Came in here for a glass. Great selection of French wines, though a little on the pricier end. Great atmosphere with nice service. At the end, they even poured some sparkling wine for us for free! Looking forward to coming back and trying their food

Got the outdoor seating and felt like we were in a french bistro setting in the middle of Manhattan 🤍It was a very unique experience.But as vegetarians we didn’t have many options for food, so we ordered desserts which were alright. The wine recommendation by the staff was great, although a bit on the costly end for just wine.

We love the happy hour here! The house wines are always of high quality and our chihuahua loves coming here in the summer for al fresco dining and people watching !!

Food was ok. Waited forever for oysters to come out cause they waited for everything to be fired. Why? No clue. And not all the oysters were whole.My wine glass was dirty as well.If you feel ignored and think it’s part of a Parisian charm, you’re mistaken. They have one guy covering both inside and out.Severely understaffed and overpriced.

We came to have drinks and dinner. we arrived at 23:25, he said kitchen closes in 8 min so my friend orders right away , after 15 min of been seating he decides to get back to our table, so we order some beers and wine and he is like ok so you going to drink I’m gonna order your food(you said the kitchen was closing) I dunno Because he saw us that we are Latinos or what but we didn’t feel welcomed at all. So rude and so disrespectful coming from another Latino person, I live two blocks down this restaurants and never feel like this before, such a poor and unfriendly customer service his name was Hugo.

One of the most perfect outdoor seating restaurants for Summer for wine bar in West Village.The food was so good even the service was running about slow due to the peak hour . We ordered 2 bottles of red and both were incredible.Salad was perfect itself definitely dont miss it .I don’t think they take a reservation so definitely try to walk in before peak hour if you don’t want to wait too long to get the table (we did and got the perfect table outdoor on a nice spring day )

Words can’t describe the experience we had on Friday at the wine bar. Do yourself a favor, if your going to visit west village, ask for our new found friends Nicolas and Rafael. These guys were hands-down some of the nicest people we have met in New York, and it’s an experience you must see for yourself . We had a great selection of wine that was offered to us by Rafael, followed up with a great secondary recommendation by the manager Nicolas. Afterwords, we got the pizza with the mushroom slices which was just enough if you’re not looking to become overly full or just going for a dinner date/lunch date. I would recommend buying your drinks by the bottle because it doesn’t make any sense to purchase it by the glass and it’s wine, so why not wine down! (So cheesy) the next time we visit New York again, we will absolutely be returning to this west village location as we had such a great experience and honestly loved the wine.

Sat in a corner and really loved the feeling of being isolated in a somewhat full place. Liked the view of the brick row townhomes from the inside large windows. The wine pour was decent and I always appreciate that! Will be back.

Cute place to grab a glass of wine and catch up with a friend. Service was very attentive. Ambiance was very cozy. Loved the happy hour special, just wish they had a rose glass option for HH!

The best French wine bar in the city! We have been coming to Vin Sur Vingt for years (ever since it was in the original cozy location across the street!) and have loved it from the start. The wine selection is extensive, and the servers are all so knowledgeable - we have found quite a few new favorites because of their suggestions! Nothing beats the cozy ambiance, charcuterie and tartines, friendly service, and amazing location - we have easily spent 5+ hours here on multiple occasions because you just dont want to leave.This review is also specifically for an event that we hosted there. My husband and I hosted the welcome night for our wedding weekend at VSV, and the entire process could not have gone better. We worked with Carlie Wright (Events Manager) and she was an absolute dream - thoughtful, understanding, creative, adaptable. It was so easy to talk to her and collaborate, and she made it a stress-free experience truly from beginning to end. The night itself went perfectly - our guests absolutely loved the space, we had tons of compliments on the wines, and the bartenders and staff were all so kind, positive, and helpful the entire night. Carlie even remembered our favorite wines from the tasting and brought glasses to my husband and I on arrival. I truly hope that well have an excuse to do an event at VSV again!

**UPDATE** The location on 7th is permanently closed. See boarded up photo below. You can still visit one of their other locations.A quiet, out of the way place. A neighborhood wine bar, if such a thing exists. Dont tell anyone about this place. I want to keep it all to myself.

The food, wine and atmosphere were good but overpriced for small portions. Beware they have a 20% service fee to groups of 5+, make no effort to let you know that it exists, and then print suggested tip percentages of 20, 22 and 25% in big letters on receipts. Felt very deceptive and Im sure others have accidentally tipped 40+%, to the restaurants enjoyment. Disappointed they never said a single word about it.

The hospitality is so lovely. Wine selection is great. The cheese is delicious. This was a highlight of our trip to NYC. Will be coming back and recommending to friends!! It’s perfect. Just come here.

Great wine list. The food was ok. Pay attention when the bill comes: even if we were splitting it between multiple cards, the suggested tip for each person was based on the full amount. Hopefully it was a one-off mistake, but just in case…

Three friends and I stopped inn one Thursday night for wine and dessert. It was pretty packed at around 8ish. At least four different people who worked there told us that they would look for an open table for us and/or it would be a 15 minute wait. There was an empty table we were waiting to be seated at, until a group of women (who had just walked in) strolled past us and tried to sit at our table. That being said, they need to figure out a better seating system because that whole ordeal was pretty annoying. Other than that, its a nice place to get some wine. Its got a chill atmosphere, and its not too loud, so you can actually have a conversation. Would recommend this spot, but see if you can make a reservation.

