis.
The food here is excellent. The ‘Pulpo a Fiera’ ( octopus) was very delicately prepared over olive oil; my next favorite was the flaming Chorizos- you could taste and get the aroma of the Orujo liquor. Very authentic.
All the food was so flavorful and plated beautifully. True tapas style where sharing is a must to try them all. Space design and lighting matched the vibe.
Truly the best Spanish Food in all NYCThe drinks are also fantasticThe staff are incredibleThank you guys !
This place was fantastic. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommended
Great food and wonderful service!Their paella is really big and delicious, I would recommend 3-4 people to share the dish while it says for 2 people.Their octopus is really also fresh and soft! The fired jalapeño is a little spicy, but it’s a good appetizer to share.Overall a recommended Spanish restaurant here!
Im Spanish and have been visiting family in Spain my entire life and Im very happy to say that the food here is the real deal. Everything was just as good as it is in Spain or even better. The service was very fast and the staff was all very friendly. The place was beautiful and clean as well as comfortable. Its a bit pricey but the quality matches the price. Id highly reccomend coming out for a date night or any evening for that matter. I look forward to coming back and eating the food I love!
Hands down the best Spanish tapas place in NYC! Ask for recommendations - everyone of them was delicious!Highlights: flaming mini chorizo, the rice with squid ink
Highly recommended for great spanish food
Num ñum tapas and Galician region of Spain tapas, great octopus and jam and cheeses. Flight of Albariño wines for pairing was perfect. Friendly Spaniard hosts and staff. We sat at bar on a lazy Saturday and dreamed of being in a small Atlantic coast fishing village at the end of the world in Galicia… dreamy.
Great food and exceptional service. Their seafood is a must try. Almond cake was also good.
Love the food. I came back again for more tapas and the dry aged steak. Everything is great!
Very nice tapas exactly what we want (in contrast to many other tapas in nyc but mostly serving big dishes).About dishes:Our favorite was the charcoal grilled baby-back rib. It had very rich BBQ flavor close to the Uyghur style lamb on screwer or Patagonia style grilled lamb. The sauce was made of tomato, olive oil and maybe lemon juice and paprika too, for offsetting the greasy feeling. Sausage was redundant in my mind as this preserved food had enough salt to destroy my kidney. The salad was a surprise. Decided at the very end as we would have some greens. The flavor was balanced just right. The crispy pulled pork would be better if the chef was more generous. Thought it’s just deep fried pork skin at beginning, although tasty. The squid rice had very rich squid flavor (in the right way). Portion was perfect for 2 ppl to share along with other 4 dishes we ordered.Octopus was very juice although I would say it’s excellent if salt was lighter.Croquetas tasted like fried corn chowder. I would skip it if could get rid out one.About service:Water was always added when my glass was almost empty but they wouldn’t bother us for asking everything okay, which I really liked personally (particularly when chewing food). But we found out at the end that other tables came after us got served bread, maybe we got there too early (at 5)? Or the waiter felt we had ordered too much for 2 ladies? Regardless, no bread.
We ordered to go. $170/2 people. I highly recommend the $68 arroz caldoso. Other things I ordered are not good at all. I don’t recommend anything other than that. Not worth coming back again.
Ive been looking for a go to Spanish place with amazing tapas in Manhattan and Ive found it. Everything here was sensational. The drinks, (try the mojitos please), service, ambiance, and the food. An amazing restaurant for sure. Make sure to get the pan con tomate !
A firmly mediocre experience given the price point. The restaurant itself was so hot people were fanning themselves with menus and the folks next to me were joking theyre looking forward to getting on the subway for some A/C. Desperate times indeed! The service, I which I would describe as brisk, wasnt awful, but it was obvious our waiter had no time for pleasantries. The food wasnt bad at all, and arrived in a decent time too. I can recommend the scallops - which were excellent - and the rest of the dishes were generally good. Saying that, Ive been fortunate enough to travel to Spain extensively, and I would say the food is at a similar grade to a slightly classy tapas stall in a market in Gran Canaria. All in all, there are certainly worse places to eat in the area, so worth a try if they fix the air conditioning - or its winter!
More like 4.5 stars. Awesome food and good portions. Would recommend 2 entrees per person to share family style. Gin drink was a bit too juicy for me
Amazing food and ambiance. Friendly staff.
Warm, friendly, welcoming staff. Drool worthy food!
Excellent, felt like I was back in Spain! The host Philip was most gracious and the waiter Ormondi recommended the most delicious dishes. We tried almost everything on the menu and each dish was better than the last. A must stop. You wont be disappointed!
Poor service and overpriced food. Overall bad experience.
I’ve been a plenty of times to this place and everything is amazing, incredibly tasteful food, the service is outstanding and honestly, the attitude of everyone from the staff is my favorite part, they make you feel welcome and are super attentive. Highly recommended. Do not sleep on the croquetas, order half and half and trust me, you won’t regret it.
Everything was fantastic. We recently traveled to Spain, and the food here is the most authentic weve found close to home. It was the extensive list of traditional vermouth that brought us in, but the overall experience was perfect.DO NOT SKIP DESSERT.Our server, Ramon, was the portrait of warmth and hospitality.
Arguably one of the best if not best Spanish Restaurants in New York. Everything was delicious and the service was amazing.
Very good Spanish tapas restaurant.Every thing was very fresh and tasty.Good service, nice atmosphere and pleasant place.I miss the cream catalan, they did not have on the menu.