Charming wine bar in the West village. I had a wonderful salad nicoise with a glass (or two) of rose. An interesting menu and a wide selection of wine by glass or bottle at reasonable price. The owners in France have some of their wine there. As well a wide selection .. all French as far as I could see.

Best service ever! great cheese platter and wine selection

Tried to book and they said they dont allow service dogs, which is illegal under the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act and the New York State Human Rights Law. But what can you do? Very disappointed.

Fantastic wine list, with a very good selection and great service with a real knowledge of wines and good advices.They also have real french cheese and that makes your glass of wine even more enjoyable, the place is lovely and very cost.

Our initial server was very nice and super helpful, but the woman who took over for him repeatedly rushed us through our bottle of wine and then was visibility surprised when we asked her to stop.

Dark and cozy, open late, classic American rock playing, great staff. All French wine and tapas list; I really appreciate a place that sticks to its theme.

Drank a glass of red wine St Ém... very delicious, ate a mushroom soup more delicious than ate chocolate cake with whip cream drizzled in caramel... and Im worth it!

Cute wine bar with potential. Interesting selection of French wines broken out by region with (allegedly) several by the glass options from each. We wanted to try some different Bordeaux glasses but found out that they only had one, out of four listed! So a bit disappointed. We also got a a delicious dish of olives that went perfectly with our wine. Service was fine and they would have had a higher rating if they had made more options available by the glass to replace those that were sold out.

The most unpleasant restaurant experience weve ever had! First one server approached us and gave us a place to sit, after we were seated, another one came and said that we cant sit there and moved us to another place. Then the first appeared again and literally said he has no idea what hes doing, sit where I tell you. So we moved again. After that inconvenience, I was about to forget and order wine and asked what varieties of white wine they had, and the server answered: white, red and rose. Then I explained again that I wanted white, but what varieties do they offer - he said I have no idea, they pour that at the bar ??? We stayed for 10 minutes and left, we ordered appetizers, but we didnt even try them because, apart from him, the woman who brought the food was quite unpleasant. Really a place to which I will never return, because although it looks nice, the staff is extremely uninformed and unfriendly.

Tight, dark and dingy. The staff keep walking right behind you and as it is a tight fit, be prepared to have food on the back of your clothes.That said, the wine selection is amazing and the food was decent!

We love this place. The staff is awesome, the food is really good French and they have an awesome wine selection and you can choose to have any bottle by the glass which is awesome when you don’t want to decide on just one bottle.

Causal but dressed-up. Friendly crowd. One bathroom so you may end up having riveting but rushed conversations on the bathroom line.

I didn’t enjoy being recommended an off the menu bottle of the house brand Rose that was actual swill (and we were unable to finish it)…only to find out it cost $87. Am talking something so bad you would pay $8 retail for it. Come on guys, no one comes to a French wine bar to be ripped off like this

Fun spot for drinks and small plates, very French!

The place is a fraud. They remove bad reviews and only leave good ones. My experience sucked and so did their clueless management. It’s a rip off - when we came, they stalled us for almost an hour so we can order more drinks and pay them all the more money before they can prepare the food. They said their ‘policies’ prevent them from beginning to prepare the food before specific time. So they pray on people who end up sipping their overpriced wine until the waiter comes and says that now they can make the food. It’s not like they don’t have the food and it’s not like it’s a morning. I came there after my day at work towards the evening and I only ate lunch at noon so having an experience of waiting for my food on an empty stomach is harsh, greedy and inhumane. The manager has no compassion and only cares about money. I highly don’t recommend this place unless you think you deserve being mistreated.This is the second time I post a review for this place. The first one is gone - they had google delete it and I will have it investigated.

Small and cozy wine bar. Their wine list wasn’t fully updated, and we ordered a glass of wine from a specific producer only to find out they no longer carried it after we asked to see the label of what was poured. At least they poured us half a glass extra for the mistake. The tomato tartine was tasty, but tomatoes were too cold.

Great wine menu but super tiny space. The brie and honey on toast was delicious but the food is very traditional french. Nothing pops out. Id go here just for wine

The West village original is a better date spot than is the nomad spawn. 20 wines by the glass plus the bubblies mean there is something for everyone. I love that they take chances with at least a few unusual selections.

Excellent food and good wine. Service was ok.Main issue is that the first two bottles we tried to order where not available anymore, not a dealbreaker but kind of annoying. Waiter was nice and offered a more expensive bottle at the same price as the one we originally wanted.The croque-madame was excellent, the saucisson was okay but as a French bar they could try and get better/more original ones than just a regular sliced saucisson you can find in every grocery store.

I had a wine tasting event and the french sommelier really knows well about the wine.Even the cheapest wine is good there. We have cheese and charcuterie which were excellent.The place is very cosy, wine is absolutely incredible and food delicious.Also the staff is french and very nice.Id recommend for both group and date night as the place can host all kind of night!

One of the best French wine lists in NY with great variety and selection by the glass. The cheeses - all French - are also well chosen and very well matured. Intimate and dark atmosphere, it is a great place for wine lovers.

Honestly, I dont recommend this place. Im not upset about the quality or the price but I find it expensive USD 14.00 (in taxes and tip) for the meatball casserole with 5 small balls that we chase after each other... not counting the glass of wine which is charged between 15-20USD.I wont even talk about my passion for the toilets because they were so boring!