Possibly the greatest food i’ve had in Manhattan. I come often and have tasted most of the menu . I bring people here who care about quality of food because I know they will be unexpectedly surprised. The flavors are spot on, the taste unique. This place is often very loud, but still a good atmosphere.
Originally chose this place because it is on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list and boy did it deliver. Great drinks and dinner had with good friends reuniting for the first time since weve all been vaccinated. Everything we ordered was top notch especially the ribs, pan tomate and croquets. A real knockout. Service was friendly and swift and all at a decent price for what we received. We will be returning
Overall great experience. This is for Spanish aficionados, so be prepared
Nice decor and vibe. The food looks nice, but not that flavorful. Especially the octopus, which seems to be a popular dish, is kinda underwhelming. Good for instagram for sure. Service can be more friendly for its price.
First time having Galician cuisine, and boy was it a delight. All the tapas I had were great, but I was a little disappointed Arroz Caldoso--even after letting it cool so more of the flavor came through, it was still somewhat bland compared to the other dishes. Personal favorite dish was the parrillada de setas; I will come back to eat here just for this dish, it was that good! The service was also friendly, timely and accommodating.
Very authentic. Some of the best tapas Ive had in NYC. The octopus and chorizos were spectacular.
Loved this place, the wait staff were super knowledgeable, I mean possibly one of the best in town. You most try the scallops, 2 words YUM MY ( ok 1 word splitting yummy up doesnt work) if you like Gin they have a bunch of Gin drinks. If your are not a fan They have other mix cocktails and wines.
We visited Spain 2 years ago and miss their food so much. We were impressed to find a similar taste from Tomino Taberna Gallega with great quality and reasonable price. We tried their Baby Back Ribs, Baby Squid and Shrimp to share with a group of two. Everything was delicious, especially the squid, grilled perfectly, soft and juicy. The shrimp was flavorful, appetizing and tasted the best with the complimentary bread.
Group of five, wowed by the interior design! Warm, eclectic and inviting. Not what you typically see in this part of the city. Shared tapas and wine, everything was excellent. We sat for two or more hours during the afternoon, staff were friendly from the time we walked in until we left. Our server was attentive and answered all our menu questions. Definitely will go back again.
We are from Galicia and we decided to book here to check if it was the real thing. And it was. The polbo á feira is the best one that Ive had outside Galicia.Moitas grazas pola atención a todo o equipo!
Great spot. Went there during happy hour- the give small plates with drinks. I had white sangria, a red sangria and coffee and all them were delicious. Empanadas was really good, too. Service at the bar was great. Its a friendly spot. Ill definitely go back for a meal.
1st time experience at this restaurant. The food was great and the service and atmosphere was fantastic!!!
We were going there for happy hour but they could not accommodate us at the bar (which is the only place you can get happy hour specials) so they sat us at a table to have drinks and dessert. The waiter was INCREDIBLY rude because we weren’t planing on ordering entrees even though we ordered drinks appetizers and desserts. As soon as we ordered he snatched (literally snatched) our menus and the place settings - that was the last word we heard from him. He made the atmosphere incredibly AKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE and for that reason, we won’t be returning. As for the drinks, appetizers and desserts, they were okay. I was too distracted by the bad service to enjoy the food.
Very very nice 👍
We stumbled into this place on a rainy suday and were blown away by the friendly staff and the amazing Tapas , desserts and generous portions of spirits from their bar. We actually sat at the charcuterie bar to watch the incredible dishes being crafted. There is also a full bar where we could see the football game on TV. Their happy hour is every day and is Amazing! You get a complimentary appetizer of your choice with every drink you order. The excellent customer service, incredible prices and the food quality earns five stars in my opinion and I am picky. Everyone that works here is an artist and fills their niche. I would give the food 10 out of 10. Stop by this place and ask for Fernando. You wont regret it. Go here to be impressed and have an excellent time.
Nice place and reasonable price to try Michelin but not too special for the flavors.
Delicious food, strong drinks, and upbeat environment.
Superb time at a very authentic Spanish, Galician, spot! My friend from Spain helped us navigate through sone amazing and tasty tapas! The octopus was special in that it was cooked just right, no chewy nor soggy. Wine selection was extensive and for what I heard, one of the best in NYC!Definitely coming back for some good food!
I love this place honestly! There’s no one thing wrong about it.
I’m a spaniard living in New York, and this is probably the best representation of spanish food in the city! We go there pretty often, specially when we feel homesick! food quality is outstanding and service is perfect. Highly recommended!
Food was great as always. But, the service was very unprofessional. We bought a bottle of red wine and our waiter didnt even once come by to pour us out more, bring more water and nor ask how we were doing. When our tomahawk steak arrived he was nowhere to be found to remove the empty tapas. I had to call over a waitress to assist. I wanted to have dessert but after the service I couldnt do it. Once I paid the bill, he then told us you know you should really try our desserts... Like really? After weve already paid for the bill youre going to ask that?Again, food was amazing but service could have been MUCH better. I also mentioned to him it was our 6year anniversary and we wanted to come here specifically. He didnt take an info account and was nowhere to be found. I could totally understand if it was busy but it wasnt. It was 730pm on a Wednesday night like common.
I have been here only a few times. All the food here is very good. The lamb with chestnut cream is the best Ive ever had. Its a relatively small place and gets quite loud in the evening. The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is because the service is now so so. When it first opened the service was excellent.
I love this restaurant.Me and my wife was siting an ask the bartender to order our dishes.Every dish was golden. Also was advised to come for happy hour.google recommendations . BINGO
